camp and is now at the controls of his own craft. A dub fanatic, he stays

flights and delays at airports, stayed at hotels with wonderful views
immersed in nature and others, on the contrary, very urban. I must admit that
many of these scenarios were the kick start of the creative process of
"Oscillators EP. This is an EP conceived strictly for the Dancefloor,
and its creation was a perfect combination between air and land, as all the
tracks began on a plane and were developed on land. A very important part of
the creative process when youre working on a track is the mood youre in, and

The
Berlin based Gel Abril kicks off his new "Closed Circuits" label in
a full form presenting a strong record by talented Polish artist Oskar
Szafraniec, a crafted producer, known by his latest 12" on Rawax with
Ricardo Villalobos, EPs on Murge Recordings, Cyclo or collaborations with
Pier Bucci. For the debut release on Closed Circuits, Oskar has collaborated
with the Swedish "Very Addictive" duo and has delivered his best
work to date, a music piece called "Borderline", filled with lush
vocals and hypnotic pads that kicks the label with a proper bang. On the A
side - the label boss himself, Gel Abril, turning "Borderline" into
a burner, with his very own distinctive groove and effected vocals, surely to
be one of the main tracks for 2018! On the flip side, already mentioned
original mix of "Borderline" and another collaboration by Oskar,
this time with legendary Chilean master "Pier Bucci", bringing
minimalistic experimental goodness, perfect for those special after hour

Nikki
Nair is fast becoming one of the most diverse and forward-thinking artists in
electronic music, flying the flag for increasingly hybridized methods and
doing it your own way. His sound is inimitable and cannot be defined; readily
bottling a multitude of emotions in a relatively short space of time. Nikki's
meteoric rise has come in the form of eclectic releases like his 'More is
Different' EP on Dirtybird to the downright filthy and party-starting 'Trying
To' on Bristol's Scuffed Recordings - Influenced by anything from Detroit
techno, to lush ambient soundscapes and Florida breaks. The Knoxville born,
Atlanta based producer continues his journey through shape shifting universes
on his debut for Lobster Theremin, with five different but equally impressive
tracks. 'Shufflin' kick starts the EP in Nikki's signature, unpredictable
style; as squelchy bass-lines growl at heavily swung drums and low pitched
vocal loops, before 'WWC' - an off-kilter minimal stepper, walks the
tight-rope between entropy and synchronized dance. 'I Can't Stop' meanders
from kinky bass & breaks, to deconstructed dubstep and trap; causing more
facial expressions in six minutes than ever thought possible. Nair's
hybridized methods continue to shine through in 'Yoland And His Tortoise' - a

Rhythms EP. A collaborative release from Kucera and Delayed Sentence that

futuristic machine music. Opening cut "Analog Rhythms" sets the
tone with raw propulsion and hypnotic focus. Anchored by a driving low end
and jagged synth pulses, it balances grit with surgical control. A track

On first playing the Au Pairs'
Domestic Departure John remarked that all the tracks on the single were just
as good: this was the beginning of a lengthy relationship between the group
and the DJ that spawned four sessions and multiple airings of their material
including the LP Playing With A Different Sex. Although their songs were
sometimes requested by listeners, none of their material made the Festive
Fifty and their split meant that they were absent from JP's show until the
2000s, when John was inspired to revisit them from a Rough Trade compilation |

fine studio sessions featuring a bunch of jazz heavyweights. Here we have the
perfect tandem of Hank Mobley on tenor sax and Lee Morgan on trumpet. Two
great stylists in full shape, greatly backed by the ultra elastic rhythm
section of Winton Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Charlie Persip on
drums. All true masters of the Bop vocabulary including all the possible
variants from Blues to Latin. This very enjoyable album consists of all
Mobley's originals except the beautiful rendition of Kurt Weil's classic
'Speak Low' |

