From
Another Mind continues to establish itself as a vital contemporary techno
outlet with a fresh release entitled "Der Weg Des Kriegers EP" from
label founders SHDW & Obscure Shape. This German pair hails from
Stuttgart and share a unique vision in the studio. They have a no frills,
straight up vibe that results in tracks designed for darkened spaces and
serious crowds. As DJs they draw on the old and the new from acid, EBM and
rave, and match the energy of their productions in their sets. After a big
2019 they keep up the pressure here and head into the new year in fine
fashion. First out of the blocks is the brilliant "Der Weg Des
Kriegers" with its hammering, high speed kicks and choppy percussive
patterns. A distant, sombre siren draws you ever further in as the track
rolls on relentlessly and grows ever more wild. "Endgegner" is an
all-out frazzled techno rave with scraping hits and distorted kicks driving
along and whipping crowds into a frenzy. Picking up the pace is
"Feuersturm", five minutes of banging techno with arresting synths
shooting out of the mix like lasers and sure to get hands in the air |

co-founder of the label, delivers 3 minimal house tracks that portray both
Gogan's long-term deejaying experience, and his ambition to think out of his
own box as a musician and constantly improve his production skills. What is
essential, is that the Polish producer keeps the dance factor at a high level
and does not forget that the main role of a clubbing track is to make people
move, this is why we get 3 100% dancefloor killers, often minimalistic in
form, but with totally groovy feeling. Last but not least, is the atmospheric

Dedication
to details, attention to structure and a tireless pursuit of that specific
and circular sound. The contextual element of 'Time Tracks' seem to be placed
in-between the most cordial music that Skudge has presented up until now, as
well as bridging the singularity and adrenaline from the previous albums and
EP's. We are invited into a palette of vivid mastery of details, brushes of
percussion and narrowed basses that shatters deep. Pads and strings which
acts as a foundation, evolves the music to a rigid composure. A sonic
narrative that seem to stem from motifs of the Earth, reflections of personal
flair and moments remembered, dwelling on records collected. 'Ifach' serves
as an ode to the legendary UK imprint. Combining 'Time Tracks' into a stark
collection of studio sessions that features colleagues Daniel Andreasson (on
Function) and Samo DJ (on Ifach). One could argue that this is a territory
proven to tick all the functional boxes, but Skudge manages to yet again
display a highly personal take in a realm of conciseness |

One
of our most celebrated and remixed tracks gets a fresh new remix for 2020.
The First Rebirth is given the knob twiddling treatment by Reinier Zonneveld,
head honcho over at Filth On Acid with whom we collaborated last year on
Universal Nation and, as before, you can expect to see this banging slice cut
to 12” vinyl alongside the Original Mix on the flip. Reinier started
classical piano lessons at just 3 years old. Years later he started to
compose his own pieces, but after attending many illegal raves, he started
exploring electronic music production. Spending all of his student allowance
on his first synthesizers, he managed to teach himself his outstanding
production skills in his student dorm. After completing two master’s degrees
in 2015, he decided to dedicate all of his time and effort to his
ever-growing passion: producing and performing techno music. Soon after, his
tracks were already getting picked up by some of the biggest names in the
scene. In 2017 he founded Filth On Acid. The label gives him full creative
control and serves as a platform for his wide view on techno music |

is the solo project of Stijn Wybouw, a young artist involved in numerous
visual and musical projects that often overlap and which share an
unflinchingly honest approach, as well as penchant for crimson hues. As
KRAMP, Wybouw assumes a red-faced identity to unleash raw machinations that
take on ceremonial underpinnings through coarse compositions, murky drones,
and warped vocalizations, all churned through the marshy fuzz of various tape
recorders. After a slew of self-releases, KRAMP’s first wax outing remains
bound to a DIY ethos reminiscent of early 2000s noise and freakfolk
undercurrents. On Nervous Rattles, the core is shaped by the original tapes
themselves, their materiality evident through the process of flipping,
tampering, layering and collaging, resulting in muddled interweaving textures
that form a deranged tapestry of a near-ritualistic order. Chanting,
breathing, moaning, howling and other bodily elements enter into a free-form
dialogue with an indiscriminate array of instruments to create an open-ended,
hypnotically shifting structure. A return to primordial zones, hearkening to
the ungraspable eeriness of something both familiar and mystifying |

