During the late 1970s, after No
Wave pioneer Lydia Lunch met saxophonist James Chance, she began setting her
angry and disjointed poetry to anti-music, founding her ground-breaking band
Teenage Jesus and The Jerks with Lunch's shouted lyrics matched by her
non-conventional use of electric guitar. The group's self-titled debut EP is
a fast and furious affair, produced by Robert Quine of the Voidoids/Lou Reed,
with future Nick Cave drummer Jim Sclavunos on bass and Bradley Field on
minimalist percussion: steeped in aggression and audacity, it's an awesome
disc that rebuffs punk's easy cliches and refuses to be categorized. This
reissue also includes the 'Pre' EP and the tracks from the legendary No New

The
first release from Microtonal Records, Residents of Aotearoa: Microtonal
Showcase (ROAMS) EP, presents producers currently living in New Zealand and
their interpretation of a warm, atmospheric and dark sound with a groove that
provokes movement and thought. Track A1: Astral Aura by Seb Selknam: A pure
analog production from Seb Selknam - Astral Aura provides an instant groove
from a warm bassline that sits in pure harmony with the kick to give
structure to the melodic and atmospheric landscape you are led into. Minimal
crisp percussion and echoing vocals add a familiar and human element to the
journey as you slowly float through vista's unknown and aura's unseen. This
is 08:22 of pure bliss. Track A2: Bosun by HRZNTL: The last beat drops, the
party ends, the taxi awaits. Bosun by HRZNTL is a reflective piece, the
transition from pure adrenaline and the buzz of the rave into a lasting
memory of a night spent with family and friends dancing at a castle in the
hills of Barcelona. The track itself is built around a detuned dubby key
which represents the emotions of ending an epic night, it is surrounded by
dark and haunting stabs to add to the atmosphere and a bubbling synth which
brings an optimistic reality that it's only day one at Sonar. Track B1:
Admiral Frick by Harvo x Patella: The first ever demo sent to Microtonal HQ,
Admiral Frick by Harvo and Patella is pure energy. Taking elements of tribal
percussion and combining it with acidic stabs, it is balanced perfectly with
a wandering atmospheric pad. There are subtle shifts between four four and
breakbeat, as it builds with syncopated snares and a beautiful unrecognisable
monotonous vocal calling you deeper into mysteries of the jungle at night.
Calmness descends to create space for a powerful sweeping drone like bass
that drops you back into a hypnotic state of being. Your relationship with
this track will be like an addiction, constantly seeking a hit. Track B2:
Introspection by Felipe Martinez: The epitome of a Microtonal Records track;
warm, atmospheric, dark and with a groove. Introspection by Felipe Martinez
is a microbreaks track that draws you in with a wide pulsating low end and
irregular percussive stabs that float from left to right at the high end. A
soft acid synth builds and explodes like a solar flare creating an outer
planetary experience. The beautifully crafted breakdown gives you time to
pause, observe and contemplate, creating space to process your mental state
and explore your emotions from the past, present and future. Introspection;

Moses Brown of Texas punk bands
Institute and Glue released his first cassette under the name Peace de
Résistance - a solo project where he plays all the instruments - in October
2020. That cassette found Brown bouncing his growing songwriting chops off the
fuzz-drenched Zamrock sound of Paul Ngozi, Witch, and Amanaz. However, Bits
and Pieces - Peace de Résistance's first full-length and first vinyl release
- has a wider vista. Brown describes the sound as "demented glam
rock," and while you can hear remnants of the Zamrock influence in the
sinuously melodic fuzz guitar, the more pertinent frames of reference are
Diamond Dogs -era Bowie, 70s Lou Reed, and Iggy's The Idiot and Lust for Life |

Back then, he started releasing Electro music in 2009 on the
@Paul-Blackford label @MilitantScience, and after a break, he is back behind
the machines producing music at a staggering speed! He mostly uses VST
plug-ins, however has acquired a Moog Grandmother and a Microbrute and is
integrating those into his workflow. Also worth noting is the first electro
release on Specimen Record 4 track compilation SPEC-017 featured Arsonist
Recorder, Francois Dillinger, Datawave and of course Sound Synthesis. This

Hewhocannotbenamed's actual identity. Some say he is a high ranking corrupt
GOP politician, or an undercover agent for a foreign government. He has been
banned from venues al over the world and Interpol reportedly has an ongoing
warrant out for his immediate arrest on undisclosed charges. He rarely
appears in public and very few have seen him without a mask. There have been
numerous reports of Hewho impersonators spotted all over the world,
especially when The Dwarves play live shows. It has even been suggested that
He Who Cannot Be Named does not really and is in fact merely a rock legend.
Perhaps Hewho himself is an imposter. We will probably never know for sure.
So maybe this album in a real fake from an Hewho impostor...who knows? try to
discover the reality playing it or 'Please Kill Yourself' |

