After celebrating 5 years of
operation with the 5 Years De:tuned box set album, De:tuned are back with a 4
track release by one of the true heroes of the New York City and global
techno scene, Steve Stoll. Described
by Steve as 'a soundtrack to an independent film that was never released', it
features 4 heavy minimal hypnotic bangers that will please the inventive
techno DJ out there. This is indeed the trademark Steve Stoll sound of the
late 90s: straight-forward, rolling, tension building techno tools that sound
great loud and invite the DJ to get creative. All tracks were recovered from
an old DAT tape and are previously unreleased. They're exactly as good as the
finest moments of Steve's own Proper NYC back catalogue: no-nonsense techno

Distant
is Rebekah's 2nd release on CLR, after the success of her first Cycles EP
back in 2013, the long awaited second single Distant is veering towards a
deeper side of this Artist's repertoire. Rebekah has been pushing her sound
forward in the studio and has in the last year worked more and more with
analogue synths and sequencers which is evident in the title track. Opting
for a more broken beat and using a vast palette to create a soundscape that
keeps the groove moving forward, which opens up with darker pads, maintaining
the mood and feel. Distant Memory takes sounds from the original track and
shapes it into something slightly different and unpredictable by Rebekah,
showcasing a completely new element of this artists work. Its downtempo and
slightly experimental but also warm and inviting. Synchronicity lifts up the
pace and is a full out techno groove workout, Rebekah's signature kicks come
in to play but is almost more elegant here, complimenting the Distant pieces
but also holding its own within the more discerning of dance floors |

For our 3rd vinyl release, Go Hiyama brings
this powerful EP with a superb NX1 Remix. Go opens up the EP with 'Mean'
which contains full of darkness and dry atmosphere, and this track has
already been compiled in the 2nd Unknown Landscapes mix CD by Christian
Wunsch on PoleGroup Recordings. Then, NX1 breaks and rebuilds the original
'Philosopher' completely, which sounds almost another original track. After
that, 'Philosopher' original version enlightens 'techno for dancefloor'
theory with straight rhythm patterns and stabs. At last, 'Modeling Of Lights'
closes the journey with very fearful and dark atmosphere. The whole EP is a
story and Go is a great storyteller. This is a masterpiece of Go's work |

techno label founded in Belgrade, Serbia by a young talent Speedy. His
coworker on this first release, somebody who's known to worldwide audience,
based in Berlin, Alexander Kowalski is opening this release with his remix of
Speedy's track False Theory. D_func, who made this remix, is the project of
Alexander and represents his new way of techno production. Serious theme of
this remix, with usage of heavy hi hats and hooks, is bringing up together
all qualities of Alex's musical abilities. Massive peak-time track good for
dynamic sets! After that, on this release, you can find original version of
track named False Theory. Slow opening with kicks followed by tomes and with
shake loop is quickly transforming, into technoid drive. Repetitive Synth and
FX part carry this song to break where the track is going to lay down a bit
which is later followed by one dynamic breaking-in of the main theme. At the
end we have False Theory in Speedy's Lucky 13 Rework remix |

surprisingly accepting of his new reality: far from going crazy, he has
serenely discovered in his new self everything he didn't know and didn't
perceive as a human being. "Capitulo 4" is an incredibly precise
description of the awakening of the new Gregor. Shadows, fog, sinuous
silhouettes that are impossible to identify. In one word: confusion. B1,
"Capitulo 5". Vertigo starts to ease, we can hardly feel the
anguish and the heartbeat is gone. We are in a new reality and although it
seems a done deal, every movement he makes tells Gregor that understanding
this new world and his perception of it will not be easy. Chapter 5 demands
our everything while we listen: our full dedication and attention to the last
minute detail that reveals a new horizon and its new colour, or lack of it. A
horizon that, nevertheless, is more perceptible for Gregor, because he can

released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label a decade ago, Restore stands alone as
Houle’s very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the
quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. Spread across
three 12″s & 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal,
groove-driven sound purveyed by Hawtin and the rest of the Minus crew, while
retaining a strong sense of Houle’s unique character and identity. Now it’s
the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of
time, still utterly infectious and absorbing - a collection of music that
captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 10 years since its
release, the album is getting the remix treatment and Marc has called in some

