The
second installment of 12" EP from EXHIBITIONIST 2 DVD+CD due out in
September 2015. All the tracks are created by Jeff Mills during the session
in the Studio Mix in the DVD, where the audience can see and learn how Jeff
Mills produces tracks.“Expanding the art form of Techno Music has always been
an agenda that needed constant monitoring because it has the ability to
greatly evolve and develop with each and every idea that is put forth and
materialized. At angles that are not easy to see or recognize for most of the
listening and dancing audiences, I’ve always felt that Techno dance music
remains a mystery and would probably make more sense to people if they were
allowed chances to understand how the music is being made and programmed – to
witness this process from the beginning to the end. The Exhibitionist 2 DVD
is designed to go even deeper into the art form to display, not only how a DJ
uses the latest technology, but how he thinks in real time to create and work
spontaneously like a musician playing a acoustic instrument or a soloist
thinking of rhythms on-the-spot |

Adam Beyer is back on Drumcode
with an impressive array of tracks that will get the senses tingling and
shows us what Drumcode is all about. These 4 tracks are deep and almost
melancholic in their approach to techno, using effects to really help enforce
an ambience only Beyer can achieve within his productions. The under lying
throbbing of the drums drives this EP into the forefront of the heads down
Drumcode sound and have been heard in many of Beyer's phenomenal sets

Figures creator Len Faki steps in
to the spotlight once again with his brand new >Street Dub< EP.
Constantly striving for excellence in sound design and deadly arrangements,
Fakis wonderfully precise and well honed strand of club techno continues to
shine on Figures 70th release - a classic example of Lens tireless approach
to production. Packaged together in three different versions, >Street
Dub< stylishly treads the borders between classic dub techno and modern
club weaponry. With just a handful of perfectly balanced elements, perching
atop a weighty kick and rolling sub bass, both >Street Dub< and
>Street Dub Version< are sure to satisfy purist techno fans and
newcomers to the genre alike. As a bonus, an >Ambience< mix is
included, stripping away all the percussion and letting the beautiful
subtleties of Fakis production bubble to the surface |

introduce a new artist to the roster, with a brand new talent known only as
Post Scriptum. 'Post Scriptum 01' is the debut full length album from the
anonymous producer. Post Scriptum stands for rich, highly detailed modern
Techno Electronics. References to Mills-School bleep and unearthly, sci-fi
tones are clear to hear. The album features original photographs by Swiss
mixed-media artist Julian Charrière, taken on site at a former Soviet nuclear
testing ground. The negatives were first exposed through the camera, and then
laid on the radioactive earth where interference occurred, resulting in the
highly textured end images. Quickly
following the first ever Post Scriptum track to be released, 'Human
Timescales' featured on 'Berghain 07 - Part I' (Ostgut Ton 86), this stunning
full length thoroughly outlines the sonic intentions of the project over 11
other-worldy tracks. Infrastructure
founder Function has mixed 'Berghain 07', the latest in the series of DJ
mixes by the Berlin club's residents, due for release May 18th |

Belgian
electronic duo Mumbai Science explores the final frontier with their newest
single Black Hole. The release includes the first Floorplan (aka Robert Hood)
remix to date. A year after the release of their widely acclaimed debut album
Déjà Vu, Mumbai Science is gearing up to present new music to the world. The
single EP, called Black Hole, allows us another sneak peak into the wayward
universe of Mumbai Science. A universe where the misfits find solace and love
is still free. With grubby basslines, sleazy vocal hooks and playful
arpeggios, Black Hole showcases everything that is core to the sound and
style of Mumbai Science. "I had this dream where I was on a guided bus
trip to outer space with all my buds...", explains Jonas when asked where
they got their inspiration. "...we were singing songs when I noticed my
mom forgot to pack my lunch". Black Hole comes with a mesmerising
Floorplan (aka Robert Hood) remix. Robert Hood needs little introduction,
being a founding member of arguably the most important techno act in the
world, Underground Resistance and M-Plant label boss |

Robert
Hood's Minimal Nation is justly revered as one of the most important and
defining techno records ever made. His iconic 1994 masterpiece stripped dance
music back to the barest of elements yet retained a loose and dirty funk that
many so called 'minimal' records lack today. Having inspired 1000's of
producers and DJs across the globe and starting a genre a decade before it
was popularly recognized nothing before or since has sounded like it. We now
welcome a re-mastered Special Edition of this classic release 15 years after
it changed the face of techno.
Featuring the unreleased 'SH-101' (made during the same sessions) and the
very rare 'Self-Powered' (which only appeared on the Axis test press), Robert
Hood's Minimal Nation gets its first full CD and digital release. When first released as a vinyl double-pack
'Minimal Nation' not only sounded unlike any other record but also looked
like no other, with each track finishing in a locked groove that forced the
listener to flick the needle to the next track. Each groove was built from
harsh angular elements that when combined created an alien funk not bereft of
warmth or soul |

