century, but especially for many born in the 60's, 70's and 80's, the year
that was surrounded with an aura of "the Future" and which became
symbol of the new and unknown things that life has in store, the starting
year of a new transgression period in both scientific, cultural and spiritual
evolution. In that year Transllusion recorded music in the Dimensional Waves
Productions studio of which till date two known productions saw a release:
"The opening of the Cerebral Gate" and shortly after that the
mysterious "L.I.F.E." album on Rephlex. More than 15 years later,
an unknown wave resurfaced, washing up an incomparable emotional state of
electronic depth. Music from the Future rooted in an underwater Afro-futurist
realm and the grandiose cosmological truths. This time rushing over us in a
much more personal, reflective and more introspective way, yet leaving behind
sonic confusion |

In the early 1970s, the
journalist and composer Walter Bachauer played with experimental fusion group
Between, and after founding the Meta Music Festival, began working for RIAS
Berlin. 1981's Luna Africana was the first electronic album he issued as Clara
Mondshine, produced by early Tangerine Dreamer, Klaus Schulze, it's
delightfully lo-fi analogue with a very Berlin feel, the 'motorik' style most
evident on tracks like andung Bei Vollmond (Landing On The Moon),' while
'Raga Des Aufgehenden Planeten (Raga Of The Rising Planet)' and mazonenharfe
(Harp Of The Amazons)' add world music elements to the skeletal electronics.
Fans of Kraftwerk, Cluster and the Eno&Harmonia collaborations need to
get stuck into this obscure gem, a killer piece of Krautrock's emerging
electronic puzzle |

happy to welcome a new face to the label. KMYLE, like many of his fellow
French artists who contributed to Break New Soil before - comes up with an
amazingly unique EP! His four original tracks sit comfortably between hypnotic
and raw Techno and play with ethereal atmospheres on top of that. Especially
„Hematom“ is what we would call a perfect Techno track - stripped down yet
totally capturing and mesmerizing through the menacing melody line.
"Dephn" calls the dancer in us even more! And then there is
„Routine“ and „Rise“ - both perfect examples for Sam´s exceptional talent for
creating lush athmospheres through melody. And well, then we included a

Label founder Ramona Yacef teams up with the long-established artists
Triptease, Topper and Luminér to offer a deep release narrating a story
through a musical journey. Available exclusively on vinyl, the EP opens with
‘Visconte’, where the iconic group Triptease (Visionquest) blends an
uninterrupted flow of harmonic atmospheres that brilliantly interweave
together. Up next, the duo Luminér (Body Parts) expands the sounds with
‘Write Me A Love Letter’, and drops a range of deep emotional beats. On the

Syrossian, cues up a pair of scintillating tracks for Ben Rau’s META imprint,
expertly showing his credentials when it comes to delivering effective club
cuts. An ever-present DJ and producer on the circuit for many years, Syrossian
has built up an enviable catalogue of music for labels such as 8bit, Hot
Creations, Robsoul, amongst others. He runs the successful Moxy Muzik
imprint, which racks up high vinyl sales and top Beatport chart positions,
and also has a release for Crosstown Rebels dropping in the coming months. As
a DJ, the Tehran-born artist needs little introduction, suffice to say that
he’s clocked up thousands of gigs and parties around the world, and in
particular making Ibiza a regular mainstay in his annual diary. The
shimmering synth intro ‘La Tribu’ succumbs to a slammin’ and swinging four to
the floor beat, as Syrossian teases vocal chops and deft organ stabs,
building up the energy levels with some spanking hand claps and an infectious

Robert Ponger is perhaps best
known as the producer for Austria’s biggest pop sensation Falco. His
unparalleled production skills are on full display in the iconic hit single
“Der Kommissar”, and he is also the main man behind Falco’s legendary early
albums “Einzelhaft” and “Junge Römer”. But Ponger deserves at least as much
credit for his solo recordings. The most sought-after of these is Ponger’s
1979 self-titled LP, which Edition Hawara is honoured to re-issue. The album
contains twelve disco-inspired pieces that are unabashedly playful, but also
signal serious musical knowledge and finesse. Recorded in the vicinity of
Mistelbach, a village even locals struggle to find on a map, Ponger’s LP
breathes the vibe of Studio 54 – with the little special extra that only
Mistelbach can add. A true Austrian classic |

