Folding
the ambient techno tradition into neatly arranged packets of rhythm and
space, Delsin proudly presents a striking new collaboration from Tobias. and
Doltz. A project developed from a chance encounter, Versus combines classic
synth and drum machine configurations with needlepoint sound design to create
a quintessential electronica listening experience. Tobias. is the lead alias
from Tobias Freund, the celebrated German techno pioneer who has been
actively exploring new territories in electronic music production since the
early 1980s. As Doltz, Shun Watanabe has quickly developed his own impressive
artistic stamp in the field of leftfield techno and ambient since debuting in
2020. After seeing Doltz perform a live set at Eden Festival 2024 in Japan,
Freund instantly invited him to collaborate. After the success of the first
collaboration, they went on to develop five of the tracks on Versus together,
while Jiawen Wang performed additional vocals on 'We Are Not Alone'. Versus
is an album that balances variety and consistency across its finely sequenced
run time, maintaining a focus on pointillist, exploratory rhythm from crisp
drum machines and twitchy digitalia alike, all backed up by richly rendered
atmospherics from gaseous pads to icy drones. It's a warm and inviting sound
world, but also fearlessly futuristic, speaking to both Freund's decades of
refinement and the startling clarity of Doltz's vision |

Dutch maestro Kettel (Reimer
Eising) is back on Madrid's Analogical Force with Inmate Shuffle, his first
full EP for the label since 2017's Alacasa (AF008). This release features
five tracks straight from the heart of Reimer's universe, serving as a heartfelt
reaffirmation of his unique identity. Kettel's artistry is a testament to
staying true to oneself. Artists like Reimer are not bound by fleeting trends
or rigid genres; instead, he carves his own paths, constantly reinventing his
sound with honesty and passion. This is why his material is reviewed again
and again and serves as a clear reference for many. While Dubio (2025), his
recent full-length album inspired by the soundtrack of the acclaimed puzzle
game of the same name, explored cinematic and conceptual landscapes, Inmate
Shuffle takes us back to the playful, melodic, and rhythmically rich
territory that first captivated his devoted audience. Five tracks, five
parties. Inmate Shuffle will resonate in your head for a long time. MUST |

Samuel van Dijk steps forward as
Multicast Dynamics to present his next full length of mesmerizing deepness on
A Walking Contradiction. As ever, when van Dijk puts on his Multicast
Dynamics disguise, he abducts his listeners to places where breathtaking soundscapes
and pitch black ambience take over. When you are in these imaginary places he
creates a compelling story that is both exhilarating and soothing at the same
time. Soundtrack for Something That Does Not Exist is nothing less. It's a
journey across dark scapes and icy glitches, richly detailed with topnotch
sound design that creates a spacious flow throughout. The subtle rhythms that
appear once in a while show some overlap with recent VC-118A productions,
which makes this a very complete piece of work that shows the excellence of a
producer that never stops improving himself |

The
next chapter in Axis Expressionist Series, A collection of vinyl and limited
digital releases, curated by Millsart, an alias of Jeff Mills, of his most
eclectic and transcendent compositions that derive from his Every Dog Has Its
Day project aswell as new unreleased works. "The meaning of this concept
(Space Outside :Space) lies within your answers to these questions. Providing
the questions are considered with honesty, the true meaning of what
"Space" refers to becomes revealed. There are no right or wrong
answers, just reactions based on your view and angles on the mechanisms of
life." - Millsart aka Jeff Mills. What becomes a person that doesn't
dream? What happens when we get all that we ever wanted? Do we know too much?
Can we truly justify pessimism? What are you planning on leaving behind? If
given more life, stay the same or change? Life is more about giving or
taking? Good fortune is based on what? What's more effective, love or hate?
Do we care enough? Are we OK? Life is mostly about ? Is there a end to this?
Knowing that it propels, are we capable of critical thinking? Who is more
important then yourself? What is worth dying for? |

Two more benders for your record
bag. U-BEND return with the fifth outing on their esteemed benders imprint.
Wu Han Clang is a pioneering piece of east acid fusion. This high energy
chugger has been sought after by fellow benders since its first airing back
in March. Get it while it’s lukewarm. Things get murkier with Grandma. The
pair take a swampy detour into a dark percussive workout designed to
resuscitate a sleepy dancefloor into a 3am emergency. U-BEND’s tireless
commitment to bad decisions lives on — once again, these tracks have been
rigorously tested and approved by both the kitchen and living room committees
for late-night emotional damage and early-morning regret |

