London based darkwave duo The Agnes Circle released their first and so far
only full-length album on Avant!. Some Vague Desire became some kind of an
instant classic amongst the dark hearts passionate about this sound and both
editions on CD and LP sold out real quick. After all, their recipe made of
equal shares of English post-punk and French coldwave was just perfect. While
the band seemed to go on some sort of hiatus a few months later, the demand
for their debut album stayed constant all these years, proving how good the
record still is today. Therefore we’re very pleased to announce that Some

Tilman
is back again on the Shall Not Fade Seasons Series imprint. The German
producer, who specialises in pumping, jazz-inflected house, brings the
positivity of his personality into his music - "Untitled Scripts",
his longest release yet, has the sweet sounds of summer interwoven
throughout. The EP sees him moving away from sample-heavy house, although the
first track "Relax Yourself" is still a sample-driven house piece
that is classic Tilman. In contrast, "By All Means" beautifully
showcases his abilities as an instrumentalist - sublime keys that are
interspersed with singer Louisa Laos' R&B vocals. It's the first time
Tilman has worked with a singer, and a standout moment in the record, a song
with potential beyond the club. "Beauty In The Dark" uses peaceful
flute stabs to contrast with a real deep bassline; somewhat dreamy, but still
a danceable roller. The A-side closes with "Sound Issue 84",
definitely another dance tool, a tight hi-hat contrasted with dubbed out
chords that hypnotise. Tilman says "Vice Versa" is "the love
song of the EP". Real classic house vibes on this one; melodic piano
that feels totally alluring - something to spark a dancefloor romance.
"Mercury Hill" builds into maximalism, a shimmering eclectic
collection of sounds. "Say Good Bye" takes a real 90s house
approach - it wouldn't be out of place in the golden Ibiza summers, and leads
well into "Make You Hot" |

Out Recordings is delighted to present Mora!, and for the first time ever on
vinyl Mora! II. Mexican-American percussionist and former member of the Sun
Ra Arkestra, Francisco Mora Catlett originally recorded and released his
debut solo LP as a private press in 1987, but the sequel he recorded over the
course of the next few years with an expanded Detroit jazz brass section was
shelved for decades to follow. A pan-American melting pot of hypnotic
afro-cuban rhythms, frenetic batucadas and fiery sambas, Mora I & II are
holy grails of latin jazz, masterminded by an unsung hero of the genre. Born
in Washington DC, 1947, Francisco Mora Jr is the eldest child of two highly
prominent Mexican artists, Francisco Mora Sr and Elizabeth Catlett, to whom this
project was dedicated. Being born into a mixed heritage bohemian family
provided Mora Jr with what he called a “creative, progressive, and healthy
arts environment”, building the foundations for a fascinating career journey
ahead. Mora grew up in Mexico City where he began working as a session
musician for Capitol Records in 1968, before moving to study at Berklee Music
College in Boston, MA in 1970 |

Once
he’d completed his studies in 1973, he very briefly returned to Mexico City
with the best intentions of cultivating an avant-garde movement in the city,
but when the Sun Ra Arkestra came to perform, Mora ended up leaving with the
band to tour the world for the next seven years, a decent innings within a
group famous for its constantly evolving line up. Settling in Detroit after
his years with the Arkestra, Francisco set to work on his self-titled debut,
gathering an ensemble of musicians that included keyboardist Kenny Cox,
founder of the legendary Strata Records, esteemed bassist Rodney Whitaker of
the Roy Hargrove Quintet and percussionists Jerome Le Duff, Alberto Nacif,
and Emile Borde. The album openly embraces and unites the broad spectrum of
improvisation, rhythm, and jazz that has thrived throughout the American
continents for centuries. In Mora’s own words the album intended to “manifest
the African heritage presence in the American continent.” Epitomising this
outlook, album opener ‘Afra Jum’ deploys a melody based on Haitian, African
and Native American motifs, which is expanded upon by the soulful excellence
of the Detroit veterans Cox and Whitaker, amidst a backdrop of afro-cuban
inspired percussion |

