For this one we serve 4 great cuts from 4 great producers. On the A-side we
have young Italian producer and Underground Town resident artist Alex Zola
with a very groovy and positive dreamy track for every situation. Completing
this A-side we have label owner and rising talent in the industry Giorgio
Maulini with another great cut with a very groovy athmosphere and rolling
rhythms demonstrating why this Venezuelan artist is making waves in the
industry. On the B-side we have Cosmjn, who needs no introduction. One of the
Romanian talents with more future projection and a bag full of interesting
releases under his arm. On his track "Vanilla" you can feel the
characteristic Romanian drums and an evolving synth that traps your senses.

then came the Visitations. The fifth opus of the Worst Records library could
appear as an audiobook for transcendental meditations. If the idea of
trance-induced state is no surprise in the music we deliver to the world,
this new album by Ricco goes beyond. The pair formed by Gil.Barte, head of
Kump Records, and HLM38, in charge of house Notte Brigante, dare to offer a
sinuous collection of mantras melted in light, silver dust anddarkness. Each
track navigates through ritualistic slow beats, drum'n'bass-ish half tempo
incantations and other mystic hybrid forms not so far from Kode 9esque or
Shakletonists reminiscences, just to name a few. The titles evoke a spiritual
diagonal, from biblical to Islamic worlds and arcanes, passing through
Persian tradition and obscure references hard to decipher. Several
interludes, leading to the final Prelude, stand as resting rooms to drown the
listener into purifying darkambient, where glitches of enlightenment and
distants sounds from nature slowly disappear in divine drones. You now hold
in your hands a keyholder to somewhere else, a sonic ally through everyday
chaos, and spells to protect the soul. Let yourself loose in enchantment |

Klose One and Claus Fuss return
to their collaborative techno alias OneOneOne with the Pipeline EP. As a DJ,
Klose One’s knack for fusing a house music backbone with elements of UKG,
bass and grime has allowed him to endure as a staple of London’s fast moving
underground scene. Claus Fuss is a classically trained producer and composer,
and a master behind the scenes as co-creator of Zed Bias’ live set, and more
recently the head of live sound for German synth pioneers Tangerine Dream. As
OneOneOne they take an improvisational approach to production, channeling
their ideas through analog equipment and live sequencing. Title track
‘Pipeline’ and closer ‘Bewusst’ demonstrate an economic use of individual
elements to create tightly wound dance floor rollers with a tough edge. The
two let loose on ‘Squeak’ and ‘Jolt’, a pair of stripped back and anthemic
techno bangers, primed for a grunge-y basement setting |

The
Parisian Maxime Iko delivers with "Pray For Us" the follow-up EP
for his BPitch debut "Concilium" from 2018 and sounds as rousing,
playful and danceable as rarely before. Maxime Iko's music has always been
based on a strong groove, concise basslines, pitched down vocals and a
sensitivity to the sexually charged energy of the gay parties that Maxime Iko
co-organized in the French capital. The resident DJ from Ellen Allien's We
Are Not Alone rave parties and the Parisian club Dehours Brut goes even
further with “Pray For Us” and presents four equally strong tracks between
hyperactive techno and retrofuturistic electro vibes - the theme of the EP is
various visions of the apocalypse. A1 number "Dagyde" sets a jagged
pace with its stray arpeggio theme and bone-dry claps - the perfect start to
visualize Maxime Iko's fondness for playfulness and an otherwise rarely found
subtle humor. The title track "Pray For Us" comes with Maxime Iko's
bell-colored signature sound cascades, a simple but effective bass line and
pitched vocals about a religious apocalypse - a deep prime time techno cut

labels have always been risky ventures, marred by uncertainty; you never know
how long they'll last for. Yet, for more than 15 years, Cosmo Vitelli has
kept I'm a Cliché going. During this time, his label, its releases, and the
artists behind them have found their place in the musical landscape, standing
proudly and defiantly in the margins, a place where music is always more
interesting and fluid than right in the middle of the spotlight. After
countless EPs, several albums and a compilation, a new chapter in I’m a
Cliché’s story begins, one with a greatly reduced release schedule. To mark
this turning point, the label releases Bongo Beats & Bankruptcy, its
second compilation ever. Aesthetically coherent and simultaneously diverse in
its expressions, Bongo Beats & Bankruptcy is a celebration of the label
(and the label manager’s) quirks and eccentricities and a tongue-in-cheek
snapshot that brilliantly captures the label’s DNA, featuring friends and
allies along with newer faces on 13 exclusive tracks scattered over 3 LPs.
Whether they are downtempo, uptempo or ambient like Orestt's contribution,
each tune on this compilation distills in its own idiosyncratic way I’m a
Cliché’s essence: electronic music influenced by club culture but in no way
constrained to the dancefloor. Ivan Smagghe & Marc Collin’s analog synth
track by their acclaimed Volga Select project, June’s dreamy tune at the
crossroads between wave and kraut influences, Coy’s mutant synth arpeggios,
and an old-school wave cut by Oliver Decrow mixed by Dunkeltier are all
tracks boldly standing on the dancefloor's margins. For those looking for
club-ready tracks that with I’m a Cliché’s one-of-a-kind atmosphere will

