Here comes the second chapter of
our Pattern Series. Oscar Mulero delivers three tracks of precise techno,
deep and elaborated. "Balance and Acceleration" runs at medium
tempos with a scientific sequence as absolute protagonist, spiced with shuffled
hi hats, subtle kick drum and a linear but evolving structure.
"Pain" has a more liquid approach in the beginning, low-pass
filtered bass, bright percussions and a subterranean sequence that grows
along white-noise lines in a constantly changing arrangement.
"Kinesthetic Science" goes through similar parameters: flanged
sequences, filtered drums and an overall electric feeling. Three slices of
futuristic techno on a superb package and limited touchable units |

has started in 2018 and after several gigs and episodes of the podcasts
series at last we arrived to kick off our dream project: the music label!
There was no question who would be on our first release, because we have been
following their music since the beginning and we had a banger nights and
great times with both of them at LARM and in Budapest. These awesome
producers to whom we thank BVR001 are Niki Istrefi and Draugr! Niki Istrefi
is a rare precious star in the Danish techno scene, everyone can recognize
his music in the first minute, this mindfulness, fast, harsh and tight sound
with the essential melodies of melancholia. Niki is pretty determinant in
BRVTAL's life, because we noticed him since his first release and it was
obvious that we invited him to our first LARM's event! Worldspawn gives the
first push on his side of the vinyl. This catatonic sound is the enter to the
darkness, what we can accept from the whole release. Blood Run is another
step, much faster, much harder with an iconic spooky melody that will haunt
us through our nightmares. But we don't have to be afraid of Draugr either,
he isn't joking at all |

There's probably no finer way for
Cultivated Electronics to launch their 2021 schedule than with a new release
by DMX Krew with his first solo EP outing on the label, having previously
appeared for a remix of J.T.C's 'In Transit' (2014) and as MMT-8 (2016) - a
collaborative project with CE's label head, Sync 24. Edward Upton has given
us over 25 years of sonic wizardry with numerous highly regarded releases,
not only as DMX Krew, but also a myriad of other aliases over almost as many
labels, including the mighty Rephlex, as well as his own Breakin' Records and
Fresh Up. On 'Overseer' he delivers four vivid and stimulating analogue cuts
that are full of character, delivering high-end electro funk and glittering

Repress on classic swedish
7" originally released via Röj records in 1985. Protes Bengt was a blast
off hardcore project by Âke from Mob 47 and Per Thunell from Filthy
Christians and was basically Mob 47 with Per on vocals. The band was mainly
formed to break some guys who did a tape with loads of songs. Protes Bengt
never rehearsed but made two recordings. The first recording contains 74
"songs" of which 32 were released as this "In Bengt We
Trust" EP. Most of the lyrics are really stupid but some have serious
contents. The second recording was a 12-track demo called "Bengt e
sänkt", the style had change to more one beat hardcore like Heresy,

series with excellent house music on board and animated artwork. This time,
on both sides of the record, a collective of musicians from Argentina, Chile
and the Netherlands gathered, whose tracks take us on a journey through the
universe. This fascinating journey begins the track "SpaceFunk" of

are a perfect showcase for the eclectic blues guitarist and singer known as
Snook Eaglin. Snook's ability to play a wide range of songs in different

Spanning the divide between
backwoods swamp rock and US psychedelia, Magic evolved from Lansing,
Michigan-based band, Next Exit, which singer/songwriter Duane King and his
bassist brother Nick joined in 1968. The following year the group became
Magic and things stepped up a gear with the introduction of lead guitarist
Joey Murcia, a Miami native that was a session player for TK Records. The
band moved to Miami and became the first white act on TK, their debut album
released on their own Armadillo label. Returning to Michigan in 1970, Motown
producer Scott Regan brought them onto the Rare Earth subsidiary for this
excellent self/titled LP, with none other than Stevie Wonder playing piano on
three tracks |

