Errare
Humanum Est comes from the Latin proverb "To err is human" as a
musician and a human-being, you are constantly facing "mistakes" on
your compositional work and your instrumental interpretation, Felipe Gordon
presents his second conceptual album under this premise, you should accept
and make mistakes as a crucial part of art and life. During late 2022 and
beginning of 2023, the musician and producer worked on a new long play in his
home studio "El Dorado" in Bogot?, Colombia. Trying to create a
whole new concept and universe he re-visited some forgotten musical sketches,
going from breakbeats, synthesis, boom bap, deep acid and house music Felipe
presents us his new album, a melting pot of musical ideas, again not trying
to achieve a club track filled long play but a whole listening experience,
not focusing only on dancing matters but also on every day musical enjoyment.
With the forward-thinking distribution and collaboration from the Rotterdam
based power house, Clone Records and looking for a way to create a more
independent environment for his releases, Felipe is creating his own
"Wide Awake", a new record label focused only on sharing and
creating a platform for his constant output. As in "A Landscape
Onomatopeya" (Felipe's first LP) Primer Ocaso took over the editorial

Head
hydro-tripper Black Eyes has risen from the depths of the deep to release his
debut solo record Hydro-Trip vol 1. Fresh off the sea creature's back from
co-producing the 'Planet People - Terra Firma EP' with synth botherer Reedale
Rise which came out earlier this year. His solo endeavour takes us on a
jazzier vibe yet still keeping true to the deep ways of the water. Lead track
'Understood Sea Being' plunges us on a rugged ride with deep Detroit chords
and Black Eyes's own punk-like vocals throughout. 'Let's Get Deeper' slows
the pace up with chopped up samples and introduces us to the classic
hydro-trip sound we've grown to love down here in the underwater cities; it's
deep and trippy. 'Scuba Lyfe' picks up the pace a bit but evolves into a low
down dubby groove mixed with some hi-tek jazz. Asking Rolando (who we all
know was part of the infamous Underground Resistance and Los Hermanos, as
well being a Berghain resident DJ more recently) to come on board the
subterranean vessel was an obvious choice for remix. He switches the gears
and adds some fluid Detroit techno to finish off the EP. Berlin based Deskai
masters the EP who also mastered the Planet People EP so you know what to
sonically expect |

Two
years have passed since his last release on Token Records, and now Jeroen
Search is back with his unmistakable style for a lesson in techno production
called 'Shadow Dimension'. Stripped down and minimal, we're reminded that the
original character of this music can be found in the hissing of circuits and
the impact of analog distortion. Wasting no time, Search kicks the record off
at full pace with a spacey arpeggio and resonating percussion. Hiding 'Light
Spinner' in initial obscurity, the Dutchman reveals steady intrigue by
controlling tension and opening up his elements throughout its duration. The
fluttering synthline is quickly exchanged for shuffled hi hats and a brutally
monophonic lead. What begins as a rather two-dimensional track is given depth
by levitating pads wide in the stereo image and competing 909 rides. Still a
rhythm-heavy record, Search gives 'Six Requests' thrilling atmospheres to a
throbbing core. Moving on to the B-side, the seasoned producer starts fresh
with a warbly lead over a layered kick drum in 'Ten Foot Radius'. Keeping
things simple most of the time, Search fiddles lightheartedly with his
parameters to turn his synth into almost noise over a steady percussion. The
quirkiness of the record has a more aggressive underbelly, luring the
listener into a club ready cut. Moving on to the closer 'Restore Balance',
Search does just that. Finding a groove in a quicker percussion-line, bouncy
keys hop about a fun but concentrated record. An ever evolving structure
cutting along, he plays with the dry of his percussion and the wet of his
synths, mastering the unique production style he's known for |