create rich harmonic interpolations and potent imagery that never fails to

"Caravan"
is the band's upcoming third full-length album. It is the direct successor to
last year's "Under Acid Hoof" and the fourth release of the band
with Heavy Psych Sounds Records. It was conceived, recorded and produced
during a state of total lockdown due to Covid-19, therefore it greatly
reflects our mood during these dark times. It is a heavy, sublime and pitch
black journey into the vast unknown. Like all of our previous works,
"Caravan" was recorded, mixed and mastered with Dionysis Dimitrakos
of Descent Studio in Athens, while drums were recorded at Ignite Studio. The
artwork was once again crafted by Branca Studio. It is a witchy album for
witchy ears, a heavy opus that has emerged straight from the deepest abyss.
Once again the father and son duo on guitars offer the listener a horde of
crushing, fuzzy, Iommi riffs while the mammoth bass tears down everything in
its path with its acid hooves. Its drums are thundering unearthly beats of
harrowing doom while its mesmerizing vocals will bewitch you with their words
of woe. Heavier and more diverse than its predecessor, "Caravan" is
here to tear you down with its acid tusks. Prepare to be doomed!!! |

anthems from the vaults of Aussie Skinhead gangs 1972-1979. Sharpies were the
terror-teen cast of a Richard Allen novel that never was. Although largely
synonymous with the early-to-mid 1970s, reports of their violent clashes with
rival gangs of Mods are documented as early as 1966. Bored, working-class,
suburban kids, their teenage rampage began in Melbourne, Australia, but soon
there were Sharpie gangs forming in Sydney, Perth and beyond. For a while
they were the untouchables, ruling dances, discos and public transport with
their fists. Sharpies were fiercely territorial and divided into different
chapters according to location. They would often wage aggressive wars within
their tightly delineated sub-gangs, although Mods always remained their archenemies.
Sharpie boys and girls wore similar uniforms: a slim-fitting, ribbed and
collared cardigan called a Conny, T-shirts, tight jeans (Lee or Levis) and
big platform shoes. Hair was worn short or shaved with long wisps at the
back, influenced by the British ska, mod and skinhead subcultures. Sharpie
girls had their hair slightly longer and often with colored streaks -
Bowie-red was their color of choice. Boys often bleached their hair. Tattoos
were popular, although many were homemade and poorly executed. Their diet was
anthemic glam-rock, kung-fu movies and Kubricks A Clockwork Orange. As the
1970s drew to a close, and new styles like punk and disco began to emerge,
Sharpies started to fade. By 1979 they were all but gone. Today they are
recognized as an important part of Australian youth culture and social
history. This compilation features rare tracks and 'cult' anthems that were
the soundtrack to the rise of this Australian answer to the skinhead
subculture: with the likes of the Hush, Fat Daddy, Supernaut, Skyhooks, John
Paul Young... it can't be missing in any 'Killed By Death' type collection! |

Vermandere is samen met generatiegenoten Jan De Wilde, Zjef Vanuytsel en Wim
De Craene één van de pioniers van de Vlaamse kleinkunst. De
muzikant-kunstenaar brengt al studio-albums uit sinds eind de jaren zestig.
Dit jaar werd de West-Vlaamse zanger 80 jaar. 2020 stond in het teken van een
uitgebreide verjaardagstournee tot stoorzender corona de kop opstak. Meer dan
veertig concerten van Willem werden geannuleerd. Op de platen van Willem
Vermandere staan klassiekers die nog altijd veelvuldig op de radio gedraaid
worden. Tot zijn meest bekende nummers behoren o.a. 'Laat Mie Maar Lopen' en
'Duizend Soldaten'. Toch duurde het lang vooraleer Willem met een echte
single naar buiten kwam: 'Bange Blanke Man' verscheen in 1991. Op 4 december
brengen wij één van 's mans mooiste nummers voor de allereerste keer uit op
een vinyl single: 'Blanche En Zijn Peird'. Het nummer 'Blanche En Zijn Peird'

