Classic
techno, rave, EBM and acid all colour their grooves. In 2016 Groove Magazine
chose them as "Newcomer of the Year", while they have also released
their "Himmel Und Erde EP" on the mighty Rekids, as well as
remixing the boss's anthemic "Grindhouse" in recent months. Two
years later, the duo now follow up "Die Weisse Rose" - their last
original release on From Another Mind - with four tracks that reflect the
pair's trademark versatility as producers and the sound they play as DJs.
Things open in monstrous fashion with the brilliant "Die Augen Des
Teufels". Built on tightly programmed and unrelenting drums, it has a
hypnotic synth line riding about the scales that locks in your mind while
your feet march to the beat. Frazzled synths and icy hi hats add to the
pressure and ensure this one makes a devastating effect. "Wachter Der
Nacht" is equally forceful, with hammering kick drums and minimal
driving percussion joined by a brain frying acid lead synth line that will
blow up any DJ set. The flip maintains the release's rave-spirit whilst
taking things into a more melodic direction |

We are happy to present here two stunning party tunes from
Central-American artists Lito Barrientos y Su Orquesta (from El Salvador) and
Los Robbins (Honduras) that will please the Latin music collectors as much as
those into the Jamaican genres. Barrientos massive hit from 1965 'Cumbia en
Do Menor' could have resulted of a dream meeting between Glenn Miller and The
Skatalites at the Discos Fuentes studios in Colombia, recalling Jamaican
sounds almost as much as big-band jazz while keeping all the right
ingredients of its Latin essence. Los Robbins' 'Patricia' is an accomplished
rock steady number recorded in Honduras under the influence of the Jamaican
sounds that were making it into the country via the neighboring Belize.
Almost impossible to find in its original issue, its is reissued here on a
7" single for the first time. A new nice addition to our 'Tropical 45s

time has come for Suolo to revisit Aforisme’s shelves. Time passes and the
outputs from the Bucharest-based artist are achieving a league of its own,
with Echilibru EP being another chapter of the artist’s sonic adulthood.
Keeping things simple: two efficient compositions, harmonised layers, out of
sound experiences, all of them under the roof of a distinct and appealing
idea. EP named track - Echilibru - outsets gradually and its elements sink in
the most subtle ways. They don’t go too far from what the usual Suolo would
bring to your ears, yet every piece that comes from him is particular in its
own way. All of them together are just pages of a bigger book. With a bass
that dominant, a lead pad lurking between the low and high, some casual yet
organised whispers, Echilibru epitomises a very danceable melancholy. The
unison of everything mentioned above lets us explore beyond the initially set
limits as more time you spend listening, farther it takes you into the world

Possibly
one of the weirdest experiment in the post-punk realm, Vibing Up the Senile
Man (Part One) is the second studio album by English anti-heroes Alternative
TV, released in March 1979 on small indie label Deptford Fun City. Forget
about the influential 1978 debut "The Image Has Cracked", frontman
Mark Perry is literally leaving the planet in this effort. There are free
jazz influences, (I'd got into the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Sun Ra ..) I'd
moved into this house with an amazing music room - pianos, clarinets, you
name it - and we'd always be picking up stuff from junk shops.' The
description set the pace for a unique performance, not only the afro/american
heritage , traces of the Canterbury school are almost evident as the early
experiment of the BBC Radiophonic workshop. Is it safe to consider
"Vibing up The Senile Man" on the same time-line as Robert Wyatt
"The End Of An Ear" and Throbbing Gristle "20 Jazz Funk
Greats" (Genesis P-Orridge is on board on two tracks, playing assorted
percussion). Judge by yourself and don't be scared |

Records will reissue several installments of the legendary library series 'A
Special Radio ~ TV Record' on vinyl. These were originally released on
Belgian imprint 'Selection Records' between 1976 and 1981. However, Selection
N°20 is a new addition to the series although it originally came out in 1978.
Selection N°20 is the soundtrack to the 1978 Belgian cult movie 'In Kluis',
directed by Jan Gruyaert. On his quest for the perfect soundtrack to
translate the emotions and images shown in his movie, the director found the
ideal partner in Belgian composer, arranger, pianist and keyboardist Koen De
Bruyne (1946 - 1977). De Bruyne recorded the music in Dan Lacksman's (Telex)
studio but tragically passed away a few weeks after the sessions. Hence these
are the last ever compositions by the illustrious Koen De Bruyne, brother of
celebrated singer and songwriter Kris De Bruyne. Koen had his own,
unfortunately short, stint in the field of pop, jazz, fusion and funk in the
1970ies. He rose to the scene as a wanted session and live musician for local
heroes such as Johan Verminnen, Will Tura, Ferre Grignard, Mad Unity, Black
Blood, and his brother Kris. The vinyl reissue of the 'In Kluis' soundtrack
continues the legacy of the Selection Records' series 'A Special Radio ~ TV
Record' and will certainly make the heart of many vinyl lovers skip a beat |