It's a rare moment in the life of Robert
Hood's M-Plant label when he hands over to another producer, but no surprise
that he should pick Mark Broom for the next release, seeing as he's
previously been entrusted to provide edits of Hood's tracks for the label's
20th Anniversary celebrations (MPM19) and is currently tearing up dancefloors
with his unreleased dubplate mix of Floorplan's 'Never Grow Old'. The original version of 'Stunned' was
released on Mark Broom & Dave Hill's renowned Pure Plastic label back in
1997. The "97 Mix" featured here started as a live mix of the
track, which Mark has now tweaked for maximum dancefloor devastation. It's accompanied on the flip side by a
brand new composition of equally outstanding quality. Broom is in fine form
on 'Decay' with his tight production skills delivering the kind of tough, raw
Techno that sits perfectly on M-Plant |

We
are very glad to welcome Mr. Lewis Fautzi to our team of producers. After
having been part of our booking roster for a year, now it's time for this
promising Portuguese producer to get physical on vinyl. Blood EP comprises
two original tracks plus remixes by our very own duo Exium and our man
Kwartz. Four slices of futuristic, spacey, hypnotic techno, starting with
'Blood'. All the elements of this track are present from the beginning:
synthetic bleeps, profound sub bass frequencies and percussive elements that
come in and out of the arrangement subtly. Less than five minutes of mental
therapy, and also a fabulous mixing tool.
Exium reinforces 'Blood', darkening the bleeps and modifying them,
adding a fatter kick and a more dynamic arrangement. On the B side, 'Skin'
keeps the continuous sequences and a strong kick drum as a starting point,
slowly adding hats and subtle drones that grow until taking more and more
sonic frequencies. Hard and mental at the same time, it will explore the
hidden territories of your mind, if played on the proper sound system |

Stroboscopic
Artefacts’ first vinyl release is an incendiary two track EP. Label founder
Lucy gives us a visionary blueprint for the future Stroboscopic Artefacts
releases, etching out the soundtrack for an apocalyptic club scenario. Out of
the A-side’s dark, pulsing beats and itchy baselines, a granular voice rises
up. Krishnamurti’s rasping vocal cuts through, creating a colossal techno
track. Amid resonant piano samples and utopian 60s strings, a crystalline
question emerges: “Why Don’t You Change”? In the middle of a hazy,
overcrowded dance floor this peak-time guerrilla track hints at a moment of
epiphany. On the B-side “Dub Man Walking”, Lucy’s dub-roots background
collides with his techno identity. The heavy drum machine structure is
injected with obsessive dubby baselines and intersected by high frequency
distortion. The track floats, the elements never fully solidify, instead they
surge forward becoming ever more urgent.Districts', comes the announcement of

Tattoo and street artist by day,

heavy, deep and diligent techno. With the, Golden Age EP', the Berlin-based
producer showcases a diverse collection of moody cuts, from the futuristic
longings of the rhythmically challenging 'Telepathic Future' to the deep
cavernous percussion workout of 'The Awakening'. Drawn out aerial melodies
are both supported and shattered by Andreas' penchant for heavy primal drum
programming, serving as a reminder of his formative years spent drumming for
punk and hardcore bands in Sweden. Spanning the depth and breadth of the
techno scale, 'Golden Age' commands attention and adds to his consistently
qualitative output on Sonic Groove |

This is the final release on the 6-volume
Surgeon reissues label SRX, displaying the wide range of mood, pace and
production style that Surgeon was experimenting with in 1995-96. As always,
the quality is high and the impact is deadly. A few words from Surgeon about
the SRX series: While searching through old DAT tapes I was shocked to find
how clear and dynamic many of my early tracks sounded, not the way I
remembered them from the vinyl releases. Those early tracks, recorded 20
years ago, were mastered and cut by people who had no understanding of
electronic music. I actually remember cutting a dubplate back then and being
asked if my track was "supposed to sound like that" The engineer
was so disgusted at my music that once the cut started he left the room until
it was finished. Although some of these releases have been repressed many
times over the years, they have always been from the original plates from
those early cuts; none have ever been re-mastered and recut in their original

