Blank
Code start 2014 off strong with their latest EP Rituals of Submission,
produced by Luis Flores, with remixes by Black Asteroid and DJ Hyperactive.
The opening track Discipline starts off with a nice creepy atmosphere
supported by a solid kick and just the right amount of percussion to hook you
into the tracks core rhythm, which stays consistent while the supporting
percussion keeps the intensity of the track in constant motion. Black
Asteroid's Discipline remix gives the track a whole new perspective, while
staying true to the original's excellent use of classic elements. The
straightforward kick and upbeats work perfect with this track's industrial
bassline, while cleverly programmed analog synths carry the track with slow
triplet rhythms, and quirky stabs that drift off to space. Luis Flores'
second original composition, The Word, follows the same philosophy as
Discipline, with many elements coming together to form one solid rhythm. This
is a huge sounding track with intricate metal percussion and pitch modulated
stabs that form a dark and inciting hook which is overtaken by filtered claps
as the track progresses |

Hard-hitting drums that fire down
onto the dance floor like cannon balls. Check! Intense key patterns that are
as twisted as they are uplifting. Check! Beautiful melodies that seamlessly
interlock with each element. Check! Big-sounding, infectious grooves and
killer hooks generously sprinkled with the infamous Fitzpatrick magic over
the top. CHECK! In short, this EP is everything we have come to expect from
Alan over his long history with Drumcode (this is his 10th EP as a solo
artist!), but still his sound remains fresh and super-charged for 2015. (contains a sample from "The

In January 1988, after only ten
shows, Fugazi decided to go into Inner Ear Studio to see what their music
sounded like on tape. They tracked 11 songs, ten of which were ultimately
dubbed to cassette tape and distributed free at shows, with the band encouraging
people to share the recording. The only song from the session that has been
formally released was "In Defense of Humans," which appeared on the
State of the Union compilation in 1989. Now, some 26 years later, Dischord is
releasing the entire demo including the one song ("Turn Off Your
Guns") that wasnt included on the original cassette. The record has been
mastered by TJ Lipple |

David Flores surfaces as Audio
Injection with No Key EP, two slabs of pristine techno for the new year.
After owning 2011 & 2012 with over a dozen releases as Truncate, Audio
Injection flexes some production muscle to put out a sound that's as huge as
it is hypnotic. The A side features Deep Thought, a seven-minute obsession
around a short melodic fragment that speeds at 130 BPM through a paranoid
passage of beguiling rhythm. The B side features title track No Key, a
demolishing groove that builds and breaks but never lets go. Machined
percussion and tonal beats carve their way through an arena-sized rabbit hole
with detail and dimension |

On ‘Cosmic Microwave Background’
AnD put their full scope to work. The result was a record that fidgeted
restlessly between a bleeding dancefloor and more airy machinist musings. But
even suspended somewhere deep in the voids of space, the duo’s industrial
insignia was never too far away. To remix the record, then, it made sense to
honour it’s foundations with a carefully curated cast gathered from techno’s
outer rim. Released as a two-part EP, the album’s eerie, soothing closer gets
picked up by Speedy J and Lucy as Zeitgeber and Black Rain who turn in polar
re-workings of “The Surface Of Last Scattering”. The monstrous“Galactic
Motion” also gets treated to a Black Rain overhaul, true to the group’s
seminal post industrial and punk lineage.Sleeparchive and O/H—the union of
David Foster of Huren and Teste, and Orphx’s Richard Oddie—both plump for
“Power Spectrum”, one of AnD’s typical sledgehammer works. The original near
pales in comparison to what the pair deliver here |

There’s
no denying it, we’re thrilled to present the next release on EPM Music – a
double-header from the M-Plant master himself. Further still, for the first
time this EP unites Hood’s two dancefloor personalities on a brand new
release. With one track as Robert Hood and the other under his Floorplan
alias we certainly get the best of both worlds. Off the back of his
comprehensive celebratory compilation, ‘M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant Music’
and a gruelling gig schedule, the fact that Hood still finds time to make
astounding new music is testament to his unique talent and drive. After all
it’s a calling for this maestro. ‘Shaker’ immerses you in those late-night
moments when Robert graces the decks. It’s pulsating and hypnotic;
stripped-back to the essentials. The beats, the groove, the perfectly placed
vocal snippet – nothing is superfluous here. Robert’s Floorplan touch is all
over ‘Ritual’. A shuffling Chi-town flavour, trademark hi-hats and a beast of
a bassline underlies the track, with elegant synths that build to dizzying
heights. This is certainly one release that deserves a double-A-side tag |

