been performing live improvised techno using hardware machines. This has been
a gradual process of evolution over the 25 years that he's been performing to

techniques and inspiration from this live creative process and distilled them

According
to their policy of promoting fresh talent, Liebe Detail feature 20 year old
Italian Angelo Battilani from Ravenna on the flipside. He has released one ep
on the Milan based label Stereoseven Plus so far. His tack here is not as
empty as the track title suggests, although you can certainly label it
„minimal“, in which „Empty“ is not referring to the genre so much in an
deranged afterhour sense. It rather focusses on highly dynamic beats, which
slightly shift during the course of nine and a half minutes. Using only a
few, precisely set elements, Battilani turns this one into a rocking tool
that, despite its straightforwardness, manages to roll flexibly.After Phillip
Sollmann aka Efdemin has finished his studies at the Institute For Computer
music in Vienna, he moved to Berlin, where he has found a lot of opprtunities
to engage himslef intensively with Techno and House again. His track
„Bergwein“ on Dial and his work as Pigon on Just together with Oliver Kargl
are an impressive evidence of the rekindled love affair with this music |

Back to the vinyl rules, Spectral
Rebel is proud to present its collaboration with the Dutch duo Abstract
Division, featuring two originals and two remixes by Mike Storm and Re:Axis.
The good architecture of "Convergent" opens the EP with a slow but
strong climax, hypnotic rhythms and ambient sounds create an elegant
atmosphere, surrounded by a resonant voice. "Divergent" shows a
deeper concept of techno: the emotional melody keeps the track into a new
landscape, merging with a heavy basslines. Mike Storm is a familiar name to
the label. His remix reshapes the original track "Convergent" and
takes us into an interstellar trip through the cosmos. The atmosphere is
intense. Re:Axis version of "Divergent" is a high-energy piece and
it's definitely the powerful techno punch of this EP. Classic drum sounds
combine with vibrating kicks and some loopy cuts. SPR007 is an ecstasy for
ears and a proper bang for dancefloors |

Ben
Sims' Symbolism celebrates its 20th release with an 8 tracker featuring the
first original Ben Sims material in the past few years. Launched in 1999,
Symbolism was initially intended as side project of Sims' Theory imprint but
quickly developed in to a standout label itself with releases from Sims (as
Aural Emote), Exos, Reeko and a split release with Function hitting home on
the circuit. After a 9 year hiatus Symbolism was reactivated in in 2015 and
has since dropped 12's from the likes of Mike Gervais, D_Func, JC &
Kastil and George Tounisidis, 'Standing Before The Unknown' is a heavy
package from start to finish and takes in a number of tones while remaining
firmly dancefloor focused. Paul Mac's solo contribution 'Off a Cliff' kicks
things off in typically pristine style while 'Ishishish', his collaboration
with Sims, is a rougher, percussive affair that marks a fine return to the
studio for Sims. Russia's Rodion Stankevich makes two contrasting
appearances; first with the abrassive 'Umustgothruit' and later with
intricately layered and hypnotic 'Any Questions Any Answers' |