Backspin's
new release comes from Obscure Shape, delivering a deep and versatile techno
EP that lives up to its title: 'Zwei Gesichter' (German for 'Two Faces').
Across five tracks, the EP explores the tension between raw force and
emotional depth, marrying the label's Hardgroove roots with a more
introspective edge. The A-side presents Obscure Shape's first face: It opens
with 'Zwei Seiten', a no-frills banger that hits with immediacy and drive.
'Im Angesicht Der Zeit', the single, leans into groove and movement, offering
a more fluid, time-aware flow. 'Die Haut In Der Ich Wohne' pares things back
into a minimalistic, loopinghypnosis, evoking the idea of inhabiting one's
own skin. On the B-side, presenting the producer's second face, 'Spuren Des
Werdens' features producer AMIYE and introduces more melody and saw synths, a
reflection on growth and transformation. The closer, 'Von Hoffnung Getragen'
- also a collaboration with AMIYE - lifts off with ethereal vocals and a
bouncing rhythm, embodying the hope that carries us forward. With the 'Zwei
Gesichter' EP, Obscure Shape crafts a powerful narrative through groove, form
and feeling, perfectly aligned with Backspin's evolving reinterpretation of
early 2000s techno |

influences and contaminations that the White Island -- the capital of
electronic music -- has deeply etched into his musical identity. A blend of
styles and cultures that could be defined as afro balearic. Vocals on Marley
Eh by Rae, vocals on Manda Toto by Sofiya Nzau, and Weya by Jelani.

Delsin invites you to submerge
into the prismatic electronica of Xenia Reaper. Across nine tracks of
exquisitely rendered sonics, the shadowy producer engages in the
time-honoured craft of introspective sound manipulation, folding gaseous pads
into dissected breaks and running heavyweight machine pulses through achingly
beautiful synthesis. The sound is sharply realised, modernist music that
revels in the finegrain detail afforded by technology, but never at the
expense of warmth and charm. It's nuanced electronica for deep listening, but
it also hits on an instinctive, physical level |

London-based
DJ and producer Theo Kottis steps into a defining new chapter with his debut
EP on fabric Originals. A respected figure on the European scene, Theo has
spent the last decade refining his craft, delivering euphoric, high-energy
productions and magnetic performances that have earned him a dedicated
following across the clubbing & festival circuits. Following standout
releases on tastemaker labels including Dekmantel - where his track
Lighthouse was dubbed "song of the summer" by Resident Advisor -
and Fuse London, Theo’s sound has become synonymous with nostalgia-soaked
dancefloor moments, seamlessly fusing rave, garage & bassline textures.
His tracks have seen support from top-tier selectors like Ben UFO, Francesco
Del Garda & Eris Drew - & his sets at Panorama Bar, Lux Fragil, and
Robert Johnson further cement his reputation as a selector with deep musical
intuition. Now releasing on Fabric Originals, Theo is on his best form -
following a run of acclaimed EPs on Dekmantel and FUSE London, affirming his
place as a versatile & vital force in underground music. This new EP sees
him channel his signature sound through the venue’s rich legacy &
forward-thinking ethos. The result is a bold and genre-bending body of work,
shaped by both personal reflection and creative momentum. Opening track Drone
was born out of angst - heard through the powerful synths, weighty bassline
& unrelenting energy, capturing the tension of that moment. In contrast,
Momentum introduces lush pads & evolving textures, expressing a sense of
release and optimism, a reflection of renewed focus and belief in the road
ahead. Together, the two tracks form a deeply personal narrative, blending
emotional resonance with club-ready impact. With momentum building across
2024, this release signals an exciting evolution for Theo Kottis as he
continues to shape dancefloors well into 2025 & beyond |

Berlin musician and DJ Nastia
Reigel presents her debut solo album, Identity, on Function's legendary
Infrastructure New York imprint. Following a constant output of EPs on
heavy-hitting techno labels like fabric, Rodhad's WSNWG and Token, and
playing regularly at the likes of Berghain, Reigel now returns with new music
that pushes deep into the core of her craft. She has honed and sharpened her
sound into something sleeker and more uninhibited. Identity embodies the core
of Nastia's production DNA, showcasing her as a powerful and precise
engineer. These eight new tracks, mixed by herself, all offer something
distinct and carry her unmistakable signature. Much like human identity
itself, the album explores contrasting layers of tension, groove and mood,
oscillating from hypnotic rollers to peak time intensity with ease. It is
both a personal artistic statement and a DJ-ready techno toolkit for fans of
Function and Sandwell District |