blistering buddy to the first instalment of Pig&Dan’s ‘Tunnel Vision’ EP
will land in April. Not one to rest on their laurels, Pig&Dan have come
out firing in 2020. One of the techno genre’s most prolific artists, their 17
year has seen a wealth and consistency of output unmatched by most in the
industry. This is exemplified by the ‘Tunnel Vision’ series launched on
Drumcode this year. Set for release just one week after its predecessor, part
2 continues in powerful, peak- time mode. ‘Sirenism’ is a tour de force,
driven by a pulsating lead that pops with acidic undertones. ‘Rinse Out The
Sound’ is an intoxicating blend of warbled effects, warm synth layers and
crisp drum work. ‘Perception’ is marked by an exuberant top line riff and
steely percussive layers and makes for a colourful addition to any set.
‘Wasted’ is muscular techno at its finest, finished with a glistening layer
of melody. No surprise the collection went down a treat at Warehouse Project,

a little treat for Valentines Day, a double AA-side single from Manchester
hip hop soul heavyweights, Children of Zeus. Two non-album loosies get an
official release on First Word on this, their 5th 7" vinyl single
release. First up, there's some classic vintage soul vibes on the slinkily
smooth sounds of 'Royal', which first appeared as a free download on
Valentines Day last year. The inimitable vocals of Tyler Daley saunter atop a
truly regal break on this essential slow jam - perfect quiet storm business.
On the flip, a more contemporary jam sitting somewhere in the cracks between
neo-soul, new jack swing and hip hop, as CoZ do so well, on the uplifting new
year, new mantra of 'Get What's Yours', which previously appeared on First

Angolan
producer 'Nazar' coined the term “Rough Kuduro” as an interpretation of the
Kuduro musical style, translating the upbeat sound to expose the uglier side
of what he saw in Angola, heard first on 2019’s astonishing six track
‘Enclave’ EP. ‘Guerrilla’, Nazar’s debut album, examines his family’s
collective memory and country's past, threading together oral histories,
political realities, and artful re-imaginings of direct horrors, to document
his personal story of the 25 year Angolan civil war and it's aftermath in a
detailed and episodic manner, particularly how his father's rank as a Rebel
General led to a prolonged and continuing separation of his family across
continents. Nazar tells his story both impressionistically, and at times with
stark directness. Rumbling bass overlaid with piercing synths mixes with
field-recorded Ovimbundu folk song and a distant waterfall. The sound of a
cocking gun leads into tumbling Kuduro beats and driving low-end bass.
Elsewhere, slow, menacing dub suggests violent civil unrest, while reversed
vocal shouts and protesting Portuguese rhymes evoke a pervasive atmosphere of
chaos. ... Further in, we hear Nazar’s mother recalling the day she left home
aged 16 to join the rebel movement, his sisters harmonising in the background
over field recordings made in the ruins of his grandparent's home. After the
housey ‘FIM-92 Stinger’, the album snaps back to the ferocity of conflict
with the guttural ‘Immortal’, its deep bass shrouded in haunting shrieks
driven by clicks and distortion, reflecting a time in the very early years of
the rebel movement when witchcraft was used to procure immortality. ‘End Of
Guerrilla’ is the final reprieve, reflecting the euphoria and melancholy that
came with eventual ceasefire … “It’s about the end, but also dignity and
remaining standing despite being mutilated. Making your voice heard despite
not having anything to say.” |

