Out of the ashes of Raceway
Recordings and Racetrax, rises the new label from Sterling Moss - Rebeltek.
With well over 100 tracks out on vinyl, Sterling decided it was time to start

Coast Vibes' consists of Roy Ayers's debut recording session and it can be
easily seen as the purest Jazz statement of his long career. Recorded in 1963
and still far from his latter-day Funk-Fusion output, 'West Coast Vibes' is

South
London blues/rock band Killing Floor was formed in the late 1960s with lead
singer and harmonica player Bill Thorndycraft, guitarist Mike Clarke, bassist
Stuart McDonald, pianist Lou Martin and percussionist Bas Smith, with Muddy
Waters their foremost inspiration. After an eponymous debut album produced by
former music writer John Edward, issued by the independent Spark label (and
licensed to Sire in the US), Killing Floor was signed by Larry Page, who
placed follow-up LP Out Of Uranus on Penny Farthing, again with Edward in the
producer's chair. In contrast to the debut LP, Out Of Uranus had heavy acid
rock and psychedelic leanings, as heard on the anti-religion title track and
songs like "Acid Bean," though "Where Nobody Ever Goes"
was more in standard blues-rock mode. As was the case with several other Page
projects from the period, poor album sales made the release a true rarity,
its scarcity keeping it in high demand today. Limited RSD press with original

Percussive
titan Tito Puente brought various forms of Latin rhythm into the
consciousness of mainstream America and western Europe through a career that
lasted over half a century, introducing enthralling Latin styles to the
broader public from the early 1950s. His 1956 masterpiece 'El Rey del timbale
aux percussions' features an all-stars line-up consisting in Mongo
Santamaria, Wilie Bobo,. Cuban-born congero Carlos "Patato" Valdes
(who had already recorded with Kenny Dorham for Blue Note and who was soon to
record with Art Blakey) and Miami-born acoustic bassist Bobby Rodriguez (who
had played with Dizzy Gillespie and Noro Morales) and Tito himself. The end
result was simply astounding, a powerhouse of percussive jams delivered Latin
style. It would spawn several copycat successors, including Puente's own Top
Percussion, but nothing really tops the invigorating, spontaneous feeling
captured on 'Puente In Percussion'. A dramatic, action-packed set from start
to finish, the beauty of the collaboration is ably reflected on "The Big
Four" and "Congo Beat"< "Tito And Mongo On
Timbales" is a percussive duel and "Swinging The Mambo"
betrays the influence of jazz on the percussive styles |

Trixie
Whitley presents 'Lacuna re-imagined'. She reworked six tracks from her
'Lacuna' album from 2019. Trixie recorded new versions and invited three
talented musicians to her home studio in Brooklyn to provide strings and horn
arrangements. Multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie (who previously collaborated
with Arcade Fire, David Byrne and Run The Jewels) took care of the wind
section, Emily Wells and Topu Lyo recorded the strings. The EP "Lacuna
re-imagined" will be released on all digital platforms and limited
edition vinyl November 13. All profits made from these recordings will go
directly to The Callen-Lorde (clinic's health care and activism work), as
Trixie explains in the letter below. A letter from Trixie: For this Lacuna
re-imagined project I decided to commit to just a few key ingredients,
stripping the production away in service of finding out what I was left to
work with. I committed to the following: all tracks had to be based on a full
live one take recorded in my kitchen, with no edits made to the take. Leaving
room for all the raw imperfections, I have a general rule of 3 takes for any
recorded live performance, and I willfully chose to perform the bulk of these
without a click |

As Morganistic, Luke Slater only
released a handful of cuts-but among those was the album Fluids Amniotic,
still widely praised today as a benchmark techno long-player. Regularly
featuring in the sets of Hood and Mills, Morganistic's dark, rumbling minimalism