Token certainly have their staples - Ctrls,
Ø [Phase] or Inigo Kennedy making regular appearances. The last release on
Token for example, Ø [Phase]'s 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12"
showed the producer enjoys a level of familiarity with the label, allowing
him to indulge his more leftfield tendencies, resulting in some truly
captivating dancefloor moments. Just
as often Token will ingratiate new talent to the roster however, continuously
reshaping their boundaries. The most recent record comes from one such new
addition. In the wider sense though, it'd hardly be fair to call Parisian
producer Antonin Jeanson aka Antigone fresh-faced. Since debuting in 2011 on
Zadig's then relatively new Construct Re-Form label, Jeanson has enjoyed an
impressively consistent run of releases, despite his penchant for sounds
which are a little out of the ordinary.
His inaugural release with Kr!z's Token Records, the 'Cantor Dust' EP,
is similarly reflective of his inclination to mix the abstract with the
functional. Jeanson's movements across the release are difficult to second
guess – 'Anna Livia' opens with Klaus Schulze reminiscent, spacial electronica,
yet the serenity doesn't last for long |

Early
support from Surgeon & Rodhad. 'Two Worlds' feels like something of a
voyage sonically to say the least. Elysian synth-soundscapes &
glitched-up drum loops combined. Ctrls is an artist somewhat indivisible from
Token. All six of his EPs have come out via the label, melding turbo-charged
rhythms with gritten, celestial synth-work. Following Ø [Phase]'s sweltering
'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12" and an all-start remix EP of Inigo
Kennedy's 'Requiem', Ctrls' latest release comes in the form of an ethereal
two-tracker - 'Two Worlds' and 'Onto Them'.
'Two Worlds' feels like something of a voyage sonically to say the
least. Elysian synth-soundscapes build gracefully across the tracks opening
minutes, a beautiful reminder of Ctrls' ability to craft music outside the
boundaries of the dancefloor. Glitched-up drum loops are introduced at the
opportune moment, stumbling alongside a simmering reduction of the opening
section. As the track progresses the two sections build together in perfect
harmony, transitioning fluidly between Ctrls' contrasting elements. The flip-side ventures into harder
territories, thumping low-end and biting melodies showing a similar mix of

Since the turn of the decade
Token has by and large been an exclusive platform for the music of Inigo
Kennedy, ¥ [Phase] and Ctrls. The Belgian label has, however, remained on
point by putting out formidable productions by Rich Oddie & Ancient
Methods' Eschaton project, German powerhouse R¢dhåd and Spanish heavy weights
Oscar Mulero and Christian Wünsch as Spherical Coordinates, to some
intercontinental fare by Xhin and Go Hiyama. Token, an iron clad operation
continuously manufacturing unyielding techno, has always, deep within its
impenetrable shell, had a soft spot for British techno. And following a
reissue of Mark Broom's "Two", maintaining the glacial release rate
of Rodz-Konez legend Makaton, and welcoming Surgeon to its fold with the
thunderous Fixed Action Pattern 12", the Belgian label seeks out some
fresh UK blood by inviting James Shaw, aka Sigha, to debut on the label with
a stylistically sleek and suitably booming 12", Our Father / A Better

Take
a look over Ashley Burchett's back catalogue and you'll find the Greater
London resident has played an understated yet influential role in purporting
British techno. Fifteen years ago Burchett's prevailing ¥ [Phase] project
debuted on Sheree Rashit and Steve Bicknell's Cosmic Recordings before
providing Cosmic ID with its final record in 2002, and since 2007 Burchett's
helped mould and define the sound of Token by becoming the label's marquee
artist. In 2013 the Belgian imprint finally coaxed the debut album from ¥
[Phase], Frames Of Reference, described in Tony Naylor's 4/5 review for
Resident Advisor as, "a techno album of real imagination and depth that,
when it needs to be, is brutally functional." Almost two years since its
release ¥ [Phase] is back with Alone In Time?, his second studio album which
adds to the continuous slew of unrivalled long players Token has put out of
late. Token spreads the 11-tracks on Alone In Time? across three heavy weight
discs, and the music further demonstrates Burchett's deft skill in linear
arrangements shaped to fit the warehouse frame, while painting a colourful,
Detroit influenced side to his productions yet to really be heard to this
extent before |

Tresor Records is fortunate
enough to be sitting on a catalogue of past releases that no other label in
electronic music would turn down. Three of the finest in this collection were
albums contributed by Surgeon; Basictonalvocabulary, Balance and Force + Form
all originally came out on the Berlin institution between 1997 and 1999 |

Surgeons inimitable combination
of Detroit techno and post-industrial sounds emanating from his British
homeland found its fullest expression in these masterful trio of releases on
Tresor. Tresor Records have decided
that its high time to give these seminal albums another airing, and will
present each in a staggered series of 2LP represses throughout the year
before releasing a special 3CD box in the summer |

Takaaki has probably never been
in better shape than now. His last DJ gigs and releases (1962) prove it all.
It's time for new Wols release (#6), 2 new originals + remixes by Oscar
Mulero and Mike Parker. Have a listen. An epic EP, as always |
