'Liquid Shards' - a split 12" epic courtesy of Den Haag's TAPE
co-founder Deniro and Brighton's new sensation Rene Wise. No-bullshit techno
that moves in between plural states of consciousness, the two producers
harness a double pair of laser-accurate rollers that pack some serious punch,
trimmed, shaped and polished for optimum impact on the dance floor. Deniro
steps up with a duo of streamlined techno bullets that delve smack dab the
cream of '90s atmospheric and dubbed-out tech territories. Whilst zoned out
opener 'Shards' cracks the mirror into an infinity of glassy textured synth
splinters and solar-powered sub-bass moves, sure to lift off any crowd
through some intensive, stamina-testing deus-ex-machina, pared-down banger
'Static' lets out the playful bassy bounce and bleep-laden engineering do the
talk for a straight out bone-crushing workout that quietly engulfs everything

was a busy year for Kutiman, he released several singles (including his
collaborations with Turkish singer Melike Sahin and Rioghnach Connolly), as
well as his Psychedelic Jazz Funk ep "Lines From Different
Sources". So it should come as no surprise that Kutiman's first release
for 2020 is the monster "Saluf/Badawee", two track desert funk
7". Both compositions on this limited edition vinyl are unmistakably in
line with Kutiman’s psychedelic, heady funk-jazz musical legacy, but they
also introduce a new approach in production esthetics and a narrative
characterized by the essence of the region they were recorded in. Saluf is an irresistible hypnotic middle
eastern brain melter that is steadily building and charging with harmonizing
synths and horns on top of dubbed out drums and handclaps. Think a pitched
down Omar Soulyman instrumental meets Tinariwen in a smokey club and you’re
getting close. Known to be one of the highlights of the Kutiman Orchestra’s
live sets and a certified crowd pleaser, capturing the spirit of Saluf in the

Fever
hit Jamaica around 1966 when the jerky Ska rhythms slowed down to a more
leisurely, sexy pace. Some say due to the extreme heat that hit the island
that year, making frenzied dance routines of the earlier sounds seem like
hard work in the all night Sound System Sessions. Others would say Reggae’s
beat is always evolving and changing into something slightly different and
moving with the times. Whatever the reasons were, this two year period that
ran until 1968, would see some of the power escape from then big three
producers, Clemet ‘Coxone’ Dodd, Prince Buster and Duke Reid, who ruled the
airwaves. They had to finally make room for the new wave of up and coming
producers who had something to say. Such names as Joel Gibson (Joe Gibbs),
Sonia Pottiger, Derrick Harriot and the most prolific of them all, Mr Bunny
Lee, would unleash some fine music in this fascinating, if short lived period
in Reggae;s history. We have compiled some of the biggest hits from the
Rocksteady era alongside some lesser known cuts we believe deserve to be
re-evaluated. Rocksteady was an inspirational time and some may say a little
overlooked, but we hope you agree with us when we say that it brought us some

"When I heard Follakzoid's music for the first time, I felt like what we
are trying to express are fundamentally similar. In other words, I felt like
we are both trying to reach the same destination. And one day we met each
other in the forest. Domingae and I discovered that we share the same love
for Cortozar. The encounter between Follakzoid and myself is a game designed
by the universe. Therefore our collaboration was a destiny, but it also
imposed me the most difficult challenges I faced in my music life. I'm
extremely relieved and grateful to be able to present the result as a piece
of work here |

than 20 years after it first launched, Gaetano Parisio has revived his well
regarded techno label Conform. Now back to take up its place at the heart of
the international scene, The first release of the new era is the start of a
new CONFORM RE-TOUCHED SERIES which will be released over the coming months
and contain classic Conform tracks that have been re-edit by big techno
artists. The first release contains four tracks plus one digital only bonus
with heavyweights Ben Sims, Mark Broom, James Ruskin, Truncate and Stojche
all stepping up. UK techno legend and Machine man Ben Sims is up first. His
Hardgroove edit of Gaetek's is a brutal track with driving drums and