The
evolution of Andreas Tilliander's moniker TM404 has reached its third stage.
The first TM404 album was a heavily self-restricted concept album, live
recorded with classic Roland machines. The subsequent album had a more
playful vibe, shaped by Tilliander's extensive live touring. This third TM404
album on Kontra-Musik simply tells the story of what he's been up to since.
The third part of a musical diary, initiated in 2013. The TM404 venture might
have started out as a dreamy acid dub project, more suited for the chill-out
than the main floor. But by popular demand Tillander found himself touring
big clubs around the globe and the TM404 sound adapted organically. As a
result, the album features tracks like Vactro and Rymdeko: fast paced acidic
techno tracks in the same vein as classic Plus 8 releases, but with more
space echo. Much more. But never fear, fans of the classic warm and bubbling
TM404 sound. You'll certainly get yours as well. A substantial portion of
this album was recorded in a studio flat in Berlin as part of an artist
residency. For obvious reasons, Tilliander could only bring a small portion
of his studio gear to this German sanctuary. As a consequence, this album has
a more stripped down vibe than its predecessors, which creates more space for
Tilliander's glowing melodies. The last track on the album, a loving homage
to Kontra-Musik's label boss, is a sublime example. And for the Instagram
generation, here's the short version: The album is called Syra. That

Bonzai
Compilation – Chapter One was our very first curation from 1993. In a
pioneering move, the original Chapter One would become the very first CD
compilation to bring the sound of the Belgian underground outside of the club
and into your everyday life. In less than one year, Bonzai Records had
stamped its mark on the scene and, laden with tracks, the logical thing to do
was to get those tracks into the hands of dedicated ravers across Belgium,
Europe and the world. Chapter One marked the beginning of a string of
compilations which featured full-length cuts from a burgeoning catalogue.
Originally with 14 tracks including … Animals, Short Circuit, Soushkin,
Plasma, El Punto Final, Fantasy, E-Mission and more found their way to the
CD, but it was never released on vinyl before. We have not only remastered
& repackaged this compilation for CD, but also gave it a new lease of
life on freshly pressed wax, a first for one of our original compilations.
This gatefold sleeve 2 x 12” black vinyl limited edition features a selection
of 13 tracks taken from the newly remastered 2CD pack, and includes tracks

Mark Boombastik is a human
beatbox with advanced technics. Early in his career, he added guitar effects
and bass synths to his live sets to push his vocal art to a new level. Mark
Boombastik is mostly known for his astonishing crossover pop-song "Putzen"
which was licensed for german TV shows among other crazy things. Through this
novelty hit he caught the attention of the Berlin record label Shitkatapult
for which he produced the long-player "Adios Berlin" together with
Eduardo Delgado-Lopez. Lesser known but extremely sought after are his
releases on Meeuw Muzak and Gagarin Records. With Gagarin Records chairman
Felix Kubin he did countless live and studio collaborations. After a brief
release-hiatus, this 7" on Sozialistischer Plattenbau presents two
recent tracks. The record comes in a cover that was designed by Hamburg
artist Thomas Baldischwyler and printed in 3 punky color-layers with a
middle-aged Riso printer on recycled paper |

"Hiss" is nothing if not cinematic: a queasy melody circling in a

says the tune was created after “re-listening to my very first couple of

Carl
Finlow has been one of the most singular voices in electro for over two
decades. From the records he makes under his given name to his numerous
collaborations and alternative monikers, Finlow's music is suffused with
playfulness and imagination. Silicon Scally is the most prolific of Finlow's
alias projects, and on Dormant, the third Silicon Scally release for
Sheffield's Central Processing Unit, Finlow constructs four pieces of
thrillingly futuristic broken-beat electro. From the opening cut 'V Electro'
to Dormant's closing title-track, Finlow's production is incredibly detailed
here. These tracks never stand still, their little cells of synth and
percussion always evolving. When combined with some stomping drum
programming, the final result is an EP which has that rare balance of endless
danceability and genuinely innovative production. It's the sound of a master
creator letting loose while also managing to keep everything in the pocket, a
marvel of moving parts. Dormant's tone is set from the first booming beats of
'V Electro'. The track's dense mesh of dystopian synth nodules will have you
thinking of the nastiest, scuzziest Unit Moebius tune |

