all-star compilation for you! First up is Patrick Siech, a core member of the

cutting-edge labels. To celebrate its 25th anniversary are a series of releases
from Ruskin and other featured artists. The first of these is James Ruskin's
latest solo EP, 'Shortcut', which features three typically sublime Techno
cuts from the driving title track, via the deeper rhythms of 'Hang Up' to the

into our very core. It exists on a prism, and the range is infinite, for
anyone to think they've heard everything would be imprudent. Inspiration
strikes in a myriad of waves, acting as a cascading waterfall in which each
idea is a droplet converging into one stream. Music doesn't know the rigid
constraints of exclusivity. Preferences and ideologies can mould an
individual; circumstance and fleeting moments require different melodies
throughout the part being played by each being in the cosmos. As each moment
calls for an explicit sound, so too does Axis with it's latest release from
the heterogeneous Raffaele Attanasio. The multifaceted Italian has delivered
an eclectic sound over the years, from devious techno to melodious rhythmic
beats. Attanasio delivers a jazz-tinged, angular, progressive and championing
album by coalescing influential factors: a musician father, a multifarious
palate in music, and prowess as a multi-instrumentalist. Nuovo Futuro is
creating a new future by travelling to the past. Digging into the Zeitgeist
of Naples post-second world war, Attanasio extrapolates the sound to present
day, combining modern flair with an enriched sound. The influence of American
blues and jazz is felt in his hometown, celebrating the lore of Neapolitan
musicians through the track 'Parlesia' |

Wave Acid Punx' is a 38 track journey across nearly 40 years of dark club
music compiled and curated by Berlin-based Musician and DJ, Luca Venezia aka
Curses. Inviting friends with a like-minded affection for an 80s rooted
sound, and diving deep into his record collection, Curses has put together a
three CD/double vinyl set that takes us from music by Colourbox and Suicide
to EBM pioneers, Front 242 through to recent club hits from Zombies in Miami,
and 12 brand new, totally exclusive tracks from the likes of Shubostar,
Chinaski, and Curses himself. Exploring the darker side of club music, 'Next
Wave Acid Punx' traces decades of a musical passion and joins the dots
between the EBM, New Beat, Italo and Acid House tracks of the 1980s to
present music of today. "Putting together a compilation like this is a
strange experience. I've never been one to stay still too long. Whether as a
musician, DJ, or producer I'd never wanted to tie myself down to one scene or
one sound, always looking to move on before I'd maybe run a project
completely dry. With an album you create a snapshot of who you are during
that time in life, with a DJ set maybe just that night, but this felt more
like trying to sum up a lifetime of musical experiences. A bit daunting! But
in putting this comp together I did find a path that led from listening to
FRONT 242 and Ministry cassettes in my bedroom when I was just 11, through to
the music I make and play today. What links these tracks together, is an
attitude. It's one I've been drawn to since I was a teenager, playing in punk
bands, skateboarding in NYC, hanging out at CBGBs, and following Sonic Youth
around, to eventually raving every weekend at underground drum & bass and
electro nights. As a teenager I'd dig through the bargain bins at shops like
Vinyl Mania and Bleecker Bob's where you'd find all these Freestyle, Italo
and New Beat records. Straight away I zoned in on the "Dub" and
"Extended Dance Mix" versions where the focus was on the drums and
I could hear a link to bands I'd loved years before. The first part takes
early tracks from bands who came directly out of the punk and new wave
scenes, that played a major role in forming my musical taste |

and raised in California, Tin Man started releasing records in 2004 and
established his reputation as a solid techno producer, with impactful
releases on labels such as Acid Test, Killekill, and Pomelo. Foreign Material
has a Conservatoire and History background, which shaped his interest in dark
atmospheres and techno music. His spirit of techno is a mix of ancient myths
and futuristic visions. He is known for his releases on Curle, Norite and
Supercinema. Together they deliver a multi-faceted collaboration with 3
original tracks that provide a lush, hypnotic, mysterious, yet enticing
voyage that spans across the functional and mental spectrum. The narration is
intense, at traits metaphysical and dramatic, and always evocative. From a
technical perspective, the artists provide an interesting blend of monophonic

town of Kitakyushu by childhood sweethearts Fifi and Nolly, Ramones fans that
loved The Stooges and The Pistols. When guitarist Tsukasa joined, Fifi
dropped out to raise a baby, but re-joined in 1989, leading to their signing

