This 4×12″ Boxed Set
represents the artists whose music is played the most on Bleep Radio.
Literally and objectively played the most. I’m a big number crunching
statistics nerd and have trended my own track-lists for years as many of you
know. As a Canadian, far removed from where the music I like shines the
brightest I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to meet with and
play alongside a lot of these folks in person and not just via the stream.
Bleep Radio is expected to hit show 500 on May 14th which is when this
release will drop. The 500th show will consist of a mix of all of the tracks
on this release by myself, plus…guests? This release is isn’t just a
milestone, it’s an open love letter to all of you whose music I play and will
continue to play and support (and encourage all of you to do the same). Keep

Not Fade's Season Series imprint hosts Brighton-based DJ and producer Gavinco
(Joe Newham) for its first long-play release - Dumont LP; a mellow yet
rhythmic collection of jazz house explorations. This is his second LP in a
year, and blends organic instrumentation with clubby samples. Dumont is a
polished piece of work, smoothly produced and flowing from song to song
imperceptibly like the pianist improvising to entertain punters in an uptown
jazz bar. The title track is all swinging, dusty sax scattered with sharp
natural keys, although the rough and ready undercurrent suggests something
clubbier. It prepares you for the harder "Electronic Feeling" that
takes similar jazz stylization but ups the house beat; a bassiness builds
into the end of the A-side with "Transit" centering around
saxophone loops and elevated percussion that gets hips moving. This is
stripped right back for wistful guitar and soulful female vocals in
"Sweetness" - "Carry On" acts as a meeting point between
this and the danceable rest of the record, summer vibes passing through it as
the pulse of house influence builds. Newham plays with Herbie Hancock-style
flute trills during "Fusion", vintage funk guitar rising hazily
from the rhythm like a mirage |

Perc Trax for his first original release of 2020 and his first full EP since
'Three Tracks To Send To Your Ghost Producer' was released back in March
2019. 'Fire In Negative' includes three tracks adapted from his live set at
Reaktor's Unpolished event in Amsterdam earlier of this year, plus another
completed directly after that set when the atmosphere and energy of that
event was still fresh in his mind. Title track and opener 'Fire In Negative'
fuses crushing kicks with covert art gallery recordings and the crackling
flames of the title, topped off with Ventolin-esque sine tones. Another
statement track from Perc, sidestepping the current trend for rave revivalism
whilst matching its energy toe to toe. 'E Mono' is a classic Perc drum track,
skipping big builds for an unexpected switch in the middle section, whilst
'Snare' goes in the opposite direction, breaking down into two minutes of
abrasive feedback before finally kicking back in |

Extraordinary

'Coeur Calme' in 2014, 21 year-old Congolese exile Kimyan Law sets the bar

Swahili for 'gift', 'Zawadi' is a fitting title for an album that comes

Records will reissue parts of the library serie 'A Special Radio ~ TV Record'
released on the Belgian based Selection Records between 1976 and 1981 on
vinyl. Sdban Records teams up with publisher Hans Kusters wo recently bought
this catalog. Nonetheless, the first release will be a contemporary
adaptation of the original concept by composer Reinhard Vanbergen (Das Pop,
Rheinzand). When Hans Kusters heard some music of Reinhard Vanbergen on the
radio, he started dreaming of a new chapter. When asking Reinhard if he would
be interested, Reinhard gladly accepted after finding out that one of the
original composers from the Selection series, Rene Costy, had a very similar
background, being a Belgian violinist and composer. It seemed like a perfect
fit. While respecting the concept of the past, Reinhard tried to give the
record a modern touch, by simulating 10 geometric shapes, using immersive
audio. With headphones on, you can detect the geometric shapes that move
around your head in a little dance of their own. The mix of vintage and
modern synths are an homage to the past while trying to give it something new
and bring the concept into modern times. The new album, Selection 19 -
Geometric Shapes opens the door to a new special radio and TV-records series,
to continue in the same spirit from the past, but with an eye for the future |

The Monument team is glad and proud to announce the very first
release of its upcoming record label: Prologue EP. The four-tracker opening
EP will introduce some of the different moods that the label will explore in
the future, through a careful selection of tracks from four artists who are
deeply connected to our community. Opening things up with a blissful emerging
ambient stroll by Shoal, the records' A-side will then offer a highly organic

