Sumos debut album
"Surfacing" is the follow up to their home-recorded EP "Weird
Summer" in April 2020. Sumos are a scuzz-pop band from Manchester, UK.
They began as a bedroom recording project between Joel Sloan (Guitar, Lead
Vocals) and Kyle Tarbuck (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals) after a hiatus from
playing together in a previous band. They then became a four-piece, adding
Kyle's sister Siobhán Tarbuck on Bass and Andy Kilroy on Drums. The album
contains nine catchy songs with jangly guitars and sweet summer harmonies

Neurotwin
is a Trilogy: Part I: In the fight against Alzheimer's, epilepsy,
schizophrenia and other diseases characterized by an imbalance in neuronal
activity, there are chemical weapons, such as those that try to prevent the
protein fragments known as beta-amyloid plaques from developing in the
cerebral cortex , and physical, such as electrical stimulation that allow to
restore the functionality of brain cells. This last resort, which has already
been shown to be effective in modifying the activity of the cerebral cortex,
is today a weapon of general intervention. Converting it to precision
requires the development of individualized and predictive brain models that
allow identifying where and how much to stimulate each patient. To achieve
this, an international European team is working on the creation of virtual
replicas of the most unknown organ in the body: the Neurotwin project.
According to recent research, the decrease in power in the neuronal
oscillations of the gamma band of the cerebral cortex (a pattern whose
frequency ranges between 20 and 50 Hertz) favors the development of protein
fragments related to Alzheimer's. Transcranial application of weak electrical
currents has proven to be an effective and painless way to modulate brain
activity without side effects. The objective is to create complete
computational models of the brain with real data of living beings (human
patients) and that allow to anticipate and specify the effects of
non-invasive stimulation techniques on neurological mechanisms. "Never
turn your back on a friend." - Alfred Hitchcock. Part II: The Neurotwin
project is the successor to an initiative that encompasses many projects
called Virtual Physiological Human, which was based on the idea of creating a
complete model of a human being on a computer, to perform non-invasive tests
at the computational level. Now the concept has been derived to "Digital
Twin", which seeks not only to have an equal computational model for
everyone, but to create "twin" digital models of each patient in
order to be able to make personalized medicine from the genome of each
individual. Specifically, in our project, we have focused on digital twin
brains, which would be representations of patient brains created from data
extracted with current neuroimaging and brain activity monitoring techniques.

from their usual Various Artists format and enlisting two artists to fill out
each side of the vinyl. The A-side features Montreal transplant, frequent
collaborator, and minimal jazz master Ohm Hourani, who puts forth a tripped
out, extended jam using classic Kim Cooper vocals and hypnotic beats. The
B-side enlists live band N/UM for two improvised tracks, The Way and Any
Time. N/UM is a 3-piece electronic band that uses classic analog instruments,
vocals, modular synths, and guitar to create fully improvised live

campers, we are back with some new goodies for you! This one is by the
completely virginal duo Death Bulb, who have never released a single track
before, which is quite ridiculous as they have been producing this stuff
since 2012. This is simply some of the best industrial noise techno around!
It starts out with the title track Zement, a total dancefloor killer that
still gives me goosebumps after hearing it about a million times. You will
eat this up! Second on the A side is Breathe In, Breed Out, a hilariously
rough beatdown with lots of heavy breathing involved - slays it every time!
Ultraviolence never felt so enjoyable! The B side starts out with a rare
guest appearance of label daddy Hanno Hinkelbein who donated a remix of
Zement for you people who like straightforward techno. Lots of heavy bass and
a crunchy ravepad, driven by relentless percussion. The vinyl ends with the
broken banger Bettina's Betrayal - noise at it's finest, somewhere between
I-F's "I Do Because I Couldn't Care Less..." and old AFX. For you
digital people out there we have a special treat with Shitsnack, an 8 minute
noisemonster that builds up from the ground and evolves into something