Belgian
psychedelic jazz collective Compro Oro are pleased to announce a new
collaboration with Murat Ertel, co-founder and frontman of Istanbul's cult
psychedelic folk band BaBa ZuLa and his singer partner Esma Ertel. Entitled
'Simurg', the album is set for release on the 19th June via Sdban Ultra and
follows Compro Oro's critically acclaimed sophomore album 'Suburban Exotica',
released last year. Compro Oro's introduction to Turkish psychedelics came
off the back of a live performance between guitarist Bart Vervaeck and Murat
Ertel at Istanbul Express in 2016. Connecting both musically and spiritually,
they headed into the studio and under the watchful eye of producer and
multi-instrumentalist Dijf Sanders, Compro Oro and Murat recorded several
tracks during an intense recording session that would make up 'Simurg'.
"The new music is entirely based on improvisation. In contrast to
'Suburban Exotica', which is built more from song structures and where there
was more overdubs," explains frontman Wim Segers. The story of Simurg is
a story of attraction, existential research, purification and rebirth. In a
mysterious search for fulfilment, millions of birds embark on a journey,
crossing several valleys, each representing a human characteristic. While
some yield to the attractions of love, ego or grow ignorant and faithless,
others remain curious and continue their expedition. Slowly but surely this
murmuration of birds thins out and a selection of 30 birds reach Mountain Kaf
and the nest of the Simurg. There and then they become one, they are reborn
and reincarnated in an almighty and omniscient phoenix |

Horizons are outliers, largely unconcerned with much that goes on beyond
their LA studio. Immersed in their own universe of sound, the pair cherry
pick from genres to create their own raw, lo-fi take on what, if you must pin
it down, can be defined as loosely Balearic. The duo's sound calls on various
eras of pyschedelia through the years. From the scene's roots to the very
modern but always circles back to the initial shamanic intention of mind

Currently in the process of
recording their third album, after their acclaimed 2015 debut Hi-Fi Classics
(having opted out of recording a second record to avoid the dreaded
'difficult second album' syndrome), 'Brother' is a continuation of the
engrossing, yet unpredictable and hard-to-pin-down intelligence of the South
London band's output. Speaking on the single, Meatraffle say: Brother is
about the platonic love you have with your friends (sex is forbidden). It's
about sharing and having things in common. The ups and downs, of course -
about who buys more rounds of drinks than the others. It's a dry orgy, that's
all it is.' The origins of the band are lost in obscurity and legend, with
some believing they are the result of a drunken afternoon shared by Mutado
Pintado (Warmduscher, Paranoid London) and Zsa Zsa Sapien in a Wetherspoon
pub, with their original concept being to actually host a Meat Raffle,
evidence found in the fact that pigs' heads and raffle tickets are visible in
early photos of the band |

Circle launches his Destroy To Rebuild imprint with a ferocious techno
release entitled "Fearless EP", featuring Crystal Geometry and
Buried Secrets remixes. Following on from his Boiler Room debut for the HARD
DANCE series, VII Circle now turns his attention towards crafting a new label
entitled Destroy To Rebuild that will focus on techno, industrial, EBM and
uncompromising soundscapes. "Fearless" sets an intense scene with
rigorous and killer drum programming alongside stereo-spaced synths, giving
rise to an immense aural trip. "Revolt" then echoes the atmosphere
from the opening track while bringing an electric tension into the mix with
layered-in zappy rave-esque chords and ruthless percussion, the breakdown
will set on fire the dancefloors out there. Next, French artist and Sonic
Groove producer, Crystal Geometry, reimagines "Fearless" by bedding
in aggressive vocals, shuddering synth lines and searing stabs. Finally,
Monnom Black and Green Fetish Records imprint artist, Buried Secrets, sends
"Revolt" into otherworldly territories with pulsing keys, saturated
sub-frequencies and racing hi-hats |

It
has been two years since the first compilation on the Various Artists series
(PEVA) of Pi Electronics and the concept has stayed true to its aim: to
present a coherent selection of the label's favourite collaborators from the
roster and parties over the years. Bringing together Greek and international
artists, this compilation opens with a 10 minute recording by the combined
forces of Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick), from a live performance
recorded in Amsterdam. Meanwhile we also showcase the resurfacing of Vofa,
the joint project of producers Sawf and ANFS. There is a variety of options
in this 13 tracks release; from the raw and harsh textures of An-i and New
Frames, to Lycurgus live drum set recordings, Kondaktor's African percussive
electronics and Sarin's EBM infused techno. Some more techno interpretations,
such as the hypnotic moods of Stave and Fragedis, or the more punchy sounds
of Restive Plaggona and Poison Green. These shape the full picture of this
second Pi Electronics compilation titled "Divide & Rule" |