Venturing
off course from his Post-Punk / Dark Wave project,The Soft Moon, Los Angeles
born composer and multi-instrumentalist Luis Vasquez, embarks into new
territory with A Body Of Errors, a bold reimagining of the soundtrack genre.
With this album, Vasquez felt the urgency to break away from The Soft Moon
realm and deliver an even more intimate, self-reflecting body of work, while
further unveiling inner demons & vulnerability. He continues to explore
his notorious angst and visceral pain, but places them in the context of his
own physical being, creating the deeply personal, yet relatable and
compelling oddity that is A Body Of Errors, which Vasquez describes as a
collection of themes to living in the human body. Opening track “Interno”
with its crushing synthesizers, is a blast off into the abyss of self.
Sinister gasps introduce “Poison Mouth” stomping you with relentless torment
before spiraling into oblivion. Halfway, we reach the mechanized rhythms and
throbbing cardiac pulse of “Surgery” expressing Vasquez’s phobia with the
body itself. “No Longer Human” with its hallucinogenic flutter and distant
cries, imagines a fantastic universe beyond, with a nod to David Lynch’s Twin
Peaks. The only lyrical appearance on A Body Of Errors is “Used To Be” a
gut-wrenching wall-of-sound ballad romanticizing the struggle between one's
good side & bad side. Pulling you into armageddon, A Body Of Errors
closes with “World On Fire” an epic post-apocalyptic battle-storm painted
vividly through symphonic devastation |

here we have an unreleased album recorded in NYC in 1999 by this super
band. Jerry Teel - vocals, guitar (The
Chrome Cranks, Honeymoon Killers, Boss Hog, Big City Stompers). Kid Congo Powers - vocals, guitar (The Gun
Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Butcher Shop). Jack Martin - guitar (Five Dollar Priest) *
Barry London - organ, piano, harp. Bob
Bert - drums (The Chrome Cranks, Five Dollar Priest, Sonic Youth, Pussy
Galore, Lydia Lunch). Recorded at legendary NY studio Funhouse, these
recoordings have remained unheard so far (except for the Tom Waits cover) and
some of the tracks were afterwards rerecorded for their last album. But here
we have the original album as it was concived with their impolute swamp,

Traffic disbanded in 1969 when
Winwood co-founded the short-lived supergroup Blind Faith, with Eric Clapton,
then reunited in 1970 to release the album John Barleycorn Must Die. The
band's line-up varied from this point until they disbanded again in 1974. A
partial reunion, with Winwood and Capaldi, took place in 1994 and here's the
show we're exclusively offering. The four original members of Traffic were
inducted for their contributions in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 15
March 2004. Winwood, Capaldi, Mason, and Stephanie Wood (standing in for her
late brother Chris) all attended the ceremony. Winwood and Capaldi took part
in the induction performance, but were joined by Dave Mason performing his
song 'Feelin- Alright' for the grand finale which also featured Keith
Richards, Tom Petty, and the Temptations. The induction lineup was completed
by Bramblett on organ and bass pedals, even though he was not one of the
members inducted. Traffic were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
in 2004 |

Delia Derbyshire is one of the
most innovative electronic musicians of the 20th Century. She is best known
for her pioneering work for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and for composing
the classic theme song for the original Doctor Who, believed to be the earliest
'electronic' theme song in television history. A brilliant composer and one
of the few women operating in the early era of electronic music, In the early
'60s she collaborated with the British artist and playwright Barry Bermange
for the BBC's Third Programme to produce four Inventions for Radio, a collage
of people describing their dreams, set to a background of electronic sound.
This is the first, simply titled Dreams, an attempt to represent, in sound,
the sensation of dreaming. Derbyshire's electronic and musique concrete
soundbed is the perfect underscore to the narration, simultaneously jarring,
dissonant, and terrifying. An amazing piece of work from one of the legendary
pioneers of electronic music |

First
released by Cazzo Film in 2001, ebo hill’s Bonking Berlin Bastards has long
achieved the status of an underground punk porn classic. Like the Cazzo
productions of director Bruce LaBruce, hill’s vision was both ahead of its
time and a playful distillation of 90s and early-2000s Berlin Zeitgeist:
queer, industrial, hypersexual, exhibitionist and fueled by electronic music.
The story is told in large part by the soundtrack, to be released for the
first time on Ostgut Ton sublabel A-TON. The music follows a group of
squatters, punks and drag queens as they fuck, party and stumble their way
through an empty city at the turn of the millennium. Approaching these themes
more through location than plot, the film’s narrative freedom is also a
narrative of freedom; between chance encounters and sex in public, atop the
maze of roofs in the city’s former East, bent over bridges and moaning in
ecstasy at oncoming traffic, pants down in telephone booths, packed into sex
clubs, in the shadows of abandoned factories and techno clubs lost in time.
Composed by improvisational techno trio AeoX and noise / industrial producer
Rouage aka CNM (respectively), the music spans a broad range of appropriately
pounding industrial, weird techno, noise, ultra-stoned ambient, improvised
dub and electro. It’s a sonic spectrum that connects Berlin’s queer hardcore
techno and squatter party scenes from which AeoX and Rouage emerged, drawing
a direct line between the likes of Berghain-forerunner OstGut (a primary
meeting point for the film’s cast & crew) to the more industrial,
breakcore and noise- oriented independent party collectives and locations who
provided multiple settings for the film, including Grüne Hölle and Stellwerk.