los 90 después de la muerte de su cantante. Imagínate a Qloaqa Letal con
Black Flag y humor cabrón y enfermizo. Aquí encontrarás su LP inédito más un
CD con su maqueta y temas inéditos. Todo ello acompañado con un libreto. Joya
a redescubrir!!! Después de muchos años al fin se hace justicia y podemos
anunciar esta edición que tanta ilusión nos hace y que pensaríamos que nunca
se haría realidad. Canciones con las que hemos crecido y que nos reafirmaron
en este sonido y pensamiento hasta hoy en día, siendo el punk tan importante
en nuestras vidas, que sin el, no seríamos capaces de entender y soportar
este podrido mundo. Y aún así seguimos sin soportarlo y mucho menos entenderlo.
Los Pugen era un grupo diferente y único. Su musica y letras recibían
influencias variadas, sus composiciones son sencillas, sin demasiadas
florituras, sin apenas arreglos. Trabajaban un estilo muy básico a la par que
efectivo, que precisamente es especial por, a pesar de ello, no sonar como
otras bandas, tener identidad propia. Marcaron esa diferencia, que es la que
ha hecho que el grupo aún sea recordado después de este largo tiempo. Lo que
os presentamos es una recopilación de gran parte del material grabado por
Pugen Virta y nunca antes editado. Por un lado el disco conocido como “Ni en
vivo ni en muerto” y ahora rebautizado como “Actos impuros” que fue grabado
por Juanjo Respuela en 1996. Esto irá en la edición en vinilo que vendrá
junto un CD con la maqueta grabada en 1994 y con temas en directo del
concierto en el Joe Bar (Bezana, 1996) y también del directo en Obregón con
la primera formación de la banda (1987). Habrá una edición en CD formato
digipack con todo el material antes mencionado. Tanto el LP como el CD viene
acompañado de un libreto con la historia de la banda. Arte por Fabio Méndez.
Edición en vinilo 12" (300 copias) y en CD Digipack (200 copias) por los
siguientes sellos: El Forat Records, Fak Records, Prohibido Bailar Records,

was sparked during a drive through Burnley in Melbourne, listening to Angel
in a Raincoat by The Sleepers while passing highway police. The track
expresses a distrust of police, politicians, and media figures, stemming from
ongoing inaction and victim-blaming around femicide, along with concerns
regarding the growing power and militarization of police forces across
Australia. 'Pull The Trigger' takes aim at war mongers, oil barons, and
politicians who benefit from ongoing conflicts and genocide. The song's
narrator finds themself at the end of their tether, ready to take matters
into their own hands |

