slice of warm emotive techno with melodically rich sounds, much in the vein

with 2 new productions which heal back to a particularly strong mid 90s
period influenced by Detroit's blossoming second wave of producers, yet
composed with a very peculiar writing style and distinctive depth: the Nuron
touch! On the flip, highly experienced producer Kirk Degiorgio applies his As
One remix skills to "La Source" from Nuron's debut on De:tuned. Be
prepared for a classical journey of pure bliss! The impeccable Ian Anderson

Medical
Records presents the 4th pressing of their second release (MR-002)! This
Mini-LP was originally released on Materiali Sonori in 1984 in Italy and is
long out of print. The 1st pressing on Medical was released in 2010 and is
also now long out of print. Alexander Robotnick (aka Maurizio Dami) is an
Italian electronic musician. He made his debut on the Italian music scene as
the founding member of Avida, a dance-cabaret band featuring Daniele
Trambusti and Stefano Fuoch. in 1983 he attained international popularity
with his track "Probl?mes d'amour", published first by the Italian
label Materiali Sonori and then by Sire-Wea. "Probl?mes d'amour"
went on to become a "cult track" of the disco scene. It became
quite an import hit in America's underground club scene, and sparked the
mini-LP "Ce N'est Qu'un D?but" that same year (originally released
on Materiali Sonori in 1984 (Italy). It consists of 6 captivating tracks
including the hit "Probl?mes d'amour" as well as the track
"Dance boy dance" which has appeared on other cult disco
compilations. "Ce N'est Qu'un D?but" will appeal to lovers of Italo
disco, early new wave, and minimal pop |

five track lost album by five piece band No Defences. The album was recorded
at Southern Studios with Pete Wright producing, but it was never completed.

rock and hip hop in between, the sound of Rio de Janeiro, while continually
evolving, has always held an unnameable quality which reflects the magic and
mystique of the city itself. Multi-instrumentalist and arranger Antonio Neves
is the city’s newest trailblazer: the enfant-terrible of Rio’s music scene,
leading a vital and diverse constellation of both emerging and well-known
artists advancing the city’s musical legacy. “It all started one sleepless
night, after watching a Quincy Jones documentary”. Inspired by the legendary
music magnate, Neves began writing a list of artists residing in Rio de
Janeiro “people that I admire, that I consider geniuses of their instruments,
who share with me affinities, anxieties and projects.” The list included some
of Brazil’s most revered living musicians who Neves has worked with in recent
years: Hamilton de Holanda, Leo Gandelman and Dorival Caymmi. Neves also
called on some of Brazil's most exciting emerging talents including Alice
Cayymii and Ana Frango Eletrico. A Pegada Agora É Essa (The Sway Now) is

A monster on its own
'Ceremony-Buddha Meet Rock' still is one of the most enigmatic record coming
out of the early seventies Japanese underground. Composers Yusuke Hoguchi and
Naoki Tachikawa are the main conspirators here. The album is clearly informed
by the flower power counterculture, is full-on mysticism - with Buddha chants
all over the place - and trippy guitar playing make room for an otherwordly
experience. The album opens with a rendition of 'Holy Thursday' lifted from
David Axelrod masterpiece 'Song of Innocence' and sets the mood for a series
of ancestral musical performance. Released on Teichiku Records in 1971 this
album still stands as one of the most original piece of art coming from the
eastern side |

Any
Act's Ne Boyat'sya EP unleashes an endurance test of annihilated techno. Punk
blood runs red across the 5-track EP of unrelenting no-fucks-given energy and
adds to an already thriving community of like-minded Russian brethren. It is
here where Any Act builds upon this fertile ground and forges new bounds of
invigorated punk techno and EBM. Take the eponymous opening track - a
bare-knuckled anthem of distorted guitars and thrashing drum-set fills that