Elusive
UK producer Kilig brings a six-track EP spanning the British sound palette -
forward, complex, with inflections of jungle and garage - to the new Shall
Not Fade Classic Cuts imprint. Off the back of releases for Scuffed and
Origins in 2020, kilig pairs their intimate knowledge of London's rave scene
with more minimalist tinges for What My Mind Needs EP, a simmering club
record soaked deep in ambience. Taking sombre organic vocal samples and
delicately placing them over a sharp two-step rhythm, opening track
"Closer" is intangible, fantasy-like - the memory of music in your
ears after you've left the club. There are echoes of Burial's seminal Untrue
across the EP. Kilig aptly reflects the certain melancholy of British club
music in the gritty "Overthinking" and mournful "Without
You", an ensemble of distorted vocals and dramatic droning synth. The
rest of the record pushes into a more euphoric atmosphere - the title track
is a soaring rave number while "Clocking In", a wild beast of a
track, glitches and confuses |

After
her theatre production Püwawau and an album and tour with Distance, Light
& Sky (with Chris Eckman from the Walkabouts and her partner Eric
Thielemans) Chantal Acda took some time off to search in her soul for
inspiration for her 4th solo-album. While Chantal’s three previous solo
albums were immaculately produced by two luminaries of the so-called
“post-classical” scene (Nils Frahm, Peter Broderick and Phill Brown
respectively), “Saturday Moon” is a more feral child and is all the stronger
for it. Caution is thrown to the wind and the emphasis is now on instinct and
what is discovered from the get-your-hands-dirty process of just doing
things. This time she decided to produce the album herself to start with a
clair vision: one microphone, one voice. But then she started connecting and
reconnecting with people who she really loved musically. With nobody
producing and telling her to stop. The recording became a celebration of a
part of her that is quite chaotic and impulsive. For example for first song
and title track “Saturday Moon” drummer Eric Thielemans supple groove sets up
Congolese guitarist Rodriguez Vangama’s gorgeous soukous flourishes which
sets up the Puwawau singers’s (a dutch classical choir) soaring vocalizations
on the refrain. It is a free spirited mix of things, that maintains an
elegant coherence because of Chantal’s always assured songwriting, arranging
and vocal presence |

Records comes back strongly in 2020 with a release from one of the most
interesting names in the Romanian underground. Macarie’s rise in the last
couple of years has been fast and impressing, having played alongside
important names like Priku or Cesar Merveille. He makes his debut on Vivus in
style. Merluciu, the first track, doesn’t mess around. Its starts off heavy
with all the eclectic elements coming togheter in a lovely sync, one by one.
A little acid touch here, some edgy bass lines there and the result is one
piece of music that keeps adding elements as it moves on. The acid vibe kicks
it up a notch on the second track, Shure. It begins calmly, but again,
Macarie adds layer of layer making for a complex sound that will immerse you
in its cosmic journey. We take a swift left turn with the last one here. Trip
Chop is truly something else. A deep, chill acid journey perfect for some
lazy & sunny after hours at an outdoor party, in the middle of the
summer. This is the kind of music that stimulates your imagination |

Volume 1 is a compilation of electronic bedroom music made by contemporary
artists that belong to similar sonic spheres, to be released in LIO Press, a
new label based in Barcelona founded by Alicia Carrera. The A side feels like
a holiday in an exotic landscape; the kind of place you don't want to leave.
The B side then goes in a slightly deeper meditative direction, but not too
far, since the sparking disco-infused psych exploration of 'Space Surfari'
will hold you back from falling into the void of the unconscious. What comes
next is the sound that would welcome a moonlit night sky. The C side slinks
into a minimal synth oriented exploration, ending with the intergalactic
hopeful drift of 'Har'. The last side will provide a comfortable seat on this
hypnotic journey. 'Ete 2017' is an ode to the late summer nights, a
mind-driving loop carried by gentle percussive sounds, filled with some bass
deepness. The next tracks are the the right balance between a hug and a
breeze of fresh air for your mind and soul. At this point you might find
yourself wondering if it's a good idea to open your eyes or just keep them
closed for a bit longer and thoroughly enjoy all of the details of this

from Berne, Switzerland. Lead by Maryanne Shewolf, she and her small wolf
pack Fabu and Mige are creating and functioning out of Zaffaraya, an
alternative trailer park in the middle of Switzerland-s capital Berne, which
definitely makes them outsiders in their own country. It's a living and
creating on the edge that could anytime be stopped by the police so you have
to live every day as it comes. Unpredictable and free/ just as the Honshu
Wolves- music. Maryanne Shewolf became a mother in a very early stage of her
life, which left no space for drug escapades. So she built her spaced out
world upon her music. ,I immerse myself and put myself on a trip and forget
everything around me. And when it hits me right, I know that it will affect
others too,@ she says. She creates her music inspired by live shows of
Spiritualized, Make Up, Alan Vega, Royal Trux or her longtime partner's band
Roy & the Devil's Motorcycle. She also gets her inspiration from PJ
Harvey, The Staple Singers, Solki, Nina Simone or Jessie Mae Hemphill whom
she admires all because they sing the blues and tell stories from the point

