Truncate (David Flores) returns to James Ruskin's Blueprint with a new
3-track EP, having made his outstanding debut on the label back in 2017 with
'Terminal 5'. 'The Bell / Initials / Timbre' comes off the back of continued
deep and raw releases on his own self-titled Truncate label, his recent
'Truncei8ht EP' for Eats Everything and Andre Campo's Ei8ht, which reached
the Top 10 of Beatport's Techno 100 Chart, and a remix of Spencer Parker for
Radio Slave's Rekids (due September). As a persistently in-demand DJ,
Truncate has spent the summer touring the US, South America, Asia and Europe,
with further gigs coming up this autumn at renowned clubs like Glasgow's Sub
Club, Belfast's Shine and London's fabric, amongst others. His new EP for
Blueprint has been receiving early support from Ben Sims and of course label
head, James Ruskin. Over its 3 tracks Truncate continues to shape his
evolving Truncate sound that he launched in 2011, from the tribal energy of

were a "Style Excercise" for Tyrell, flexing his producermuscle
while health issues forced him to stop touring. Initially he had no intention
to release these tracks but we found them so good that we were almost forced
to start this series. All tracks selected are variations on classic techno

Lyric
(Lyric Hood) delivers her debut solo release for M-Plant this summer. Having
joined her father, Robert Hood to become an integral part of Floorplan both
on the road and in the studio a few years ago, the two have collaborated on
the 'Victorious' album and all consequent Floorplan releases so it was only a
matter of time before she was ready to step into the solitary spotlight. Back
in 2016 when Floorplan became a duo, she stated: "Music is in my soul,
my blood, I eat and sleep beats, music, rhythms, it's in my DNA." An
early taste of her independent skills came in 2017 when she remixed 'Never
Grow Old', but now it's time for Lyric to take centre stage with two original
tracks. 'Nineteen', which just happens to be the age Lyric was when she first
joined Floorplan, delivers elements of their signature sound but also
provides an insight into the personal ideas that she brings to that mix. With
a housey inclination, it's deep, funky and yet still tough. For the flipside,
'11:11' delivers such a powerful Techno punch it must reflect her unique
upbringing and tutelage |

This time Anthony Linell cuts his
peerless supply four ways in four tracks. Short on hubris, and economical to
the point of being cruel, 'Core Field Horizon' relents in all the right
places to make the effects of its peaks and troughs impossible to defend
against. The opening track is a deluge. Spinning on its hydro-blasted synth
line, the gravitational pull erases and ensnares in equal disordering
measure. On its heel is the EP's title track, an austere display of the venom
in the seam between his club-focused work and his experimental output.
'Evaporating Entities' is one of Linell's most diaphanous works to date, and
after weaving through the sky we are abruptly subjected to the gravity of the
closing track's nerves |

next Planet X invasion is underway! Four mutated and banging hybrids have
joined forces for the ultimate techno takeover. First up is Q-Cumb, a former
vegetable farmer from the southern parts of Iceland known for excellent
cucumbers. Since he fled his homeland he has gained a notorious reputation in
the world of electronic music all over the world. He is known as Odinn,
cucumb45, Bbbbbb, kid mistik, slurp gurken, icelandic lamb, orange juice man,
gurk, q-cumb, holidayboy slurp and last but not least, Bjarki. His track,
Dreamers, is considered the track of the year by those who have experienced
it on the dancefloors of the united consciousness. Lafontaine was spawned on
the Icelandic highlands and channels Icelands musical energy through his
earthy connections. His tune, Ailenated, describes his existence where he
fights on a daily basis to combine his music with his daily life. The result
is a musical outbreak consisting of terrestrial techno with an experimental
feel. ThizOne cooks up the electro-mixture Bolt which is a political anthem
that describes his anger towards Icelandic politics |