Restive
Plaggona recently released a brand new studio effort - a full-length album
featuring 10 original tracks and a remix from Ancestral Voices, with a dark
and melancholic twist, as the title of the project might imply. Connected by
a commonality of despair, nostalgia and desolation, Restive Plaggona elevated
these elements into its maturity. At its core, each track has a soul-stirring
significance, and is embalmed by titles that fringes on a political
dimension. Opening number "Intimacy is Violence" does a remarkable
job capturing the vibe of the album, serving as a great introduction. The
track has a very industrial tone, with a strong cinematic feel to it. The
following track, "Rote Zora," follows suit with a more percussive and
colorful arrangement, with a more substantial focus on rhythmic patterns.
"Cut Off From Modern Society" its combination of dark atmospheres,
lush melodies, and glitchy beats. "Sudden Burst of Safety" is
another excellent track worth mentioning, due to its stadium-sized drums and
saturated sounds, adding an aggressive feel to the music. All in all, the
album is a real sonic journey, begging to be enjoyed from start to finish!
Set for release in both physical and digital formats on December 15th,
Silently Hopelessly marks Restive Plaggona's first LP for Swiss-based record
company Threnes (which takes its name from the Greek word for funeral lament)
and are a label dedicated to the release of tenebrous electronica and techno |

facsimile artwork and remastered sound. The Brazilian pianist and founder
member of Tamba Trio is accompanied here by a large group of top-notch
Brazilian musicians including Joyce, Nana Vasdoncelos, Wilson Simonal and
Claudio Roditi delivering an outstanding mix of energetic arrangements and
delicate vocal harmonies. A samba jazz masterpiece. Exclusive RSD 2020
release. DESCRIPTION Tamba Trio (Helcio Milito, Bebeto Castilho and Luiz Eça)
released their first LP in 1962 and quickly became one of the most popular
bossa jazz combos out of Brazil. By the mid 60s the band would expand
becoming Tamba 4 and Luiz Eça would record his first albums as a leader.
Trained as a classical pianist, Eça's style was a mix of jazz and pop then
blended into bossa resulting in a fresh and unique sound that evolved over
the years towards an even more eclectic blend. "La Nueva Onda del
Brasil" was recorded in 1970 by Luiz Eça accompanied here by " La
Familia Sagrada", a large group of top-notch Brazilian musicians
including Joyce, Nana Vasdoncelos, Zeca do Trombone, Mauricio Maestro,
Claudio Roditi_ even Wilson Simonal joins the group on Jorge Ben's 'Pais
Tropical'. The album was released years later on the tiny Mexican label RVV,
run by Rogelio Villareal, also home to the very rare LPs by Primo Quinteto or
Rozana in a similar vein. Villareal was the owner of the Camino Real hotels
group and the RVV records were exclusively available for sale at the hotels
premises, as souvenirs for visitors. The band spent some periods of time
touring Mexico, performing at different Camino Real locations. The album
distribution was very limited and never got a local release in their native Brazil
(or anywhere else) making this LP a very sought-after record that has reached
cult status among Brazilian music collectors Worldwide |

track Druk op een Knop is part built up by samples taken from an obscure
gaming device for small children. The result is a bizarre and spooky track,
loosely held together by a messy Roland melody. Geel Acidvarken's excellent
contribution is one to listen to again and again and reminds a little of
Plastikman's Consumed project; lots of dreamy reverb effects on the warm
bleeps with persistent snares and rattling rim shots added to the spaciness.
Piepiep's System 100 is a brilliant funky beast, hectic and crystal clear at
once with lots happening yet a dedicated focus on the floor. A very strong
12" and a big tip! |