The master of the unambiguos
message is back. Reinhard Voigt's minimal techno in 2007 sounds as clear as a
mountain torrent, and as un-clickity-clackity as a diamond drill head. And
that's for the collective good. With his new 12inch ‚All in' Reinhard Voigt
audibly glances back to his early musical influences. There's a good measure
of oldschool Chicago house thump combined with the smart weirdness of Warp's
bleep techno age. Especially the flipside „Missing Billie“ insistently pushes
the low range frequencies and gently keeps the crowd going without any
razzle-dazzle, sirens or horns. This casual understatement sets him in direct
proximity to Berlin's Sascha Funke. We need to ignore that moustache
though... The extraordinarily splendid cover artwork was provided by Dennis
Busch, who in real life is running the incredible Esel imprint. We might have
said it before: We love Esel |

Here's something dark and dirty
from the depths of Russia. Dmitry Sobolev comes from out of nowhere with a
shocker to put your brain back on track. He brings back a sound that will
make the bottom of your muddy rubber boots melt. This is warehouse raging
techno - something that heralds a time we often forget. "Sticker"
brings new meaning to the term filthy-techno. That Russian dog-whistle is set
to take things fan-freaking-tastically over the edge. Speicher hits tough
with passion and power |

We
are very pleased to dedicate another full Speicher single to an exciting new
act. Don´t be scared by the first two lines. It gets much easier further
in... The Finns are unchained! Behind the wonderful project name
Motiivi:Tuntematon you will find the gentlemen (take a deep breath before you
recite this) Antti Koivisto, Timo Kaukolampi and Veikka Erkola. All of whom
are not unknown virtues in the relatively small Finnish music scene. One or
two of the mentioned was a member of the fabulous Op:l Bastards, others are
the same part of the Uusi Fantasia on the wonderful Norwegian label TELLE. So
the numerous cooperations with ANNIE do not surprise. Veikka Erkola was
responsible for the brilliant album "Anniemal" as a co-producer.
The ways in Scandinavia are short, the creative eruptions are absolutely
remarkable. The first release of Motiivi:Tuntematon was in 2003 on Andi
Baumecker´s label Freundinnen and was one of the exception hits of the
season. International tastemakers like James Holden and Rob Da Bank licensed
"1939" for their compilations. That's enough of the history lesson.
The A-side of the new Speicher "I Don´t Feel Good (When You´re Not
Around)" fits perfectly within the great mix of big-room Rockno,
Electro-Housey slam-dance qualities with a slightly melancholic undertone. A
noble matter. You don´t need to have a PHD in Philosophy to realize, that
throughout the million-odd years of human kind we misunderstood some
fundamental things. But you certainly need some gigantic balls to name the
insanity on the B-side "Mankind Failed". It´s truly the most
exaggerated music piece of all times: the apocalypse, beat after beat
lyrically narrated. Fantastic! |

The
year is 1989 and it's the peak of the Belgium New Beat craze. Not limited to
records and clubs, the New Beat lifestyle was marketed to death with all
sorts of fashion items, a plethora of accessories, and at least one erotic
movie. Fast forward a few decades. In the middle of nowhere, Switzerland,
tucked inside a long-forgotten video store that closed its doors in 1999 and
sat untouched for 20 years, we stumbled upon a strange treasure amongst tons
of VHS hidden in the adult section. A mysterious VHS labeled "Erotiques
New Beat." What we found was pure 1989 Belgian erotica-low budget,
fog-drenched, and neon-soaked. Minimalist sets. Girls in PVC. Flashing
lights. Mirrors. Fog machines. Loud colors. It was erotic, sure-but also
oddly sweet, almost innocent in its surreal, lo-fi dreaminess. And then came
the soundtrack. That's what really floored us. A collection of New Beat gems,
raw, simple, irresistible. Somehow, it captured the full spectrum of the
genre: 100-110 bpm grooves with shades of EBM, sleazy coldwave rhythms,
sensual synths, proto-Goa pulses, monk choirs, oriental melodies, and a
healthy dose of movie samples. It felt alive. Timeless. Utterly perfect. We
had to know more. We dug, tracked down the source, and in 2020, reissued the
soundtrack on vinyl. It sold out fast. Now, five years later, we thought
about pressing one final batch. A special edition on picture disc, featuring
the original smileys from the VHS |