Nigh/T\mare's
most recent EP, entitled "Hypnagogia" on Threnes Records, is the
perfect example of the artist's uncompromising attitude. The integral work on
this project is the perfect sublimation of experimental overtones, rugged
beats, and techno punch, making for a candid, outstanding, and diverse
approach with a lot of edge. The opening track, "Inside Me",
perfectly encapsulates the dark, melancholic atmosphere and the robust
dynamism we find throughout the EP. Operating a more technoid and ethereal
approach on "Without Believing", Nigh/T\mare successfully
communicates his urge to express his dystopian feelings of loneliness and
despair. The journey continues with "Deflagration of Hell", which
comes as a daring lamentation from deep inside the darkness. Killawatt's
rework on this one heads off a bit of the original and discharges its
emotional intensity by offering a new audaciously powerful dynamic. Finally,
"Despite Everything" keeps the perfectly balanced feel of the EP;
it offers a subtle touch of dreaming and a hidden optimism. The digital
edition includes an exclusive track and a longer version of Killawatt's

"Verdigris"
the new EP from Japanese artist Atsushi Izumi, is a deep dive into the
crevice of the mind. It is an exploration of where fearful emotions lie and
confronting them. It is only through this conflict that light can shine
through in the end. The Osaka native has a background in music and sound
design and as such found his sound going through a metamorphosis from Drum n
Bass to a more experimental sound. His EP "Snow" was released under
the subtract imprint last year and saw the initial phase of this
transformation. It was followed up by "Lansing / Mistrust" via The
Collection Artaud, which continued his growth of using slowed out heavy
percussions surrounded by frantic synths and modulations. Atsushi Izumi's use
of long drawn out hallow synths is like an ominous cemetery at night before
these powerful percussions detonate in. He uses heavy spaced out bass drums,
either as a single or double beat, which simmer as they echo and roll. They
are surrounded by these chaotic, textured synths, which can sound like a
cicada, hovering and distorted to give a mechanical effect. It feels like
being thrown into the woods late at night, eerie yet calm in the beginning,
before extreme panic sets in and you feel like you're being chased |

early versions of the song were actually much slower than this finished
version, but they seemed a touch maudlin and solemn, so we decided to rock it
up a bit and this worked well, adding a little defiance and celebration to
the song , we are hopeful that it will be released as a single in the not too

"Un Tentativo
Sentimentale" is the first film by the novelist Pasquale Festa
Campanile, written and directed together with Massimo Franciosa in 1963. The
film fits into the path traced by Michelangelo Antonioni with his
"trilogy of incommunicability" in the early years of the decade,
staging a bourgeois existential drama shot between the Roman districts of
Parioli and Vigna Clara and the beach of Sabaudia. The original soundtrack is
one of the most beautiful and particular among those composed in the 60s by
Maestro Piero Piccioni, who works on rarefied and melancholy jazz atmospheres
dominated by his piano and the trumpet of the immense Nunzio Rotondo, main
soloists flanked by other giants of the Italian jazz scee such as Franco Chiari
(vibraphone), Marcello Boschi (alto sax), Ivan Vandor (tenor sax) and Berto

won't find any of them on here though. The third installment of this sampler
series features well-rounded dance and prance material instead. Four artists,
four hits. Berlin duo Cyrk pay tribute to their favorite Sunday parties with
Italo Blade. Barely hidden by its name, it cuts right through any heart of
stone with aural infatuation and elation. Portraying the best moment in
someone's life after a gig at the infamous Papaya Playa Project, Smallville
records associate Snad, delivers a skippy and irresistible MPC jam that makes
one want to whistle along. The baroque effect and element of Voon's music is
a given. The Italian duo made that clear with Rose in Japan and is able to
repeat the trick with Brando. Like Rondo Veneziano at a rave, it's larger
than life and happily jumping over the inhibition gate of restraint. Finally,
Lukas Lehmann takes the boiling pot off the stove. Juno Cuts A Caper is an
ode to synthesizer number six of the renowned Roland series and a masterclass

Walter
Verdin is the Belgian chameleon changing constantly between different musical
styles and audiovisual art. At the end of the seventies, he released
'Storingen', a Flemish reggae single with some musical friends under the name
of Specimen & The Rizikoos. In 1980 he had a number one hit in Flanders
with 'Er is iets', taken from the album 'Cinema'. In the same year he started
to work as a video director in the studios of the Audiovisual Services at the
KULeuven. At night he experimented with video and sound. For the next 20
years, the studios became the cradle for his video art and musical
experiments. In 1981, before he formed the group Pas De Deux (the Belgian
entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1983), he recorded the demos for two
songs of Lennon's Plastic Ono Band. These songs ended on the B side of their
mini-LP 'Des Tailles'. On this 7" vinyl: the demo versions of 'Cold
Turkey' and 'Instant Karma!'. They are recorded ping-ponging between two
stereo tape recorders. All the instruments were programmed and played by
Walter Verdin without the possibility of mixing or 'picking in'. Adding an
instrument or a voice meant another copy from beginning to end |