Calum
Gunn has spent the past few years becoming a key figure in the European
electronic avant-garde. As well as releasing his own music through labels
like Entr'acte, FLUF and Tsuku Boshi, the Berlin-based Gunn also helms
Conditional Records, one of the most forward-thinking computer-music imprints
to emerge in recent times. Gunn's Addenda EP, his debut drop for Central
Processing Unit, contains some of his most dynamic work to date. While his
commitment to experimentalism remains, these four tracks represent a clear
shift in focus for Gunn - namely that, for perhaps the first time in his
career, he is making music that is club-friendly. A whole host of dancefloor
innovators are recalled when listening to Addenda - particularly Autechre,
Analord-era AFX and several of Mark Pritchard's projects as well as Gunn's
contemporaries Rian Treanor and Renick Bell. These tracks never sit still,
their rhythms constantly evolving and turning themselves over. Addenda's
first two cuts use metronomic hi-hats to keep these ever-changing grooves in
check. With its thwacking kicks and snares, opener 'Esephony' enters the fray
with the heft of an early Wiley riddim |

Dame-Music kicks off 2020 with a
bang! For her first release of the decade, label head Bloody Mary has teamed
up with Barcelona-based artist Cardopusher (Dark Entries, Zone, Super Rhythm
Trax, Boysnoize Records) to deliver an EP full of hard-hitting, acidic EBM
weapons. Conformity Kills is an ode to all those who go against the norm. But
what exactly is the norm? Who makes up the rules? Why are they in control?
Bloody Mary & Cardopusher’s first outing together on the A-side sees the
pair serve up the EP’s title track
Conformity Kills” – a high-energy original complete with a broken-beat
alternative mix. On the flip side, the pair are joined for additional vocals
by Lbeeze on “Out Of Control”. The package is rounded out with a heavy remix
from EBM man of the moment, Sarin, fresh off the back of his album on Phase

Man label boss Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with a swinging
techno focused four-tracker entitled ‘Raver EP’ Since the early 90s, renowned
UK artist and DJ Mark Broom has been cherished for his consistent output of
rhythmically charged techno and energy spiking performances with releases on
Warp, R&S, Soma, Hardgroove and Blueprint alongside collaborations with
artists such as Baby Ford, James Ruskin, Discrete Circuit and Gary Beck. A
regular on Rekids, Broom's contributed numerous releases and remixes to Matt
Edwards' label - notably last year's massive 'Break 97 EP' - and his next
outing sees the prolific producer return with four more versatile
club-focused cuts. ‘Raver’ opens with boomy kicks, splashing cymbals and
aggressive stabs until ‘Insta’ trembles the floor with rolling snares,
driving rides, distorted claps and arpeggiated synth patterns. On the flip,

Throughout
his career, Roger Semsroth has followed a deep intuition for experimentation
in sound, wrapping club music around eerie microtonal motifs and industrial
sensibilities. This new work for Tresor takes a step forward, as the first
true techno album from Sleeparchive, where his previous LPs have exhibited
themselves more conceptually, or under di erent names and his Nord Vest
label. Semsroth has been active in electronic music since the late 90s. He
received initial attention first for his electro productions under the alias
Skanfrom and the 80s minimal synth inspired Television Set. These projects
echoed his love for these sounds, which the East Berliner had steadily
immersed himself with after the end of the GDR. Upon hearing the bleeps of
Mika Vainio and Plastikman, he began to engage with his strain of techno.
Over the last decade, he has focused on his Sleeparchive alias, which dates
back to 2004. Alongside close friend DJ Pete, he performs live techno as
TR-101. His relationship with Tresor began in 2011, first releasing the Ronan
Point EP and following up with the crucial A Man Dies In The Street series in
2013 |

catalogue comes directly from the depth of the Bari (Italy) province. It is
written and produced by Francesco Strippoli aka Armonics and follows his
first mini LP on Slow Motion Records, Nuovi Orizzonti. Starlight Keeper smells
of night time at the beach, fishing in the dark, under a sky of stars. The
title track is a dancefloor pleaser reminiscent of early 90s Dream House that
soars on a synthy melody, pierced with an acid line. Twenty-Two is an
arpeggiated iteration of Italo Disco: hallucinogenic, suspensive, vibrating
with melancholic strings. The drums of Living Waves support buoyant sonic
layering while the Chicago inspired Portal projects the listener to that
moment when night yields to the light again |

