'Timber-seeking and testing are the key for ANG, a label engaged in a large
range of electronic music. This label wants to transmit the direct action of
sound on the soul. Composition comes into contact with the soul and
establishes the resonance. A label that can't be described simply by being
ambient, but surely it is a label with music suspended between astraction and
representation, a synthesis of external vision and internal contemplation. A
long journey called ANG' This was the presentation of the concept when
Gianluca Angelini began his digital label. The time is past and the love for
electronic music, his background, and feedback from many great artists...
made sure that ANG born Vinyl. And here we are. The first vinyl ANG is
completely electronic music (as always has been)! The label's owner shows
three tracks. In the A side, 'Sound P.Q.R.' is a reminder to all that
influenced the musical life of the artist. Rhythmic breaks. Hypnotic sounds
like a battle game |

Looking
back on a wide array of releases, it is safe to say that 2015 has been a
great year for Dynamic Reflection. So it was only natural to set the aim even
higher for 2016, beginning with the long awaited return of Abstract Division
to their native imprint, by the release of their first ever double EP:
Contemporary Spaces. Always being credited as great storytellers in both
their music and DJ-sets, exploring the format of a truly extended play seemed
like a logical progression from Abstract Division's work until now. Not set
out to be an album, but certainly being more than just an EP, Contemporary
Spaces explores the current state of techno, providing the listener with
wayward and timeless pieces drawing their inspiration from the broad spectrum
of electronic music. Yet, while each individual track stands in its own place
and time within this spectrum, the EP as a whole compliments the diversity of
past, present and future influences and styles. Contemporary Spaces is one of
their most extensive and widely aimed projects to date and solely consists of
original material. It is released as a limited double 12inch, pressed on lush
white vinyl |

This is the seventh Surgeon
album. "While exploring new production techniques using old and unlikely
hardware, the results were so unusual that I really had the sense that these
pieces of equipment didn't actually create these sounds, rather they were in
fact some kind of elaborate reception device that allowed me to tune into
transmissions from Distant Galaxies. The music I could hear was actually the
received transmissions of Pop Hits from those Distant Galaxies that were
being played on their radio stations. I quickly recorded all that I could
before losing the transmission. I consulted with Dr Andrew Read, the
astrophysicist with whom I recorded Guitar Treatments in 1999. He has worked
on the discovery of the most distant galaxies and astronomical objects in the
Universe. Together we came up with a possible list of where these musical
transmissions may have come from." |

Figure 73 introduces a new face
to the family - Manchester-bread and now Berlin-based Setaoc Mass. After
recently launching his own imprint SK Eleven and putting out several releases
that already tread in Figures lineage of modern, high-precision techno, the
label is thrilled to get this promising new artist on board. The five-tracker
shows Setaoc Mass at his most versatile yet and clearly displays the
producers talent for constructing both strong atmosphere as well as sheer
dance-floor effectiveness |

We
are very glad to welcome Mr. Lewis Fautzi to our team of producers. After
having been part of our booking roster for a year, now it's time for this
promising Portuguese producer to get physical on vinyl. Blood EP comprises
two original tracks plus remixes by our very own duo Exium and our man
Kwartz. Four slices of futuristic, spacey, hypnotic techno, starting with
'Blood'. All the elements of this track are present from the beginning:
synthetic bleeps, profound sub bass frequencies and percussive elements that
come in and out of the arrangement subtly. Less than five minutes of mental
therapy, and also a fabulous mixing tool.
Exium reinforces 'Blood', darkening the bleeps and modifying them,
adding a fatter kick and a more dynamic arrangement. On the B side, 'Skin'
keeps the continuous sequences and a strong kick drum as a starting point,
slowly adding hats and subtle drones that grow until taking more and more
sonic frequencies. Hard and mental at the same time, it will explore the
hidden territories of your mind, if played on the proper sound system |

Tresor Records is fortunate
enough to be sitting on a catalogue of past releases that no other label in
electronic music would turn down. Three of the finest in this collection were
contributed by Surgeon; 'Basictonalvocabulary', 'Balance' and 'Force + Form'
all originally came out on the Berlin institution between 1997 and 1999.
Surgeon's inimitable combination of Detroit techno and post-industrial sounds
emanating from his British homeland found its fullest expression in these
masterful trio of releases on Tresor. Tresor Records have decided that its
high time to give these seminal albums another airing, and will present each
in a staggered series of 2LP represses throughout the year. 'Force + Form' is
the last chapter of this re-issue series, centered around Surgeon and
represents a turn- ing point both in the artist's career as well as for the
history of techno music. Tresor.117
was remastered in 2015 by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering, London |

This
is the first solo work by Kwartz released by the Warm Up imprint. A vinyl
four-tracker and an extended seven track EP as its digital counterpart. The
young Spanish talent displays all his production skills in this release that
opens with the compact kick drums and arpeggiated madness of
"Rite", spiced with sweeps and drones that interweave with the
hypnotic arrangement. In his first rework, Oscar Mulero reduces the bass drum
punch, twists the arpeggiated synth line with reverb and early reflections,
and adds an overall guerrilla feel to the sound. Next up is "Remix
B", also by Oscar. This is a less aggressive version, more for building
a set. The elements appear slowly, with flanged synth lines as principal
motif. "Black Horse" starts with an ambient mood, till the
industrial groove comes in and creates a mixture of meditation and aggression
that grows and grows to utter madness. "Unknown territories"
contains part of the mood felt in "Rite", although this time the
sequence is more FM bell-like and the drums are less aggressive, mental and
deep |