The
Most Australian Band Ever! - The Secret Origin of the Hard-Ons' is the
soundtrack to the documentary of the same name. It is directed by Jonathan J.
Sequeira for production companies Living Eyes and Play Vintage - the man and
the production house that made the acclaimed 2017 Radio Birdman documentary
Descent Into The Maelstrom. The film premiered in October 2024 at SXSW in
Sydney with a screening and Q&A at the Dendy Newtown, and has now been
played all over the world, receiving multiple awards. Perfectly timed with
the 40th anniversary of the Hard-Ons (2024), The Most Australian Band Ever
offers insight into the band's long existence, with plenty of live footage
and interviews and guest appearances from Dave Faulkner (The Victims, Hoodoo
Gurus), Ross Knight (Cosmic Psychos), Jerry A (Poison Idea), Steven Hanford
aka Thee Slayer Hippy (Poison Idea) and Rob Younger (Radio Birdman). The film
has a particular focus on the Hard-Ons' early days, the obstacles - some
self-inflicted - which they've had to overcome, and the legacy they've built.
The soundtrack to the album contains 15 choice cuts from the early days of
the band as well as dialogue from the film. It’s been a long and punk-rocky
road for our heroes, who formed the band while still in high school in the
multicultural South-West Sydney suburb Punchbowl. Reflecting that
multiculturalism, the core band (despite members come and gone) comprised
three kids of East Asian, South Asian and Eastern European parentage - not
your typical punk rockers of that or any other era. Weened on high energy
rock'n'roll (Kiss!) and then the early punk and post-punk eras (with a focus
on local Australian sounds, in particular the '76/'77 punk of The Saints,
Radio Birdman, Victims, Psycho-Surgeons and News, and the anarchic noise of
The Birthday Party), the new group appeared on a Sydney scene that took
itself fairly seriously. With one foot in the Ramones/Radio
Birdman-influenced garage-punk scene and the other in the spikey-haired
punk-inspired scene of the early ‘80s, the Hard-Ons found a common
denominator of noise and energy and appealed to a young crowd who was open to
anything. With their youthful and unforgiving band name, transgressive and
hilarious graphics and diverse ethnicity, they also found plenty of
resistance. Following the release of their first EP in 1985, the Hard-Ons
quickly began to build a large following. Not content to repeat themselves,
new elements entered their sound, including thrash metal and psychedelia,
which were previously unheard in Australian punk. Their unruly and
un-stylised look, which soon came to involve shorts, thongs and bare torsos,
became something of the look de rigueur in punk circles as the decade wore
on. The Hard-Ons had become trendsetters and were welcomed with open arms in
international punk circles. In their original incarnation, the Hard-Ons
shared bills with the likes of the Ramones and Nirvana and appeared on
numerous Big Days Out. They scored a never-bettered 17 consecutive number 1's
on the Australian independent charts and in 1989 were the only Australian
band still based in Australia to hit the top 5 in the NME charts (the only
Australian artists to have achieved that - Nick Cave and the Go-Betweens –
had both been UK-based). Despite a break-up, the formation of another band
(Ray & Blackie’s other ongoing band Nunchukka Superfly - that band's
original line-up recently launched the long-lost album Nunchukka Superfly '95
in August!) and, in Blackie’s case, a solo career, the Hard-Ons regrouped in
the new millenium and found a whole new audience - kids who knew of their
influence on subsequent groups like the Meanies and Frenzal Rhomb. New
recordings ensued, and in 2018, by which time fans of another new generation
of bands, including Clowns and Private Function were onboard, they undertook
their 19th European tour, when they played the massive metal festival
Hellfest, alongside Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Joan Jett. In 2021, the
core pair of Ray and Blackie and "new" drummer Murray found
themselves a new front person in the form of longtime fanboy, Tim Rogers of
You Am I. Over the years, the Hard-Ons have won the vocal support of artists
like Dave Grohl, AC/DC's Malcolm Young and Jello Biafra amongst countless
others. They’ve influenced not only subsequent generations of punk bands but
a wide-ranging groundswell of Australian alternative artists – from You Am I
to Spiderbait to Silverchair to Regurgitator to Magic Dirt to Powderfinger to
the Dirty Three to The Chats – each of whom have been inspired by the
Hard-Ons’ energy, free spirit and uncompromising dedication |

repress - Techno mainstay Gary Beck drops hugely sought-after cut 'Hopper' on
SHDW's Mutual Rytm sub-label Spectra, with remixes from KiNK. Glasgow-born
Gary Beck is a primary figure in techno and has been for well over a decade.
Dropping seminal underground classics and cultured full-lengths on an array
of leading labels, as well as his own BEK Audio imprint, he has also led the
way as a revered DJ as his legacy continues to build. Now, adding to his
standout 'Upside Criminal' EP as well as his well-received track 'Fold' on
the 'Federation Of Rytm III' VA, he returns with a record that has often
featured in both his and Mutual Rytm boss SHDW's sets, stepping out on the
label's Spectra series with a cut that has long been sought-after by those
who know. A spontaneous studio moment turned club weapon, the timeless
'Hopper' merges a syncopated disco bassline with subtle nods to funk and
classic dancefloor energy. It's one of those tracks that lingers in your head
long after the night ends - a pure embodiment of Beck's raw energy and
production finesse built on an infectious groove full of contrast and
character. Bulgarian synth wizard, hardware genius and tireless innovator
KiNK delivered Spectra's inaugural release, so he lands as the perfect person
to remix. His first interpretation stays close to his roots with a
house-leaning, slowed down take that channels warmth and groove in equal
measure. On the B2, however, he flips the script with a high octane fusion of
techno and UKG. It's a peak-time anthem engineered to ignite dancefloors and
closes out a standout EP with the third release in the Spectra catalogue.