Seasons
are changing - energy is shifting. The next Frenzy release is here,
presenting the next-best-local talent on the block: Levzon. This born-to-be
gearhead from the outskirts of Amsterdam began experimenting with electronic
music as a youngster. Immersing himself in a variety of genres throughout his
early years, he decided to take the next step and provide an output for his
vision on techno as 'Levzon'. For our next Frenzy adventure, he is going all
out for the first time, profiling his sound through a 4-track heavy-hitting
EP with old-school-induced cuts and loopy basslines, including two remixes by
like-minded associates. Imagine an era where speed has no limit and the night
knows no dawn. That's about the atmosphere 'Mambata' is creating at the start
of the A-side. Followed by drum-led 'Bang the Drums', Levzon continues to
ride the wave of heat, pressure, and movement. The adventure doesn't end here
yet: talent on the rise Phil Berg is providing a perfectly executed dubby
remix of 'Bang The Drums' Enter the B-side where a body-heavy peak time
experience is awaiting you with 'Baraa'. A true weapon on the dancefloor. At
the end of his story, Levzon leaves us with the beautifully composed 'Baila',
casting a subtle rhythm of basslines with funk-induced vocals within a more

catalogue number 019. From straight forward, hard hitting techno as in
"LEVITATE" he crosses over to the typical Youngman style 2-step/techno
hybrid as in "MAGNETIC". Broken beats and playful melodies as in
"TEARDROP TURNS TO SOLID" are definitely not new to him, but the
combination of these two elements, as we find it here, definitely is. A

For
its tenth anniversary, Killekill decided it is worth to resurrect the main
label and bring it back in full effect with another compilation of tracks by
our beloved family members, favorite artists and bestest friends. Cat. number
020 was never released, and we thought, this celebratory occasion was perfect
to fill that gap, so everything is cleared, and we can step into the next
decade. We start off with a track by MMM, the legendary duo consisting of
Fiedel and Errorsmith, known for pushing the boundaries with every of their
very rare releases. This one is an extremely simple, but effective weapon to
destroy all dancefloors with its slightly loutish appeal. Neil Landstrumm got
together with Brian Rays and produced a bleeper hit with catchy vocals. We
don't know who the lyrics refer to, but they definitely express a punky
fuck-off attitude, which we are missing a lot nowadays. Poison Green on the
B-side is an alias of Cassegrain's Alex Tsiridis alias Rhyw, who is also one
half of Cassegrain. With "Diamino Butane" he kicks off this new
alias, which is meant for the dirtier electro side of his productions, and
it's a hit. Flamingo Overlord is a collab between Killekill label boss Nico
Deuster alias DJ Flush and Irish DJ and producer Jamie Behan. They also
collaborate under the more ghetto house-focused name Cork Bangers, but here,
they come up with an electro track of epic quality. Swarm Intelligence has
always been part of the Killekill family in some way. After the release of
his fabulous album on Voitax recently, we are happy to finally welcome him on
our label with one of the dark techno stompers he is known for. Following
this is Dez Williams with "Lord Prophet", undoubtedly, the the
hardest track of this compilation - full speed ahead! Full stop after that
for The Horrorist with one of his darkest and probably most spooky tracks
ever released: The Inferno paints a picture of a twisted, sick love with its
haunting melody, moony sound and no beats. W.H.O.R.E.S is a collab of
Killekill boss DJ Flush with one of his personal alltime electronic music
heroes Tobias Schmidt. The track was created as part of a rather extended
studio session with Cynthia Stern in his studio, which had various outcomes,
one of them being this electro track with a haunting melody, catching the
dark atmosphere of Berlin's winter. Next is one of our key figures, Alienata
in cooperation with Sync 24, one of the realest souls in electronic music and
electro in particular. They have produced an electro belter of incredible
energy - driving beats, acid bassline, lots of sweeps and fiddles and a voice
from outer space. Merimell is new to us, although she is not new to the
scene. Holding up the quality techno level in Estonia, she has released on DJ
Haus' UTTU before, and we are more than happy with that dark, thrusting beast
of a bassline over funky beats. Watch out for her! Boy-8-bit is not really
new to the scene as well. Releases on Boysnoize and Turbo are not on
everyone's achievements list, but when he sent us NYX, he was quite new to
us. He delivered a fascinating track. It's 100% acid, but not repeating the
old acid scheme at all, it sounds totally fresh and unique. Future acid. The
Mover, well, what shall we say? After the classics remastered last year, he
just released "Undetected Act from the Gloom Chamber" on our Boidae
imprint. With his sound aesthetics and his independent spirit, he has become
an inseparable part of our family, and hence, to this compilation as well. A
funky beat, a melody from outer space and his engineering on an unseen level
- that's the ingredients for another masterpiece. The last track comes from
Tigerhead, a young dj and producer from Berlin, who got in touch a while ago
and has become an essential part of our family since then. Her
"Epilog" consists of a monumental breakbeat, saturated with dubby
chords and crowned with her dreamy voice |

