the Latin Jazz Era, This is Mongo Santamaria's second album for Fantasy
Records. A deep and fascinating investigation of Afro-Cuban roots run by the
great percussionist and a quite large group featuring Paul Horn on flute,
Emil Richards on vibraphone, Al McKibbons on bass and of course lots of
multicolored percussion and vocals split by a bunch of masters players
including Armando Peraza and Willie Bobo.The album opens with the redolent
melody of "Afro-Blue" one of his most beautiful compositions which
later became a classic Jazz standards with historical renditions by the likes
of John Coltrane, Abbey Lincoln and Oscar Brown Jr |

name already known within the Romanian minimal lovers; Sepp is visiting
Praetorium imprint for an adventure in time and space under Seppsilvestri
alias. The Searching LP follows Crihan’s opening album discussed earlier this
year. His latest album has been announced on Praetorium, making it the second
outing for the conceptual label. As he spreads the LP over 6 tracks, a clear
deviation from a familiar Sepp sound can be discerned as early as Beyond the
Portal. He transcends an outer space exploration by the use of alienated
sound patterns with every piece being another part of the expedition itself.
As the traveler crosses Beyond The Portal and gets Ready For Landing, A New
Land is found, and one can start Searching The Area. A new life form is being
found and they start Knowing Eachother, concluding to We’ll Live Together.
Not only this album is filled with atmospheric layers, but it also takes

latest EP with entrancing, processed soundscapes, beautifully haunting melody
and simple rhythmic elements than seem to evolve naturally allowing you to
get lost in the sea of vibrations. Xpan leans on the more classic Dub Techno
sound from Deepchord of years passed. Sub heavy beats and jagged yet tranquil
synths sweep across the palette as Deepchord plays with constantly fluctuating
chords, bringing the quintessential 90s Deep Techno into his more modern,

The entirety of Necrofago's
recorded legacy is encapsulated in their activities during the years 1897 and
1988 with the most important piece being their 1987 demo entitled
"Brutal Mutilation". One of the most unique sounding recordings to
have come from the Brazilian scene, "Brutal Mutilation"
exemplifies, unlike any other recording, the emphasis those bands placed upon
harsh aggression and raw recording techniques. The demo sounds like the
result of the potent collision of immense quantities cheap alcohol and
inhalants in brains already awash in adrenaline and youthful testosterone.
Lacking in nearly every category of technical proficiency, Necrofago focused
their entire effort into creating a monument to savagery |

After
a period of spending time in nature living in the Spanish coastal town of
Dexo - producer Roi speaks of his experience of returning to city life on his
second EP for Fanzine Records on Crunia EP. Set to drop this summer, Roi
shares two tightly honed original tracks inviting Carl Finlow and The
Exaltics to remix. The EP is a counterpoint to Deixo EP - his 2019 EP on
Fanzine that speaks from his opposite perspective of the self-knowledge born
out of his isolation when he first moved to the coast out of the city. Crunia
marks his time preparing the return to the jungle of the asphalt. It's a new
chapter moving from an introverted to extroverted existence and between
nature and man's constructs in the city. Opening the EP Maianca works in deep
breakbeats with shimmering synths with a jumping and uplifting feel. Carl
Finlow's remix builds it into an ultra-funky electro boogie number that
perfectly speaks of the carefree existence of living in nature. Crunia takes
the EP into a more frantic corner of urban life - to light up dark corners
gritty warehouse dance floors. For their remix The Exaltics take's Roi's
heavy handed lead and brings a heavily kicking version of Crunia to the mix
ready to pump the city's sound systems |

Alberto
Pascual, also known as Ribe is a well seasoned veteran in the Spanish scene.
An expert synthesist and modular weirdo, his sound palette is amazing. If you
have been so fortunate to enjoy his live PA before these turbulent times,
you've got the precision and hypnosis he always provides. This release has a
physical side and a digital one, with four and seven tracks respectively,
including two Oscar Mulero remixes. "Palette" opens the release, a
lone kick drum squashed in reverb sets the pace on the first bars while
abstract details appear randomly and a continuous sequence grows from below.
The tension is kept all over the arrangement, not additional percussive
elements, just the few principal elements going back and forth. "Shapes"
has a Basic Channel approach soundwise, texturized techno as its best,
exploring the dark corners of sound design, and again all relaying on a
linear and mental arrangement. "Ad Infinitum" is remixed by Oscar
Mulero in his first remake, transforming the formerly broken and abstract Ad
Infinitum is a danceable intelligent weapon. Original version of "Ad
Infinitum" follows, providing the experimental slice of the EP. Broken

part of our family almost since the beguinning, came out with a new killer
record. This time a new 100% instrumental album. You can call it surf music,
intrumental rock, psychedelic, you name it. It's so original and carved with
a tone of influences since the 50's to the now music, that is almost
unclasifiable. This one have also a special flavor it's a true homage to one
of the most important japanese guitar player and composer, Takeshi Terauchi.
The sleeve was inspired in one of our favorite albums he did in the 70's with

production. Each of the ten tracks are so good, that they could be released
as a single.The Rhythm Section is locked in and the guitars buzz but it's the
vocals that take this to pop heaven. The first side of the album starts with
Venid A Ver and doesn't let up until the Phil Spector esque Cuando Me Muera.
Flip over and it's straight back to the upbeat gems, which just keep coming
until the final track Romance De Lobos which ends the album in a more
reflective album. Una Vida Vulgar is pure perfection and for fans of X,