90s techno cuts, with offshoot imprint X building on the main imprint's
DJ-friendly tools to delve deeper into a broader spectrum of electronic
music. Founded in 2022, SHDW's Mutual Rytm label has quickly become one of
techno's most supported labels, with wide-reaching love and well-earned hype
following a series of carefully curated VA offerings and solo EPs from a
wealth of the scene's best. Continuing to push the pace, with more records
capturing high-quality, fresh soundscapes, April brings a new project to the
mix with the launch of a new sub-label X, with techno pioneer Exos drafted to
deliver the first instalment. Hailing from Iceland, the Planet X boss is a
master of crafting perfect dancefloor weaponry. Over the last twenty years,
his high-octane sounds have come via vital labels like Figure and X/OZ, never
failing to make an impact with both DJs and dancers. Whether dubby or hard,
his techno is always authentic and channels the purity of the 90s sound, and
he brings this signature sound to four fresh productions across his
'Infrared' EP, marking an impressive debut for both label and artist. The
title cut 'Infrared' opens up the package in style and showcases a track that
looks set to be a go-to anthem for many in the months ahead. With searing
synth lines and drilling bass, the blistering production delivers a
thrilling, high-impact techno sound that will devastate the dancefloor. The
well-designed 'Kaldur Klaki' ups the ante even more with tightly coiled loops
of drums, rusty hi-hats and stuttering synth lines that canter along with a
muscular feel. 'The Bad' is twitchy and paranoid, anxiety-riddled techno that
is perfect for dark warehouses and freaky dancers before digital bonus
'DS4BR' lands with a more stripped-back aesthetic with dubby undercurrents
and static electricity fizzing across the face of the cut. Each of the
releases on Mutual Rytm X will be available on limited edition, coloured

Continuing
its faithful documentation of the early years of Monolake, Field Records
proudly present the first-ever vinyl pressing of seminal 1999 album
Interstate. In a kaleidoscopic lattice of micro-rhythms and exquisitely
dynamic textural work, Robert Henke and Gerhard Behles fully collaborated for
the final time on this record — and created an electronica landmark in the
process. Monolake's evolution from their earlier dub-techno-tinted works saw
their exploration of Max/MSP go further out. The duo yielded greater
complexity in the behaviour of their sound palette to achieve an organismic
quality that remains an enduring influence on so many strands of experimental
electronic music today. Interstate is a vivid record that builds up eight
different ecosystems of sound and subtly threads elegant grooves through
their root structures. There's a house-like undulation to the low-end driving
'Tangent-I' and 'Tangent-II', but the infinitesimally detailed layers of
sound on top swoon from techno synth shimmers to trickling waters, snaking
delay trails and pin prick percussion. You can hear the unmistakable, snappy
rhythmic thrust of drum & bass driving 'Ginza', but here it's used as an
engine for the crispest array of designer percussion and dub-soaked synth
chirrups. Across every track, Henke and Behles demonstrate a potent
combination, both groovily instinctive and eternally fascinating to try and
pick apart. After Interstate, Behles departed to focus entirely on the
development of Ableton Live and Henke steered Monolake towards a leaner — but
no less pioneering — sound. Every Monolake record has its own unique context
and sound, and the circumstances of Interstate could never be repeated.
Capturing the leaps in progress that were being made in digital music
production at the end of the millennium, it's an information-rich document of
a moment in time that still sounds wildly futuristic 27 years later |