'To
celebrate the fifteenth release of the ÆX series the Amsterdam label presents
a special collaboration with Delsin Records. ÆX started back in 2017 as a
white-label offshoot from the Indigo Aera imprint, Jasper Wolff and Maarten
Mittendorff had a plan to create a platform with a mix of like-minded
unknown, well-known and admired artists. This no-nonsense approach with
stamped white labels and uncredited tracks quickly grew up to be one of their
most committed projects to date. Four years later and fourteen releases in,
ÆX015 is a special split EP in collaboration with the closely related Delsin
Records. Both labels invited three names to present a fresh and dancefloor
focussed pack of grooves and moods. On ÆX's a-side, three familiar faces
Taupe, Emeline (also known as the Parisian artist Molly) and label curator
Jasper Wolff bring their warm, acidic, bass-heavy grooves in typical fashion.
The b-side comes from Delsin who introduces three new artists to the team.

At only 19 years old, French
producer THEOS says that last year he decided to dedicate his life to music.
Now he has scored his first vinyl EP, continuing Shall Not Fade's new Killer
Cuts series that focuses on no-filler dancefloor oriented house music. There's
more than a touch of French to the funky groove of We Miss The Crowd,
featuring collabs from Denyl Brook, Cosmonection and Romeo Louisa. Opening
out the record, "Lie Machine" is a delicious warm-up for what is to
come. The unstoppable bassline and disco guitar samples get your hips moving
while vocal snatches get into your head and won't get out. The title track's
sultry groove is similarly catchy, with the pulsing kick and deep bass melody
evoking a nod to the deep tech sound of UK house music but panning synths
adding that filter house edge, sweeping the listener on to "Keep
Creating Your World". The hard pulse of this track is balanced with

modern classic tracks by Swedish organist Eric Malmberg. Originally released
in 2007 by the label Häpna on Malmberg's second solo album "Verklighet
& Beat", the pair of tunes herein serve as proof of Malmberg's
remarkable artistic vision, echoing both the pure pastoral beauty and the
irresistible groove of his work. This release, part of the ongoing 7"
series by We Jazz Records, follows the label's Artistic Director Matti

"1959" is a concept
album dedicated to my father. The main theme is based on my particular
perception of travel and movement, which are both narrated with similar
electronic sounds and different at the same time. The double vinyl edition is
divided in 4 sides entitled "Moon", "Flight",
"Space" and "Land". The vocals of some tracks, such as
"The Aircraft", were made with fragments of vocal announcements
recorded in the airports during my tour. The plane, already featured in the
cover of the single extract "Lux", is interpreted as a mysterious
vehicle that travels in space-time. The album cover instead portrays my
father's motorcycle, as if it were suspended in the sky during the transition
from night to day, which in this case symbolizes the transition from the
noise of earthly life to the stillness of eternity. In this new work of mine
I found my Synth-pop, Electro and Ambient influences, combined with rhythms

More fun. That was the starting point and the idea of 'Bakunawa': the album
Pak Yan Lau recorded with her freshly started ensemble, consisting of the
marvellous musicians Vera Cavallin, Giovanni Di Domenico, João Lobo and
Mathieu Calleja. On 'Bakunawa' Pak Yan and her ensemble are delving and
digging deep into the sound spectrum of detuned toy piano's, second hand gong
rods, prepared harp, metal tubes and U ring modulators. Instruments were
searched, collected and bought worldwide: on Japanese street markets, in
second hand stores in Brussels, from dedicated American Ebay-sellers and the
cellar of the Musica centre in Neerpelt. The result is a record split up in
two compositions of 20 minutes: on part I the Bakunawa ensemble let the
overtones of the gong rods, prepared harp and metal tubes slowly resonate
into a deep listening ambient state of mind. Rich harmonic textures of rather