Building off this heat-induced energy, "Moskva-Baghdad" carves out

Since
emerging in the early 2000s with releases on the seminal Merck label,
Proswell (Joseph Misra) has proven to be one of the most original voices in
IDM. People Are Giving And Receiving Things At Incredible Speeds (PAGARTAIS),
his debut on Sheffield's Central Processing Unit, is another Proswell record
which overflows with creative energy. Containing five widescreen electronic
epics, PAGARTAIS showcases some of the most ambitious work in the
discographies of both artist and label. he core sonic palette of PAGARTAIS is
one schooled in the IDM and electronica sounds of imprints like Rephlex
Records, B12 and Skam. These tracks are helmed by thick washes of keys, an
array of playful synth tones and drums so deft it's sometimes hard to tell
whether they have been programmed or played live. However, across almost
forty minutes of music here Proswell explodes preconceptions about genre and

release’s opening track Vibrancy is the clearest example of UMEK’s signature
combination of a tougher techno sound with more emotive, melodic elements,
this time with a pounding kick-drum making way for a groove-laden breakdown
halfway through. Message is the perfect combination of Mark’s streamlined
style and UMEK’s compelling melody. Opening with a thundering kick drum and
dramatic vocals, the high-paced groove builds towards the introduction of the
lead synth and its twisted euphoria. Hard hitting and full of character, this
is a high calibre release that showcases two of techno’s most influential
producers. UMEK’s track Distinct Operator follows his winning formula
blending a thundering kick drum with breath-taking synth lines. Adding

Having
established himself as a core Apollo artist with three fantastic EPs since
2016, Sieren now steps up with a first full length for the label. ‘Timelapse’
is a majestic 13 track trip into this unique artist’s very emotional fusion
of post-bass bliss. Sieren aka Matthias Frick is a master of intricate
electronics and bittersweet emotions, of deep atmospherics and compelling
rhythms. He has been building a dedicated following for some years now,
putting out his debut album on Christian Loffler's Ki Records in 2016.
Inspired by a rich history of bass-driven UK sounds, he pairs that with a
love of field recording and experimental soundscaping, and now shows he is an
ever evolving master of his art on this stunning new record. Half of the
album was sketched out while Sieren stayed in California, and the other half
was constructed in other places, or inspired by images he's taken of those
places, while on the road over the last two years. It makes use of key bits
of gear such as Ableton Live, Juno 106, a Prophet 8 and various guitar pedals
and plays out like a movie. Says the artist himself, "In a way the LP is
like a time-lapse from 2018 to now and sort of encapsulates all the places
I've been and my respective memories of them.” |

Beyond
The Yellow Haze is the debut release by Nigerian sound and installation
artist Emeka Ogboh on Ostgut Ton sublabel A-TON. Combining subtle layers of
ambient electronics, dance music and field recordings from the city of Lagos,
Ogboh’s compositions reflect both the Nigerian city’s soundscapes as well as
the artist’s increasing immersion in electronic music since moving to Berlin
six years ago. Like his sound installation Ayilara for Berghain’s main floor
in the current STUDIO BERLIN exhibition, Beyond The Yellow Haze contains a
veritable atonal orchestra of honking, motors, sound systems, sidewalk sales
pitches and various sonic artifacts of Lagos’s Danfo bus stations and beyond.
These serve as both punctuation and swirling atmosphere within a kaleidoscope
of bass and polyrhythms. The unpredictable result is at once place-specific
and geographically indefinable. A city in situ – and processed in memory and
rhythm very far away. The recordings were originally included as part of
Ogboh’s 2018 exhibition No Condition Is Permanent at Galerie Imane Farès and
self-released as a stamped and signed artist edition |