The
Trip To Vega is the new album by Jeff Mills and is about deep outer space
odyssey that occurs in the process of traveling from Earth through the Cosmos
to another "favorable" star system 25.3 light-years away. The time
is year 2097, Sept 23rd. To this day, Earthlings have managed to dodge some
of nature's more dangerous extremities, massive volcanic eruptions,
Earthquakes, solar burst that knocked out the Planet's entire electrical grid
for 3 years, numerous plagues of disease, food and fresh water shortages,
domestic and International Wars and many other life-changing operas, but for
this event, what remains is a realization that has no remedy. The cause:
Earth's physicality has changed. It is no longer favorable for living things.
It is the constant shifting of the planet's internal tectonic plates which
has unfortunately produced an unexpected and impassable dilemma. Because of
the collisions, deep within the planet's core, the planet is now producing an
extraordinary amount of sound that includes a specific harmonic frequency
that erodes the natural senses of all life on Earth. It is intensifying. It
is intolerable and it is unlivable. Yet, some humans prefer to stay, to
"ride it out" like the Titanic captain going down with his ship.
Some, in total disbelief as some have concluded it is the second coming of
Jesus Christ. But for most, the decision is clear. Tolive another day,
leaving is the only rational choice. At an increasing rate, scientific
research data shows that humans and most animals, excluding the Jellyfish
will eventually lose the usage of hearing and are to greatly suffer from an
array of other neurological and psychological effects. The sense of touch and
taste, sleep depreciation, severe nerve damage, constant hallucinations.
Everyone will lose many of their cognitive abilities within an estimated 12
months from now. On this day and every 7 days afterwards until all registered
passengers have departed, the first of a fleet of large number of massive size
spacecraft carrying approximately 1 million humans per vessel will
permanently leave Earth to begin the long and adventurous trek across outer
space to a new home: Vega. This is not a precautionary tale as there is
nothing to learn. Instead, a decision has been made and a Trip To Vega is the

Lisbon classic by now, Paraiso (a label, a radio show, a party and now also a
documentary) is back for its 19th release with a pairing who's no stranger to
the label or the portuguese techno underground: lucky for us, head honcho
Shcuro got back in the studio with techno legend in the making Vil to make
Repercussions part 2 - and they invited iconic Spanish producer Annie Hall
(Delsin, CPU) as a remixer. The record opens with a tour de force, the
relentless yet perfectly in control, mutanting and experimental yet elegant
and timeless 'Motorik'. In it, you can hear echoes of Detroit groove sense,
but also a generous splash of dub sonics seamlessly merging into pure peak
time, closed eyes, layers of ear-candy hypnotizing you type of stuff. Things
strip back a little in 'Emergence Dub' - still immersive fast techno
ammunition, but there is a playful, experimental and sometimes ravey spirit
to it, with a wonky mutating key, vocal pads and cheeky percussion working
together to create a stunning modern dance piece. Side B is inaugurated by
'Origins', a deep bow to dub traditions with delay-drenched stabs and a
bouncy bassline for days. An energetic yet dreamy piece with spoken word
samples that will have your heart melt, it perfectly mirrors the duo's influences
in a beautiful closing original. Annie Hall steps in for the remix, taking A2
'Emergence Dub' into Breaks geographies, with a talking bassline fit for an
electro banger, and the ever-present pads sending us off in zen mode after a
delightful ride |

Hat's off to the wonderful Trunk
label for shining a light on the little-known work of
radiophonic/experimental electronic/soundtrack composer Elizabeth Parker.
Chances are you may have heard her work for radio or television with
realising it as she was part of the Radiophonic Workshop from 1978. It's kind
of unfathomable that Future Perfect is the first-ever collection of her work,
but then she was working in a male-dominated industry, so there you go.
Better late than never! In compiling the 26 tracks here, an astonishing 260
DATs were listened through which gives some indication of Parker's vast
archive. Hopefully, this will go some way in cementing Parker's place in
history alongside Daphne Oram and Delia Derbyshire |

lights, Boys' Shorts go deeper still with the leading oscillations of ‘Stereo
on Acid’, in which classic, wobbly-hearted 808 sounds flirt playfully with a

INVITES vinyl series, as is tradition, in this third volume Dig-It and Fixon
as hosts of the label invite 2 artists to join them and release original 4
tracks on a special edition 12' vinyl. In this edition we wanted to make a
special fusion between Mexico and Italy, as well as a tribute to the
Neapolitan sound, which in the 2000s was responsible for a very important
contribution to the world techno scene, so we have invited one of the artists
we love, respect and admire the most, one of the pillars of the expansion of
this sound and of the history of techno music, the one and only Gaetano
Parisio, on the other hand we have a prodigious musician, who has known how
to carry the banner of Naples with dignity and taking it to the next level,