Following Robert Hood's remixes
of his Floorplan tracks 'Never Grow Old' and 'Phobia' in May, he's back with
new edits of 'Protein Valve', originally released on M-Plant in 1994, the y
ear of the label's inception. As well as other early releases like 'I nternal
Empire', 'Music Data' and 'Moveable Parts', 'Protein Valve' helped set t he
standard for his M-Plant label becoming synonymous with a stripped down, toug
h and rhythmic raw sound that many artists still try to emulate. The original
'Protein Valve EP' is a classic in the annals of Techno, which still ge ts
played today and sounds as fresh as it did some 20 years ago. Nevertheless R
obert Hood takes an introspective look back and delivers these three
incredible new edits! Focussing on the bass elements these fresh versions
keep t he M-Plant ethos at their core with their pure efficiency and Hood's
mastery at getting right to the point of a track, with his focus always on
the groove |

"Eternal Life EP" is a
double A-side release featuring two mixes of the title track by
father-daughter duo, Floorplan alongside two new solo tracks by Robert Hood.
The glorious "Eternal Life" is an infectious track to raise the
roof as only Floorplan can, whether it's Lyric and Robert's tough House A1
version or the more stripped back Mix 2. Flipping to the AA-side Robert
delivers his signature "real" minimal Techno sound on the
shimmering "God Flow" before closing out with the darker tones of
"The Throne". It's an essential release that can take you all the
way from daytime festival fields through to late night warehouse dance floors
on one EP. Floorplan x Robert Hood "Eternal Life EP" will follow
the vinyl release of Robert Hood's "Art Project EP" which will hit
record stores from 13 June |

FIRE
UP: Fifteen successful releases later, Anetha continues to fan the flames
with MTY-FEU, an incandescent new compilation. Titled «Ils s’embrasèrent,
réduits ensemble», the release stands for fusion and oneness. Bursting from
the depths of the earth, magma is devouring: melting hot techno, deep techno,
fast techno, firestorms of trance, eruptions of hard groove, break, mental,
smoldering experimental… MTY-FEU is a lava flow of boiling, vital energy,
unstoppable and full of blistering textures. During the Nuit Blanche (A1), we
surrender. We, the offer. Our fire is combusting. Our feet, stomping.
Berserk, in a fury, there’s No End (C1) to this party. In a trance, Eternal
Echoes (E2) beguiles us all, until we become one into the Molten Core (H2) of
Inferno. Ils s’embrasèrent, réduits ensemble. The incredibly talented visual
artist FEMUR crafted the artwork by creating an AI-generated meta-crackle of
fire. Diplomatie Studio handled the design while mastering was entrusted to
Sixbitdeep, except for Anetha’s edit, where mix and mastering credits go to
Le Dom. We’ve opted for bio-vinyls for this release, knowing that one day
these records will return to ashes, only to rise again, like the phoenix |

Noise Music has put out some
wonderful dance floor techno moments over the last few years. They continue
their stride for the top now with this excellent new release from Ken Ishii
and Anderson Noise. These two producers are truly huge in their respective
countries of Japan and Brazil and this won't disappoint their fans. The A
side is so fat with its driving, funky bassline and smooth percussion before
adding vocal and melodic elements to great effect. The B side compliments the
classy A side perfectly with its harder driving stripped down bass heavy
techno groove. Great record!!! |

Once more, Japanese digital dub

unique concoction of digital dub, raw lo-fi electro and acid hall influences,
creating a deviant captivating sound. Wild untamed synths clash with raw
sloppy rhythm boxes. Seductive spring reverbs dissolve into clouds of space
echo. Heavy intense bass crumbles on decaying fuzzy tapes while Noda's
haunting melodica melodies elevate this LP to new heights! |

Fusing hypnotic rhythms with
cutting-edge sound design, the French producer carves out a space where
melancholy meets euphoria, and violence dances with beauty. This record is
not just a collection of tracks; it’s a cohesive narrative, each piece
unraveling like a thread from the same ribbon—twisting, pulling, and
ultimately tying together a story of tension and release. Known for his
ability to merge hard-hitting club energy with emotional depth, Hadone pushes
his sonic identity further than ever before. Ribbon is a testament to
Hadone’s evolution as an artist—a finely tuned balance between chaos and
control, structure and freedom. A soundtrack for the dancefloor and the
introspective mind alike |