Manni
Dee returns to Perc Trax with his first new material for the label since his
breakout release 'Throbs Of Discontent' was unleashed by Perc Trax back in
2018. Lead track 'London Isn't England' soon became a scene anthem and
increased recognition of Manni's unique blend of bleeding-edge electronics
and fearless political statements. Since then he has released his debut album
on the legendary Tresor label, become a key part of Ansome's SLAM imprint and
has toured the world as both a DJ and live act. For the 3-track 'Everyone's
Replaceable Now' Manni dispense with the niceties and heads straight for the
jugular with three slices of techno brutalism. Leading the way is A1 track
'The Wolves', dedicated to Manni's home town of Wolverhampton, which dissolves
into a melee of Friday night town centre chatter before coming clattering
back in. Over on the B side, 'Do As They Don't' fires out a volley of rave
stabs with more class than most of the current crop of 90's reruns before

Next
up on Greek label Lower Parts is a fierce EP from the one and only DJ
Stingray, who serves up one of his strongest releases in a while and, at the
same time, marks his comeback with a bang. Featuring a remix by Athens talent
Kon001, who Stingray has been meaning to release for years and who got
personally handpicked by him for this assignment, the EP's titles tell us of
the Detroit man's interest in science, biology and evolution and covers
plenty of musical styles. Stingray has won plenty of acclaim with serious
releases on labels like Naked Lunch, Bleep and Itinerant Dub. He wastes no
time here in nailing down a nervy techno groove on 'Acetylcholine', with its
hurried kicks, electro synths and slithering bass lines all racing along as
you do the same. Dendrite is then a half time, lurching number with serious
dub weight and serene synths that manages to be beautiful and brutal at the
same time. On the flip, 'eRbB4' is a slick, journeying bit of electro-techno
with real soul and emotion in its bones, before kon001 does Stingray proud
with a dynamic, spangled remix that is metallic and reflective, groovy and
evocative |

second Raval Rave Breakers instalment continues with another strong five
tracker. A Swiss knife where different sides of electro manage to coexist in
blissful harmony. Some of them do so in a clean and classic way, like Dark
Vektor's "Time Space Rhythm & Bass". A small 80s odyssey that
fondly reminds of a certain quartet of well-known robots. Some others take a
a more raw and contemporary approach, like Spoiled Drama (Nous, Fleisch), who
plays the aches-and-pains card in a glorious way: "Drama's Welcome To
The Synthesized Pain Society" goes straight to your cortex and it won't
be easy to forget. Univac (Bunker, Moustache) sits in a more middle ground,
bringing us "Collider": a powerful electro-techno track that will
uplift any possible dancefloor. Larry McCormick, head honcho of the renowned
label Monoton, signs as his usual alias Exzakt, but now gets accompanied by
the mysterious BFX. Their track "Close" is a as perfect as it could
be: a pure, raw, super intense breaker electro rhythm, a ratchety lead, a
couple arps, a distorted vocal and a tremendous sub that, even at low
volumes, it might be heard even from the Mariana's Trench |

travel back to the lost futures of 1996 with this first-ever reissue of Time
Tourist, the second album from the pioneering ambient techno producers B12.
Housed in an evocative Designer?s Republic sleeve based on a classic Trevor
Webb airbrush painting, the sleevenotes of Time Tourist elude to the project
as soundtracking a dystopian future society that?s looking back at the
primitive past, evident from its strong references to Blade Runner, Philip K.
Dick and Star Wars. Each track on Time Tourist continues the outer edge
excavations that made B12?s debut album, the Detroit inspired science fiction
of Electro-Soma (album 4 in Warp's Artificial Intelligence series) such a
mind-warping experience, yet the concepts here are arguably stronger with the
album originally made as an educational soundtrack designed by the
22nd-century company ?B12 Systems?. Upon its original release, Time Tourist
looked further out than most of B12?s AI peers to the outer space narratives
that played such important role within the origins of techno that were built
within the late 80's and early 90's landscape of Detroit. As such, they
reached levels of science fiction escapism that few others have. As a
cultural document, Time Tourist is an evocative reminder of a time when
electronic music really did hold the keys to the future. Yet with this newly
