Kanzleramt freshman Peter Horrevorts continues with his follow
up 12inch "Vaporize"! Peter Horrevorts once again kicks over the
dancefloor as sound-vaporizer. He ties up his debut single "Birth"
and delivers with "Vaporize" a stunning two tracker of a timeless
electronic masterpiece. "Vaporize Pt. 1" comes rakish with a
forward rolling bassline and a really big portion of lightness whereas
"Vaporize Pt. 2" sounds more deep with mysterious and moody elements
but also always warm-hearted. Both parts on Peter Horrevorts release
"Vaporize" come in a playful spherical soundscape and will sure
rough up some dancefloors together with the bouncing bassdrum.
"Vaporize" will be the precursor single to Peter's first
long-player on Kanzleramt which is planned for next springtime. Well you see,

Mike's "Die Trying" is an unusual techno-mix at 115 bpm, it has
hip-hop oriented sounds used as a rave-signal with a hint of an 80's charm.
"Die Trying" original and HLX's Dub come out right at you and
impact on the dance floor is guaranteed! Mike Gates has been producing music
since 1995, he works together with various hip-hop and techno artists and has
had a few 12" releases on labels like DJ Slip's label Creation Rebel.
Today Mike lives in Schenectady, NY and continues to pursue his art and
around him is a great community of artists, friends and family. Mike's
attitude to life is to learn and try out new things, about how to live and do
well by his fellow men |

The OSF-Team from the Crome Album is back together with a
special Edit by Chopstick & Johnjon! Infected by a sketch of Ray Kajioka;
Teo Schulte, Diego Hostettler and Heiko Laux have together produced together
their next OSF-single "How To Scramble Them Eggs?" Chi-Thien Nguyen
and John Muder aka Chopstick & Johnjon got enthusiastic about
"Scrambled" when they heard to Teo's strings for the first time.
Some studio-hours later they edited "Scrambled" as their "Kith
And Kin" mix. OSF's "Scrambled (Pt. 1)" contains more of
Diego's skills playing his typical sound on the keys. OSF goes ahead with
their typical balancing act between modern electronics and jazz - brought up
to speed. "How To Scramble Them Eggs?" is the precursor to OSF's
third album on Kanzleramt which can be expected end of November. "Music

John Parish is again at the controls.It's called Sauvage Formes, a shrewd
title, because everything here is as geometric as it is organic. The incisive

Boomkat Editions is honoured to present a first vinyl edition of
Akira Rabelais' sophomore album, 'Eisoptrophobia' a spellbinding, uniquely
decayed rendering of solo piano pieces by Erik Satie and Bela Bartók. The
2001 release forms a poetic farewell to the 20th century and a bittersweet
embrace of new technological possibility. It's required listening for lovers
of The Caretaker's haunted ballroom elegies, Stephan Mathieu's
electro-acoustic microphony, or indeed the original, classical pieces. First
released in 2001 on CD by Ritornell, a sub-label of Mille Plateaux,
'Eisoptrophobia' is an early iteration of Akira applying his Argeïphontes
Lyre software to classical music, and opening a fascinating schism between
the original object and his modern, subjective perspective in the process.
This process would also generate rarified and haunting results on Akira's
'Spellewauerynsherde' (2004) CD, which was coincidentally issued on vinyl by
Boomkat Editions for the first time in 2017 |

Records has long been renowned as arguably Italy's foremost exporter of house
and techno music. 10 years in, they celebrate one decade in the game courtesy
of 'Bosconi Stallions Volume 2', a 3 x 12' release that features some of the
label's most prominent names. 5 years after the inaugural 'Stallions'
release, 'Vol.2' is a timely reminder of the talents of one of electronic
music's most consistent labels. Before we get to the music, a word for the
artist. Bosconi's iconic stallion is presented again, this time by none other
than Silvano 'Nano' Campeggi. In case you're unaware of the man's work,
Campeggi is one of Italy's most renowned contemporary artists. Active since
the 50s, he has portrayed cultural icons such as Marilyn Monroe and designed
'Ben Hur''s iconic advertisements, which is where he first developed his
famous horses concept. His iconic images are associated with the golden era
of Hollywood, and he also worked on artwork for the likes of 'Napoleon' and
'Casablanca'.Suffice to say, stunning artwork should only be matched with
stunning music, and 'Bosconi Stallions Volume 2' is very much a triumph in
this regard too. From Nas1, who kicks off the release courtesy of the
brilliantly bleepy 'Peli Peli' (complete with 8-bit sounds) to A Guy Called
Gerald, whose 'Always' sees him welcomed back to the Bosconi fold in emphatic
fashion to label boss Fabio Della Torre (who perks up under his Minimono

BXL002 is the second release of the artist-run Brussels based
label BXL. This second release by Simon Halsberghe features the dark discoïd
BLACK TAPE MASS on the a-side. While the title refers to the tape delay
echo's used in the production, it's the groove pushed forward by the pulsing
bass line and the clap that give it that distinct 'Dark Disco' vibe. On the
b-side MACHINE WAILING sounds like an incessant siren. The rest of the
elements in the track all push and pull around this hypnotic siren, giving it
context and power. The last track, GREY OVER WHITE takes the hypnosis deeper
with a deep fizzy bass line, resonant drone and crisp hihats. At the end of
the track additional percussive elements puncture the drone to give way to a
polyrhythmic work out |