Release number 3 on our
increasingly popular Payback label is the best yet with two tracks of funky
club techno very reminiscent of old Marco Carola material. The A side has a

of loops. This track has a slightly deeper feel with its filtered deep chords

From the dark, reverberating

reverberates with an intense energy that speaks of defiance and unity in the
face of adversity. Pad Okova is driven by a haunting chord that cuts through
the pounding beat like a sharpened blade, while Tebi, Moja Dolores brings a
haunting melancholy to the battlefield, encapsulating the unyielding spirit
of the resistance movement. Every beat in this EP is infused with the
underground force of techno, laced with the struggle for freedom, equality,

uncompromising ethos of the partisan fighters, drawing a direct line between
the sounds of today and the ideals ofthose who fought for a better tomorrow |

Aphex
Twins Xylem Tube EP arrived in the summer of 1992 on R&S Records, coming
hot off the heels of his landmark Digeridoo release, and an audacious follow
up from the then 21-year-old Richard D. James. Out of print for nearly two
decades, this long-awaited vinyl reissue restores one of the pivotal early
works in his catalogue. Where Digeridoo pushed the endurance of the rave
floor to its limits, the Xylem Tube EP stretched the Aphex Twin sound into
new dimensions with Polynomial-C becoming an enduring classic with its
spiralling arpeggios, shattering breakbeats and alien melodics. Tracks like
Phlange Phace and Tamphex (Hedphuq Mix) pushed distortion, humour and rhythm
into uncharted territory, while Dodeccaheedron acts as a bold signifier of
James radical ideas of how dance music can sound, with its ominous and
brooding synth work over a cacophony of eerie, broken beats. Three decades
later, the EP stands not only as a key chapter in the Aphex canon, but also
as a statement of intent from an artist set on reshaping electronic musics
DNA. Now faithfully reissued on vinyl for the first time since a 2006
pressing, this edition returns one of the most in-demand Aphex R&S titles
to circulation after nearly twenty years out of print |

Few
producers have had the same seismic impact on techno and rave music as Joey
Beltram. Hailing from Queens, New York, Beltram was a key architect of the
early '90s rave explosion and responsible for some of the most influential
electronic records of the era - and it was Belgium’s R&S Records that
gave many of these tracks their first home. Originally compiled and released
by R&S in 1996, Classics brings together the core of Beltram’s
groundbreaking early output - namely the Beltram Vol. 1 (1990) and Beltram
Vol. 2 (1991) EPs, alongside the legendary Second Phase productions ‘Mentasm’
and ‘Mind To Mind’ (1991), plus a selection of aliases and collaborative work
from the same period, including tracks under Mental Mayhem, Open Mind, and
Disorder. Now remastered and reissued as a 2LP set for 2025, Classics is
available on vinyl for the first time since 2006, offering a long overdue
opportunity to own these timeless cuts in their purest form. Across the 13
tracks, you'll hear the sheer force and innovation that made Beltram a
household name in underground techno. Integral to this collection are ‘Jazz
303’ and ‘Psycho Bass,’ co-produced with Norwegian techno innovator Per
Martinsen (aka The Alien), which stand out for their experimental, forward-facing
sound - highlighting a futuristic edge even within Beltram’s already
pioneering catalogue. Elsewhere, his Second Phase project with Mundo Muzique
delivers the seminal ‘Mentasm’ and ‘Mind To Mind,’ two foundational tracks
that introduced the infamous “hoover” sound to dancefloors worldwide.
Rounding out the set are deeper cuts under his aliases Mental Mayhem,
Disorder, and Open Mind, capturing the breadth of Beltram’s restless
creativity and technical command during his peak R&S years. ‘Classics’ by
Joey Beltram is available on R&S Records from 25th July 2025 |

This debut release is a
collaboration between two renowned Dutch labels, Zodiak Commune Records and
Shipwrec, both with decades of rich history. This collaboration fused
experimental electronics driven by Roland's TB 303's with IDM, electro, and
jungle influences, aiming to provide thought-provoking music for both the
dance floor and relaxed listening amid today's oversaturated dance music
scene. Enter the Ghost Ship is the work of G303, a Zodiak Commune resident
producer, stepping out of his hard acid comfort zone to explore a more
emotional, dystopian, and sophisticated sound |