Records' legacy with RATOS DE PORAO comes to a 4th head-kicking chapter!
"Feijoada acidente? - Brasil" for the first time on vinyl in a
special audiophile version sounding better than ever!! RxDxPx are hands down
the undisputed kings of South American Thrashcore/Punk delivering their fast
and aggressive brand of Hardcore since 1981. On this album recorded in 1995
and originally released on CD by Roadrunner Records, they pay homage to the
early Brazilian bands that together with them helped on shaping their
country's underground scene whose sound and attitude is so unique and
original both when it comes to pure mind blowing Thrash or when it's plain,
energetic PunkRock. So the choice of bands covered by RxDxPx on this
monsterpiece ranges from the corrosive Thrashing explosions of crossover
maniacs like LOBOTOMIA and PSYCHIC POSSESSOR, to the no frills Punk/Hardcore
aggression of OLHO SECO, INOCENTES, FOGO CRUZADO, RESTOS DE NADA, HINO MORTAL
to the 3-chord PunkRock of GAROTOS PODRES, CASCAVELLETES, PSYKOZE |

AVIADOR
DRO, the group conceived by Servando Carballar and Arturo Lanz, is without a
doubt one of this countrys most important groups, and they are true
electronic music pioneers, under the influence of bands like DEVO and
KRAFTWERK. Thats why it is an incredible honor for Elefant Records to be able
to release, as a part of our "Recuerdos Que Olvid" collection, this
double album that includes demos, previously unreleased versions, rarities,
and big hits from the period before the release of their second album,
"Sntesis: La Produccin Al Poder", in 1983. Whats more, many of the
songs included on this album have never been released on vinyl before. We can
find a few songs from their first album, "Alas Sobre El Mundo", two
songs from the Maxi-Single "Programa En Espiral", and one song from
the Single "Nuclear Si", which was the first release on DRO (Discos
Radioactivos Organizados, the label AVIADOR DRO created to release their
albums after their brief period with the Movieplay label). All of these
releases are practically impossible to find nowadays in their original
format, and they are real collectors items |

with dancing souls. Indeed, only in techno, someone can find his lost soul
and Marco proves that again. This extraordinary package includes as well the
monumental Joey Beltram remix on Marco Bailey's ''Sniper'' and last but not
least a new hot remix by the one and only Mark Reeve on Marco's recent hit
''Something I Remember''. Techno is the way, and those 3 gems are definitely
3 equally great paths to find the light and your lost souls! |

Having
both been on the scene for over twenty years, Mote Evolver's founder Luke
Slater and Dutch producer Steve Rachmad are considered veterans of the techno
scene – both outlasting the genre's various dips and flourishes in
popularity. This considered, Rachmad's debut on Mote Evolver seems all the
more highly anticipated. Operating under his Sterac guise, Rachmad's
inaugural contribution to the label comes in the form of four hypnotic,
rolling drum-machine experiments. Rachmad's formula across the EP is a
spartan, uncluttered one. Even the track titles (Stroke 1 - 4) suggest he has
taken some pains not to complicate proceedings unnecessarily, instead letting
the music stand for itself. In the wrong hands the use of Roland 808's can
feel like a tired cliché when it comes to techno, yet Rachmad's manipulation
of the tool is nothing short of masterful. There is a buoyancy to his
thudding rhythms, filtered hats shuffling effortlessly above raw 4/4 pulses.
This trait is defined right from the offset - 'Stroke 1' marching forward
steady and resolute |

