full/length from Warsaw Poland's MORON'S MORONS is here and shitting all over
everything you thought you knew about "punk rock." As iconoclasts
in the genre, duh Morons have concocted a rather challenging and unique album
called "Looking for Danger" where every track sounds like Germs
"G.I.," Angry Samoans' "Back from Samoa," and
"Damned Damned Damned," with subject matter provided by VOM's
"Live at Surf City" EP all played at the wrong speed backwards,
layered on top of each other and turned inside out in an exercise in
multi-dimensional stupidity with nonstop twists and turns. Juvenile silliness
has never reigned so supreme on an album saturated with such noisy obnoxious
violence that burns so bad you'll be begging for a double shot of penicillin
before you get a chance to flip it over! |

the mysterious "Newlock Records" (apparently associated with the
even more mystifying pirate label "Records Production") is a
production by Giuseppe Sergio Santapaga, a guitarist from Milano, and Edo Martin
an Italian session musician. Supercool would seem to be a sort of cover of a
song contained in the soundtrack of "Revenge Of The Pink Panther"
and the mystery about this song thickens, and it is this stuff for the freaks
of Discogs, since there is an unobtainable instrumental version called
"Entity" by the "Entity Band" |

Anna
Vs June is the alias of Anna Papaioannou a contemporary music composer from
Greece. She captures the perfect balance between electronic and traditional
sounds, representing her western and eastern musical influences. Having
traveled extensively in rural areas around Greece, she has gathered diverse
singing practices from a wide range of areas stretching from the island of
Crete to the North East edges of Epirus. In the third release of the newcomer
Yalanchi, Anna comes into the picture to share her musical interpretation of
growing up in a country that is constantly experiencing an identity crisis.
Encompassing her aforementioned research, all tracks on the record are based
on traditional music from different parts of Greece, featuring the voices of
Anna herself, in addition to guest performances by Stephanos Theodoropoulos
from Nea Kios, Nikos Mais-Zogos from Lefkada and Alexis Voutouris with a
violin performance. The continuous mix represents 5 songs pressed on heavy
duty transparent vinyl and housed in a full printed sleeve with a photograph
taken in the South of Azerbaijan by the label founder Ayaz |

Longtime
fans of Sheffield's Central Processing Unit may well remember Annie Hall.
When CPU dropped her 2016 EP Tenured Positions it felt like a perfect union
of label and artist - the atmospheric take on classic electro that Annie Hall
had presented in her previous releases for labels such as Semantica and
Detroit Underground was very much in sync with the CPU sound. Sure enough,
Tenured Positions was an instant hit with CPU heads old and new, and the
record remains highly sought-after to this day. Now, four years on from
Tenured Positions, the Barcelona-based Annie Hall returns to CPSmith's
imprint with new EP Fum. Fum picks up where Tenured Positions left off.
Snapping broken-beat electro grooves anchor Fum's midsection of 'D'un Altre
Planeta' and its title-track. 'D'un Altre Planeta' is the most lively cut on
the EP - there is real bite to the drums here which recalls everything from
B12 to Star Eyes to early-90s hardcore - while 'Fum's beats are more
low-slung and come bolstered by an electro-funk-flavoured bassline. These 2
tracks are bookended by 'Verd Mar' and 'Promeses De Fusta', joints which
straighten out their rhythms into more linear IDM-techno beats |

Mann were the gay New Wave duo of Frank Oldham Jr (vocals, lyrics) and Paul
Hamman (music) from New York City formed in 1981. Frank studied voice and
acting at the Herbert Bergdorf School idolizing Eartha Kitt, Nancy Wilson,
Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey. Paul was playing piano for a cabaret singer
at a bar in Greenwich Village where Frank met him and their friendship began.
Paul and Frank worked together 3 to 4 times a week recording their debut
self-titled album released in 1982, limited to 500 copies. Songs provide
interesting insights into the homosexual experience before the AIDS crisis:
cruising backroom bars, BDSM and one-night stands. The music is
"Neo-realistic rock" heavily influenced by punk, titillating,
synthesized body and soul with Frank’s dramatized vocal stylings. The
original press release sent to radio stations stated, "Because this is a
completely innovative sound, we hope you will give it several listenings. It
is adventurous, daring, and certain to cause reactions from your listeners.” |