Journeys
are never just about distance. They stretch time, reshape perception, and
demand transformation. With its latest vinyl split EP, Standard Deviation
presents four tracks by Nastya Vogan and Phase Fatale that serves as a vessel
for tracing displacement, memory, and the liminality of return. These
melancholic yet powerful techno cuts serve both the concrete dance floor and
moments of intimate self-reflection. Two artists--Nastya Vogan and Phase
Fatale--approach Kyiv from different trajectories, but they both keep
returning to the city. Vogan, a Ukrainian musician and resident DJ of Kyiv,
and Phase Fatale (Hayden Payne), Berlin-based producer, Berghain and Khidi
resident and founder of BITE Records, share a longstanding musical
friendship. They've played B2B sets at K41 and Vogan, appeared on BITE's
"Shedding Skin" compilation in 2023, and they share a vision for
music selection, from aesthetics to philosophy. Vogan's 'Transitioning
Territory' and 'This Is Not a Love Song' unravel the psycho-geography of
transition. The first track captures the 24-hour journey to Kyiv as a rite of
passage where 'time seems to fold; you are profoundly present yet
paradoxically far from the world you left.' In this suspended state, memories
surface and ordinary life recedes as the train's rhythm becomes its own
meditation. Her second track explores Lacanian limerence--consciously falling
for something not fully known, filling absences with personal projections as
a way to discover what lies within oneself. Phase Fatale's contributions
capture movement and distance with mechanical precision. 'Kekkai,' takes its
name from the Japanese word for boundary, echoing 'respect my borders' ethos
while reflecting on crossing into wartime Ukraine. The term also suggests a
protective force field in Buddhist thought--much like Kyiv's current aura of
resistance. 'Neosyazhna Rosa' (Unreachable Rose) honors Payne's Ukrainian
grandmother Rose, weaving family history into his present connection with
Ukraine. Both pieces balance melancholy with light, their sound palette of
lush pads and rhythmic breaks crafted with K41's dance floor in mind |

Luke
Slater presents new Planetary Assault Systems album, Sky Scraping. The iconic
British producer, whose last LP arrived via Ostgut Ton in 2016, follows up
this year's Say It Loud on Token with a full length featuring a wealth of
brand new material. A figure who needs little introduction to fans of the
genre, but whose consistency in the studio and on the road has repeatedly
marked him out as true pioneer of sound design and performance with a
singular vision, Slater first minted the PAS alias in '93. Since then, a slew
of singles and LP's from the industrious artist have made sure Planetary
Assault Systems has become a byword for hypnotic, funk-heavy Techno in a
purist tradition. Toeing the line between heady, psychedelic material and all
out main room fare - Slater's work as PAS captures the very best facets of
the genre, with economically selected parts exquisitely arranged and
engineered with a shrewd and uncompromising ear for what really makes people
move. On the new LP, Slater draws on studio material but also components
recorded during the PAS live show - and he's keen to let fans know the focus
is well and truly on the dance floor with this one: Sky Scraping is a loud
and unabashed celebration of the formative and familiar environments so loved
by the electronic music community, the dark clubs and festivals made special
by their unique ability to bring like minded people together. Sky Scraping
kicks off in characteristically dense, psychedelic fashion with Labstract - a
slice of classic PAS with cavernous low end and a tight, looping sequence
doing the driving work while frenetic drum machine cuts and wide angle synth
sirens shift the track onwards from one phase to the next |

At
this point a regular contributor in defining Token's sound, Border One steps
up for his sixth EP on the label in five years. As in many of his past
projects, 'Where is Now' bleeds character through effect for a trip on the
dancefloor. Establishing the ambiance of the record, Border One meets pace
with depth in the titletrack A1. A pressing bassline and progressively
squelching synth accents combine to press the dancefloor, decorated with
flickering hi hats. The track remains a steady roller throughout while
maintaining an underlying attitude that only adds to its initial drive.
Focusing back his energy on percussion, Border One prioritises eccentric
groove with insistent tone. 'Time Drift' reaffirms his minimalist approach
tothe EP, only inviting anxious drum sequences with rising rides in the
second half. The portal opens steadily in 'Time Drift', establishing a
slightly more meditative tone than he's done in the past. 'Echo State'
returns to resonance, a sound well fit for the label. With quick loops and a
heavy focus on the hypnotic, in a dancefloor-commanding kind of way, the
Belgian artist gives his signature sound that rolls effortlessly off of well
tuned soundsystems. With a tight grip on the track's pressure, Border One
transitions into the final track 'Split Recall'. Here, he finds a direct path
through a heavily psychedelic landscape. Bringing in occasional high pitched
synth sequences and cutting through claps while the stereo field turns and
evolves, Border One creates a closing track with attention to detailing his
arrangement and variance. Rolling off in one section to stomping through
others, the Belgian artist proves once more that his sound continues to be
reinvented throughout his work |