Moscow's celebrated label System 108 presents the latest split
release by Danny Daze and Anthony Rother. The "Binary" EP is
inspired by and dedicated to Moscow and its rich and distinctive atmosphere.
One side of the record consists of a raw-sounding and dancefloor-oriented
techno track "Moscow" by Danny Daze. With a slight correspondence
to the Dutch sound, the track also has a soulful synthesizer touch to it.
During the process. Remixed by producers Etapp Kyle and Tarra. The second
part of the EP belongs to the German electro producer and artist Anthony
Rother with his track "Kocmoc", referencing the Soviet satellite
launched in 1966, as part of the Dnepropetrovsk Sputnik program. The track is
presented in two versions - the original mix being more dance-oriented,
whilst the space mix is more abstract in its sound and style! |

Needing
no introduction, NYC-based Baltra rose with the lo-fi house scene and has
become one of the most innovative producers to come out of it, constantly
pushing for a fresh sound with use of organic vocals and cross-genre
experimentation. Returning for a full record on Shall Not Fade for the first
time since the hazy sounds of Rendezvous EP in 2019, Baltra's Dreaming Of A
Disco EP focuses on impeccable instrumentals and infectious melodies. The
title track carries subtle manipulated vocalisations at the core of the
melody which has a touch of romance and, later, just a hint of disco strings
adding an 80s shimmer that explodes to the forefront in jangling guitar
riffs. By the second number, "Imaginary Laughter", you know this
record is party-ready - it is a slow build up of ecstasy, sugary sweet.
Languid keys create a woozy atmosphere in "Private Paradise", a
track which is a glittering and understated anthem. EP closer "Sunset
Jam" holds more disco influence, channeling Donna Summer into a modern

A late night conversation about
the past and future of dance music elicited this surprise left field
collaboration from Justin Jay and Claude VonStroke. Justin’s mission was
simple: push VonStroke to the fringes. Being no stranger to disruption,
Claude loved the idea of challenging creative expectations. The result is
five intricate and leftfield landscapes, featuring a special remix from
Pearson Sound. ‘Oh’ is an EP with influences from UK jungle, Detroit electro,
Chicago juke and the deconstructed hip hop that shaped much of the early
Dirtybird sound. The tracks differ radically but are strung together with a

techno legend Mark Broom announces his ‘Fast Fünfzig EP’ for Radio
Slave’s Rekids this June, ahead of a full LP for the label in July. Mark
Broom’s mammoth discography shows an artist who has put in the hours,
boasting appearances on legendary imprints such as Robert Hood’s M-Plant,
Warp Records, Pure Plastic, Bpitch Control, and of course Rekids. Alongside
his solo work, his collaborations are an equal tour-de-force, with groups
such as The Fear Ratio with James Ruskin counted as fan favourites. Here
though, Broom takes the reigns solo, drawing on decades worth of experience
for a 12” of mind-altering cuts for one of electronic music’s most vital
labels. Lead track ‘Fingers’ sees the British DJ/producer toying with rubbery
basslines, glistening pads, and chunky percussion to deliver an irresistibly
buoyant house track. ‘Slow’ follows suit, bringing another dose of deep low
end next to eerie leads and shining synthesis. On the flip, Broom enters
electro-tinged territory on ‘Wild Style’, tying unruly machines together with
vocal chops over a staggered, off-kilter drum pattern. Taking the B2 spot,
‘Facteur’ sees a reflective touch to the EP as emotive progressions unfurl
under robust, mechanical hits, providing a cohesive and captivating taste of

Detroit-based veteran producer Brian 'Javonntte' Garrett. Supplying body
moving frequencies since the late nineties, Javonntte began playing piano at
age 15 and honed his craft on tour with Aretha Franklin. A collaborator of
Amp Fiddler and Luke Solomon, he has previously released on labels such as
Eglo Records, Lumberjacks In Hell, Traxx Underground, Defected and Waella’s
Choice. His debut on The Jazz Diaries see’s Garrett turn in five hazy,
funk-drenched, party-moving jams. From the crunchy midi fanfare of the
record’s opener “Reggietune”, through to the blissed-out sweeping synths of
“Outerbound”, the EP packs a punch, keeping it’s rock solid, groove-laden