more than a year and a half of consistent output, KYSH returns to vinyl with
its second physical release. Following a streak of four VA compilations, nine
solo EPs and a strong debut on wax, the label keeps its momentum - expanding
its roster while refining a distinct, contemporary techno identity shaped by
both emerging names and established forces. KYSH-002 brings together four
artists representing different shades of the current sound. Opening track
"Activ" sees SEIGG return shortly after his solo EP, delivering a
signature glitch-driven banger with a powerful, instantly recognizable hook.
Alarico follows with "Tears", building emotional tension through
his characteristic chopped vocal work and driving arrangement. On the flipside,
Fenim0re's "My Last Descent" shifts into a more restrained,

Casino isn't just a track to me.
It comes straight from my love for the classic Italian American gangster
films I grew up on. Being Italian, I was obsessed with movies like Casino and
Goodfellas. I've watched them more times than I can count. The style, the
tension, the way the characters talk and carry themselves always hit me
differently. The idea for this track actually came from one of those iconic
moments: a scene between De Niro and Pesci as their relationship starts to
unravel. I'd seen it countless times, but this time I stopped and thought:
what if I used this in a track? Would it elevate the music or would I ruin
one of the greatest films ever made? That thought lit the spark. I wanted to
capture that same energy. The power. The danger. The drama. And bring it into
sound. Casino is the result. Raw, cinematic, and authentic. I hope it hits

leans further into its proposed aesthetic of biting club tracks with a brand
new release by Cirkle. 'Infinity Drift' balances powerful sound system sound
design with lush ambiance, creating standout moments on a dancefloor with a
taste of nostalgia. These tracks explore the richness in themes that techno
can have when made by someone who's spent years meticulously crafting it.
'Skyland' asserts itself first with impressive pace. Swift chord stabs open
and close to create waves of excitement and craze in the track while
percussion shuffles along to add impact; Cirkle is an artist of all rooms and
dimensions. Shrill sound design cuts through the stereo field creating a
wormhole in the middle of rhythmic determination. Tension balance and
anticipation are his specialty and every transition whips his dispersed
elements into singularity in the EP, specifically the title track. A truly
musical piece that embraces the crowd with vintage warmth, 'Infinity Drift'
tones down the dissonance in exchange for something closer to astral
exploration. These larger than life themes are never lost on dancers and
serve to unify the dancefloor into an organism instead of pushing sound
system violence. This is a theme that is omnipresent in Cirkle's music and
carried through into 'Stimulus'. Here, the Greek producer dips into the
hypnotic bordering on psychotic, stretching arpeggios and delays across drum
transitions and time. The dimension of 'Stimulus' matches the preceding
tracks with ease, but stands out in its effect, rolling a powerful synth
through reliably tuned percussion. For the final track, 'Impulse' sees Cirkle
prioritizing the importance of drums. Pressing hard on the drive of the kick,
rides and filtered claps squeeze their way out of the low end to create an
infectious groove. Stabs of ethereal pads envelope the rest of the EP,
leaving space for the rest to breathe. Bumping along the way, Cirkle lands
the EP with class, cementing himself further as an artist whose knowledge of
the dancefloor creates a singular experience |

Rytm welcomes new school tastemakers Klint and Hemka to sub-label Versus for
imprint's second drop. SHDW's Mutual Rytm welcomes back two standout label
alumnus for the second edition of Versus, a newly-launched conceptual
sub-label focused around two artists whose sound works individually and in
unity. Hemka made an impressive and well-received debut with her full solo EP
back in 2025, while Klint appeared on 'Federation of Rytm IV'. Both artists
hail from France, and have crafted a well-earned reputation for their own
distinctive approaches to sound design - pairing locked in grooves with
cosmic synth escapes. Across the EP, each artist delivers three individual
takes on techno to make for an essential collection of high-end cuts,
exploring the label's ethos of creative symbiosis between two artists on one
shared release. Klint's tracks lean towards minimal yet highly effective,
dance floor-focused DJ tools, starting with the lithe, stripped back menace
of 'Prism', before the sparse eeriness of 'Dobermann' keeps you looking over
your shoulder while remaining trapped in the groove. Third cut 'Romance' is
more bold and muscular, with contoured drums and icy pads ramping up the
tension and energy. Hemka then dives deeper into a hypnotic and anthemic
direction while introducing her own voice into the mix. 'Leave It' is
textured, percussive deep techno with shadowy whispers, while 'Breathe' has a
dark, grinning undercurrent and scintillating snares fluttering over the
drums. 'Mindness' then pairs spoken word atmospherics with taught drum
pressure and an ethereal backlit glow. In addition, Klint's digital only cuts
'1112' and 'Blue' marry minimal synths with meticulously defined drums that