Culled over the naïve bedroom sessions of early university,
Chillax' is akin to blaring an extra hot mixtape from a junky deck in your
car on your way to Cape Canaveral to see the last space shuttle leave Earth,
all while trying to speed run Kirby's Dream Land on your sister's GameBoy
Color. Heavy sampling tends to drive this Jeep and give it some character,
many popular/unknown gems lifted from various dusty tapes and wax procured
from thrift stores and vinyl throughout Northern Florida, cheap drum machines
are clumsily slammed against it all and keep everything in a familiarly
dance-y zone, while amateur chords and melodies are provided via Guitar
Center synths and YouTube ripped Commodore 64 blips and stabs (note the
cheeky Nintendo voices as outliers). A fusion of analog discoveries and
pixelated memories (melded together by the relentless Florida heat), its an
apt soundtrack for long and wistful road trips |

Network Records originally issued “Innovator” in 1991 we knew that the music
contained within was timeless. At that time, of course, we had no grasp of
how well Derrick’s epic soundscapes would time travel. We christened the
collection - “Soundtrack For The Tenth Planet” - because it seemed like the

"Boomerang" and "Help Monkeys" are two themes that show
the original spirit of afrobeat, directly influenced by Fela Kuti but adapted

After
a decade releasing club-savvy music, argentinian producer Alejandro Mosso has
lately approached a richer and more profound sound. 'Gaia', his double
12" for Hivern, might be the best expression of such evolution. 'Gaia'
is still conceived with the dance-floor in mind -as a matter of fact, some of
its tracks have become staples in John Talabot's sets as well as in those of
Hivern's core members-. But moreover making people move, it's music that
shows a desire of telling stories. "I prefer to refer to them as songs
instead of tracks, they all have a certain narrative", says Alejandro.
Indeed, these six compositions cover a vast emotional spectrum, expressing
raw emotions through detailed and precise productions that never feel too calculated
or fabricated. Cuts as Rhea, Uranus and Naiads capture a very specific kind
of serene bliss, one in which melancholy is more reassuring than bitter. By
contrast, Ares and Dryads explore darker corners, embodying angst through
tension-rising soundscapes and solemn choral vocal samples. It's a dichotomy
that perfectly captures the ups and downs of any restless mind |

Steve
Pepe's 'Danza Moderna' takes cues of all Manuel Cascone's musical experiences
(from no wave to weird pop, from sound scores to abstract ethno music and
even children music) and puts them "inside the big container called
dance music trying to demolish some of its automatisms". The result is
seven tracks that feel too alive to enclose them in a genre. Music that's
playful and transcendental at the same time, with the kind of natural and
effortless feel that's so hard to achieve. The path to it, indeed, wasn't an
easy one. Cascone had always had the Steve Pepe project in mind. But, as he
admits, the need of having a studio where to produce music full-time took him
to "several disastrous solutions and a lot of logistic and legal problems".
Having been a fixture of the underground scene of Rome since the mid-2000s,
two years ago he finally found a proper space in the city's suburbs where he
could develop his electronic music experiments. The starting point was to
eliminate everything he considered overrated. The list included Ableton live,
samplers, effects, drones, modular systems, loop stations and straight kicks |

experience. In the duo's new EP, 'Wildcard', this mechanism is more intense
than ever. And that might be because of the particular circumstances that
surrounded its inception. Two years ago, Nadia D'Alo and Benedikt Frey
decided to move from Darmstadt to Berlin. Adjusting to a rough area of a big
city when coming from a quiet town necessarily brings a change of
perspective. For Nadia and Benedikt, that meant experiencing the city life as
outsiders while trying to figure out what they wanted from it.'Wildcard' is
the sonic result of this process, and proof that changes always bring growth.
Recorded in their new home studio during winter, the six tracks on the EP are

The
Invariants is a brand new label and production project from Amsterdam. The
first release contains four tracks recorded in the fall of 2012. The new DIY
label looks set to become a firm favourite with connoisseurs of the deep
everywhere. The opening track of the debut EP is a wide-open bit of ambient
soundscaping. Distant muffled voices, lush pads that stretch and smear in
soothing, cerebral ways and sombre synths all make it a magical opener. The
A2 is similar in its smooth textures but is underpinned by a warm, rubbery,
thudding kick drum that propels things along at an inviting pace. The pads
are just as emotive and serene, though, initially sounding insular and sorry
for themselves before a little light and optimism does come in in the latter
stages. On the flip, B1 is a much slower and lazier affair: crisp but icy hi
hats are as far apart as the drums. Rippling chords roll in the foreground
and a slowly emerging sense of groove gets fleshed out with richly reverbing
claps and rising pads. Seriously moody stuff, the EP gets finished in real
style by the deep, whacked out and mid tempo electro groove of the B2 |