November 20th OG NY dons Masters At Work (AKA KenLou) deliver a set of
peerless, platinum grade reworks of ‘Antigravity Love’ by Bristol innovator
Krust, released via Crosstown Rebels. Hugely important in their respective
fields, this meeting of veteran titans is the latest chapter in an exchange
that reaches back to 1997, when Krust sampled MAW alias Nuyorican Soul’s
‘Nautilus (Mawtilus)’/‘Mind Fluid’ on his game-changing single 'Soul In
Motion’. This was followed in 1998 by Nuyorican Soul’s remix of 'Watching
Windows' by Reprazent, of which Krust was a key member. Both Krust and
Masters At Work were also labelmates on Gilles Peterson's Talkin Loud label.
Across four versions the duo known individually as Kenny” Dope” Gonzalez and
Little Louie Vega deliver pure audiophile euphony, with a sonic depth and

several collaborations already under their belt, including 2017’s esteemed
Implications EP, Gruuv-bosses Audiojack and American-talent Kevin Knapp make
a return to Crosstown Rebels in February with Under Your Skin. The release,
taken from Audiojack’s forthcoming May album, includes a club edit of the
single as well as a remix and dub version courtesy of Hessle Audio mainstay
Pearson Sound. The club cut of Under Your Skin takes the lead, pairing punchy
kick-hat combos against a tension-building breakdown before the hard-hitting
four-four bassline is swiftly brought back in. The single version comes next,
taking no prisoners with a breakbeat backbone that brings Kevin’s lyrics to
the forefront, paving the way for UK-talent Pearson Sound as he serves up
five minutes of glitchy, dancefloor-ready breaks on the main remix. Rounding
off the release is the Skeleton Dub, a tripped-back late-night creeper that
showcases the UK-talent at his best. Leeds-born Ibiza-based Audiojack have

Hoshina
Anniversary returns from forever for a majestic dance. This is his second
offering for the ESP Institute. Side A’s Karakuri contains all the elements
of Hoshina’s signature sound; bouncy staccato bassline, minor chords and
organ stabs, a Chick Corea-inspired Rhodes that walks all over the place, all
tracked along sparse bits of Japanese percussion and cymbal that juxtapose
organic texture with precision-machined timing. The lead keys feel at first
as if they’re freeform, however, Hoshina’s obsession with order becomes
apparent as the bars develop and his systematic control and repetition is
revealed. On side B’s Michinoku, we’re treated to a deep and slow burner. A
roller of a beat based on 808 toms and a pishy snare sets the somewhat bumpy
base for this groove, and again the meat of the rhythm is built with dirty
chords, this time on the upstroke, in an almost Reggae style. What the
flipside taught us about Hoshina’s controlled chaos, is here again the lesson
and perhaps even moreso. The voice of the track remains the Fender Rhodes,
played in brief but wild phrases and arranged into patterns upon which
Hoshina builds layers over some 8+ minutes |

Creations continues its 2021 release schedule in February with a maiden EP
from Disaia. The Spanish duo, who are swiftly rising up the electronic music

Groove was one of the pioneering house music labels to come out of New York.
Originally active between 1988 and 1992, its mark on the scene was to be felt
for years to come. The cult label has been lovingly cared for by Defected
since 2017, when the label group acquired the catalogue and re-packaged it

Hester returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids label with the second instalment of
his ‘Converge’ LP, ‘Converge - Part II’. The second part of 2020’s ‘Converge
- Part I’, a body of music which saw enthusiastic responses from the likes of
Surgeon, Lauren Flax, DJ Bone, Anthony Parasole and Jus-Ed to name just a
few, sees the Berlin-based DJ/Producer and dancer generously expand on and
refine his slick vision of techno on one of electronic music’s key labels. By
encompassing warm and soulful textures within club focussed grooves, Hester
continues to explore the far reaches of both the musical cues picked up from
his years as a dancer and formative time spent in the Midwest US, connecting
influences from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit. Stretched across a double
LP, the album opens with the spacious and icy ‘Stealth’ followed by the
machine communications of ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The B-side sees a
whirlwind of the synthetic in ‘Instant’ before ‘Contact’ swiftly picks up the
pace with it’s warbling pads and slippery percussion. On the second disc,
‘Circadian Slip’, custom-built for dancefloor pandemonium, continues with
off-kilter leads and vocal snippets before ‘Shadows’ brings eerie syncopation
to the proceedings. In the final stretch, ‘Silver’ maintains steady energy
into the twilight hours, and the gorgeous ‘Wonder’ closes out the LP
beautifully, providing a soft landing to an exceptional journey through
Hester’s sound |