is back and serving us a scorching new summer hit. This time, label boss
Smolny doesn't hold back, unleashing a powerful holiday anthem titled
"Need Love." If you're truly in dire need of some love, this track
is definitely for you! It starts off slowly and nostalgically, seasoned with
a distinct amen break. The growing tension sends shivers down your spine,
while a beautiful trance chord intertwines with a long pad in the background.
Adding to the flavor is a twisted female vocal that seductively flirts with
your senses. It all culminates in a euphoric experience, gradually building
up to release the accumulated energy. Finally, everything explodes as a
strong and expressive bass line hits you like a ton of bricks. The following
track "Running" takes a more tranquil approach, transporting us to
a dreamy realm. Broken drums keep propelling us forward, never allowing us to
pause. The melodic chord gracefully emerges, creating a chill atmosphere and
setting the mood. After the breakdown, grooving bongos complete the picture.
The B-side features two fantastic remixes of the title track, "Need
Love." The first one is a fierce breakbeat roller from Denham Audio.
With its powerful bass and mesmerizing droplets cascading in the background,
it creates a distinct hypnotic atmosphere. The change in bassline to the
typical speed garage sound delivers an even more potent punch at the end. The
second remix is crafted by SLG, who flawlessly captures the sound of the
'97s, creating a track in the progressive trance style from that era. A
brilliantly composed bass line constantly propels the track forward, building
tension alongside the melodic line. A real dance floor killer! |

After
his acclaimed album for us released recently, Ribe comes again into the
mothership with this modular madness EP, proving again his mastery of
intelligent techno and sound design. La penumbra is the first track, as the
title suggests, darkness and shadows come immediately to mind when listening
to it. A solitary bass drum joined by several drones and ambiences
interleaving and mutating over the arrangement. El Metodo follows, electric
and sharp, with repetitive modular bleeps floating over a bass heavy groove.
The only additional elements are percussive and come into the track
progressively until the hypnotic climax. Flipping the record, Las Raices
introduce distortion and roughness on the equation, relying on a powerful
groove soon accompanied by high pitched drones and electric synthetic washes.
Last Tune is Bajo el Olivo, liquid and elastic, with resonant bubbles going
asymmetrically on top of the rhythm with occasional percussive details going
on the back. A sci-fi sequence appears in the middle of the track adding
additional sound hypnosis. No doubt that Ribe has his own trademark sound and
we are really proud of having him onboard |

Years Of Love' is our second label compilation with nine original tracks by
resident artists and friends from around the world. The versatile vibe
spreads across two parts, each dedicated to a certain dancefloor mood: System
108 and RadugaDiscoClub. Outstanding artwork has been created by Uno Moralez.
Part 1 of the compilation is opened by new Locked Club gem that playfully
recycles a well known video meme, 'Smog Izdevatsya'. Followed by Philipp
Gorbachev's industrial / house / dub infused (!) fairy tale about a bird.
('Raven'). The last track of side A comes from our new shooting star,
Maksimovna. Originally sent as a demo, '3a Gribami' tells a story about
collecting mushrooms, it got signed immediately and is destined to become a
big hit! Time to flip the side and enter the kingdom of dark physical beats
and fun acid blackouts on side B: it is Kovyazin D who is back at it with
'Brainwash'. Disconnected electro mind, disconnected electro mind,
disconnected electro mind! Closing out the EP is an exclusive by Inga Mauer.
Rare to hear Inga's vocal experiments provide a transcendental experience in

down down down! Simple Symmetry brothers appear for the first time on the
label with 'Elephant On Speed', a fantastic story about an elephant who is feeling

Deep
within the forests of Rudersdorf, Germany, 1.5 miles outside of Berlin,
exists a forgotten realm, a dark dystopian and deserted place. It is truly
special. Here, menacing towers of an abandoned factory reach into the tarry
ebon void, embracing the eerie atmosphere. It was once known as VEB
Chemiework Rudersdorf; a chemical manufacturing center for farming phosphates
in the late 1800s and later repurposed for the manufacture of Vauxite during
the second world war. The vast area of gigantic factory buildings is filled
with decaying cement structures and is usually deserted and quiet. But not
tonight. On this particular night, wild, untamed acidic tones of underground
Brooklyn acid techno penetrate perfectly. Soon the irresistible sound waves
bring to life whatever ghosts remain here. It was dubbed a "music
research mission" put together by the nonconformist Sonic Groove Records
label. It was the summer of 2020; in the middle of one of the more chaotic
years in planet Earth's recent history. With the planet's entire population
in Covid lockdown and absolutely menaced by a collective fear of the unknown;
DJ Adam X was on a mission, inspired to provide an appropriate soundtrack for
the setting. Accompanied by fellow artists Maedon, Reade Truth, and Sarin,
what followed was a night of magic, as they re-experienced beloved timeless
90s era acid tracks. The massive monolithic buildings served as the perfect
backdrop; a stationary frame for an unexpectedly active sky complete with
flaming meteors, suspicious satellites, and potential UFOs. This intense
nocturnal experience provided the inspiration for Adam X's latest release;
"Rudersdorf" a modern take on his trademark acid sounds.
Simultaneously mechanical and soulfelt, the LP is full of brain-numbing
techno excursions, layered heavily with intense TB303 patterns that slowly
dissolve and melt your brain. This is where the acid underground takes
charge, providing the flawless soundtrack for the unknown. Hard, challenging
grooves for these challenging times. Close your eyes, and visions of
Chemiework slip into focus. The experience makes you wonder: Do we have a
future? Adam X provides an opportunity to dance and maybe not even care |