high roller of the new generation of techno VTSS aka Martyna Maja returns
with a mesmerising 6-track EP titled ‘Borderline Tenderness’, this time from
Berlin-Milan label VEYL run by Alex Knoblauch & Maenad Veyl. Following a
tremendously acclaimed collection of releases showcasing her fresh take on
dance floor belters through Intrepid Skin, REPITCH, HAVEN and also featuring
on KAOS, Monnom Black and Hellcat; this new record expands her horizons to
different sides of her odd electronics as in ‘Woah’, while also giving a
proper dose of her well-known craft to incorporate hardcore, EBM and acid
influences on cheeky techno grooves. Collaboration with friends and

three-piece Steiger are set to release new album 'The New Lady Llama' on the
9th April via groove-obsessed label Sdban Ultra. A 21st century piano trio
who continue to exemplify the spirit of exploration in their sound, if the
critically acclaimed albums 'And Above All' (2017) and 'Give Space' (2018)
prove anything, is that Steiger is not just a band, but a continuous
work-in-progress. On 'The New Lady Llama', Gilles Vandecaveye-Pinoy
(keyboards), Kobe Boon (bass) and Simon Raman (drums) eagerly explore the
outer margins of jazz and dive into other universes (contemporary music,
electronica, pop, free improvisation), yet remain faithful to the genre's
long-standing core principle; that of a flexible transformation. Winners of
the 2017 Gent Jazz Festivals' Jazztalent award, Steiger were one of twelve
acts asked to perform at the prestigious 12 Points Festival in Dublin in 2018
and recent residencies at Vooruit (Ghent), Flagey (Brussels) and deSingel
(Antwerp) have allowed the band the opportunity to incorporate new ideas into
the music including prepared piano, harpsichord and synths. Collaborating
with Australian contemporary electronic and avant garde composer Joe Talia
(Oren Ambarchi, Jim O'Rourke), Talia was granted the freedom to remodel/remix
the material that the band designed during their residencies. The end result:
an electro-acoustic exploration that blurs boundaries. 'The New Lady Llama'
is the next step in Steiger's fascinating evolution as the trio continue its

Many people kept asking for a
vinyl release so we figured we'd open the new Pure Coincidences series with
these tracks. The biggest 'hit' to date on Coincidence was definitely REMY-X'
"The Body". Played in heavy rotation by I Hate Models, Amelie Lens
and Marika Rossa among others, it was on number 1 for several weeks and got
played 100k times on Soundcloud and streamed about the same amount of times.
So it made sense to start the series with this bomb. The second track is by
our longtime friend Esther Duijn who was remixed by Dutch Hardcore and Techno
hero Ruffneck Prime. On the B-side, we have one of our all-time favorite
producer duos: Noneoftheabove. Check the track and you'll get why. The final
track is made by british prospect Figxxro, his "Tunnel Vision" was
one of the absolute highlights on the label |

cadre for an extended EP of hypnotic house, following on from his stellar
contribution to Shall Not Fade's 5 Years compilation. The enigmatic French
producer has always let his music speak for itself, and on Never Complain he
cures lockdown blues with a collection of tracks that are uplifting and
carefree. DJ Psychiatre channels classic deep house and laid back, sultry
vibes across the record. "I Was There" is built around a funky
bassline but isn't overstated, tempting the listener in with swirling synths.
In contrast, "Very Funky, Very Soulful" is exactly that: a grooving
number that gets your hips moving. Genre-hopping, Creton then presents us
with a rigid techy number in "Never Complain", still making way for
some dusty soulful chords in a callback to his lofi roots. On the B-side,
"Bouncing Back" ups the tempo - pacey and danceable hard-hitting
house. "Keep This Sound Going" is a swinging piece, somewhere
between lounge jazz and house music for the early hours, and there's some
old-school deep tech stylisation in the infectious bassline of "Feelings
- Xdeep mix". Seductive whispers that tempt the dancer give way to a
syncopated rhythm and funky, slapping bass in the record's climax, "Le