Rone's
latest album "Room With A View" get the remix treatment by the
cream of contemporary electronic music producers. Including remixes by Maceo
Plex, Loraine James, Mathew Jonson, Ulrich Schnauß, Dj Lostboi, Kmru and
Plaid. "Room With A View", Rone's fifth studio album, saw Erwan
Castex return to his musical roots and the set-up of his early albums: purely
electronic, conceived without any musical collaborators in a voluntary
artistic isolation predating the 2020 era of social distancing. Rone, locked
into a studio with only his instruments for company, gazed through a window
at the outside world, pondering the difficulties humankind had maneuvered
itself into: climate change, post-truth politics, the impending collapse of
global economic systems. In face of collapsology, what remains but hope?
Speaking about one of the key tracks on "Room With A View",
"Esperanza", Rone called it an ode to those that keep fighting the
good fight, those that have hope and refuse to give up. For "Views of a
Room",Rone is now joined by some of those friends from around the globe.

Italian
film composer Piero Umiliani enjoyed a long and illustrious career, creating
nearly 200 film soundtracks, along with 40 music library LPs and some 35
television themes. Born in Florence in 1926, he was first recognized
internationally for his work on the soundtrack of 1958 crime caper Soliti
Ignoti' (AKA Big Deal on Madonna Street, Persons Unknown or Le Pigeon), which
featured noted jazz trumpeter, Chet Baker-the first time, in fact, that jazz
music had been used for an Italian comedy feature. Umiliani teamed with Baker
again in 1961, along with Croatian-American jazz singer Helen Merrill, for
the soundtrack of "Smog", a drama about an Italian lawyer's
unintended escapades in Los Angeles, and his work was later featured on
American and British television shows, including The Muppets, the Benny Hill
Show and the Red Skelton Show. Il Paradiso dell'Uomo (AKA Man's Paradise),
subtitled Forbidden Japan,' was a little-known documentary released in 1963
focusing on the roles assigned to women in the country, from the traditional
pearl-fishing divers of the coast and urban factory workers to traditional
dancers and the ambiguous world of geisha and striptease. This
impossibly-rare soundtrack mixes eastern and western musical elements, veering
from classical tropes to swing jazz, with Chinese singer Mei Lang Chang on a
couple of tracks and singer & composer&musicologist Francesco Potenza
leading the chorus on another |

We
present to you our last release of this bizarre year, thirteenth release on
7” format, a new collaboration between Ojah and Nik Torp, keyboard player
from The Specials. The A side contains the track “Notting Hill”, a tribute to
the famous carnival (greatly missed this year) featuring sounds of the
vintage and rare Yamaha SK-20 organ played by Nik over a riddim formed by
80’s & 90’s synths and drum machines. Underlying the whole riddim is the
recording of a baby’s heartbeat in the womb. On the B side we find a dub
version as is customary, sparse and full of fx, reminiscent of those open air
dub sessions at Notting Hill Carnival, mixed live by Ojah on his analog
console. Limited edition of 350 copies, hand-stamped and hand-numbered,
served in a thick custom reversed kraftliner sleeve. Produced by Ojah,
recorded at Alchemy Dubs Studio, London. Organ by Nik Torp, recorded at
Eastcote Studio 4, London. Mixed & mastered by Oscar Pablos “Ojah"

Russo follows up summery sizzler She Is On Fire with his full debut vinyl 12'
for MOM. The Valencia based DJ and producer presents a stylish four track EP.
It is entitled Travelling Around Zambia and features rhythms and beats
inspired by Africa. Russo has been an active DJ since he was 17, with DJ
residencies in Valencia and the surrounding region, as well as frequent trips
to the Balearic Islands. Due to this experience, Russo knows what works on
the dancefloor. Therefore it is no surprise that all four tracks on this EP
are built for club play. However, the fun rhythms and ear catching grooves
also make them suited to other occasions. Lio is a powerful and uplifting
opener. It features steady textured beats, a stylish keyed groove and rising
strings. Dubby is a relentless follow-up. Exploding chords and a live bass
take centre stage over not stopping beats. Rosas is a funky number for the
dancefloor. Textured percussion and powerful synths work the groove here
alongside looped vocal fragments. Poble finishes off the EP with a vocal
winner. Call and response sung vocals are laid over a powerful bassline and