thing from the musical underground is Reggae music from Jamaica, the USA or
the UK, where most of the acts had musicians of Caribbean descent. Reggae had

relatively poor and so-called "Third World“ country proved to spawn
Reggae acts of the highest quality, literally nobody dared to look further

over the 1970s Afro Beat sound from countries like Zambia or Nigeria and then

legendary tune "Play On Mr. Music" from a documentary film
"Roots Rock Reggae" comes alive. This compilation celebrates some
uncommon gems from the greatest golden years of the Black Ark Studio and Lee
Perry's works. “Play On Mr Music” by the Upsetter Revue featuring The
Heptones, The Congos and Junior Murvin, had long been the Holy Grail for
roots reggae connoisseurs, until Rocka Shacka issued it on a 10-inch EP. The
result of an impromptu studio jam (captured on celluloid for Jeremy Marre’s
Roots Rock Reggae documentary in May 1977), the track celebrates the
undeniable pull of Perry’s musical artistry, with both musicians and
onlookers enhanced by the uplifting qualities of a marijuana spliff.
"Milte Hi Ankhen" by Sam Carty is a full vocal cut to the oriental
dub known as "Bird In Hand" which was included the dub masterpiece
"Return Of The Super Ape". You can also enjoy the unreleased dub
mix of the deep rasta tune "Rejoice Jah Jah Children" by The
Silvertones, also the unreleased take of Carlton Jackson's big tune
"History", an irie roots rock version of Curtis Mayfield

Dimensions Recordings are very
proud to welcome the legendary Charles Webster with the first track from his
first major solo album in two decades, 'Decision Time'. This first single
'The Spell' also features a remix from Burial and the vocals of Ingrid Chavez.
Operating in house music since the mid '80s, Charles Webster is revered as
something like the producer's producer, spoken about in the same breath as
Larry Heard or Ron Trent amongst the DJ cognoscenti, releasing music over the
years under 30 different pseudonyms with over 500 remixes. After moving to
San Francisco in the late nineties, he created an album under the alias
Presence entitled 'All Systems Gone'. The "pillowy" sound design of
this classic is cited as a key influence on the music of Burial. For this
track, Burial has paid a further tribute, contributing a rare remix,
additionally to a dub mix from Charles. This track also includes the words of
Prince muse Ingrid Chavez. who famously wrote the spoken word poetry in
Madonna's 'Justify My Love' |

Having played guitar with the
likes of Iggy Pop, Arno and Alain Bashung, to name but a few, Geoffrey
Burton's guitar wizardry is set firm in his love for minimalism, fragmented
chords, and off-kilter melodies. On 'Me Ta Podia' (Greek for By Foot), Burton
explores his instrument and connects it to his inner world, easily managing
to surpass merely showing off skills. Burton creates an atmosphere that is
uniquely his own, at times making his guitar sound like anything but a
guitar. Save for two tracks, 'Kuhlmannlaan 8" and 'Bababachable', 'Me Ta
podia' was recorded live without any overdubs. This way of working is
becoming a staple in the Gong Ear label philosophy, steering their artists

Fitting perfectly into the label’s roster, as the 2018 predecessor Mera, this
is three tracks of tricky, leftfield dance music that will appeal to the more
adventurous electronic music aficionados. Lead track Tia is a brooding epic,
unfolding in unexpected ways as the rougher edges give way to dreamy pads and
a tight, loopy groove keeps things in motion. Bigna shares a similar
aesthetic - an intricate percussive groove provides the foundation for some
minimalistic synth explorations and textures. Exclusively on the vinyl
release is Nea - artfully balancing dancefloor prowess with esoteric

