The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) delivers his
first full-length Electro album in 17 years. Released this May on Sync 24's
burgeoning Cultivated Electronics label, 'Life Cycles' finds the past meeting
the future. Because, to get a truer feel for this new long-player, we should
head back even further to a 1995 classic - The Advent's debut album,
'Elements Of Life'. In fact, fans will recognise a nod to the original
artwork of that seminal release, as 'Life Cycles' takes us full circle,
containing unreleased Electro gems from the '90s, available for the first
time. "I have been making electro music for nearly 3 decades now and
excited to see that it is in demand with this new wave of talented producers
out there. 'Life Cycles' is an album where I explore my older past and
connect with the future, 2020 and this new electro generation," says
Cisco. Ever since Cisco Ferreira discovered Acid House in the London clubs he
frequented, his journey has been about making his mark on the electronic
music scene. Fresh from college he landed a job as assistant sound-engineer
in several recording studios where he learned the art of translating feelings
to frequencies, recording high profile artists from the world of Rock, Pop,
Dance and Reggae. When acid label, Jack Trax moved in next-door, Cisco
started recording for the likes of Adonis, Fingers Inc, Marshall Jefferson
and Derrick May. These rendezvous sparked the inspiration for his first EPs
on R&S and Fragile. By 1994 Ferreira had signed a record deal for 12 EPs
and 3 albums together with Colin McBean. This was the beginning of an era
during which the duo set a worldwide standard for high quality underground
Electro and Techno. They hit the world with a refreshing sound, both as The
Advent, and G Flame (Cisco) and Mr G (the alias Colin still uses today).
Nowadays The Advent is a solo project for Cisco as he bombards crowds around
the world with his trademark raw, energetic sound. As much as The Advent is
known for uncompromising Techno, so his Electro has been a huge influence for
a lot of young Electro artists today (including his own son and sometime
Electro collaborator, Zein) and when you listen to 'Life Cycles' you'll
understand why. From the moment the beats kick in on track 1, 'Music Is Life'
we're met with full on Advent power. The album explores classic old-school
Electro vibes from the tough machine funk of tracks like 'This Is Not' and
'Vast' to the acid excursions on 'Panda', via some the ghetto boogie of
'L.U.' or 'Stasis V2'. And lest we forget what an amazing live performer The
Advent is, there's even the deeply hypnotic 'Live@Motor 1998' |

In
the Summer of 2018 Flying Horseman started quietly tinkering on new material
in the top-secret lab of their Antwerp rehearsal space. Spontaneously, a
sound emerged that was subtly playful and at times surprisingly funky. In the
process they realised that - after four consecutive collaborations with Koen
Gisen - they wanted to explore new horizons for the production. Enter the
widely acclaimed knob-wizard and multi-instrumentalist Jasper Maekelberg
(Faces On TV, Balthazar, Warhaus). A single tentative but inspiring exchange
at a cafe was all it took for Jasper and Horseman-frontman Bert Dockx to
decide that, despite very different musical personalities, they would work
together. Now (exactly ten years after the release of their debut Wild Eyes)
Flying Horseman is announcing its sixth offspring: Mothership. It is a
concise, pared down album consisting of eight adventurous, colourful songs
with a deep heart and a wide-open mind. The sound manages to be transparent,
direct and punchy, without sacrificing this unique band's signature layering
and mesmerising atmosphere |

the annals of German electronic music history. Harry Thumann was based in
Munich, and primarily worked as a studio engineer, but his own recorded work
was vitally important too. An early adopter of MIDI, and with a propulsive
electronic disco sound that was right at the cutting edge of the times, the
four "experiments" Best have gathered here represent some of the
most potent dancefloor jams he created - full-fat technicolour fever dreams

Project founded in Milan in 1979
by musicians producers Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga, Matteo Bonsanto and
published one year later in the States by Sergio Cossa on Emergency Records.
At the time when people were seen dancing on skates on the notes of "Bounce,
Rock, Skate, Roll" of Vaughan Mason And Crew, "I'm Ready" by
super-studio-group Kano it represented a great way to start the decade of the
80s for the Italian productions. Its famous bass-line has been sampled tons
of times and the original track still sets dance floors on fire. On the flip
side "Holly Dolly" it's a pioneering example of stripped down
electronic synthesized disco which will become a trademark of many
productions to come in those years |