The album was originally recorded
by Swedish National Radio for a radio show called Tonkraft at the Stockholm
Konserthuset on 12 November 1970, but not released until 1988. The tapes were
re-mixed by Tom Leader at Angel Recording Studios in London. It remains the
prime example of the early Mk II set list. The set list comprises songs from
the album Deep Purple in Rock and long instrumentals from earlier albums. The
two songs "Mandrake Root" and "Wring that Neck" took up
half the concert in the early days, until the Fireball tour when the lineup
was able to add more original material |

Originally released in November
1982, ‘Sound of Music’ was the second album from ‘Clockwork punks’ the
ADICTS. Preceded by the release of the three track “Chinese Takeaway” EP,
which also featured “Too Young” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone” - both included
here as bonus tracks along with their subsequent hits ‘Bad Boy’ and ‘Tokyo’
and an unreleased version of Ramones’ classic ‘I wanna be sedated’ - the
album was widely praised in the music press of the day with ‘Sounds’ saying
“thank Christ for The Adicts. In this often grey and depressing world they
entertain us, uplift us and unify us”. Thirteen slices of punk/Oi! fun that
made history, in a luxurious one-time GATEFOLD edition with poster, including

Sonor
Music Editions proudly announces the first commercial release on vinyl
(shortly followed by a CD edition) of Ennio Morricone's soundtrack to the
film "I DUE EVASI DI SING SING" from 1964, directed by the
legendary Lucio Fulci and starring the famed Italian comedy characters Franco
Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia. A bit away from what would have been his 92°
birthday, the label presents a pseudo unreleased gem by the greatest all-time
composer at the beginning of his career. This stunning recovery was possible
thanks to the work of the producer Lorenzo Fabrizi (head of Sonor Music
Editions) and the collaboration of Claudio Fuiano and Daniel Winkler, two
significant connoisseurs in the field and maestro Morricone's discography.
The album was originally released on an impossible-to-find promo-only library
release in the late '60s with different titles, due to that the score
remained concealed until now. With the recoup of the original MONO tapes
Sonor was able to work with the original soundtrack sequence adding two bonus
tracks from the original sessions. The music enhances the stories of two
sloppy thiefs (Franchi and Ingrassia) in the styles of orchestral Jazz and
Bossa Nova, with more sweet and cheerful themes built around the bewitching
character of Gloria Paul |

early 90s, Joi Lau was working as a comic assistant when he got signed by a
record label in Hong Kong. Under the moniker Joey Lau, his debut album went
gold and sold over 25000 copies. Fast forward to 2021 and you'd be forgiven
for scratching your head at the transformation Joi has undergone. Joi's album
served as his only release up until he met Klasse Wrecks' Mr. Ho 30 years
later in a nightclub in downtown Hong Kong. At 8 tracks '3 UR MIND' is only a
micro-selection of Joi's immense back catalogue of work, a body of songs that
is impossible to locate within a normal field of genres and classification.
At times tribal and at times progressive, Joi's music is a patchwork of
modern and sharp percussion, sinister bass and traditional eastern motifs,
resulting in a style that sounds like a representation of life in busy and
hectic Hong Kong. Although his pop star days are behind him, Joi has never
stopped making music. With close to one hundred tracks waiting to see the