Nadia
Khan returns on Scissor and Thread for another sublime mini LP, Port Ana.
Based in North Carolina, Khan first drew a lot of attention via a cassette
release on Where To Now? Records in 2015. Her sophomore statement was the
beautiful In Gleam released in 2018 on Francis Harris’ Brooklyn-based label,
which set the tone for these five tracks of meditative music. The title track
Port Ana opens the journey - a gentle, droning soundscape with effortlessly
bewitching glints of melody. Conversation follows on, drawing on loops and
textures to create the background for a deep, pulsing kick drum. The sounds
shift and evolve, leaving a hazy sense of movement to drift away to. Next up
is Objects In Form which presents a fragile chord progression that barely holds
itself together, surrounded by shifting pads and swathes of reverb. Rain
Again is presented here in two versions. The original combines ethereal
sounds, weightless and adrift, while the Lawrence remix firmly grounds the
track with a hypnotic, deep groove. The Dial boss provides another remix for
the digital release that further plays with the textures of the original to
create something that works both for an open minded dancefloor and as a home
listening experience |

Patrick Mason and Rekids boss
Matt Edwards return for their second appearance as SRVD with two cuts

recruit Tale of Us for the second the second edition of their
quarterly-century celebrations.With the first release in this series
occupying #1 status for 6 weeks last summer, Renaissance are back with the
second instalment of their 25th Anniversary 'The Remix Collection' project.
For the follow-up to Solomun's immense reworking of Age Of Love, Renaissance
have bagged more Techno royalty in the shape of Italian duo Tale Of Us, to
take on the huge task of remixing another iconic 90's classic.The track in
question is the legendary 'Café Del Mar' by the 90's trance project, Energy
52. Much alike the previous remix by Solomun, it seems Tale Of Us also have
their work cut out for them, as this track has had no shortage of remixes
over the years. However, the popularity of 'Café Del Mar' is not simply
reflected through its remix roster. Named after the iconic bar at the heart
of the Ibiza clubbing scene, it was the soundtrack to the rave-culture movie,
'Human Traffic' in 1999. In addition to this 'Café Del Mar' later went on to
be voted #1 in MixMag's 2001 '500 Best Tracks Ever' list |

Bertil Svensson: co-founder of the legendary Börft Records, member of arch
techno-primitivists Frak, the man responsible for Villa Abo and all-round
underground don active in the field of machine music since 1987! Whilst Jan's
output will always conjure comparisons to Techno with a capital T, he has
(and continues to) plough a singular and peculiar path in the realm of
electronic music. For the Glasgow-based Full Dose, he presents his first ever
solo 12' under the name of J.B.S: a four tracker of sluggish, minimal funk
that bears the hallmarks of his most classic work as Villa Abo, and adds
dashes of the brutal grit that his Studio SS project is infamous for. If
there's any sort of recurring theme in Svensson's work, it's playfulness and
humour, a particular Scandinavian form of sonic banter that cuts right
through the po-faced, black-clad heteronomy of much of today's electronic
landscape. The music on this record, with it's odd blend of stripped-back
synth pop and brutish dungeon funk evokes exactly that: a body of work that
doesn't even seem capable of taking itself too seriously, yet evades anything
resembling a recognisable piss take |

Brandon Spivey & Richie
Anderson have been producing incredible music since 1993 when they released
under the name "Prole Sythesis" on Alien Reign records. In 1994
they put out a series of highly sought after picture discs on the UK label Kill
Out Recordings under the name A'Simetric. They went on to produce releases on
USA labels Drop Bass Network & Six Sixty Six records out of Milwaukee!
These tracks are a mixture of new and old tracks. The original 90's tracks
recovered from old DATs! This release has some seriously special artwork by
Mattthieu Bourel aka EK Dojo. He's had work commissioned by the New York
Times, The Guardian, Washington Post, Esquire, New Scientist, Vice Managzine
and many more. He has also done album covers for Venetian Snares, Carl Craig
& Somatic Responses in the past. Also comes with a free download code for