Massaroni Record (MSR) was born
with the collaboration between the distributor Ermanno Massaroni and the disc
jockey Roberto Onofri, who was also a radio and television presenter.
"Let's Go Out" captures the essence of the very first Italo-Disco
in its most genuine and melodic form where it's not easy to understand the
vocal part but this gives to the song a certain ambiguity and a rare case in
which the vocoder is fine. In addition to original, radio and the essential
instrumental version there is a well structured and strong M.B. Roller Disco
Edit by Massimo Berardi (former Harlem Hustlers) useful to give greater

We are proud to welcome back San
Francisco based DJ and producer Sepehr Alimagham for his debut album
‘Shaytoon’. Drenched in nostalgia from his upbringing, ‘Shaytoon’ pays homage
to 1970s Iranian albums that were on rotation throughout his youth. Eight tracks
of twisted acid, left-of center electro, sludgy psychedelia, and
things-you-can-maybe-call-techno are a few of the sonic elements found
within. Regular listeners will find Sepehr’s signature perspiratory
dance-floor vibe, but some songs also showcase a low-slung, cerebral
approach. Sepehr's unique sonic palette carves an interesting space in the
dance music world by harnessing the spirit of his cultural ancestors. The
artwork pays tribute to ‘70s Iranian pop and funk albums with bold Farsi
calligraphy and portraits by Sahra Jajarmikhayat. In relation to the music,
the album cover creates a dichotomy much like Throbbing Gristle's ’20 Funk

Places & Things is the single project of Manchester born & London
based Mike Checuti. Mike grew listening to a heavy mixture of horror &
film soundtracks an equal dose of the early electro via the legendary Spin
Inn records & then the hedonistic sounds of The Hacienda & the more
underground Thunderdome nightclub. Mike was encouraged to press ahead with
the project after a visit to Los Angeles & spending time in the studio
with Atticus Ross (Gone Girl & The Social Network soundtrack composer).
Treating Patient A is the first in a trilogy of releases by People Places
& Things each pulling from the above mentioned influences but each EP
having it's own variation whilst keeping the references points clearly
audible along with People Places & Things own take of these sounds at the
forefront. People Places & Things along with Gabe Guernsey of Factory
Floor have recently just composed the soundtrack for the latest film for the
forthcoming Adidas Spezial range which commemorates 30 years of Acid house.
Artwork for each 12" is designed by Andrew Jackson & each sleeve is

Haar. I hear the hills in it, I hear the sea in it, I hear whitewashed walls,
wind and drizzle, shards of sunlight on Scottish sand, I hear the spark and
click of a lighter, I hear you. When you left my life you took on a new name,
a borrowed name, a name paying homage to a legend in folk circles buried deep
in old songs and ancient bothy books. And that's you through and through -
the cryptic layers, the barely tangible stream of consciousness, the subtle
fragility of an idea teasingly explored, the suggestion of a hook, the
predictably unpredictable. Maybe a bloody genius but most definitely with
something to say, a perfectionist but never a polisher or one to dwell too
long on precious things. Am I talking about the music, Haar, or you To me
they are one in the same thing, the sea - you, the ghost-like memories of an
old fashioned Scotland - you, the Joyce-esque suggestion of a thousand things
without ever defining one - you. A rich tapestry from a strange and beautiful
mind. This isn't a vacuous collection of junk collected by some preening
magpie but something real, something built with love, craft and tirelessly
acquired skill. Referential yes, but only so as to pay respectful homage to
tradition and culture. A precise execution on proper machines with big hands