a wafting deep house collab with fellow Italian Berlin resident Ruff Stuff,
Black Loops (Ricardo Paffetti) brings Shall Not Fade a third EP of rolling,
danceable house of the highest calibre. Paffetti has built a reputation as a
creative, high-class producer and does not disappoint on "Circulation
EP" - the Shall Not Fade regular makes tribute to classic Italian house
while adding a futuristic, unique spin. The 5-tracker opens with "Mike
The Dog". It's a crazy electro-garage hybrid that foregrounds frenetic
drum loops, while soft lofi chords give way to a disco-like bassline,
starting the record off lightheartedly. Title track "Circulation"
hits with a syncopated kick and dubbed out vocals that swirl in your head, contrasting
a smooth, darker sound design made for sunset dancing. Paffetti perfects a
meticulous sound palette across the B-side. From "Banana 20", a
pacey track lead by its squelching bassline, to "Dream2gether" -
gliding lead synth, trading spotlights with the echoed vocal - these are love
songs for the dancefloor. The EP closes out to "Danse sur
L'Hardcore", a pumping beast of a house track studded with sparkling
chord stabs and g-funk synth trills |

Barely
a year old and already well-established, Shall Not Fade's bassier sublabel
Time Is Now dishes up a plate of deliciously fresh forward beats, from slick
R&B vocal pieces to tracks which pack a punch. The six-track compilation
features familiar faces from previous releases, with some featuring artists
new to the label. Freddie Baker, releasing under the moniker Bakey, got his
first ever label release on Time Is Now last year and has been non-stop
since, recently copping a spot on the Rinse FM Garage Hour. His offering for
Allstars Vol.2 is a weighty stepper built on a growling bassline.
"Dismantle" knocks you off your feet, luckily the second track (a
collab between Interplanetary Criminal and Hypho) lays low in the intro
before hitting you with a deep, wobbling drop, chopped up vocals skipping
across the staccato rhythm. While relative newcomer Interplanetary Criminal
(Zachary Bruce) has specialised in pretty upbeat garage, Hypho (Louis
Richardson) has been experimenting on the bassier side of club music for
nearly a decade, and his dubstep influence shines through in the depth of
"Talbot Road" |

Following
the release of a number of EPs on Swiss, German, British and Australian
labels, Trinidad will release their debut album ‘Palm Trees & Thirty
Degrees’ on October 16th 2020. The album draws on the Swiss-based trio’s
experience of sustaining the energy of festival and club shows, while also
providing the perfect background to a relaxed summer evening with
friends. The project provides an
opportunity for the trio to indulge in a range of musical influences,
blending together a mix of synthesizers with the haunting tones of a church
organ, the warmth of a string quartet and regality of an opera singer. The
album grew organically, with inspiration taking hold beyond the confines of
the studio: the bonus track recorded with a Jamaican reggae singer in the
back of a VW bus in Greece. Soundscapes from Colombia to India were captured
and embedded. With "Palm Trees & Thirty Degrees" Trinidad guide
listeners on a journey to a tropical paradise; to a wonderful, perhaps
peculiar place of confidence, created and shaped by the mental theatre of the
moment. The soft kiss of a warm breeze hits you as you adjust to your new
surroundings ("Desembarco"); leaving the static chatter of your
thoughts behind in the "Lobby" (feat. MonoAbe) of your mind; you
allow yourself to imagine what the evening holds in store (“Kopfkino”) |

the huge success of their first collaboration, Doorly and El Prevost are back
for part two: this time the world touring Doorly serves up a hot original
that gets remixed by Red Rack'em and El Prevost, while El Prevost also serves
up an original of his own, all on his own No Speakers label. The first EP,
featuring a Lee Foss remix, gotsupport form the likes of Paco Osuna, Solomun

summer. Doorly is a dance heavyweight who headlines clubs like Space Ibiza on
his globaltravels, releases on Cajual, Hot Creations and Dirtybird and is no
stranger to hitting high places in the charts with his big and infectious
sounds. As a DJ he is energetic and can make a mark on any dance floor, and
so will this new tune, 'Sonder.' It is six superbly deep and atmospheric
minutes of warm, rolling drums and searching synths that bring an
intergalactic feel next to twinkling keys. Jostling percussion brings a
little loose funk and the whole thing is sure to lock in dance floors. El