- Burst Transmission: ASC returns with another stellar solo EP and Burst
Transmission dives straight in head first to kick things off, pulsing crafted
breakbeats and computer FX intertwine and stack with smooth synths, keys and
trademark vocal hits. A powerful undertone bassline perfect for the
dancefloor keeps the momentum going with blissful speckles of detail in the
composition, including expertly tuned bongo drums scattered throughout. A2 -
Whispers: Sci-fi vibes take center stage as ASC channels that classic 720
energy with Whispers, a track which utilises sharp stabbing snares in
distinct, forceful drum patterns which develop and adapt over halcyon
synthwork. Respite comes in the middle of the track as the breaks change and
settle the vibe briefly, before we are thrust forward again with those epic
breaks commanding our attention once more. AA1 - Psionic bond: ASC continues
the retro sci-fi vibes with Psionic Bond, entering with zapping laser FX and
a haunting vocal sample echoing before thunderous breaks thrash their way
into the track, epic kicks and sharp thrusting snares dominate proceedings
while through the wooshing layers of synthwork a distinctive bassy melody
elevates the composition. This one is going to send the lucky discerning dancefloor
into extra-sensory fever. AA2 - Future Music: Ending the EP with something a
little different, Future Music gives us a true taste of the old school brand
new. A building intro lashes you with jabbing bass and effects, classic
hi-hats rattle and slowly the 90's jungle breakbeat edits are released in
waves as the piece progresses. The construction of the breaks is staggered
sparingly, weaved with an influx of effects and samples creating a truly
unique experience |

Vargmal
Records continues to explore immersive, thought-provoking techno with an
abstract spirit by presenting Corners EP from the emergent collaborative UK
project Terrain. The Kosovo-based label was launched in 2022 with a
considered balance of classic and contemporary techno, featuring Italian
techno pioneer Leo Anibaldi and commissioning attendant remixes by
contemporary Italian maestro Donato Dozzy. Continuing the label's embrace of
subliminal sounds for adventurous dance floors, Terrain deliver four tracks
of snaking, subtle rhythms pivoting away from rigid structures towards a more
fluid kind of techno. It's a sound the duo of Joe Baker and Voytek Stanley
channeled on their debut release and they expand on the principles from that
record in superlative style on Corners. The EP opens up with the weighted
pressure of 'Blind Spot', a dense workout pivoting on a fractured kick
punching out underneath interwoven sheets of texture and atmosphere.
'Vintage' develops this theme with dubby chord washes which bloom out over
the fine detail of the deceptively complex beat configuration. 'Corners'
meanwhile adjusts the temperature from cooly meditative to subtly fierce
accents Terrain edge into their sound. It's an elegant fusion that remains at
ease with the overall mood of the EP, but a noticeable shift in energy for
the B side. 'Singularity' completes the picture with additional input from
Localhost, welcoming layers of noisy melodics which sit comfortably on top of
Terrain's dubby pulses. More open and searching than the introspection which
holds sway elsewhere, it's a tonal shift that opens the sound of Terrain out
and brings a sense of balance to their assured second record |

aggression that is deceptively simple yet crawls under the listener's skin.
This carefully crafted EP unveils its complexities by spreading into every cell
of the timbres and sequences within. With influences ranging from minimal
techno, old-school Goa Trance and 90's EBM : "Dysfunctionalism" can