Pour La Danse is proud to release Collected: Ambient Grooves 1993 ~ 2001, an
anthology of music created by Osamu Sato, the Kyoto-born, Tokyo-based digital
artist, photographer, and composer whose career began in the early 80s. In
1983, he released a cassette accompanied by silkscreen prints on Kaoru Sato's
(EP-4, Vanity Records) sought-after Skating Pears label. He gained worldwide
notoriety after creating cult video games Eastern Mind for Mac OS and LSD
Dream Emulator for Sony Playstation, and composing groundbreaking soundtracks
for both. This latter game, quite unlike anything before or after is often
praised as a masterpiece that started a new era in the gaming community.
"Osamu Sato remains one of the most sought-after and intriguing personalities
in the world of cult gaming, a spirit that haunts those who hunt the surreal
and those who clamor for more like he produced in the past" as VICE once

Scalameriya
returns to Perc Trax for his second solo EP for the label following on from
"Hellzone Megapunk" from early in 2018. As expected Perc Trax's
Serbian representative once again pushes his sound forward matching his ear
for innovative sound design with his innate sense of rhythm. A-side track
"Juggernaut" has already been a highlight of both Scalameriya and
Perc's DJ sets since last year and has proved itself to be a guaranteed floor
destroyer time and time again. Flip it over and both "Vicious
Remedy" and "Plothole" focus more on steady timbral build-up
than instant rhythmic destruction. Both gradually winding up over the course
of their first few minutes before peaking with an explosion of energy. As with
"Hellzone Megapunk" the 12" sleeve and release artwork for
this EP is a collaboration between Perc Trax's resident design crew Adult Art

enters its second decade with Cucina Povera and Haron fusing the folkloric
and futurist. Maria Rossi and Haron Aumaj (real names) honour musical
cinematism on 'Riffittelya', which slowly unfolds during a twenty-two minute
trail of exploration, angst and redemption. Meddling voices pinch through an
aural mist, Kubrickesque strings impend and cathedral organs relevate. Most
striking is the compatibility of Rossi's tangibility and Aumaj's
computerisation, seamlessly forming a renewed dynamic, as granular as it is
loose in texture. During this unique first collaboration it can be quickly
forgotten both artists have highly distinctive styles. We are reminded of
these singularities on the other half of the record, featuring two solo
works, both rich yet contrasting in their colour and emotion. On 'Maandag,
Spiegeldag', Aumaj sketches in orange chromatics, a featherweight composition
that feels far away from the greyscale fragility that Rossi portrays on
'Ajatus'. Showcasing two minimalist artists catapulted by their stunning
debut albums, this sixth Plafond keeps the listener in constant awe, pointing
us to the endless potential of spontaneity |

As
we celebrate Steyoyoke’s 8th Anniversary, we’re releasing an 8-track EP
showcasing some legendary, original cuts by the label’s artists. The first
track on this EP is “For Good”, by Earthlife featuring Eleonora. It begins
with a peaceful, melodic soundscape with angelic vocals adding the sense of
enchantment throughout the track. Next, "1984", by Darko Milosevic
is a pure ethereal track, rich in melodic and synth layers that is sure to
fill you with emotions. Soul button is next with "Gamila", a dreamy
track pushing your mind and soul into a higher state. “The Journey" by
Clawz SG, a diverse track, indeed a journey in itself with its dark and raw
beats. Nick Devon follows with "Long Gone", with echoing layers
feeding the listener with suspense and melancholic elements. Strinner is next
with "Oblivion", you can sense darkness with every beat and melody
leading your way towards imagination. “Pavillon" by Jobe is a dynamic,
dark and energetic track. The final track is "Fire" by Modeplex,
savage and uplifting with vocals adding an edge that boosts your senses.
