true. Stories of the imagination, stories from the ill-informed, stories
conjured by favored subjects, but all loosely wrapped in the truth. Systems
such as morals, religion, politics, and a culture are powerful enough to
influence the mind of one and the minds of many and therefore direct the
evolution of the species. Unseen Forces is a conceptual work that dissects
this idea. A collection of four songs cause the listener to re-examine not
only what they believed to be real and true but also why. Side A dives head
first into testing your belief system by introducing the first stage of
influence - Disruption and Experimentation. Introducing a simple question
into the belief system that cannot be answered and observing the result. The
Disruptor - subtle but powerful making its point with eerie, off center synth
lines, and synthesized drums. Driving a wedge between the listener and the
comfort of familiarity. Dr. Blowfin's Experiment - a long time and highly
revered classic previously released on SID, continues to re-evaluate beliefs

In the wake of the monumentally successful first two releases

special third outing. ‘Outing’ being the operative word, here, as VDK’s label
head has decided that it is time to shake off the veil of anonymity and lay
all bare. The story starts in Holland, with Dutch producer and DJ, Odette.

As
time passes, Aforisme label is only adding gems to its catalog and the next
one to shine is Root with his Cezariad EP. A combination of deep drums
throbbing through layers of bass lines and melodious partitions. He outsets
with “Cezariad” – a dynamic composition with satiny claps that evolve
throughout the time of listening into a core part of the piece. With a
start-to-end listening, we can hear the bass line groaning sometimes in the
back of the glossy keys and electronic environment. The casual shots are
colonizing the imagination of the listener, estranging it from the primary
source of the sound. A peaceful start is something to sum this up. “Black
Gold” – the name speaks for itself. A metallic continuance of the record with
generosity in bleakly sounds and eccentric build up. The digitalization of
this track can be felt from the first minute and we talk about the
sonification of Root’s message through this particular piece. It reminds us
of a playful xylophone paired with floor rhythms in a minimalistic entourage |

Friedrich
Raphael preps us for a glistening summer with the release of his second EP on
Istanbul based Petra Digital/Vinyl Recordings, entitled 'Koi'. The EP
features remixes from Berlin artist, Sense of Sun and Kassell based Herb
Rhythm adding an extra flavour to the work of art, whilst keeping to the key
theme of warm summer nights we all long for. All arranged in a tight package
of digital and vinyl. Friedrich pays homage to classic deep house with his
first track, 'Vitra'. The powerful kick drum drives the energy of this
original mix which allows a mellow pad and slapping bass to play off one
another, giving us a powerful groove to move our feet to. 'Villa' gives the
dancer a harsher taste of Friedrich’s music with the percussive elements
becoming more active whilst still maintaining the distinctive vibe. A touch
of class from the blossoming talent, with his grip tightly gripped on a
bright future. Sense of Sun takes 'Vitra' and gives it a rework in his own
refreshing style. The intended feel of the track is still at the forefront
but Sense Of Sun stamps it with a hint of a disco feel, with the constant
shuffle of the hi-hat line and funky bass steering the track towards this
road of happy feels |

wordt 'm. Lennert Coorevits neemt snel pen en papier en tekent een klein,

de vervreemding die een koortsdroom opwekt. De sfeer van het desolate hotel

"Room
With A View“ sees Rone returning to his musical roots and the set-up of his
early albums: purely electronic, solitarily conceived without any musical
collaborators. At the same time he was able to leave his comfort zone through
a new kind of artistic liaison. The album was produced alongside a live show
commissioned by the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and developed together with
choreography collective (LA) HORDE and 20 dancers of the Ballet National de
Marseille. This new kind of collaborative approach allowed Rone to produce
his most sincere and far-reaching music in some time. Inspired by discussions
of collapsologie and climate change, „Room With A View“ offers food for
thought on how to deal with one of the most pressing issues of humanity. The
Fenchman manages to let his trademark sound shine in a new light, pleasing
early fans as well as every electronica enthusiast. Typically melodic beats
like „Ginkgo Biloba“ nestle against tracks that exhibit classic influences
from Boards of Canada („La Marbrerie“) to SAW-era Aphex Twin („Raverie“),
euphoric dancefloor rhythms sit next to contemplative synth work. Tracks like
„Sophora Japonica“ showcase Rone’s mastership in atmosphere, which sometimes
requires no drums at all. Elsewhere, Rone is clearly reviving the
club-centric vibe of „Tohu Bohu“ and experimenting with elements of dub. It
all makes for and adventurous and rewarding listen. Most importantly, Rone is
redefining the notion of „organic“ in electronic music through use of field
and voice recordings. Be it his own child chattering, Aurelien Barrau or
Alain Damasio debating, or the dance troupe rehearsing and discussing the

devotion to extensive research of the history of club wear has been at the
forefront of MISBHV’s design philosophy, since its founding in 2015 by
creative director Natalia Maczek. Exploring the intersection of fashion and
the 90’s underground the Poland-based collective with previous ties to Maison
Martin Margiela, Balenciaga and Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Arts paint a
landscape of roughness, fun, nostalgia and futurism in a subversive marriage
of fashion and music. After collaborating with a diverse range of partners -
from Unsound and CXEMA to Dixon’s Transmoderna, MISBHV will be releasing its
first physical record in late April 2020. The debut EP is intended as an
open, collaborative space for artists connected with the label - bridging the
world of music and design, taking the form of a one-off collectible - the

Rekids
label boss Radio Slave ventures further into unknown territory in a
three-part sophomore album entitled ‘Radio Silence’ with the first instalment
dropping in June. Stretching nearly two decades, Matt Edwards’s discography
is staggering with releases on labels like Running Back, R&S, Ostgut Ton,
Nonplus and Figure, not to mention his illustrious imprint Rekids which has
been instrumental in supporting the music and careers of incendiary artists
over the years, including Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, DJ Deep, Nic Fanciulli, Peggy