Repress
on black vinyl. a spontanious outburst of energy after the first lockdown
resulted in this 6th album from Tiny Legs Tim. We’ll forever remember the
summer of 2020. In March the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. All over
the world cities and countries went in lockdown, bars and venues were closed
and live music stopped altogether. After three months of total isolation and
not being able to jam or play at Missy Sippy Blues & Roots Club in Ghent
—or any other place for that matter— Tiny Legs Tim and his friends decided to
book a weekend at The Yellow Tape studio. They wanted to capture the
emotional high of finally playing together again. A simple live setup, a 60’s
Faylon mixing desk and an old 24-track tape machine were used to record this
outburst of musical joy. During that weekend Tim and his musicians reached
that point of ‘locking together’ they experienced so often playing late
nights at a packed and steamy Missy Sippy. Imagine when four musicians act as
one in an energetic dance with the audience, led by the sultry beats of the
drums (Bernd Coene), the dirty grooves of the bass (Mattias Geernaert) and
the inciting dialogue of the guitars (Toon Vlerick & Tiny Legs Tim). At
the moment these kind of scenes and carefree celebrations of life and music
seem like a thing of a long gone past, but as Tim puts it: “We’re always
ready to roll, call us when it’s over.” In the meantime, the listener gets a
first-hand experience of the positive energy and joy of making music on the
spot with a selection of spontaneously arranged songs: some new, some old and
one cover by the late RL Burnside. Recorded and mixed at The Yellow Tape,
June 27th & 28th, 2020 by Peter Van de Veire and Tiny Legs Tim. Mastered
and cut at Ångstrøm Mastering by Frederic Alstadt. All songs by Tiny Legs Tim
except ‘Going Down South’ by R.L. Burnside. Vocals & Guitar by Tiny Legs

Helmed
by two longstanding legends of the scene, our next installment pays tribute
to the Benelux techno connection as we welcome Dutch maestro Steve Rachmad
under his Sterac alias and Token boss Kr!z to the fold. Each contributing a
brace of the typically elegant hard-hitters they've become so widely reputed
for, the pair has us swinging in balance between proper floor-destroying
potency and mind-expanding otherworldliness. A homage to the uncluttered and
beautifully escapistic vision they've advocated throughout their career and
continue to push in their various endeavors, RYCL019 is a feast for the
purists as much as a compellingly future-facing manifesto: classic in essence
but vanguard in its quest. Holding the reins of the A side, Rachmad gets the
ball rolling pedal to the metal. 'Muff Case' is genotypic Sterac material
with its surgical uptempo groove and malleable analogue membranes leaning
against a sci-fi-indebted scenario. Twisting gridlocked 4x4 semantics whilst
his trademark machine funk runs the voodoo down in euphoric style, the
Amsterdam-based magician has us hanging onto each bar's end as we'd be
watching a thriller: eager and excited for the next shift of gears. A deluge
of chromatic arps and subtle chord distortions agitate the sleek surface of
'Strike Icer' - a euphorically effervescing and inch-perfectly built slice of
liquid-like techno pyrotechnics, congealed into something of a classic for
the future ahead. Lovers of Rachmad's precise yet richly-hued blends shall
rejoice, for the Dutch producer flexes the refined brilliance and implacable
relevancy of his sound in an epoch not so highly regarded for its
risk-taking, soul-searching qualities. Cross the other side and here's
Belgian techno don Kr!z laying it down badman style. True to its name,
'Sorcerer' is a spell of unrelenting techno boggle, tailored to withstand the
heaviest DJ use without losing any of its punishing grit. As blunt synth
arpeggios keep looping in and out of focus, from sub-end depths to foreground
in-your-face'ness, Kr!z harnesses a wild bassy storm, inbound for total floor
obliteration. Shifting the angle onto deeper envelope fine-tuning and
lysergic mind-games, 'Lightworks' fuses a sense of weird acid sensuality with
the incisiveness of crisp drum patterns and bass-heavy aggression. Shining
through the squelchy layers of FX-laden baselines, Kr!z's emphasis on
textural interplays and rhythmic overlaps blazes to further devastating
effect. *This bad boy comes pressed on 70% blue 30% white marbled vinyl.

Alberto
Dascola, better known as Alborosie, has always had a deep passion for roots
reggae. Born and raised in Italy, his love for the genre brought him to his
adoptive homeland, Jamaica where he slowly but surely made a name for himself
as one of the most unlikely dancehall and reggae stars on the scene. His
musical talents have not gone unnoticed, and he has had the privilege of
working with foundation artistes of Bob Marley's legendary backing band, The
Wailers, on his 2018 LP Unbreakable, Alborosie Meets the Wailers United. As
an Italian-Jamaican Rastafarian dub specialist and musical explorer,
Alborosie is devoted to authentic reggae, honoring and preserving its
heritage and this is reflected in his work as an engineer, producer, and
mixer using vintage analogue gear, dub sirens, reel-to-reel tape, and live
instrumentation. A well/studied master of his craft, and his music speaks to
his dedication to the culture. Alborosie, who, in 2011, made history as the
first white artist to win England's M.O.B.O. (Music of Black Origin) Award in
the Best Reggae Act category, has grown in stature and in purpose. As an
