After
a long wait we are happy to finally share the next release on Sleepless Musik
and welcome Canarian artist Moises to our family! A1. Circular: The title
track is a dancefloor bomb, bursting with groove. You'll find it aptly placed
on the A side, along with a remix from Sakro. The deep, rolling bassline of
Circular takes similar form to previous Moises releases, a fast pace dance
between low and high notes. Eery breakdowns signalled by spiralling synths
accentuate the mysterious melody that dominates the track, before rave like
chords creep to the forefront. Then with a cheeky hi-hat flick, the bass is
back. The energy emanating from this one is enough to have a crowd going wild
at peak-time.A2. Circular (Sakro Remix): The remix is a little more subtle,
yet equally as suited for late into the night. The percussion overtakes this
one with a deeper bassline. It becomes clouded with minimalistic growling and
an echoing vocal, injecting the dreary trip we've got quite used to hearing
in Sakro's productions.B1. Homecoming: Flip the record over and the
four-tracker becomes complete with two more of Moises' own productions, both
of which retain that signature groove |

Tim Wright is a musician,
composer and video artist based in York. He is perhaps best known as a
producer of unusual electronic dance music released under his own name and
the pseudonym Tube Jerk. His music has been released by some of the key
labels in the field including Tresor, Mute/Novamute, Sativae and GPR. Remix
credits range from scorn through Cristian Yogel to Laurent Garnier and
Goldfrapp. Tim also works for the Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara
as a composer and sound designer. his compositions for Teshigawara include
the original music for metamorphosis (2014), a commission for
Goteborgsoperans Danskompani, Sweden; darkness is hiding black horses (2013)
for the ballet de l'opera de paris, France; and compositions for
installations at the Yokohama Triennale 2008, the Shanghai Zendai museum of

DEXT Recordings has reached it's
landmark 10th release, and we now enter our next phase with this very special
2 track EP from a vital part of our label: Bodyjack.Aside from his
collaboration with Special Request at the end of last year, this is Chris's first
new music under his Bodyjack alias since the Summer of 2016 (his 'Cobra
Effect EP' for us). His time away has helped him refocus, and its clearly
paid off 'Nataraja' (Hindu for 'Lord Of The Dance') is one of those tracks we
can't actually describe, but it's Bodyjack on rare form. His signature quirky
percussion & synthwork is stripped down more than on his previous work,
but this is one works in so many situations, we can't wait to hear what you
think. On the flip, 'Tandava' (the name given to the dance of Nataraja!), is

Helder Russo is the youngest of
eleven, raised in Lisbon in a family from the island of Santiago, Cabo Verde.
He's a prolific music producer with a couple of heavy releases on Groovement
Recordings and as half of Gatupreto on TINK!. Russo's music is thought out
and solid, his reference list is long and diverse, citing Rhythm & Sound
in the same context as Miles Davis, Sade, the late great MJ, Boo Williams,
Carl Craig or Jay Dilla. The result is a soundtrack composed with care and
attention, detailed and rich though still powerful and present. The title
track, Church Music, presents a demanding exercise in joy and spiritual
ecstasy. An organic, syncopated groove that elegantly disposes the obvious
steady kick drum for a relentless organ chord that sets the moody tone for
what comes: sharp claps, cutting high hats, dense, dramatic pads and a bone
chilling key solo from record label's mate Daino. It's an ode to the
primordial tradition, the transcending unity one feels in the midst of a
gospel church |

A
collaboration between Aphex Twin (Richard D. James) and µ-Ziq (Mike
Paradinas), Mike & Rich - 'Expert Knob Twiddlers' was made back in 1994.
Richard edited the tracks into shape later in 1996 with his new Apple Mac
computer and it was released later that year on Rephlex, the label he
co-owned and which released the first two albums by µ-Ziq. This new reissued
version has been carefully cleaned up, re-edited and remastered from the
original DAT tapes, put into a more fitting order and, more excitingly, seven
new bonus tracks and alternative versions have also been added. The album was
recorded over a few days during the 1994 World Cup, back when Richard lived
in a big shared flat in Stoke Newington. Richard had tried to collaborate
with a few other likeminded artists but something clicked when Mike and Rich
worked together and the sessions have a unique feel, playful and at times
actually drunk. These are fun experiments in the spirit of lighthearted moog
pop and ripe 70s British TV themes, standing out from the po-faced
electronica of the time with a garish glee. The record was made on what is
now seen as pretty primitive gear - an Atari, Roland MKS-80, Memorymoog,
Roland R8 and a handful of samples on a Casio FZ-10M - but it's to their
credit that it resonates well with the hardware workouts coming out today.
There's a broadminded but sloppy funk to the record, even whistling, singing
and harpsichord in 'Reg' and wonky beat pile-ons in 'Jelly Fish'. There's
latin piano and wheezy drunken techno in 'Vodka', or the sleepy spaced out
ambience of 'Bu Bu Bu Ba' with its barely contained laughter which seems to
reflect the absurdity. The new versions and bonus tracks are an absolute
delight - from a trancier version of 'Vodka' to the wonky bounce of
'Portamento Gosh', The 3/4 dub of 'Waltz,' the banging door bass of' Brivert
and Muonds', the creepy seasick atmosphere of 'Clissold Bathroom' and
finishing with the strangely graceful and serious 'Organ Plodder'. A generous
and welcome return to the racks |