London-based
guitarist and producer Leo Abrahams and NYC master musician (and boss of
figureight records) Shahzad Ismaily unite for a unique imagining of guitar
music on Visitations. The work of two highly skilled, highly celebrated
musicians, Visitations marks a curious, mysterious, uncanny collection of
music, offering a take on guitar playing that snakes and collides with
unexpected turns. It encourages - requires even - a deep listening
experience, every discordance balanced with harmony, every darkness balanced
with light; it is eloquent and subtle in equal measure. Influenced by the
meditative, subtly changing cellular iterations of Morton Feldman and the
sonic austerity of early Roy Montgomery, these minimalistic and
anti-virtuosic pieces are not easily categorised. Abrahams writes
“Visitations represents the sound of two slightly jet-lagged
fellow-travellers saying hello to each other, before passing on through.”
Perhaps it is inevitable that the meeting point of two such musicians would
yield a record so powerful and singular as Visitations. Leo Abrahams is a
Royal Academy graduate, a collaborator of Brian Eno, Imogen Heap, Jarvis
Cocker, David Holmes, Regina Spektor, Jon Hopkins and Paul Simon, and a
filmscore composer. He has released numerous solo albums and is listed with
production, performance and arrangement credits on countless more. Shahzad
Ismaily plays a host of instruments - guitar, electric and double bass,
banjo, accordion, flute, drums and electronic instruments. He is a member of
Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog band as well as Secret Chiefs 3 and Ex Eye (with
Colin Stetson and Greg Fox). His list of collaborators is astonishing. It
includes Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, John Zorn, Laraaji, Laura Veirs, Bonnie
"Prince" Billy, Marianne Faithfull, Elvis Costello, Feist, Bryce
Dessner, Dustin O'Halloran, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell, Oren Ambarchi, Damien
Rice, JFDR among countless more. Interestingly, the two musicians had
featured on many of the same recordings without ever having met. Eventually
they crossed paths in London and over the course of the next year, whenever
they found themselves in the same city, they would take an hour to improvise
together. The palette was deliberately simple - two electric guitars,
straight into the desk. It was recorded at Abrahams’ Coronet studio in London
and Ismaily’s Figure 8 in Brooklyn |

entitled ‘Feelin’ Good’ featuring two outstanding remixes from label owner
Radio Slave. Having supported Rekids for many years in his sets across the
globe, it only made sense for Laurent Garnier to drop one of his finest
productions to date on the label. Although the legendary Frenchman has kept
busy producing movie soundtracks (‘Paris Est A Nous’) and remixes in recent
years, this is his first full release since 2017. He’s joined in the studio
by Chambray, a Berlin-based producer known for releasing on Figure, Unknown
To The Unknown and Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic. Opening with sporadic battle
cries, stabbing claps and powerful bass sequences before rapturous piano melodies
come into effect – ‘Feelin’ Good’ is undoubtedly one of this year’s biggest
tracks. On the flip, Radio Slave assembles two contrasting remixes that do
just as much damage: the first is an atmospheric number that marches forward
using precision kicks, rattling percussion and rising pads, whilst the
‘Revenge Mix’ cranks things up a notch with its crunchy breaks before

welcome electronic composer Matthew Puffett AKA Future Beat Alliance with his
killer single ’Never Forever’ a sublime slice of broken beat techno that
originally had a limited release on his “Patience and Distance” album in

years Missy Sippy, 10 years Ghent Blues scene. Five years ago on March 6,
2015, Missy Sippy Blues & Roots Club started off with a fierce opening
party and since then has only gone from strength to strength. The monthly
blues jams, local heroes concerts, club concerts with international stars,
lindy hop evenings, burlesque shows and a genuine Blues and Roots festival
during the ‘Gentse Feesten’ provide a constant stream of quality evenings.
These evenings usher in the necessary fresh wind that reclaims Blues and
Roots music from oblivion and makes it sexier and more appealing to younger
generations. Since its inception, Missy Sippy has been the ideal place for
musicians with a heart for Blues and Roots to meet, jam together, form bands
and pursue personal artistic development. When the Belgian blues musicians
Tiny Legs Tim and Guy Verlinde were introduced by a mutual friend 10 years
ago, neither could have guessed this would turn out to be the proverbial big
bang that created the vibrant Blues & Roots scene in Ghent, now based in
Missy Sippy. The first years of this evolution and numerous crucial
encounters – such as with the owners Marie Follebout and Jelle de Boevé –
that led to the first real blues club in Ghent, is sublimely documented in
the film ‘Goin’ Down To Missy Sippy’
(A production by Dominique Willaert, 2020). Last winter, Tiny Legs Tim went
into the studio with about 20 of these resident musicians to capture the
musical identity of the first 5 years on tape. The 12 songs on MISSY SIPPY
ALL STARS VOL. I are an illustration of the wealth of young talent, diversity
and collegiality that are so characteristic of the Ghent blues scene. The
recordings were conceived according to the principle of the blues jams: 2
fixed rhythm sections were combined with alternating line-ups. In order to
guarantee spontaneity, everything was played live and recorded on tape with
analogue equipment. The result is a multicoloured album that captures the
essence of ‘making music together’; a sample of the quality and diversity
that explains why Missy Sippy is the epicentre of Belgian Blues & Roots
music today. (Ghent, March 2020) On Friday the 6th of March , exactly 5 years
after the opening, the MISSY SIPPY ALL STARS will launch the album in the

