"1959" is a concept
album dedicated to my father. The main theme is based on my particular
perception of travel and movement, which are both narrated with similar
electronic sounds and different at the same time. The double vinyl edition is
divided in 4 sides entitled "Moon", "Flight",
"Space" and "Land". The vocals of some tracks, such as
"The Aircraft", were made with fragments of vocal announcements
recorded in the airports during my tour. The plane, already featured in the
cover of the single extract "Lux", is interpreted as a mysterious
vehicle that travels in space-time. The album cover instead portrays my
father's motorcycle, as if it were suspended in the sky during the transition
from night to day, which in this case symbolizes the transition from the
noise of earthly life to the stillness of eternity. In this new work of mine
I found my Synth-pop, Electro and Ambient influences, combined with rhythms
that lend themselves well both to listening and to the dance floor. Enjoy it! |

In 1983, Aviador Dro, the
legendary Spanish synth/pop band, are living their best moment: their own
record label (DRO) is working full time< they share management with famous
Spanish new wave bands like Alaska & Los Pegamoides, Los Nikis, Gabinete
Caligari etc. Their songs are played frequently on the radio and they play
numerous gigs all across Spain. That's when the band decides to create their
most ambitious project to date: a deluxe boxset titled 'Sintesis: La
Producción Al Poder', which will include two LPs, a 7" and a booklet.
It's there where 'Tesis', their second album, originally appears, along with
another album called 'Antítesis', which shows the more experimental side of
the band. A few months later, 'Tesis' is released separately with a slight
change on the tracklist |

peñas y a la afición del Athletic Club en todo el mundo. El 17 de enero,
cerca de la medianoche, se consumó el triunfo del Athletic sobre el Barça en
la Final de la Supercopa. Fueron dos partidos vibrantes en tierras andaluzas,
contra nuestros dos rivales históricos, en los que vimos a nuestro equipo
competir de nuevo al máximo nivel, como hacía tiempo que no recordábamos. La
euforia se desató entre todos los athleticzales y como resultado de la
borrachera de emociones que se sucedió tras la finalización del encuentro,
Bigas, el cerebro de la descerebrada y aberrante banda punk de Ponferrada
Gibones (acérrimo y sufridor seguidor del Athletic en la distancia) me
comentó que tenía un tema dedicado al Athletic y que si Family Spree estaría
dispuesto a publicarlo. La respuesta no pudo ser otra que un órdago: ¿y por
qué no hacerlo con otros 3 temas de otras tantas bandas fieles a la fe
rojiblanca para completar un EP como mandan los cánones de la industria? |

and we are keeping it tight and sharp. Oscar Mulero is the mind behind this
creature, offering three cuts of merciless techno exercises both physically
and digitally. Opening track is "Tormenta", Storm in spanish, a
fast paced groove with almost all elements up from the very beginning. Wisely
distorted drums, continuous filtered sequences, a sharp elastic line running
and mutating across the structure. Direct and mental at the time.
"Espectro Rojo", Red spectrum translated begins with obsessive
distorted evolving lines, shuffled hi hats and precise kicks. The stereo
field is constantly worked out augmenting the experience exponentially.
"Gradiente de Voltaje" closes the EP, the overall feel is less
distorted and more opaque and lo-fi. The liquid filtered bassline is soon
joined by distorted hats, alternating patterns and twisting the sounds
wisely. No sudden interruptions, no abrupt changes, just the right dose of
hypnosis to use as a powerful tool |

Computer' is the newest set of future-gazing grooves from Periodica Records
and label partner Raffaele "Whodamanny" Arcella rescuing and
restoring forgotten tape compositions from a legendary Italian pop producer
using the pseudonym Nico Mecca. Produced during the years 1979-1985 using
cutting edge home recording techniques and the latest synthesizer. The
productions across the works are incredibly forward-thinking for that time
with inspirations and track titles refering to hypermodern tech and a
proto-cyberpunk soundworld and progressive rock and experimental electronic
music that features novel combinations of mediterranean boogie, robotic funk,
sci-fi balearic, hypnagogic pop and astrotribal jazz. The discovery of the
'Floppy Computer' project is dictated by destiny and a strong cosmic
interference as not only were these tracks produced by Mecca during his 30s,
they were discovered 30 years later by Raffaele Whodamanny, who is also in
his 30s-- facts that give the project a mystical and numerological
significance, since this number and age represent a divine midpoint between
youthful enthusiasm and the wisdom of experience. Amazing record with both

