Out of the south american
continent Colombian producer duo Uron appears for the first time on Black
Brook Limited. Two tracks of the original and three remix versions completes
the EP. The tack titles Hiperion and Leda are multiple terms. One of Saturn's
moons is called Hyperion and one of Jupiter is called Leda. We don't know for
sure if there is an intended meaning to their sound involved. What we
listened to is what you get now. Pure energetic techno, signal sounds, heavy
drums. The upcoming EP contains more than 30 minutes quality music.
Responsible for the two remixes is Greek producer Endlec. Hyperion and Leda
are also two terms leading into the world of greek myths. Is it the bridge to

Carl Finlow aka Silicon Scally,
aka Random Factor amongst other aliases, released his first record on Warp in
1993. A prolific producer since then, he's delivered more than 100 releases
including 11 albums on labels such as SCSI-AV, Soma and 2020 Vision. Now
based in Toulouse, Finlow has showcased his extensive electro and house music
performances in Japan, USA, Russia and Europe, including a stint at Sonar in
Barcelona in 2000. Finlow delivers a wide range of styles on this E.P. yet
all can be neatly filed under what is arguably his strongest genre: electro.
Projections and Thermal Image are laid back affairs reminiscent of LTJ
Bukem's flavour of D&B, albeit played at 33rpm, then over to the tougher
Miami-bass with Rift and Override. All executed with the precision, melody

carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious
collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now

Inigo
Kennedy has released upwards of 100 records since he started in 1996,
cementing his esteemed aesthetic and revealing his digital mastery further
with each release. This immense discography embraces both the traditional and
the ambitious; prevalent fundamentals and established concepts meet discord,
clashes in texture and supreme use of space. Kennedy's 2007 record Identify
Yourself was Token's first release. Although Kennedy was well-established by
this point, that inaugural step taken together, with Token as a newcomer,
began the much-needed growth of the label in a period of time when techno
music yearned painfully for a refresh. This was the beginning of a close
relationship between artist and label that has remained fruitful through the
11 years of Token's existence. Kennedy is now long-recognised as an integral
contributor to Token's output; the label is the indisputable natural home for
his sixth album, and in turn he continues to play his part in advancing
Token's evolving sound with this release. Strata expands conceptually on the
idea of planetary layers alluded to in Magma/Mantle, released in February
2018 |

Oscar
Mulero?s contribution to the Token catalogue goes all the way back to 2008.
The ferocious Take Seven EP was the start of a longstanding partnership
between the label and artist. Between this first release and the more recent
Suborbital Trajectories EP, Mulero also provided Token with 2 releases as
Spherical Coordinates, producing sophisticated big room and bleep tracks.
Through his lengthy and prolific career, Mulero has not contented himself
with producing dancefloor tools alone. The full-length Perfect Peace,
released in March this year on Semantica, demonstrates this well, with
Autechre and Aphex-flecked IDM and electronica sounds dominating the work.
The new Electric Shades EP also has elements of this extra depth. The record
opens and closes with sci-fi theatrics: Electric Shades throbs and pulses
under eerie space atmospherics, while Dying Asteroid sonically details the
demise of a small celestial body in clinical detail. But this record also
operates with the solid functionality of Mulero?s earlier work. The Voyage is
agitated and bleepy, while heavy roller Signal Trace plays deeper with
similar themes |

Scalameriya returns to Perc Trax
after the success of 2016's 'Kepslok'. Since then he has continued to break
new ground both as a solo artist and via his ongoing collaboration with
Italian producer VSK, playing across Europe and releasing on a number of key
labels whilst growing his own Genesa imprint. Now for his first release of
2018 he takes a giant leap forward both musically and technically with the
three track statement of
intent that is his 'Hellzone Megapunk EP'. Each track demonstrates new
techniques and approaches not heard in his music before, from the 4/4 versus
broken beat cage fight of the title track to Crucible's rolling polyrhythms
and the otherworldly processed vocals of the closing track. As the first Perc
Trax release of the year this EP sets out everything the label seeks to
achieve, a combination of sonic innovation that manages to keep attention
fully focussed on the dance floor at all times |