Rytm welcome back Swiss DJ/producer Chlar for a bustling, high-octane return
as he unveils his latest six-track EP, 'Intrinsic Drive'. Swiss artist and
mastering engineer Chlar's last outing on Mutual Rytm, his 'Optimized
Grooves' EP, was a standout success that made an impact far and wide across
the techno realm. It was another big step for the fast-rising producer, who
is also a dexterous DJ that plays across three and even four decks in the
club. A craftsman of sounds, his take on techno is full throttle and has come
on labels like Iceland's NIX and Stranger's Self Reflektion imprint. Always
looking to improve his sounds, he hits a perfect sweet spot with a fresh and
visionary approach across six fresh productions with his 'Intrinsic Drive' EP,
again showcasing exemplary creative progression in his ever-impressing
production skills. Up first is 'Dopamine Rush', a quickened techno pumper
with synths peeling off the straight-ahead drums and locking you into a state
of hypnosis. The title track 'Intrinsic Drive' is a tightly woven mix of
drums, hits and bass that never lets up, while the supple rhythm is overlaid
with alien sound designs to up the intensity. 'For Marco' takes a heavier
path with darkened and more weighty kick drums under eerie synth loops. There
is a real swing in the drums of 'Steady Pace' as the crisp hits and vocal
fragments all up the ante, before 'Greedy Man' delivers a tough panel beater
with skewed synths and an industrial undertone. Digital bonus 'May I Dance?'
rounds things out with raw textures and unhinged loops that take you to the
heart of a strobe-lit dance floor, shaping up another
mighty fine statement of intent from the ever more vital Swiss native.

Leonid Lipelis very few boundaries exist when it comes to his DJ choices, be
it edits or original output (check out his releases on L.I.E.S or Public
Possession). TMO likes to venture up the weird road, but keeps his music very
danceable. Simply put, Lipelis x TMO is all about the dancefloor. Lipelis'
approach is grounded in his long spinning life in music. The story of a true
legend of the Russian dance scene started at S-11 club, picked up at Simachev
Bar and culminates at those special slots at bigger raves and festivals like
Outline, PPF or Signal, where Leonid has an important function to hold tight
"that special" dancefloor, that is flamboyant, colourful and
groovy. Next stop - international clubs and festivals across the globe. As System
108 resident, Lipelis, continues his special way in music, being a core
member of the community when it comes, again, to "those special
dancefloors", one of those for Lipelis was a 6H set back 2 back 2 back
with the fabulous Simple Symmetry brothers and Odopt, cheered as mix of the
day by Resident Advisor. In his new EP, Lipelis, who is also TMO (hello,
Discogs diggers, you know it!), delivers warm and groovy studio experiments,
recordings that highlight his best playful side. Although these emerged
somehow in an escape trip from Moscow and DJing, in the town of Zaraisk, with
a very limited setup, being remote from the dancefloor resulted in perhaps
the most dancefloor-ready record by the artist so far. Combining the best of

Crystal Geometry is fast building
a discography to be reckoned with. His second album for Sonic Groove, titled

In
The Land of Silence is the first full length album by experimental artist
Ireen Amnes. The founder of the London based collective Under My Feet debuts
on Sonic Groove with an immaterial journey contemplating suffering,
liberation, the importance of affection and unity. This ambient album reveals
a hidden connection between these human emotions. From anger and rejection,
to love and unity, the sounds explored by the artist represent a recent
journey within. Recollections of distant memories are expressed with
nostalgic sounds; by contrast, darker tracks are symbolic of those moments
when it is more difficult to accept reality for what it is. Ireen expresses
in this album that there wouldn't be any joy without suffering. Sounds
created out of emotions that cannot be spoken. Beats that pulse out of
gestures that can no longer be performed. Tones that screech out of bodies
that can no longer be human. Echoes of all unspoken words reverb into the
wounds of time; that constant ebb and flow of existence; that relentless
stomping of exchanges. The slur of life is now noise - she collects its torn
pieces with her bare hands and holds them close to her pounding flesh. She
now sways in and out of consciousness, transported by nothing but his will to
life, his ecstatic memory, his murmured love that now forms this soundtrack