Rhythm
Converted is a new label from Belgian techno guru, Tom Hades. Having created
(with Marco Bailey) the Rhythm Convert label in 2004, Rhythm Converted
represents a new chapter in the history of the innovative and
forward-thinking approach the label has always pushed. Having burst on to the
techno scene via his I Love Techno collaboration with Marco Bailey, Tom Hades
has been at the centre of the techno scene since 2001. Working as a solo
artist and with Marco Bailey, Tom has created an impressive catalogue of
tracks on labels such as Drumcode, MB Elektronics, 8 Sided Dice, Naked Lunch
and Hell Yeah. Come On Boy is a fizzing combination of tough beats and
tension building atmospherics. Arranged over three sections with a
progression all of its own; the vibe moves from brooding melody to throbbing
energy. Austrian talent Virgil Enzinger steps up with the rework of Come On
Boy. Stripping back the groove to a pulsing heartbeat Enzinger retains the

England's industrial northeast, the Toy Dolls infused their take on punk with
ample doses of working/class humour, the three-chord format a launching pad
for witty originals and clever cover tunes. 1983 debut Dig That Groove Baby
captures the group at their finest, their twisted rendition of kiddies tune
"Nellie The Elephant" topping the indie charts< the title track
is an infectious singalong, while "Spiders In The Dressing Room"
and "Glenda And The Test Tube Baby" are more irreverent tongue in
cheek, all delivered in the peculiar androgynous accent of frontman Michael

By the time Toy Doys issued Bare
Faced Cheek as the inaugural LP of their own Nit Records label, bassist Flip
had been replaced by Dean Robson and drummer Happy Bob by Martin Yule, with
Olga still the vocal focal point. "Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead" is
the best of the bunch, "Neville Is A Nerd" and "Quick To Quit
The Quentin" are typical Toy Dolls punk piss-takes, and there are digs
at a hotel and a local launderette too. Everything is delivered in
lightning-fast bursts of energy, poking fun at all and sundry, the Toy Dolls

To celebrate their first decade
of existence, Sunderland's ironic punk trio, Toy Dolls, issued retrospective
Ten Years Of Toys, but rather than using the standard-issue "Greatest
Hits" formula, the group chose to re-cut nuggets from their career so
far, using the then-current line-up of frontman Olga, bassist Dean Robson and
drummer Martin Yule. Thus, tracks like "Dougy Giro," "Fiery
Jack" and "Glenda And The Test Tube Baby" are given new leases
of life with a brighter, fuller sound and the inclusion of hard-to-find
tracks such as "I've Got Asthma" and "Tommy Kowey's Car"

Old,
but still functioning computers are simply scrapped, made redundant and
without remorse left to corrosion and an existence without a task and no
perspective. That this doesn’t need to be so, and that even computers with
limited storage capacity can still take on a function in society, is
illustrated by Alexei Shulgin’s outdated 386, now serving as a musician.
Performing Classic Rock's Biggest Smash Hits! The Clash! The Doors! The Sex
Pistols! Hendrix! and more... gone digital, gone to 8-bit computerized
chip-music with a singing computer, with all the charme available to a
text-to- speech- programm. Created by Russian artist Alexei Shulgin, 386 DX
was “the world’s first cyberpunk band.” Known for its live performances on
city streets and in nightclubs, the performer is a dingy, singing PC that
runs Windows 3.1, equipped with a vintage sound card and loaded with MIDI
files of drums, guitar, and synth and accompanying lyrics. The ironic comment
delivered by Shulgin and his singing computer is well within the context of
the performances by the 386 DX rockband, with which he “toured” Europe in
1998 and performed on nearly 60 occasions. This one- man-one-computer-show
was based on a similar idea as his current installation: Shulgin presented
himself as a performer carrying a keyboard, and by simply hitting a key
elicited the text-to-speech singing, accompanied by very simple music and a