We present to you our twelfth
release on 7” format, a collaboration between Ojah, Chazbo & Yuuri
Bamboo. The A side contains the track “Resilience”, a melodica version over a
90’s inspired steppers riddim. The first verse is played by UK Dub legend Chazbo,
while the second verse is played by Japanese melodica player Yuuri Bamboo,
bringing to the table two unique and different yet complementary melodica
styles. On the B side we find a hypnotic and adventurous stripped-down dub
version, reminiscent of those early morning dubs at a Shaka session, mixed
live in analog by Ojah at his studio. Limited edition of 350 copies,
hand-stamped and hand-numbered, served in a thick custom reversed kraftliner
sleeve. Produced by Ojah, recorded at Alchemy Dubs Studio, London. Melodica
by Chazbo & Yuuri Bamboo, recorded at Roots Temple Studio, Japan. Mixed

DANDANA
is a musical collective with musicians from the Netherlands, Senegal and The
Gambia with members Bas Ackermann, Ebou Gaye Mada, Filly Dioma, Jackson
Loman, Joop de Graaf and Modou Joof. Their sound pays tribute to traditional
West African rhythm and grooves, and the love for ambient and synthesizers.
On this album, they combine spiritual griot music, traditional instruments
from Senegal and The Gambia such as the sabar, xalam and balafon, percussion,
electronic drum pads and a range of vintage synthesizers. Inspiration is
drawn from West African psychedelic mandingue pioneers Guelewar, Ifang Bondi
& Touré Kunda and the synth-driven vibes of bands like Air & Tame
Impala. Most of the album was recorded in The Gambia and Senegal in 2019. In
these urgent times of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement it becomes
clear that we have to free ourselves from the current system. 'Free The
System!' is about the gap between the older and the younger generation. The
old system can’t easily deal with young or new ideas. The system needs to be
changed, we have to free ourselves from it |

has been remastered and edited for maximum impact and its original
incarnation has been doing damage to dancefloors over the globe for the last

Moderat
are Modeselektor and Apparat. Moderat's formation began back in 2002 when
Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (aka
Modeselektor) recorded an EP for the record label BPitch Control. The making
of this release was incredibly exhausting for the three of them, and at the
last minute they renamed the EP "Auf Kosten der Gesundheit" (which
translates to "At The Cost Of Health"). When it came time to begin
working on an album, Moderat suddenly broke up. A short time later both
Modeselektor and Apparat simultaneously worked on their own full-length
albums -- Modeselektor's debut, Hello Mom!, and Apparat's collaboration with
Ellen Allien, Orchestra of Bubbles. Each went on to become successful
releases and were followed by two career-defining albums for the individual
acts. Additionally, since their debut releases, both acts have performed over
1,000 shows at nearly every point of the globe. Modeselektor's sophomore
album in 2007, Happy Birthday!, set a milestone in German music history
including musicians such as Puppetmastaz, Maximo Park and Thom Yorke. Amongst
a slew of remixes for the likes of Thom Yorke and Björk, Modeslektor also
went on to tour with Radiohead across Japan in 2008. Apparat, on the other
hand, moved forward with his album Walls in 2007, taking a musical path that
was more band-oriented and kept him on tour for several years running. It was
a twist of fate that brought about Modeselektor and Apparat's reunion in the
spring of 2008 |

April 20, 2009. Perhaps the secret of Modeselektor's and Apparat's
collaboration lies in the fact that they never even tried to get close to one
another. Modeselektor's thundering bass rumbles in the cellar, Apparat's
sensitive and subtle melodies float high in the eaves. The fact that what one
assumes to be incompatible actually communicates, is what makes Moderat so
unique. Moderat is not just a studio project: with a set of visuals created
for these concerts by Pfadfinderei, they toured all five continents and will
do again immediately after the release of the new album. 4 years after the
debut album Modeselektor and Apparat have come together once again: more
mature, but not worldly-wise, wiser but not unquestioning, more experienced