Fake Records, ooit begonnen als
een uit de hand gelopen experiment van de rapgroep Uberdope, is doorheen de
jaren uitgegroeid tot een toonaangevend Belgisch indie label, met artiesten
actief op het hoogste niveau. Hoog tijd dus voor een staalkaart van de
verschillende artiesten onder het Gentse label. Onuitgegeven materiaal en
b-sides van Brihang, Bombataz, NTREK en Uberdope worden daarom gecompileerd
op de allereerste 'Fake Sampler 01', die uitkomt op vinyl in een gelimiteerde
oplage. De DIY-mentaliteit van Fake Records krijgt een visuele vertaling in
het sobere artwork van de plaat, waarvan elk exemplaar door de toevoeging van
een apart label enig is in haar soort. De 'Fake Sampler 01' is een mooie
bekroning voor het jarenlang getimmer aan de weg en zou wel eens een
terugkerende traditie kunnen worden in de aankomende jaren. Uit op 7 februari

Troy returns to Klockworks with a powerful 4 track EP following
his contribution to the ‘Klockworks 20’ compilation and his debut solo EP on
the label ‘Klockworks 21’. For this new record, the producer from The Hague
(Netherlands) presents a collection of diverse dance floor cuts channeling a
classic raw techno sound. Utilising the OB-6 analog synthesizer as one of the
main instruments, he recorded all tracks in one take in order to keep the
vibrant energy of the live process |

Pianist
Hendrik Lasure and drummer Casper Van De Velde have worked hard both
separately and together in recent years and have become established artists
in the world of creative contemporary music, still at a very young age. Their
musical urge to experiment seems untamable and you can find them in edgy
electropop bands like "Bombataz" or "In Een Discotheek"
as well as dreamy and minimalist jazz / not jazz formations such as
"Warm Bad" or "Thunder". Furthermore, they were both
recruited by An Pierle and musician/producer Koen Gisen for the An Pierle
Quartet, with whom they completed an international theatre tour in 2018.
Their first and most important joint achievement remains SCHNTZL. After the
successful self-titled debut from 2016 and the in-between EP "paper,
wind" from 2018, they are now releasing their second full album
"catwalk". Twelve characters of songs arose in bedrooms. Customized
pop songs characterized by an open approach, musical humour and narrative
power. The album was recorded in the studio of Koen Gisen (also known as the
third SCHNTZL or the hat of the isosceles triangle) and appears on February 7
on W.E.R.F. Records |

Shaw Cuts enters the site of crime with its first release called
"Have Sword, Will Travel". The EP includes 4 techno assassins - two
tracks by the label founder himself LaChriz, who introduces his shaolin
moniker "Farron" and 2 remixes by the Argentinian boxer Jonas Kopp.
"Equinox" opens the slaughter with shaking break-beat punches in
combination with atmospheric pads surrounding the drum jabs. Ti Lung would
have been pleased. The track "Apo-G" comes in sly and chases the
enemy with dirty drums and menacing distorted sound spheres that will morph
the bad guys into dead guys - throwing star style. The B-side gets taken over
all the way by Jonas Kopp, who brings up two different remixes of
"Equinox" that can easily cut off the rival's extremities like a
sharp guillotine. And the carnage just begun... |

For
the second release, the artist Kaelan joins the ranks of the squad of Shaw
Cuts with the EP "The Silent Swordsman". Equipped by his sharp
stabbing weapon and a mysterious fighting technique taught by the head chief
of the Sun Moon Sect Master Wu himself, Kaelan strikes out to hunt. Not
hectic but silent, so watch your back! The chase starts off with
"Latch", a straight techno banger with swirling chords and
thrusting percussion that can easily slice the villain's face into pieces.
Bloodbath. "Claw" already gives hint to another weapon of Kaelan
just by the track's name. Filled with filtered moving chords and vigorous and
intense drums, this tune would be the perfect soundtrack for the final fight
between two kung-fu masters, surrounded by befogged dead bodies lying on some
mossy floor. On the B-Side, Farron bolsters up the silent swordsman with a
more breakbeat orientated version of "Claw", filled with energetic
clap combos, subtle pads and big bass drum hits. The whole EP is topped off
with the track "Hasen", a beautiful journey into ambient music with
a touching atmosphere. Mission completed. The carnage continues... |

Louder" (2017) and "King Dead" (2018) EPs now the time has

make up Breaking The Seal. Frank Nitzinsky & Nils van Lingen began
collaborating as Ghost In The Machine in 2016, first releasing on the Genosha
Basic label before working with Perc Trax. As remixers they have turned in
acclaimed rerubs of Paula Temple's Joshua & Goliath and Perc & Truss'
Leather & Lace whilst their DJ performances began in their home country
of the Netherlands but soon took them across Europe including making their
Russian debut recently in Moscow. From the extended scene setting intro of
title track "Breaking The Seal" to the genre fusing antics of
"Combo Breaker", "Form Of Steam" and "Nexus 96"
these 8 tracks build on the established Ghost In The Machine sound, but add
something new to each track, taking their sound in directions we've not heard
from them before and which we might not have expected |