Hodge
follows releases on labels such as Livity Sound, Berceuse Heroique and Peach
Discs with his debut LP ‘Shadows In Blue’. After including a track on
Houndstooth’s 2018 comp ‘IDDK’ he delivers an album inspired by old prog rock
album covers, a new-found love of plants and gardening, and science fiction
literature. The work is awash in earthy psychedelia; tracks shimmer with the
sounds of birdsong, natural percussion and visions of a future in which
nature has taken back an artificial world. The abundance of natural
influences does not detract from Hodge’s ability to write solid dance floor
rhythms however. On the soaring lead track, ‘Ghost of Akina’, he performs
unspooling frenetic breaks from a dreamlike stance. Album served to music

Fabrizio Rat challenges 24/H
Records, elaborating “Hera”. His project creates a connection between Tempio
and his passion for Piano as an untuned piano resides in the Cultural Space.
After many attempts of restyling its fate was sealed to be disposed of.
Fabrizio Rat recorded self-played sequences on that piano and then he
reworked that samples in his own studio in Paris. The result is a mix of past
and future, as a metaphor of the space where the artist performed. In this
case, a reborn of music. With this samples, he created an 8 tracks EP called
“Hera”. 3 tracks will be released as digital exclusive and 5 will be printed
also on vinyl attended by an outstanding remix from Industrial Romantico.

music from dgoHn (John Cunnane) is always exciting, this LP especially so.
After a recent release on Astrophonica, a self released collection of tracks
in 2018 and 3 singles on Love Love since the inception of their partnership
in 2016, John comes back to Love Love with the big album. Conceived in the
Essex heartland, 'Undesignated Proximate' contains 12 all-killer mega fresh
cuts of the kind of boundlessly creative material that we have come to know
him for, marking the most comprehensive collection yet of dgoHn's music. With
a meddlesome level of experimentation and a knack for pumping out truly
futuristic rhythms, John's ideas are utterly compelling, effortlessly
peddling some of the most refreshing sounds to be found in the drum and bass
/ drumfunk / jungle worlds over a quarter of a century since the birth of the
style. Not constrained by genre however his resolute chops, rich sound worlds
and melodic structures form very real pieces of music, full of character and
feeling. The production here is tighter than ever and while the tracks are
technically adept, they drip in pure personality and raw energy. These are
tracks made with a brain and a heart. Likenesses to great Jazz drummers are
just as appropriate to his music as they are his contemporaries in braindance
or drum and bass and his noisier influences often bleed through.
'Stachybotrys' sees dgoHn's drums at their most frantic and tracks like this,
as well as 'Invisible Sandwich' and 'Ninnyhammer' are rinsers of the highest
calibre |

Mike
Dierickx's Push guise is a world-renowned name in the many facets of dance
music, particularly within the trance genre. Since 1994 this guy has been
putting out top quality sounds, from Acid Hysteria to Da Story. 1998 was the
breakthrough year in many respects, it was the year that Universal Nation was
born, the rest is history. Surprisingly - for an artist who had been around
for a long time - his first album didn't arrive until 2000. The first album
from Push was From Beyond, this one was full of already established hits as
well as new material from the trance maestro himself. The mighty Universal
Nation, Travelogue, Strange World, The Legacy and more. So, we’ve decided to

Part
inspired by the prose of his favourite author James Baldwin, South Brooklyn's
Korre 's experience of being a black man in America forms an integral part of
his work, even if it's largely instrumental. "I always make sure my
music has elements of pain, beauty, and darkness," says Korre in his
bio. That vibe is certainly felt across his stunning debut EP for Utrecht's
030303 Records. 'End of Time' is a deep, dystopian piece of club music, as
much suited for the floor as it is for the introverted mind. With virtually
no intro, the listener gets sucked into the intenseness of the track right
away. 'Crimson' is equally dark, filled with spooky vocal snippets and washed
out acid sounds. 'Don't Wanna Wait' is a heartfelt ambient spacer, not unlike
the eeriest work of Burial. 'Silver Exo' then is probably the best track on
the record even if it's hard to pick a favourite. Korr? slowly brings the
dancefloor back with this beautifully crafted builder, again filled with
abstract vocal snippets. Closing this beast of a debut record is 'St Blues',
consisting of a male monologue, captivating droney melodies and acid bubbles
in the background |