After one year of high energy
industrial and punk-leaning music, Kess Kill presents something slightly more
contemplative: the vinyl debut of the Swedish act Grand Mal x. The Solna
based duo started in 2010 and was first known from the cassette scene, which
was also where we stumbled across their work. Drawing from a long and wide
palette of influences — from Osho dynamic meditation and EU highways, to
artists like Suicide, Coil and Rune Lindblad — their music breathes an
ethereal yet catchy air, a difficult line to tread. The fact that one of the
members is active at the legendary experimental EMS Studios in Stockholm

the voice skipped intermittently, the recording sounded like an exercise in
Uncle Bill's scissors technique but in my defence the mic I was using was
hidden. I knew Jean was recording me, he'd asked for an interview after
finding my name in one of his black notebooks, Jean didn't know I was
recording him. He was tuning into fading echoes and when he thought the tape
machine was off he left an echo of his own. "I caused such scenes on the
way to and at kindergarten that first day my mother never bothered risking
damage to my nascent psyche by making me return. Consequently come first
grade my petulance had precluded me from the nursery school forged
friendships of my new classmates. It's why I've always been an observer. But
I've never been an archivist. I never wrote the intimate details down. If you
fix them on paper there's a danger of shared ownership. The black notebooks
contain coded references, the meaning once obvious now somewhat cryptic.

Introducing Paris-based
contemporary sculptor and music maker Erwan Sene joining the exponential
Unknown Precept roster. Gathering pieces thought of as little narratives for
his debut release, not without a bit French irony around the concept of work,
'I Heard You Laughing' wavers towards mechanical repetition and something
more outdated at times. Purposely slowing down the tempo to fit the apparent
redundancy of an industrial environment and its steadily running engines. An
eroded atmosphere of sorts, analogous to the smokestacks emanating from
factory chimneys. Accentuating the ambiguity of a wild thought which is hard
to grasp. Despite its machine-driven aspect, Sene primary questions the
difficulty to manage one's life stuck in a primitive mindset, making
intuitive associations in a grid pattern. Carbon copy music for the tangled

Milk present 'No Interruptions', a blazingly soulful return signalling the
release of their second album. Sometimes it takes a few bumps to find the
right direction, often it involves experience, guts and self-belief to trust
yourself and venture from one to find another. The Milk are a band that
believe with utter conviction that they've now found their way. Fuelled by a
rediscovery of the music and artists that originally inspired their

adormilado y desalmado por Azkuna para mayor solaz del turista y los
bolsillos de cuatro empresarios. Los 28 pertenecen al Bilbao más barrial, el
que no aparece en postales porque sus calles carecen de hoteles, museos y
restaurantes de diseño, ni falta que hace. Confluyen en Irola Irratia la
radio libre del barrio y comienzan a ensayar en Izarbeltz, una antigua
carnicería ocupada y convertida en ateneo autogestionado; literalmente una
segunda casa para el quinteto. 28 Escupitajos hacen punk. Sus primeras
canciones son aceleradas, muy aceleradas, versiones de Slaughter & The
Dogs, 999, Eddie & The Hot Rods, 4-Skins, Infa-Riot (vía MCD; la
original, ya lo intuyen, es de Girschool) o Rich Kids (convierten Cheap
Emotions en Chivato). 1977 como referencia punk-rock, una pizca de Oi!
clásico y velocidad hard-core. Todo ello cantado a dos voces. Con estos

four original compositions from four different respected artists: Ten Walls,
Justin Cholewski, Taran & Lomov, and Alex Schaufel. Ten Walls’ “Yhorm”
perfectly opens the compilation with its groovy beats, Italo-like arpeggiated
bass line and beautiful and deep harmonical synthesizers. “Yhorm” tells an
always evolving story full of vast atmospheric spaces. “Rush Hour” from
Justin Cholewski grabs the attention from the very first beats. Energetic,
driven by an arpeggiated bass line, full of acidic synths, “Rush Hour” is
designed for big Techno rooms delivering the rush at its finest. B-side starter

After years of searching for the
elusive sensation of heart-rending beauty, Avondlicht releases his debut
album on 3 April, 2020 on all digital platforms. The LP will be out on 8/4.
Hyperromance is the culmination of an emotional and geographical journey, as
Belgian producer Matthias Dziwak sought to find and examine idealised moments
of true romance within the less-than-romantic reality of existence. Having
already achieved a great deal with his initial run of EPs for labels like
[PIAS], Fog Mountain and Unit Delta Plus, Antwerp-based Dziwak became
obsessed with the concept of Hyperromance – “a moment or idea so heavily
romanticised that it seems impossible to be really experienced.” The
melancholic feeling it sparked in his heart set him off on a journey through
Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, via a month-long stay in Amsterdam and finally
to settling for six months in Portugal. Throughout this time he made field
recordings and began writing pieces that would feed into the finished album |