“The
Original Eurovisionaries” - Electronic Sound “Belgian synthpop eminences…” –
MOJO This Is Telex is a brand new compilation collecting 14 tracks from the
innovative Belgium trio, covering their career from formation in 1978 up to
the final album in 2006. This compilation includes the hit single Moskow
Diskow as well as their Eurovision Song Contest entry, aptly called
Eurovision. There are also 2 wonderful and previously unreleased tracks
unearthed from the Telex archive, a cover of The Beatles’ Dear Prudence and a
reinterpretation of a Sonny & Cher track called The Beat Goes On/Off. All
the tracks were newly mixed and remastered from the original tapes by band
members Dan Lacksman and Michel Moers, keeping all the tracks in the spirit
of the originals but adding a freshness to them. This compilation sets the
way for a comprehensive reissue campaign of the entire Telex catalogue.

of communications technology, adding a retro-futurist air to their legend.

INFORMATICS
were a post-punk electronic band from Melbourne, Australia formed in 1981.
Michael Trudgeon, Valek Sadovchikoff, Steve Adam and Ramesh Ayyar met in the
experimental sound studio while attending the same art school. Philip
McKellar later joined the band in 1983. Between 1981 and 1985, INFORMATICS
recorded numerous tracks, mainly in a garage, using a four-track tape machine
and any electronic gear they could get their hands on. The band held a
fascination for contemporary visual art and moving images and videos would
accompany their live performances.The production elements in the videos
reflected Informatics’ philosophy on sound composition: the footage was
entirely pirated from television ads, manipulated and then collaged to create
new narratives that reinforced the music. INFORMATICS came to work together
through a shared fascination in electronic music and the capabilities of
analogue synthesizers. In early performances, long before the advent of
samplers, the Informatics used a collection of synthesizers and other
analogue and hand built equipment. These were patched together to create a
unique battery of sounds. Between January and November 1981 INFORMATICS
recorded their debut 4 song “Dezinformatzia” EP but it was not released until
1983 . The track “Proximity Switch”, later renamed “Accidents in Paradise”
became popular in parts of Europe and was re-released in 1985. “Dance To A
Dangerous Beat” collects all 4 songs from the first EP, 2 songs from
compilation appearances as well as 6 unreleased tracks on vinyl for the first
time. Informatics early songs have a brittle, cold, disconnected feel made by
a Roland SH-101, Korg MS-20 and a lot of processed guitar. The later songs
utilize newer technology and ambient, synthesized melodies closer to their

Artefacts is proud to present the debut album of Malaysian born Bangkok based
artist Wanton Witch. Born in an isolated community of Borneo Island in 1993
Wanton Witch is a DJ and producer with a hyper-sensitive connection and
approach to sound through performance. Coming of age in the relative
isolation of island life, it wasn’t until relocating to Bangkok that she was
able to access the different communities of musical genres that she would
later travel between. With an early taste for trap and hip hop, she began
working in the deconstructed club and techno scene where she found her
musical voice, beginning her DJ career in 2018. Wanton is also a cofounder
and original member of Queer underground creative collective ‘Non Non Non’
that has become a Bangkok nightlife staple. Being an “outsider” musician and
producer with no formal training, it was the fortuitous crossing of paths
online that has sparked the creative collaboration between Wanton and label
owner and creative director Lucy. Last year Stroboscopic Artefacts celebrated
ten years established between experimental and dance floor spectres and this
is the first record the label is releasing after one year break, marking the
launch of a new chapter for the imprint. It is with releases like the
eponymous debut album from Wanton Witch and the support given to emerging
artists like her that the imprint continues to forge pathways within the
industry. Featuring 11 tracks, these recordings are the first body of work
from the Bangkok producer, and include many different snapshots of electronic
music genres from IDM and experimental to hardcore and rave, using caustic
electronics to deconstruct traditional track conventions. This collection of
cuts read more as a complete soundscape, like listening to a live set. The
phrenetic jump from genre to genre, the mixing of diverse sound textures and
landscapes reflect Wanton Witch’s own experience navigating a hostile world
as a Queer trans woman in Malaysia. The intense energy with which each track
is cut together reminds the listener of the nostalgia of mixtapes and a time
in life when identity is being constructed. Wanton Witch has created an album
which feels like a reflection of the aggregation that already exists within

Nobu's own words: "In the time when I have much less opportunities to
play dance tracks as a DJ, I imagined the dance floor of the post-pandemic
future, which I know will be filled with positive vibes. This 4-track EP

In 1985 a wondrous album titled
Hemp Is Here was created by the obscure English duo Leven Signs, composed of
Pete Karkut and Maggie Turner. Since then, Hemp Is Here has proven to be a
visionary recording that holds a special place in the ongoing expansion of
experimental music. Through the method of tape collage, an unclassifiable
recording was created that consisted of post-punk and avant-pop sounds,
tribal rhythms and dub and folklore elements. The result was an unpretentious
yet sonically sophisticated endeavour that subconsciously evoked the
twentieth-century avant-gardist and minimalist music traditions. While
maintaining a distinctly original sound, their output still contributed to
local explorations and remained somewhat in line with other genre-dissolving