Paradise'
is Robert Hood's debut album release as Floorplan, a dancefloor alias he has
used since he announced his Drama imprint with the highly sought after 'Funky
Souls' EP in 1996. Taking Hood's minimal techno approach and embellishing it
with elements of house, disco, funk and gospel Floorplan now realizes its
full-length potential some 17 years since its inception. Good things, indeed,
come to those who wait. The last five
years have seen Robert Hood in astonishingly prolific form with an album
release every year since the 2009 re-issue of the genre defining 'Minimal
Nation'. This was swiftly followed a year later by new artist album 'Omega',
then Robert's first live album 'Omega:Alive' in 2011 and last year's highly
lauded 'Nighttime World 3' which graced end of year charts across the
world. Now Robert Hood focuses his
attention firmly on the dancefloor. Since the 2010 'Funky Souls' re-press on
Rush Hour re-introduced the hibernating project, Hood has since released
three Floorplan EPs including 'Living it Up', the 'Sanctified EP' and last
year's 'Altered Ego' EP |

Robert
Hood's Minimal Nation is justly revered as one of the most important and
defining techno records ever made. His iconic 1994 masterpiece stripped dance
music back to the barest of elements yet retained a loose and dirty funk that
many so called 'minimal' records lack today. Having inspired 1000's of
producers and DJs across the globe and starting a genre a decade before it
was popularly recognized nothing before or since has sounded like it. We now
welcome a re-mastered Special Edition of this classic release 15 years after
it changed the face of techno.
Featuring the unreleased 'SH-101' (made during the same sessions) and the
very rare 'Self-Powered' (which only appeared on the Axis test press), Robert
Hood's Minimal Nation gets its first full CD and digital release. When first released as a vinyl double-pack
'Minimal Nation' not only sounded unlike any other record but also looked
like no other, with each track finishing in a locked groove that forced the
listener to flick the needle to the next track. Each groove was built from
harsh angular elements that when combined created an alien funk not bereft of
warmth or soul |

First
ever vinyl reissue of 1987's opera rock by Spain's legendary punk band
Eskorbuto. Housed in a controversial gatefold sleeve, the double LP is a
political satirical work against any kind of dictatorial regime. "Los
demenciales chicos acelerados" is Eskorbuto's fourth studio album,
originally released by Discos Suicidas in 1987. It was their most ambitious
project, a double LP rock opera in the vein of "Quadrophenia" by
their beloved The Who. It tells the story of an unscrupulous young man who
wishes to achieve power at all costs, stepping over everyone and everything
in order to do whatever he wants politically. In the end, he falls due to his
ego and is betrayed by those around him. Hence lines such as "crowds are
a nuisance", "I'll come unscathed out of the attacks planned by my
image consultant" or "shouting in front of the scum". In 1988
band members Iosu and Juanma narrated the album's concept and story on a
Radio Euskadi show, the Basque Country's public broadcaster. This satirical
political plot also explains the controversial Nazi pictures on the front and
back covers |

One of the lost DIY classics from
'79 gets a deserved facsimile reissue. Psykik Volts were a group of
18-year-olds from West Yorkshire, UK who formed in 1978 influenced by The
Clash, Sex Pistols, etc. The band broke up soon after this self-financed Peel
favourite came out on the Ellie Jay label, but in that brief time they
produced a rough and off the wall new wave gem |

Lapiana, Ken Karter and Kwartz.“Unwise Remix Series” has the involvement of
artists which represent Synthek & Audiolouis main points of reference and
inspiration, artists who acknowledged the potential of Unwise and accepted to
get involved in a great re-edition of the principal cuts of the album. Tadeo
inaugurates this first installment with an outstanding reinterpretation of
“Thread Between Us”. Keeps the aggressive mood of the original, raising the
impetus with slender hi-hats, haunting chords and devilish synthlines, all
elements that clearly manifest the powerful imprint of the spanish producer.
Aubrey concludes the first side with a sophisticated rework of “Broken Pad”:
an unpredictable groove made of fluctuating bleeps and drums, embraced by
spacey soundscapes strewn with sonic drills and fragments. Delivering the
final blow on the flipside, Polar Inertia’s work can be seen more like a long
journey, than an actual remix of Unwise, main track which gives the name to
the album |