Tibi
Dabo is the latest project from Barcelona born DJ and producer Max Guardans.
Following on from last year’s La Dorada on Rebellion, he brings his enigmatic
sonic exploration to Crosstown this May. The EP opens up with the gentle yet
thudding bass of Her Moon. The track is ten minutes of pure euphoria.
Mesmerising cosmic synths travel towards the first breakdown where the track
enters a darker phase before they weave their way back in as a 90s inspired
piano topline joins proceedings. It’s All Behind takes the EP on a deeper
trip with an emotive, soulful, vocal and shimmering melodies. Closing the EP,
Nowhere Beach deploys a rapid beat with industrial hints and a rolling
bassline, whilst keeping the cosmic feel of its predecessors. A warm
synthline uplifts in the breakdown. The alias of Max Guardans, Tibi Dabo is
also the name of a mountain that overlooks Guardans’ hometown of Barcelona.
Under this alias the young DJ and producer seeks to explore and experiment
with a wide and varied sonic soundscape. His first EP, 2017’s Ende, was
signed to Sasha’s highly acclaimed label, Last Night On Earth |

Brooklyn-based
queer nightlife luminary Jasmine Infiniti self-released her debut album,
BXTCH SLÄP, in March 2020. Dark Entries steps forward to present the album
remastered and on double vinyl. Over the thirteen disruptive club cuts of
BXTCH SLÄP, Jasmine conjures occult rave incantations with sub-tectonic bass
and seductive harmonies. Audaciously championing R&B, vogue, and hip-hop
sounds, Jasmine Infiniti’s latest collection of techno-hybrid dance tunes is
built for the dancefloors of underground nightlife. While SiS, her debut EP,
was an ode to queer solidarity, community, and sisterhood, BXTCH SLÄP refines
the art of personal myth-building. It is an unflinching and uncompromising
album, but it also boasts surprising range, moving briskly between ethereal
hardcore house (“HOTT”), anxious dark electro (“SPOOKED”), and certifiable
techno bangers (“YES, SIR”, “WELLFAIR”). Meanwhile album standout “<3”
hovers just above 100 BPM, a defiant statement of euphoric sensuality that’s
no less gripping for its dramatic deceleration. Closing number “SHONUFF”
clocks in at ten and half minutes, but not a second of this acid-laced
adrenaline rush feels wasted. BXTCH SLÄP might be suited for the high-impact
dancefloor, but this music takes on a new life in the moments we spend
between the parties, alone and full of desire. BXTCH SLÄP was mastered by
George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The sleeve features photography from
Guerrilla Davis and hand drawn Infiniti logo designed by Eloise Leigh with a
3-D chrome effect by Sebastian Ortega. Each copy includes a 3-D chrome
die-cut sticker. The Queen of Hell is back and her powers are stronger than

Ahead of the Meakusma Festival
2019 Don't DJ and NWAQ did an artist residency developing new music together
from scratch. Their resulting performance at the festival was a mesmerising
descent into the artistic perspectives of two singular artists active in
off-kilter club music.Some of the eight tracks on this record were recorded
live at the festival while others were recorded during the residency. All
dwell in distorted and eccentric bliss and play around with rhythmic
arrhythmic and post-rhythmic tension. There is happiness in dystopia although
the subtle yet intense layering in the music hints at undercurrents that are
far from bright. The joyousness of this record lies in the notable excitement
Don't DJ and NWAQ experience fusing their modi operandi coming up with a
music that shines and distorts. As massive blocks of sound alternate with
subtler disorienting parts repetitive vocals create an air of disparate

With no festivals happening,
Noisia have released "Outer Edges - Live" - a recording of their AV
performance and album. Now available on CD, digital audio and poster.
"This was the most ambitious thing we ever did together: creating an audiovisual
show around our own album, "Outer Edges". It meant building an
audiovisual instrument first (with Roy yfxlab, Merijn Kijkbuiskinderen and
Manuel deepred.tv) and then a show to perform on that instrument. Everything
synced, but controlled live, to create one cohesive experience. It was a lot
of work, and a lot of stress - especially when the actual album leaked and we
found out minutes before going on stage to perform it for the first time -
but it is something we are still very proud of. The visuals were all custom
made, a lot of them by Nik himself who VJ'd during the set, Thijs brought a
part of his modular setup to jam on stage, and Martijn controlled the flow of
the songs through Ableton. It felt like the ultimate way to perform our