Yuzovskaya's vinyl-only, Berlin-via-Brooklyn Monday Off label continues to
explore techno's shadowy depths; where the music's subtle dynamics unfurl in
intensely cerebral and psychedelic ways. The rising Roman producer Hoedus,
who's previously contributed to one of the Various Artist compilations,
offers three exquisite new tracks on this latest edition to MOFF's catalogue.
The propulsion of opening track Frames rolls in like a summer's evening
thunderstorm; fresh and unrelenting as its elements swirl around the
listener, while ever-crescendoing in subdued intensity. Moving Up Slowly
follows suit, but unlike its namesake, it dives straight into peak time
energy with ravey drones that slowly evolve into an array of tripping tones
that tunnel straight into the brain. The following side begins with MOFF fave
Spanish artist Orbe remixing Moving Up Slowly; its energy further increased
tenfold as otherworldly sounds dance around the main motif with frenetic
intensity. Gravity Zero closes out the EP by simmering away with body-centric

Unhuman
& Petra Flurr is the collaborative synthpunk-technoid project of BITE
label stalwart, Berlin-based Greek artist Unhuman and legendary queer wave
figure Petra Flurr. 'Mala Vida' is their debut album on BITE that further
evolves their sound beyond genre borders. The duo deliver an 8-track LP
consisting of punk body music exhibiting the team's mastery on production,
their androgynous vision and diverse influences. Petra Flurr's staggered,
often effected, vocals cruise over pounding beats, bold iconic hooks and
psychedelic atmospheres. His lyrics reference the seedy underbelly of
Berlin's sex underground. Meanwhile, Unhuman's productions broadly range from
the post-punk references of 'Labyrinth' to the new beat grooves of 'Short
Life' featuring Ukrainian duo Garden Krist to the melodic orchestrations of
'Rush'. All this is reinterpreted by techno duo New Frames on a digital remix
of 'Unzivilisiert'. 'Mala Vida' is a direct inspiration from their debut
performance at Berghain for last year's BITE label night. After which, they
swiftly retreated to the studio to compose, still in their platform heels.
The two paint a coat of neon red over their preexisting batcave of sound.
While the artwork by Liam Noonan compliments the gender fluidness of the
album, distorting and digitally manipulating images of the creators
themselves. Using heavy rhythmics, wavy mandates, an androgynous stare and
unavoidable sexuality, Unhuman & Petra Flurr introduce us to their culled
brand of queer death techno. Always with a wink |

science fiction laden, Traversable Wormhole project celebrates its 10-year

and on the other hand GRUNGE and HEROIN GROOVE oriented PUNK ROCK kicked in
THE MONSTERS released their 2nd studio Album the Hunch ( a tribute title for
HASIL ADKINS) , everybody told them to make good recordings no TRASH CRAP so
they thought to do a proper production and went to a proper good recording
studio to have a fat sound ( for the 1st and last time)...anyway the studio
was way to expensive for the poor TEENAGE PUNK ROCKERS .. they only could
afford recording on side of the record in a professional way while the 2nd
side they recorded LIVE with Sam from THE RADIOATIONS and Jimi Ochsenbein at
a gig they did in 1991 at the ISC CLUB in Bern. That Record was a commercial
success for the band and set them on the Music map of the Music world ,the
Album got licensed and some songs werereleased on other labels as well.. e.g.
the track "Creature from the black lagoon" got released by DIONYSUS
RECORDS out of LOS ANGELES and they called their Style of music GRUNGEABILLY! |

year Robert Hood celebrates the 20th anniversary of his M-Plant label with a
sequence of EPs featuring classic M-Plant releases and rarities remixed and
re-edited, a compilation bringing Hood's huge body of work together and a
series of special events. Kicking off the EP releases, UK techno stalwart
Mark Broom delivers these exceptional edits of 'Untitled 1' from Hood's
series 'Moveable Parts' and 'One Touch' from the 'Minimal Nation' album.
Released in 1995 'Moveable Parts Chapter 1' was seen by many as one of Hood's
greatest EPs. This four-tracker opened with the heavy-hitting 909 and dappled
metallic sounds of 'Untitled 1'. Now, Mark Broom's edit adds even further
depth and a dirty funk feeling to this hypnotic dancefloor killer. In 1994
Robert Hood first released his game-changing 'Minimal Nation' album. It was
so influential that a special edition of this iconic masterpiece was released
in 2009 and still sounded as fresh as ever with its stripped-back grooves
inspiring a new generation of techno producers as it had over a decade
before. Setting the tone was its opener 'One Touch'. On his new edit, Mark
Broom plays with the bass and chops up the beats to intensify this dark mover |