Lula Announces Syntax: A Singular Vision Connecting Ambient Meditations and
Hypnotic Techno. San Francisco-born, Berlin-based artist Chloe Lula announces
the launch of Syntax, a record label that codifies her unique position within
the electronic music landscape. Arriving as the definitive home for her work
as a DJ, producer and cellist, Syntax follows her established residency at
Tresor and acclaimed releases on foundational labels including Mord,
Blueprint and the highly esteemed experimental imprint Subtext. Her label is
the culmination of a decade spent as both a participant in and a defining
voice in the scene-a space where Lula's deep and cohesive vision of
electronic music finally converge. The label's name refers to the arrangement
of elements to forge new meaning, a philosophy Lula applies to her singular
musical grammar. Whether through her slow-burning, exacting techno or her
instrumental compositions, Lula's work is characterized by a patience that
understands nuance and counterpoint. This vision is reflected in the label's
structure: releases will arrive in thematic series that bypass traditional
genre markers to focus on atmosphere, immersion and hypnotica. The imprint's
debut, SYN-PLS01, marks the beginning of the Pulse series, a collection
specifically engineered for the floor. For this inaugural release, Lula took
recordings from Swiss electroacoustic composer Alexandra Bellon as a
jumping-off point, molding Bellon's architectural sense of space into six
tracks of driving techno. Future series will expand the catalog into ambient

- In itself, as a name invented for a band, it's significant. MO comes from
"MOdulazione." DEM comes from ''DEModulazione'', logical functions
in analog and digital transmissions. And the signal that the Bologna duo
AMIN-PECK want to give us is that "Your Fun" and
"Valerie" contain artistic and musical information, especially
avant-garde, created in an electronic style with strong new wave tendencies,
but absolutely ahead of its time. Among the Italian discos of end 70s that
represented a cultural phenomenon that has remained in the collective
imagination, ''Picchio Rosso'' stands out. Besides serving as an
entertainment venue for thousands of young people, it served as a bridge
between DJs and many talented young musicians. The discotheque was the
laboratory for 4 Italo-Disco productions, all recorded at the Amin-Peck
studios in Bologna, under the direction of Giancarlo Meo, who, after the
successes of Easy Going and Vivien Vee and other Claudio Simonetti productions
such as Capricorn and Kasso, enjoyed great esteem and prestige. This is how
excellent Italo-Disco songs like "Another Song" by Music Service,
"Eve of Destruction" by Vivien Vee, "Boogaboo" by The
Jugglers, and "Running Straight" by Amin-Peck were born, the latter
being the true musical architects of Peecker Melody, including the one-off
project MODEM.. What can be said about "Your Fun" and the
instrumental "Valerie"? Simple, slightly hypnotic, wellconstructed,
and catchy songs. Just as the two songs were mixed by various Picchio Rosso
DJs of the time--Luca Zanarini and Silver were the most legendary--Best
Record has reissued them, with the same cover designed by Leonard Parker and
featuring Claude Gorial, the man who 40 years ago designed the original cover
and the current reissue. Same names, same success !!!" |

The third installment of the
Collaborations series by Artefakt on their own De Stijl imprint welcomes
KMRU. The Nairobi-born, Berlin-based sound artist is known for his immersive
use of field recordings, ambient textures and experimental compositions. Together
they recorded an extended dialogue rooted in improvisation, shaped by
environment and close listening. Artefakt and KMRU blur the lines between
ambient, acoustic and electronic forms, creating a spacious and contemplative
collection of improvisations |