Spanish
producer Vilchezz debuts on slash with one of KI/KI's longest awaited
dancefloor hits to date. The title track Camelo's is doing rounds in her DJ
sets for a couple of years and is easily the highlight of many gigs, finally
the day is now there to present it on her own slash label. It all started
just with a Soundcloud demo a year ago when Fasta Danza crew member Vilchezz
shared some of his new music with KI/KI. Now residing in Budapest, his new EP
also marks a significant change in styles for Vilchezz, with his new works
leaning more towards energetic, trance tinged hard grooves. And that's
exactly the sweet spot where he meets KI/KI and her slash imprint. After
playing the Camelo's demo inside-out around the world a full release is now
finally formed. A full pack backed with another original Eskorbuto - which
feels like a future classic uplifting trance drifter - and three remixes
another chapter on slash is there. For the remixes KI/KI and Vilchezz invited
Oslo based trance producer and UTE.REC label co-owner Filip Storsveen aka
Oprofessionell. He turns Camelo's into a magnificent introvert eyes closed
club weapon. Where Glasgow's Animal Farm resident AISHA comes in fierce with
a powerful early 00's twist combined with an impeccable psy drive. And to
finalize the pack, fast rising star CAIVA reworked Eskorbuto by adding her
own vocals to the original and by doing so she adds an impressive, emotive

THE SHINING - MECHATRONICA, BROKNTOYS, SHIPWREC , SPECIMEN. Jauzas the
Shining was known as Adjust before taking that new alias - which is a salute
to Kubrick's movie and the telepathy of his young character. Since 2001, he's
one of the most active electro producers in France, with several solid EPs
released on Shipwrec, Last Known Trajectory, Transient Force, New Flesh,
Minimum Syndicat, Mechatronica or Brokntoys and collaborate with iconic
artists like Heinrich Mueller, Orgue Electronique, Ekman, Shemale, Faceless
Mind, Specimen, and Ultradyne. He shared the decks with the hall of fame of
electro music. From the 90s IDM influences, Jauzas The Shining is a deep
odyssey into the cold groove of electro sounds, using his sickness on
skyzophrenic beats from his electronic dark side. Hidden in the shadow of
this room, Jauzas looks himself in a broken mirror but he doesn't recognise
himself, he doesn't remember..the only thing he knowns is that he's now on
board the nautilus ship, deeper and deeper is an ocean of sounds
...Artificial lights, mechanical noise and metallic walls..He starts hearing
these voices but he doesn't know who they belong to? Utilising his sickness
on skyzophrenic beats and abstract electronic dark side, he became
"Jauzas the shining" The mysterious and miraculous journey of
Jauzas who spent his nights and days on Formentera. Here he conjures up a
concoction of deep ocean meanderings and spellbound nights, underneath the
shooting stars and radiant waters. Images of the past merged with future,
becoming a collage of voices across projected shapes which make presence in
their ghostlike form. This is another outing which explores the surreal and

Imbalance shakes things up again as Sentience carves a more upbeat vibe, a
beautiful addictive earworm melody composed with gently refined keys

label via bandcamp fixed his computer so he can deliver this first one as an
introduction. His Schranz/hard techno beat dives into a trance-mission direct
to your brain in order to make your body shake. Moving on to France JKS is
half of Jawbreakers his techno rave music is really influenced by iconic
figures from the 90's rave culture (Dave the Drummer/ Stay up Forever) name
track is a retrotesque beat with a powerful bass-line moving between trance,
body music and electro clash. With a ton of class. Next one on the list
delivering one of those weirdo tracks that from time to time we love to
showcase on our compilations. DJDJ debuts with a darkroom alike anthem. Job

various artists from different horizons with strong personalities bringing

sonorities reaching from trance to UK dubstep. Disk Space - Matrix: A good
introduction to what trance blended with techno can do and how a repetitive
beat can sharpen a track transcending trance, techno and more. This track
will definitely create a matrix in you, thanks to the use of low and quick
riffs creating a tension that will keep you dancing. Charlie Sparks - Senshi:
Charlie Sparks may have discovered how to break jaws with the simple use of a
baseline. Starting with a Japanese sample and a mysterious vibe, this track
sound like a heart warming remembrance of hooligans songs, and the 90's
Gabber spirit all mixed to create a new GTO manga soundtrack, but better.
Axyom - Blackout: It all started with a dark riff and a sharp voice, then it
went crescendo creating a UK dubstep Burial kind of track in a more rhythmic
way. A melodic synth and a whispering female voice achieving to create a
forgotten memory lost on the dance floor, served with a crunchy acid side.
This track mold with concrete and sounds, will surely leave a loud deeper
feeling in your mind. Dorian Parano - Locked Down: After years of lockdowns
and stay at home jobs, there's one sentence that nobody wants to hear
anymore, and as you may imagine reading the name of this track, French artist
Dorian Parano have is own way to cope with the pandemic. Hopefully, his
cinematic piece makes things much easier using a synthetic voice and a dark
futuristic aesthetic. This track will definitely be locked in your mind! |