A little later than scheduled,
but we're back in action with the 92nd release on 3am Recordings, this is the
fourth instalment of the "3am Wax" series, showcasing artists who
have been part of the label family for some time & whose work we love on
vinyl-only. Kicking off the EP is long-time 3am artist Carlo Gambino. The
last few years have been very kind to Carlo - not only has he remixed of his
personal favourite tracks, namely "After All" for Franck Roger's
Real Tone Records, he also had an absolute smash in the Summer of 2020, with
"Dance For You" on Cinthie's We_R_House label, which was a sell-out
all over. That's alongside his usual flurry of quality deepness for labels
across the board. Here we have a typically bumpy affair from him, with his
familiar low-end-bothering bass & dubby stabs, this time with a very
tongue-in-cheek vocal flowing through the track. More deeply chunky vibes
from Mr Gambino! |

Spectral Decay' is a collection
of musical reflections about the paradoxical contemporary state of humankind,
whereas its own technological, social, cultural and economical development
seems to entrench the possible points of a structura downfall. The narrative
of - Spectral Decay' starts with heavy, mesmerizing industrial vibes. Due to
the notable sound design techniques of Japanese artist Tetsumasa, his hefty
piece - Nex' evolves into a harsh but still amazingly cinematical music
sculpture. Subsequent mid-tempo composition - Onzour Shayatini' by Meer
dynamically follows the dark, experimental path of drone and noisy
structures. Violent accents smoothly lead to the deconstruction of drum &
bass patterns and turn into strident 90s metal riffs. The track progressively
penetrates obscure subterranean abysses and becomes a perfect introduction to
the next theme by Yuji Kondo - - Hades'. In Greek mythology Hades was the
ancient god of the underground kingdoms, darkness, death and metals |

philosophy of our label, a vision! Pelacha works with 4x4 rhythms in her
track titled ʻAsteroidʼ resulting in a very groovy track, with
Detroit touches and pads that accompany and enrich the trip, leading us into
a climax of delicious rhythms. Serkin then takes us through a beautiful
landscape of emotions contained within a melody, reaching us deep inside the
heart with ʻSomething in The Skyʼ, a structured track in the style
of IDM where musicality and rhythms break in a sublime yet orderly manner.
K3rn3l Pøissøn surprises us once again with his far out vision of the future.

Bologna's
increasing influence on dancefloors across the world continues as hotly
tipped lo-fi house duo Nas1 drop their first release on their home town
label, SorryForThis records and is sure to be a big moment for their
burgeoning reputations. It's an eclectic, multi-layered 4 track EP that
pushes the boundaries of what is possible with such minimalist kit to the
extreme and includes a remix from Sound Signature legend Marcellus Pittman.
Vino Cheenese, as the title suggests, is a leftfield rumbler that, once
finished, leaves you unsure how you got there - but sure you enjoyed the
journey. Oriental synths flutter over a pounding bassline, taking you from
gloriously lo-fi, serene moments to being inundated with beats provided by a
Simmons SDS8 and Akai MPC1000 that puncture the surreal atmosphere. The
Pittman remix removes any pretence of serenity and has more of an eye on the
dark end of the dancefloor. The bassline is rendered more ominous and the
beats more relentless and distorted, while keeping the leftfield vibes in
tact |

With
the Shibboleth EP, Osaka based artist Metome delivers a fierce sonic collage:
experimental to its core, it presents a vibrant embroidery of sound where the
spaces in between are as important as the stitches themselves. Arrangements
composed of fluoro synth leads, Rhodes chords, tumbling bass, chopped vocals,
pitch modulation salvos, and nuances that evade definition fester and rub up
against one another. These intensely tactile and flexible elements are
rendered through an intricate filter shaped by pop music, grime as well as
nu-jazz into punctured grooves that aim to knock the listener askew. Although
they brook no dissent and no compromise, they evidence that polish and power
are not mutually exclusive. As striking as all the fragments are in isolation,
at the heart a solid sense of harmony remains. The sections that make up the
tracks are compressed into terse blasts, lined up one after another, lending
the record a distilled character. Transitory nodes supply balance as much as
they suggest the imminence of acceleration or collapse |