The
eagerly awaited 4th album, follow up Album to “Graal” by renowned German
producer, DJ and artist Christian Löffler. Born and based in the seaside town
of Graal-Müritz, Germany, Christian Löffler has always been driven by a
desire to be creative. Painting ever since he was a teen, he always strived
to capture the essence of whatever he creates. In Christian Löffler’s own
words, “Still, today, it’s the same feeling that drives me, and it makes no
difference what I use for it, whether it is music or paint”. Soon after, he
transposed his creativity to music as he started teaching himself the
fundamentals of electronic music, which eventually led to his signature
melancholic sound. During the course of the production of his EP’s like
Heights, Raise, and Aspen, he started utilising live instrumentation in his
music to try and capture his surroundings. His critically acclaimed debut
album The Forest saw him expanding his sound to include singers like Mohna
and Gry. After a slew of releases and constant touring, this prolific
producer continues to paint in his spare time which has, in turn, become a
source of inspiration for his own music. Christian Löffler’s has seen radio
support from BBC Radio 1’s ‘Chillest Show with Phil Taggart’, Essential Mix

Etapp
Kyle returns to Ostgut Ton with Nolove, a project encompassing a four-track
EP, short film and forthcoming web exhibition focusing on Western Ukraine.
Specifically, the music and artwork home in on the cities of
Kamianets-Podilskyi and Chernivtsi in Bukovina, where Etapp Kyle grew up and
developed his interest in electronic music. Although now part of Ukraine,
Bukovina had previously been part of Moldova, the Habsburg Empire, the
Russian Empire, Romania and the Soviet Union. Its turbulent history and
position on the border of Romania and Moldova have resulted in an extremely
varied tapestry of cultural influence, as featured in the video for title
track “Nolove”. There, youth, fashion, music culture sit side-by-side next to
religion, violence and war – and larger political struggles. The EP gives
shape to the musical developments Etapp Kyle has made in both the studio and
DJ booth since the release of 2017's Alpha, his latest 12" for Ostgut
Ton. In contrast, Nolove's four tracks are minimalistic, detailed electronic
ventures inspired by personal reflections on Chernivtsi and Ukrainian
cultural identity |

(re)connection with esoteric environs with a patient dose of intelligent

versatile, raw, and straight to the point. Next up, “Hibiscus” presents a
more dubbed, subtle sound that is just as addictively danceable. In essence a
post-modern reconstruction of Kotton the Cutie - think Baltimore club muzik

first “Lightning Ridge” is delivered with bags of attitude and is truly club

is the 17th release on RIOT Radio Records, an independent techno label based
in Scotland. Protagonist status in one city is high praise indeed, holding
key stakes in several is something else entirely. Something that Spanish born
and Scottish bred Dave Tarrida can boldly claim. Currently located in Vienna,
Dave is the label boss at ‘Autofake’ and he’s the founder and resident of the
legendary Edinburgh club ‘Sativa’ where he met Neil Landstrumm, Tobias
Schmidt and Cristian Vogel, becoming a foursome that would shape their

Soul Jazz Records enter into the mighty vaults of Studio One, the most
respected label in reggae history, we present you with this showcase of
Jackie Mittoo, one of the defining figureheads of reggae music! From forming
The Skatalites, at age 15, alongside Don Drummond, Roland Alphonso, Tommy
McCook and others, to his work as writer, arranger, producer at Studio One
records during the sixties, writing and playing for artists such as Alton
Ellis, Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths and The Heptones (to name a few), to his
career as a solo artist as well as leader of bands such as The Soul Brothers,
Soul Vendors and The Sound Dimension, Jackie Mittoo is at the heart of reggae
music. He was one of the instigators of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae. In the
seventies, DJ music and Dancehall were based upon classic rhythms of the
sixties, many using the instrumental tracks that Jackie Mittoo created at
Studio One at this time. This compilation features the work of Jackie Mittoo
at Studio One. It features music recorded as a solo artist (as opposed to the
numerous singers that he accompanied). Most of these are taken from his
recordings in the mid sixties where he was recording on an almost daily basis
at Studio One's Brentford Road studios developing the funky reggae sound that
was his trademark. Soul Jazz Records are releasing this CD as the first of a
series of Reggae artists to be covered following the success of the 100%
Dynamite releases. Jackie Mittoo is as much an icon of Reggae as he is to
fans of Funk music. He is without doubt the funkiest keyboard player ever to