MOHABITAT,
never ceasing on the producing scene since 2014, has always possessed a
strong melodic element as part of their compositions. This was apparent in
the self-produced ambient album, "Crisalide". After several years
of working as a duo with the visual artist, Hamaranta, Mohabitat has since
been working as a solo artist in order to focus more attention on sound, the
research thereof and the necessity to create a signature. Mohabitat
continuous his sound research through vintage synthesizers, tape echoes and
analogue gear in a new release with 4 tracks composed for clubbing as well as
for listening pleasure. These tracks, in fact, reflect a thread of melodic
house and techno by label Afterlife for Tale of Us but, simultaneously
experiment with compositions influenced by artists such as Jon Hopkins and
Rival Consoles, as well as the recognized sound of the contemporary Berlin
scene. By the use of these instruments, it also seems like a soundtrack for a
Netflix production, such as Stranger Things. Prima Luce was conceived from
the need to take advantage of the opportunity that Lockdown presented |

Two Slovak guys, Filip and Tomas,
half a world apart, connect Prague synthesis through Filip, with melodic
elements that unlock the connection with Miami based Tomas, who feeds in the
Spanish laced, sinuous South American percussion grooves and synth bass
lines. After years of creating concurrently, their blood bond remains strong
through reverberations of rhythmic frequencies. This EP arrives as a purely
underground record in limited edition as proof of their enthusiasm and
heritage to the art of electronic music. The EP features a track with
Sensoreal, the avant-garde mentor and head of the Slovakian electronic music

Here comes the second release
from Dubphone’s new vinyl imprint Seve17een. This time round we welcome
August Artier to the family. The Indigo EP by August delivers two dance floor
driven tracks in the company of two remixes by artists Giorgio Maulini and
label head Dubphone. The 4 track EP brings a variety of sounds from more Deep
house and acid to a deeper raw minimal vibe. There has been some attention
lately in August with key releases on Get Physical, Kindish and his recent
Kisetsu Series with 4 EP’s signed to the legendary RAWAX label. Plus his
Artier Dubs series on Bandcamp focused on a more dubby side of electronic
music. Currently interviewed by DJ Mag España to know a bit more about all
future projects as the future is looking bright for our Australian born
Ibizan based artist. His 10-year running Ibizaglobalradio show, residency at
Ushuaia Tower and the legendary Hostal la Torre Ibiza all play a role to
inspire this artist and his productions |

One
of Belfast's finest exports, EJECA is no stranger to Shall Not Fade.
Initially appearing on the label last year with the infectious
hardcore-tinged Polar Nation EP. This time round EJECA demonstrates his
knowledge of the harder edge of UK dance music with the weighty Sunburst EP,
backed with a killer remix from Cinthie. The pulsing kick of "Stoke
It" is tempting, like the low end frequencies felt echoing out of some
dark Berlin club; paired with dramatic analogue synth effects and old-school
energy, it pushes straight into high stakes rave callback "Faith".
Then closing the A-side is the glimmering electro-disco-beat of "The
Basics". Think early Warp Records meets modern space-age drama. The
title track can be found opening up the B-side; unrelenting blissful arps
allow space for a slow build-up so that the eventual kick-drum catches you
off guard. It swirls towards a cliffhanger drop, forming a beautiful
centrepiece to the record. "Looksee" is the slightly more relaxed
B2, muted low-end bassline and protracted pads giving a well-deserved
breather from previous intensity |

Main
Phase returns for a second full-length EP on Shall Not Fade's hugely
successful sublabel, the bass-oriented Time Is Now. The Copenhagen native is
fresh from an appearance on Danish leftfield label Petrola 80 and can
otherwise be found heading ATW records with another Time Is Now regular,
Interplanetary Criminal. He serves up a tasting menu of the most
quintessential sounds in UKG across Buss It EP. The title track is
understated, sparse but tense using sparing Ragga vox that build to a
crescendo, wobbling over into "Our Style" - expect space age FX
drawn out over mutant inflections in another textbook eyes down cut. Cheeky
bassline garage energy is brought in "Creepin", while teasing
breaks and dirty south hip-hop in the vocals. Looking to the infamous early
years of garage on the B-side, "Freaky" channels those classic
Ghost releases in its sub-heavy intent, spicy snare and catchy vocal hooks.
The EP is closed out with the expansive, gut-wrenching wobbles of "Misdemeanour",
accentuated with a highly intricate two-step rhythm |