Ownlife
refers to the tendency to enjoy being solitary or individualistic, which is
considered subversive in the chaotic future, according to the sience fiction
novel 1984 written by George Orwell. It is also the name of a new project
focused to the mental and hypnotic techno sound. Ownlife premieres with
Leiras debut,'Beginning of visions' with three original tracks and two
remixes from one of the leading figures of the electronic music scene in
Berlin, Sleeparchive. The ep opens with the track that gives name to the
release, an energic track exploring the space with metallic sounds in a
really long development. 'Emisario' follows, built over saturated sounds and
dry rhythm hits, makes this track a perfect mix tool. The B side opens with
the first version of Sleeparchive, where the minimalist techno doesn't lose a
bit of strength, creating a 4x4 rythm beat based on the punch of the kick.
'Penitent' explores the more mental and repetitive territories of present
techno with classic sounds in a continuous progression |

Durante is a legendary figure in the Italian Techno scene. An early 90's
innovator in combining the sounds of Techno , Acid and Industrial with his
old school project on the legendary Italian label ACV/Hot Trax. His project

ahead of the game back then. So like glove fits hand. Max fits perfectly on

The head of Grounded Theory
Berlin returns to Sonic Groove with his strongest outing on the label to
date. Henning Baer brings forth a rough and tough diverse four cut EP of
chunky rhythmatic techno. Recording the songs during live jams and using a
previously decided pool of hardware this EP has a nice old school vibe. The
sound production however is very much in the modern day with it's well
crafted mix downs. This release has strong mass appeal for the purist techno

Slam turn to long time friend and
collaborator, Len Faki, to head up the third part in the series of remixes of
their album Reverse Proceed and he turns in 2 fantastic versions amalgamating
two of his top picks from the LP. Slam also feature in this package with a
stripped back dub version of Ghosts of Detroit. Working Cirklon Bells &
Ghosts Of Detroit together to create Ghosts of Cirklon, Faki drops an epic,
tripped out monster of a remix. Merging the lush pad sounds of Cirklon atop
the bouncing bass line and aquatic sequence of Ghosts, Faki then adds a
fantastic drum work out, complete with a fairly punishing snare, to deliver a
real power house version of the two standout tracks from Slam's album. In
what feels like a natural progression from the opening track, Faki's version
of Ghosts Of Detroit keeps a similar pace whilst the original synth hook now
develops into a more pulsing, resonating dub variant. Slam offer up there own
dub version of Ghosts Of Detroit to close out the EP |

Ukrainian
duo Woo York mark their 5th release on Soma Records with the pulsing Blade
Runner, backed by an incredible Zadig remix. The boys have made a welcome
home on Soma Records as the continue to push their raw analogue sound upon
the world. Title track Blade Runner has all the hallmarks of a Woo York
production. Uniquely structured sequences quickly give way to a straight up
Techno groove. Subtly dubbed drums and sweeps compliment the ever evolving
tonal aspects of the track allowing for greater depth. Phantom comes out fighting as a well
produced haunting effort from Woo York. Building gently, perfectly weighted
drums are set to a rising dark of synth swells and pulses. French Techno wizard Zadig steps up with a
monster remix of Blade Runner to close out the EP. A Mills-esq 909 beat,
enchanted pads and a subtle use of the originals sequences are drawn out by
the Paris based producers as quick firing drum patterns roll out over a
deftly crafted soundscape. A masterful EP from Woo York once again and one
that sits perfectly within Soma's realms |

We are glad to welcome the mighty
Sleeparchive to our family. The Berliner gives us two original tracks plus
two remixes by label boss Oscar Mulero.
'Window 057' is an arpeggiated tool made of a crazy synth sequence,
shuffled hats and subtle kick drums in a constantly moving structure. 'Window
092' starts with a massive bass drum accompanied by synthetic bleeps and
noises that soon are joined by repetitive sequences carrying the flow. Oscar
Mulero's remix for 'Window 057' is a cleaner approach to the original, less
shuffled on the rhythms but with a lot more movement on the arpeggiated synth
lines. The 'Window 092' remake slows down the pressure on behalf of a more
liquid approach on the drums, and is more reverberated and deep. Oscar adds
more percussive elements and puts the bleeps away using the main sequence as
the centre of the arrangement |