You can call it what you want but they put out everything from synth-pop to

Barcelona-based
multifaceted artist Raven joins Radio Slave’s Rekids with an incredibly
imaginative five-track debut release. Born in Canada, Raven is a talented
nomad who’s been cutting her teeth as a DJ, producer, singer and songwriter
whilst living in Los Angeles, Chicago, Berlin, Toronto, and Mexico City. As a
performer, she joins the dots between Techno, Acid, Electro and early Rave: a
genre-spanning approach she applies to her productions too, making her a
difficult artist to pigeonhole. Discovered by Matt Edwards, Raven now joins
Rekids - a label responsible for introducing some of electronic music’s most
incendiary names to the scene, including the likes of Nina Kraviz and Peggy
Gou. Opening gently with ethereal atmospherics, ‘Flames’ springs into action
with galloping percussion, echoing effects, metallic nuances and Raven’s
poignant singing. Following on, ‘Saint’ bangs from the word go courtesy of
its convoluted rhythm, piercing claps and soaring background synths whilst
rave sounds and murky lyrics operate throughout. Thudding kicks and
crystalline pads then pair up beautifully with her serene voice in the lively
‘In2U’, leading into the more downtempo ‘BBGRL’ that employs purring
sub-bass, emotional melodies and acid squelches |

boss Matt Edwards debuts on Rekids Special Projects under his prolific Radio
Slave moniker with ‘Command Z’, marking the twentieth release on the offshoot
series. Undeniably one of house and techno’s most sought after and beloved
producers and remixers, Matt Edwards kickstarted Special Projects as a techno
focused series in 2017. Since then it has gone on to host incredible artists
like FBK, Shinedoe, P.Leone, Hemka and Dustin Zahn, not to mention SRVD -

Ruskin & Mark Broom are back as The Fear Ratio with their third album
‘They Can’t Be Saved’. The duo, who are long-term collaborators have created
their own signature style with abstract synths, heavy basslines and
experimental soundscapes that fit somewhere in between IDM, electronica and
ambient. Their acclaimed debut album ‘Lightbox’ was initially released in
2011 on Ruskin’s Blueprint Records, featuring remixes from Warp aficionados
Plaid and Deadhand. Soon after they formed a long-lasting relationship with

Zeitgeist
Freedom Energy Exchange is the meeting point of improvisation and dance
music. Headed up by drummer Ziggy Zeitgeist, a staple of the Australian music
scene, most prominently touring and recording with Melbourne Nu-Soul/
future-jazz collective ‘30/70’. Ziggy’s music has already been championed
across the breadth of the jazz and dance world, with support from the likes
of Gilles Peterson, Kamaal Williams, Byron the Aquarius and Alexander Nut
just to name a few. Growing up in Australia, with no real club culture in
sight, Ziggy’s formative years were at the ‘bush doof’ - an outback rave
where speakers were driven to remote lands and dance music would blast from
the wee hours in the morning to the wee hours at night. This is what Ziggy
describes as the playground of Australian Electronic Music. “This is our
culture of electronic music. It’s about exploring the spectrum of
consciousness and a connection with ourselves, one another and the land.”
Z*F*E*X is the synthesis of dance music in human form. A live band experience

Salón Dadá was a Peruvian
post-punk band made up of Támira Bassallo, Jaime de Lama and Juan Huamán
Hoover, active in the Lima underground movement of the 80s, known as
"Rock subterráneo". They left no official recordings. But at the
end of 1986, they did record a 4-track rehearsal which began to circulate as
an unofficial demo, becoming a classic of the period. "Ensayo 1986"
("Rehearsal 1986") is now published for the first time in vinyl
format. Presented as a pink 7-inch EP, this new addition to our Essential
Sounds collection is a companion to the Salón Dadá & Col Corazón LP Salón
Dadá & Col Corazón - Lo que no existe, existe: Registros de una saga post
punk en el Perú (1986-1990) (BUHR116), which collects live recordings.

Jamaican
love songs always came across as heartfelt poetry whether they conveyed a
broken heart, unrequited love or even the message ‘it’s all over don’t bother
to come back’ anecdotes. But whatever the mood the singers of these songs
were so good and versatile that putting such subject matter over in a few
verses was always so moving and believable. Jamaican love songs were a
constant in the ever evolving sounds and journey’s that reggae music took us
on, from ska to rocksteady to the early reggae sounds of the late 1960’s
early 1970’s. We have complied a great selection of songs that all deal with
that timeless subject matter. Max Romeo’s heartfelt ‘Sometimes’ opens our set
in fine style, known more for his roots singing this song proves what a great
singer he is. The Melodians a great Jamaican vocal group are featured here
with ‘Best Girl’. The Sensations provide us with our title track ‘Born To
Love You ‘and the theme for this compilation a great rocksteady tune with
fantastic harmonies. Alton Ellis gives us the soulful ‘Room Full Of Tears’.
Ken Boothe provides us with his rendition of Dennis Brown’s ‘Money In My
Pocket’ the ode that money cannot buy
you everything. Cornell Campbell sings one of his most overlooked classic
songs with his prideful `She Wears My Ring’. The great singer of love
songs himself Mr John Holt tells us that we should all
`Reconsider’, before giving up on love and a great lost singer Monty Morris
gives us two great examples of how to find love in `Do It My Way’ and `Magic
Moments’. A great selection delivered as only Jamaica can do with style and