Evolution',
made in collaboration with Cosmic Boys, opens the release, featuring UMEK’s
trademark groove with pulsating synths and rolling percussion. Drawing you in
with alluring vocals and hints of euphoria, it’s the perfect blend of dark
and light as the shadowy atmosphere is both dark and intense. 'Vigilance'
starts out with the thump of a hard hitting kick drum shrouded by bursts of
atmospheric textures. Slowly emerging is the plucked lead synth to lift the
mood, whilst in the breakdown the bassline lurches forward to provide stomach
churning tension. Reaching its peak just before the percussion slams back in,
it unleashes the full fury of an immense drop. 'Predator' is a high-paced
monster that prowls the dance floor looking for fresh meat. With a throbbing
bass line and stabbing lead synth, it builds towards the suspense of the main
breakdown before unleashing the full force of its ferocity. 'Intricately'
kick starts with its throbbing sub bass and titanic groove cemented by an
explosive kick drum |

Dark
Entries reunites with longtime idols Xymox, also known as Clan of Xymox, to
reissue their Peel Sessions. Xymox was founded in Nijmegen, Netherlands in
1983 by Ronny Moorings and Anka Wolbert, who were joined shortly by Frank
Weyzig and Pieter Nooten. Melding the synthesizer-driven experiments of
post-punk and New Wave with the doom-laden atmospherics of the burgeoning
goth rock scene, Xymox were one of the key progenitors of dark wave. The
success of their 1983 debut EP, Subsequent Pleasures (reissued by Dark
Entries in 2014) paved the way for a string of epochal releases on 4AD, where
they honed their lush, despairing sound. Following their 1985 debut LP, Clan
of Xymox, DJ and tastemaker John Peel invited them to BBC studios to record
for his Radio 1 show. These recordings were released in 2001 via the Strange
Fruit label on CD and are now available here for the first time on vinyl and
digital formats. Side A of Peel Sessions was recorded on June 4, 1985 at
Maida Vale 5. Ronny and Anka recount facing anxiety and technical
difficulties that day, with their complicated MIDI routing and a necessary
plug conversion eating into their scant studio time |

Wie
Wannes Cappelle zegt, zegt Het Zesde Metaal. Met uitzondering welteverstaan
van de Belgische pianist Nicolas Callot. Die begon spontaan aan Franz
Schubert te denken, toen hij Cappelle enkele jaren geleden bezig hoorde. De
pianist stelde aan Cappelle voor om samen in de ruim zeshonderd liederen van
Schubert te duiken. Die vond dat wel een aantrekkelijk idee, maar het zou
uiteindelijk tot vorig jaar duren voor de twee er effectief werk van maakten.
Het opzet was simpel: Nicolas Callot zou enkele liederen uit het repertoire
van Schubert selecteren en Wannes Cappelle zou daarvan de teksten -
geschreven door Duitse dichters als Goethe - vertalen in het West-Vlaams.
'Deze plaat' heet Kom, benevelt mie! En Nicolas Callot overdrijft niet
wanneer hij zegt dat ze klinkt alsof je met de twee muzikanten in dezelfde
ruimte zit. In tegenstelling tot bij popmuziek, waarbij de stem van dichtbij
wordt opgenomen en er achteraf nog effecten op worden gezet, wordt bij
klassiek het geluid in de ruimte opgenomen. Zonder effecten. Voor wie Het
Zesde Metaal gewoon is, zal dat rauw klinken, ja. Dat Cappelle daardoor
breekbaarder en kwetsbaarder dan ooit tevoren klinkt, vindt Nicolas Callot
juist het mooie aan de plaat. "Los van het feit dat die kwetsbaarheid
ook in de muziek zit, krijg je daardoor als luisteraar het gevoel dat je iets
beleeft. Een gevoel dat mensen ook tweehonderd jaar geleden moeten hebben
ervaren, toen ze in een kamer bij Schubert rond de piano zaten. Ik hou niet
van muziek als behang, en ik denk dat we gerust kunnen stellen dat Kom,
benevelt mie! allesbehalve een album is dat in de achtergrond dreigt te
verdwijnen." |

Pera
Sta Ori is the pseudonym of greek sound artist and producer, George
Kontogiannidis. Professing a futuristic style, his music blends senses from
DnB, IDM and bleep. Bursting into the general consciousness back in 2017,
time has only seen this promising artist grow with releases on brokntoys,
Furthur Electronix and Yellow Machines. He now readies his next EP with us at
MUSAR, titled 'IMMI'. Short for 'Immigrant', 'IMMI' EP is dedicated to
uprooted people. Within, Pera Sta Ori explores an imaginary world in which
misery is erased from memory. Projecting into vast expanses, each track forms
an echo chamber. From the urgent and frenetic vocals of 'SCATTER 0^', layered
with crunching percussion and swarming bass, to the ambience of
'Bouncing/Lassitude' and downtempo quirks of 'CIN1', Pera Sta Ori provides a
variance of headscapes to slip into. Chilean celestial spark Kamila Govorcin
creates her own world on the remix of 'CIN1'. Jagged percussion ripple and
ricochet with near-industrial inflections. Peppered with openings of
etherealism, the samples of the original glide whilst Govorcin keeps things
driving with four-to-thefloor punches |