Niney
the Observers first dub album Dubbing With The Observer was cut at King
Tubbys Studio with Tubby himself reworking Nineys rhythms and adding his
magic as only he could do. Niney The Observer (b. Winston Holness, 1951
Montego Bay, Jamaica) by the early 70s had forged a successful working
partnership with singer Dennis Brown cutting some of his best songs adding a
more rootsy element to the singers sound. Songs like Westbound Train, No More
Will I Roam, I Am the Conqueror to name but a few. Also cutting a hit for Ken
Boothe Silver Words and two other singers that Niney had grown up with, Max
Romeo That Was Love and Delroy Wilson Halfway Up The Stairs. It was these
tracks and a few other Dennis Brown worked rhythms, that Niney took to King
Tubbys studio at 18 Drumilly Avenue, Kingston 11, with the intention to let
Tubby remix and enhance the rhythms Tubby Style. The result was to be Nineys
first Dub album the mighty Dubbing with the Observer. On completion it was
sent to London and it was then released on Trojan records and named Dub album
of the Year. We are proud to put that album back out there for all to hear,
what has now become a dub classic |

Hidden
Spheres is the alter ego of Manchester’s Tom Harris, who first made his mark
on the underground circuit with his release 'The Bloos' on Moods &
Grooves, before following it up with the much in demand ‘Waiting’ on Lobster
Theremin offshoot Distant Hawaii. Here, Tom joins the Scissor & Thread
family, the Brooklyn label founded by Francis Harris, and home to music that
traverses a number of boundaries. Hidden Spheres fits right in - the five
track 1985 EP blends house, broken beat, ambient, jazz and other elements
into a heady brew. 'King Tut' starts proceedings, a laid back jazzy groove,
rich in textures and soulful flourishes. 'My Names' touches on the UK broken
beat legacy of 4 Hero and Bugz in the Attic - an off kilter groove layered with
sweet jazz and house inflected licks. ‘Karl' is a much more direct dancefloor
track, albeit with the deepness that we expect from Hidden Spheres.The
penultimate track '1985' steps into the unconventional house vibes of
Detroit's third wave. 'Soon We’ll' finishes up the EP - a supremely jazzy
piece built around the sax, piano and washes of strings and ambient elements
- a superb closer for a deep and heartfelt release |

Searching
for a distinct sound, a dreamy soundscape that will reach both the mind and
the soul, Particular has found the perfect man to deliver their first
release. Co-founder of the Lisière Collectif project, Andu Simion comes from
the outskirts of Ploieti, Romania and you can hear the industrial side of the
city in his sound. It's safe to say that, while clearly being inspired by the
Romanian minimal movement, he has crafted his own particular style: a deep,
if maybe just a little acid-infused journey that has landed him last year a
huge release on Atipic, Priku's label. This vinyl-only release starts off
with Got To Be Real, a track full of overlapping percussions that steal the
show, at least until the heavy bassline unleashes and the sudden change works
wonders, making the listener want to get his feet moving. The second track on
the A side, Aquarium 00 (name is inspired by the 2000's internet café called
Aquarium located in Ploieti), is certainly a change in tone and a more moody
affair, full of trippy and stirring sounds, a welcome contrast that works
perfectly |

Born between Brooklyn and Madrid,
Mari.te presents uncharted sounds on a new label that will test the
dancefloor and create new paths for those who remember long after the lights
turn on. The debut vinyl-only EP comes via Neik, alongside a remix by Noha.
The atmospheric frequencies of Radio Tango' are built for the moments that
bookend the party, a slice of building raw euphoria. Then comes the
skittering bounce of Doc Knock,' a cut filled with its own playful sounds
that warm and soothe. Desmaterializado,' and its hurried bassline, turn
slightly more experimental without losing its groove. Noha follows up with a