From the swamping lands of
Finland death & grind trio Galvanizer emerges with their debut album
"Sanguine Vigil" after having paid all their dues with several
tapes and a 7"EP like we were used back in the 90s. Galvanizer have
quickly become one of the most promising underground acts around, their old
school approach perfectly combines with their youthful energy and their sound
will perfectly please both fans of old school Finnish death metal and modern

One year after their
"Justicia Cósmica" LP RATA NEGRA are back with a two song single of
dark pop perfection. On the A side the Madrid power trio puts music to a poem
of José María Gabriel y Galán (1870-1905) turning its melancholic prose into a
mid tempo punk beauty with surf guitars and deep bass tones bringing to mind
the almighty GOLPES BAJOS on speed. A chance meeting of Spanish Costumbrism
and kitsch as seen on the song's video. The flip side "Problemas,
No" brings back to life VIDEO's minor hit from 1983 updating the Synth
Pop of the original to a sharp upbeat punk jam which will have you dancing
your shoes off. Recorded in Madrid at Metropol and mastered at London's Finyl
Tweek La Hija Del Sepulturero comes housed in a sleeve designed by the band's
Guitarrist Fa with help from Vocalist Violeta and includes a lyric insert |

chosen material on The Preservation Tapes is unreleased, has only been heard
by a handful of people and showcases a relatively unknown period in Bruce's
musical career where Bruce was recording for Sparrow Records (who billed
themselves as @America-s best Christian music record label"). Bruce's
signature Farad vocoder continues to feature prominently, but the lyrical
content is decidedly more religious. Preservation Tapes is a small window
into a largely unknown period of devotion in Bruce Haack's life. Assembled
from 218 raw 1&4" tapes, Preservation Tapes is comprised of 100%
unreleased material ranging from deep groove, bubbly synth/pop, instrumental
synth explorations, experimental tidbits and a heartwarming crooner ballad.

sweet female voice that seemed to be an hymn to love, a strong pre-house
atmosphere soon introduces an extravagant synths as a prelude to the hot
bass-line combined with the Italian rap of Celeste. Many of you will
recognize its melody used in 2002 by Felix da Housecat on his tune
"Happy Hour". RIS is another one superbe collaboration by Tony

Pilo
returns to BNR in 2020 with the “A.R.E.A.” EP. Since his first release for
the label in 2013 at a very young age, each subsequent record could be seen
as a milestone of growth - the “A.R.E.A. EP” feels confident, produced with
consummate skill, focusing on the LA-producers strongest themes and devices.
This is not, however, the sort of “maturity” that sees things get boring,
more restrained. Pilo’s drum is the beat of LA’s unhinged underground techno
scene - they don’t do boring - and this drum is always banging. A-side
examples: “Acid by Mouth.” A stuttered kick and a gated, uncanny valley voice
form the backbone for increasing layers of texture and percussion. It’s a
rollercoaster, as viscerally satisfying on the way up as on the way down.
Pilo’s production journey has been increasingly cinematic, and you can see
the songs here - “Acid by Mouth” is suited for a Gaspar Noe nightclub scene,
and you love to hear it as long as no one gets murdered. “Ruhig” is tribal,
made for spaces with 4 story high ceilings and sparse but blinding flashes of
light. You can hear steel beams buckling under pressure, a breath too close
behind you |

Jaguar
Jaguar brings us their latest work, one year after the release of their debut
EP 'Montjoi'. Their second EP 'Madelyn' is the artistic result of a period of
seclusion in France. The sun makes room for the Lynchian fall. More mature
and bolder than before: Jaguar Jaguar will guide you through a mysterious and
tropical journey into the wild. They challenged themselves in writing a new
chapter in which they experiment and touch upon expanding their musical
boundaries. For instance, they've invited Teme Tan over to find and explore
the worlds between music and visuals. Once again, there aren't any faces from
the members of Jaguar Jaguar in the spotlight. They leave your imagination
run by showcasing their music through a short film, directed by Tina Herbots
and guitarist Emiel Raeymaekers. The music videos of 'Out of Sight feat. Teme
Tan' and 'My Guess' are a taste of that. Madelyn, which is the title of the
short film and EP, tells the story of a search for a desire and the
impossibility of it. In their first year, they made a name for themselves