Few
artists have made such an undeniable impression on Token as London based
Ashley Burchett, aka Ø [Phase]. Since debuting on the label in 2006, Burchett
has scarcely looked back, releasing an impressive slew of EPs as well as his
meticulously crafted debut LP Frames of Reference all via Token. His latest
release, the 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12" captures perfectly
the grainy, oddball approach which has garnered Burchett's productions so
much attention in recent years. Following pounding releases by Makaton and
Ctrls, as well as the Aphelion compilation on which Burchett featured,
'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' shows a flair and originality rarely
matched. There is little concession made for patient build-ups across the
release, 'Tunnel Vision' for example surging forward with pummelling low-end
and jagged percussion right from its opening. The track operates at whirlwind
speeds, so much so that the combination of Burchett's twirling, ethereal
chords and steadily intensifying percussive work is almost overwhelming.
'Internal Conflict (Acts 1-3)' on the other hand flirts with a more
old-school brand of techno |

Token certainly have their staples - Ctrls,
Ø [Phase] or Inigo Kennedy making regular appearances. The last release on
Token for example, Ø [Phase]'s 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12"
showed the producer enjoys a level of familiarity with the label, allowing
him to indulge his more leftfield tendencies, resulting in some truly
captivating dancefloor moments. Just
as often Token will ingratiate new talent to the roster however, continuously
reshaping their boundaries. The most recent record comes from one such new
addition. In the wider sense though, it'd hardly be fair to call Parisian
producer Antonin Jeanson aka Antigone fresh-faced. Since debuting in 2011 on
Zadig's then relatively new Construct Re-Form label, Jeanson has enjoyed an
impressively consistent run of releases, despite his penchant for sounds
which are a little out of the ordinary.
His inaugural release with Kr!z's Token Records, the 'Cantor Dust' EP,
is similarly reflective of his inclination to mix the abstract with the
functional. Jeanson's movements across the release are difficult to second
guess – 'Anna Livia' opens with Klaus Schulze reminiscent, spacial electronica,
yet the serenity doesn't last for long |

Inigo Kennedy's Vaudeville LP was
undoubtedly one of Token's highlights of 2014. Now, following hot on the
heels of Antigone's twisting 'Cantor Dust' EP and Ø [Phase]'s sweltering
'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12", 'Requiem', a standout cut from
the album has been resurrected across an all-star remix EP from the label.
The release sees some of the most notable figures operating in the techno
scene today turn their hand to the track, from sonic explorer Efdemin to
Birmingham veteran Karl O'Connor, aka Regis.
The original's twisted melodies are beautifully fragmented across
Efdemin's opening offering. The Berlin based artist drops the mesmeric riff
down a few semitones, unleashing them alongside nitro-charged rhythms.
Dial-tone bleeps and razor sharp hats are set in contrast to the original's
sleek, melancholic synthesiser-play, vaulting forward swelteringly
intense. As the EP progresses the
interpretations seem to get progressively more bent out of shape. Raster
Noton mainstay Kangding Ray for example provides a skittering, paranoid
recast of the track. Groaning, ethereal soundscapes hover imposingly above
thudding, broken-beat rhythms and jagged hi-end drones |

A true product of Toronto's
thrillingly cosmopolitan Grooving Pot, this Chinese-Italian duo is quickly
earning a rep for crafting highly effective acid tracks with just a hint of
banger. They initially earned notice with their first EP, 'Vaporizer,' on This
Is Music, before making fans out of some big names with THESE tracks, with
Brodinski championing 'Body Acid' and forcing Turbo's A&R Vibetrust to
perk up their unbelievably jaded ears. If you aren't sold on the
Ontario-buzz, then maybe you'll pay attention to two awesome remixes by the
bombest Bulgarian, Kink. The 'Deep' mix is a lush, throbbing body-rub, and
the 'Acid' version is a highlight-reel of peak time mayhem, already caned and
charted by Erol Alkan and Tiga. If nothing else, "Body Acid" is a
vital reminder that acid goes into your body. That's just the way it works |

third release, after his early 2013 debut on the label is Amsterdam based
Doka, with a three track EP including an original production, ‘Ask’ and
featuring two stellar, yet complimentary remixes from two Spaniards, NX1 and Aiken.
Doka, following consistent in his style delivers a raw melodic track,
stripped down with pounding percussions while an unrefined static dances
above the beat. Barcelona-based label owners of Rising Label, NX1, manipulate
the rhythm of the synth into an elegant hypnotic drive.Alternatively, the
Madrileños, Aiken, hailing from Non-Series and Semantica, gives the track a
whole new flavor as a throbbing bass sends vibrations through your body while
agitated chords flutter throughout the piece. All three tracks, intense and