The
Brussels based trio Don Kapot released their first EP on Mr. Nakayasi Records
in 2018. They recently teamed up with the Belgian jazz / not jazz label
W.E.R.F. records, with whom they released a limited edition cassette
"Don Kaset" in October 2020. On March 26th they proudly present the
release of a new full album: Hooligan. The album contains seven collectively
written songs and takes the listener on an adventurous instrumental journey
full of steaming grooves, unbridled joy in the game and humour. The album can
be heard as a completely unhinged and idiosyncratic mix of punk, jazz,
afrobeat and all this with a hint of spirituality. After playing and touring
together in Oghene Kologbo's band for a while, drummer Jacob Warmenbol and
bassist Giotis Damianidis decided to join forces with baritone saxophonist
Viktor Perdieus and Don Kapot was born in 2016. From joint improvisations,
own compositions quickly emerged which blended the different musical
backgrounds of each band member. It soon became clear that this musical
cocktail would effortlessly break through all genre walls and that Don Kapot
has as much in common with experimental rock bands like Deerhoof or King
Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard as with adventurous jazz trios like those of
Ornette Coleman. Influences from afrobeat, punk and krautrock are some of the
main ingredients of this adventurous trio |

Scottish
producer Gavin Sutherland revives his Other Lands alias with a collection of
tracks that were crafted between 1997 and 2012, and were transferred straight
from the original cassette. "What Year Is It? Who Is The
President?", is Sutherlands' first full offering with PULP. After
multiple remixes for the label (under his Fudge Fingas alias), the release
schedule for the Other Lands guise has picked up in the last few months. This
resurgence of previously unreleased material will add to Sutherland's
elaborate catalog, and confirm that even bits that never saw a release at the
time, are sounding relevant and superbly produced. "What Year Is It? Who
Is The President?" (PULP13) starts with "The Caged Bird",
which is a synth laden, lush sounding cut that is built around a playful bass
sound and beautifully orchestrated chords. The drums are swinging as ever,
and the hypnotic character of the lead is present throughout.
"Kaleidoscope" is a venture into the otherworldly. Deep splashes of
synth and fx come together effortlessly to create an almost meditative state.

Avont
is a music project by Amsterdam based artist Arjan Timmermans The music on
Avont's #1 EP was mainly created with the use of a four-track tape machine,
guitar, hardware synths and a eurorack modular synthesizer. Avont juxtaposes
the element of chance and the glitches that are inherent in the use of tape
loops, with meticulous sound design and synthesizer programming. Genres that
influenced this collection of recordings range from krautrock and noise to
jazz and ambient. This resulted in combining atmospheric tape loops with the
lush Rhodes piano improvisations of Onno Beukenhorst on "Camtas",
while the ambient of "Even" is based on a classic jazz chord
progression. Arjan Timmermans studied music at London's Middlesex University,
has been a successful sound designer for creative brands such as Van Gogh
Museum and Bas Kosters and gained notoriety with new wave and electro infused
solo performances in European clubs in the early 00's. For the music on this
EP, he was equally influenced by electronic acts like Bitchin Bajas, the
krautrock of Harmonia and jazz artists such as Jakob Bro and The Necks |

Next
up for Shall Not Fade's new Killer Cuts series is London-based DJ and label
boss Tom Frankel. The up-and-coming producer has gained attention and respect
for his slick techy house cuts that take from a range of classic house and
UKG sound palettes. He makes his debut on Shall Not Fade with Milestones EP,
six tracks of skippy house that reminisces early 90s raves. The record meshes
modern sounds with nostalgia; "Better Perspective" is a pulsing
laid back house track but with a swerving bassline that gives it edge.
Frankel experiments with the sounds of a warehouse rave in a nod to
dancefloor romance, "Mandy Cuddles" - melding the classic M1 house
piano with searing jungle vocals that cut through the melody like a laser.
Showing the cheekier side of his production, "Slippery Nipple" pays
homage to filter house, a skippy garage bassline bringing it up to date. The
funkiness of this one is unavoidable, making even the most static hips move;
onto "Peak District", a throbbing 90s style roller to keep the pace
going. The two final tracks dabble in the darker end of Frankel's sound
palette |