The title track "Ghost In
The Shell" has a light and a dark side that fight with each other
somewhere in 2077, and it's up to you to decide which one wins. “Ramayana” is
an interpretation of the ancient Indian epic in the form of a meditative dub-techno-trance.
"Wow!" dedication that occurred on August 15, 1977. A strong
narrowband radio signal was detected by Dr. Jerry Eiman while working on the
Big Ear radio telescope at Ohio State University. "Wow!" was the
only signal in the history of mankind intercepted from the depths of space,
which could not be deciphered, but the musicians tried. The EP closes with a
slow track with an unearthly atmosphere, shimmering with contrasting
electronic sound. "After Glow" - a neutrino of a thermonuclear sun,
making its way through thunderclouds and bringing hope to the bright future
of the present time. So Komponente & Kurilo made mystical EP with an
unpredictable plot, which is a symbiosis of dub-techno and trance melodies |

Casting
its net far and wide, from Australia to Finland, via the UK and Tunisia, One
Eye Witness’ maiden VA drop gathers a quartet of the international producers
who’ve come to pique our interest in recent months. Starting with Tunis-based
up-and-comer HearThug, who steps up with “Alien All Too Alien” - a steadily
pulsatory, 303-marinated dasher interlarded with flocks of pugnacious talk
box stabs and rattling drums, making it a proper DJ-friendly weapon for any
hour of the day. Helsinki’s Jeku follows up with the tribal acid churner
‘Aftermath’, laying down a sleek, sub-heavy earworm prepped on submerging
systems from under the deepest layers of the spectrum with its fluttering
melody, sturdy basswork and FX-laden synthesis. Flip the coin over and here
goes London-based groove manipulator Sohrab, entering the melee with
‘Ataraxia’ - a hypnotic slice of stealth mode, Gaussian-blurred dub techno
that does exactly what’s written on the tin. The final number ’Surrender’
comes courtesy of rising Sydney-based producer Cousin, who treats us to a
tripped-out ethereal riddim making the rounds betwixt the vaporous serenity
of ambient and deep dub vibrations |

Anonymous producer Alphonse
returns to Klasse Wrecks for his third release on the label and brings with
him a concoction of familiar sounds and flavours. If anything is certain
about Alphonse by now it is that nothing is certain and everything is to be expected.
The 'Beechwood DNA' EP sounds like a grip of the producer's influences and
inspirations funneled through his sample heavy approach to production, taking
wild turns unannounced. Acid licks and unruly breakbeats are definitely
nothing new but the producers considered summation of each track is truly
original and surprising. The EP rounds off with the title track 'Beechwood',
a painfully beautiful ode that captures a nostalgic mood and shows off the
producers well-informed ear for a catchy sample |

Ludwig
A.F. returns to his own Exo Recordings International this spring with a fresh
four-track EP in the shape of 'Blissful Lie'. The fourth instalment on the
imprint sees the artist introduce his name change, shortening it to simply
Ludwig A.F. The whole release, but particularly the A1 ,,Blissful Lie"
is very inspired by classical music. It further explores the trademark
feeling of Ludwig's sound: celebratory and happy but melancholic and
introverted at the same time. It works with contradictions, hand crafted
sound design elements intertwined with bombastic emotional atmospheres.
Title-cut 'Blissful Lie' leads on the package, fusing ethereal pad textures
and bumpy breaks with choppy bass plucks and cinematic arpeggios and strings
to create a contemporary spin on classic IDM tropes. 'Weightless' follows
next - a tripped out, high octane electronica workout employing elongated
bass drones, syncopated rhythms and dynamically evolving acid-tinged synth
licks. 'Psychiflux' opens the flip side, laying focus on glitched out
percussion, vocal stutters, eerie atmospherics and weighty low-end hits
before 'Cloud Walker' rounds out the release on a deeper tip, dropping the
tempo and fusing soft pad swells and resonant tones with metallic synth
chimes and stripped-back drums |
