trip through future-facing electro, hardcore and ambient influences on this
7th release of Akoya Circles. Parco Palaz returning to the label with a
driving EP that blends influences from across the dancefloor continuum.
Beginning with the physical and urgent 'Sword', a cerebral dose of body music
that unravels layers and layers of cybernetic detail, Palaz immediately takes
the EP in myriad uncompromising and unexpected directions. 'Nomadology' slaps
with a raging, bass heavy energy inspired by the cross- cultural, halcyon
days of UK rave culture, hitting harder with each breakdown and mutating
around a cosmic MC sample. 'Burning Heart' is deeper but no less infectious,
a sly blend of liquid funk and futuri! electro, buoyant with optimi!ic energy
and skittish rhythms. Shorter and crunchier, the Drexciya homage 'Sierra
Nevada' sees Palaz turn his analogue gear inwards in order to create a
ruthlessly calculated rave weapon that wears its influence proudly. The
record only grows denser amid the high-tempo of 'Equations', a frenetic drum
pattern giving way to the record's underlying texture of melancholy and even
contemplative nature, as heard on the wi!ful frequencies of EP closer,

It's been a little while since
I've put an EP out on Holding Hands. It's been super fun working with On
Loop, Touch From A Distance and Futureboogie but it definitely feels great to
be back at home on my own label. For my first release of the new decade I
have whipped up four club focused bangers with a nice bit of variety. A
smattering of electro, breaks, 2-step and dark UK funky. They are all
relatively fast paced but you should hopefully be able to find at least one
track for a set at any time, early, middle or late. OK enough of my blather.
Go and listen to the damn things yourself and decide if you like them, rather
than trying to work it out from reading a bloody press release you weirdos.
All four tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. They want big sound

Recordings introduces a new vinyl signed by its owner Kike Pravda, and a
remix of a very special artist, Svreca. Four solid, wraparound cuts. The
record begins with Ground, a high voltage electrified loop. Dirty hi hats,
distorted, hypnotic and energetic sequences that gain intensity until the end
of the track. Velocity is the second weapon in this release, a continuous
pattern of warm and aggressive synth, filling the modulated space by sine
waves that invites a stellar journey. With Depth on the B side we find thick,
constantly changing analog frequencies creating a deep and dynamic groove
accompanied by futuristic bleeps. Svreca, owner of Semantica label, finalizes
this work with his own vision of Velocity, a raw and more hypnotic version,
perfect for this record. Written produced and mixed by Kike Pravda. Remix by

This is the second installment of
the Warm Up Bandcamp Vinyl series and comes again signed by label boss Oscar
Mulero. Limited edition vinyl EP with three cuts of merciless techno designed
to shake minds and feet. "Gradual Blending" starts with the core
elements up, distorted kicks, shuffled hats, resonant percussive components,
super reverberated claps, density and obscurity aligned in an hypnotic
structure. "Evolutionary Decay" is elastic and physical, a solid
subbass / kick / hat groove, phased synthetic layers, atmospheres and
liquidness: Intelligent tool. "Natural Resources" relies again on
distorted drums, asymmetrical sinoidal sequences and Fm synths all designed
in a wise arrangement. Timeless, hard and mental for the real players out
there |