On "APHEXions", the
Brussels pianist with French roots Dorian Dumont - key member of the electro
jazz band ECHT! - is expressing his love for one of his greatest musical
heroes: Aphex Twin. Contrary to what one would expect, there are no electronics
involved in this album, but he carefully transcribes a wide selection of
Richard David James' music to grand piano, giving the songs a whole new
dimension. Rave classics like Polynomial-C and Xtal are being stripped to the
core while on tracks like Nannou, Kesson Daslef or Fingerbibb he stays
truthful to the minimalistic aesthetics from the original tracks. As an
accomplished jazz pianist, he improvises on the various themes and injects it
with a tinge of blues here and there. As a result, this homage record
captures both the simple beauty and the unruly complexity of Aphex Twin. But
above all, it sounds like refreshing new music that immediately puts Dorian
Dumont on the map as a solo pianist! |

apart. Once locked into the throes of Berlin’s ceaseless techno throb and now
back home in Albenga, Italy, Gaia represents the gnarly, noisy extremity of
modern dance music. It’s a desolate, distorted place where blasts of noise
spit in the empty footprints once shaped by snares and hi-hats, and the bass
bleeds out over everything. Listen closely though – the deeper you take
yourself into this forbidding space, the more you can detect the subtleties.
The delicate relief of the harmonic overtones, the brutally managed
modulation. It’s bleak, to be sure, but it’s also beautiful. Huren is the
current guise for David Foster, a Canadian techno vet of high standing thanks
to his role in the seminal Teste project. A true underground lifer, he’s

Adiel
slowly emerged from the Rome underground onto international dancefloors, from
local residencies to renowned festival stages. Following a steady slew of
quality releases for her own label, the Italian producer now signs with
Figure to show just how far she’s gotten. Right out the gate, Adiel proves
her versatility. Method is an intricate, moody stepper, harking back to early
Burial with its grimey atmosphere and skeletal breakbeats, complete with
ghostly vocals and a cascading synth line, which ties it all together.
Showing Adiel’s love for analog drum machines, Mad builds on a dry but lively
pattern, with swelling acid arps slowly creeping in until it all breaks down
in a sea of squelches, only to emerge again with full force. The B-side goes
deep and fast, panning percussion setting the bleak scene for a vividly
arp-driven ride beneath a starry sky. Slowing things down to a half-time
measure, the final composition leaves lots of room for the finely measured
details such as bubbling acid, raw drums, and trippy voices to merge in one
last soothing swirl of sound |

Sophia Nzayisenga is the first female master of the Inanga, a
traditional stringed music instrument, currently a favourite of young Rwandan
musicians. Her father, Thomas Kirusu, one of the most renowned Inanga
players, began to teach Sophia at a very young age. At the tender age of
nine, Nzayisenga started performing at different concerts amidst the great
opposition that was based on her gender and cultural norms: “Many people used
to tell my father to stop me from what I was doing with the argument that I
won’t get married because I was doing a man’s job” she recalls, “thinking
that some particular activities should be done by a particular gender can
block you from your potential. But with today’s gender equality advocacy,
people should know that what a man can do a woman can do. Musical talent runs
in my family, as far back as my maternal and paternal grand fathers.”

Ghekiere introduces his unique sound, which stems from merging modern jazz,
traditional folk and field recordings. Through classical arrangements and a
cinematic approach to composition, Ghekiere tells a story of grief and the

before and after it disappears), searches for resonance through an intuitive

Dee returns to Perc Trax for the release of 'A Low Level Love', his second
full album following on from 'The Residue' released in 2018 by Berlin techno
institution Tresor. Manni opened his Perc Trax account back in 2017 with his
'Throbs Of Discontent' 12" which featured his breakout hit 'London Isn't
England' and since then he's become Perc Trax regular releasing his recent
'Everyone's Replaceable Now' 12" plus his 'Gulabi Gang' contribution to
first of the 'Forever' various artists series. During this time Manni has
gone from a cult UK favourite to being internationally recognised, performing
all around the world. On 'A Low Level Love' Manni expands on both his
previous album and his recent run of Perc Trax releases, mixing his trademark
club techno rhythms with broken beat and non-dance floor outings. 'No More
Heroes' and 'You Don't Always Get What You Want' see Manni at his most
melodic and introspective, whilst the storm of kick drums on 'Closer' shows a
new intensity and aggression to Manni's music even when compared to the
heaviest of his previous releases. Guest slots and collaborations can often
detract from the artistic vision of an album, but Manni chooses his
co-conspirators well, with vocalist Sylph adding a human element to album
opener 'Persist & Change' and London acid techno legend Chris Liberator
providing both vocals and some of the inspiration for club hit in waiting

Manni
Dee returns to Perc Trax for the release of 'A Low Level Love', his second
full album following on from 'The Residue' released in 2018 by Berlin techno
institution Tresor. Manni opened his Perc Trax account back in 2017 with his
'Throbs Of Discontent' 12" which featured his breakout hit 'London Isn't
England' and since then he's become Perc Trax regular releasing his recent
'Everyone's Replaceable Now' 12" plus his 'Gulabi Gang' contribution to
first of the 'Forever' various artists series. During this time Manni has
gone from a cult UK favourite to being internationally recognised, performing
all around the world. On 'A Low Level Love' Manni expands on both his
previous album and his recent run of Perc Trax releases, mixing his trademark
club techno rhythms with broken beat and non-dance floor outings. 'No More
Heroes' and 'You Don't Always Get What You Want' see Manni at his most
melodic and introspective, whilst the storm of kick drums on 'Closer' shows a
new intensity and aggression to Manni's music even when compared to the
heaviest of his previous releases. Guest slots and collaborations can often
detract from the artistic vision of an album, but Manni chooses his
co-conspirators well, with vocalist Sylph adding a human element to album
opener 'Persist & Change' and London acid techno legend Chris Liberator
providing both vocals and some of the inspiration for club hit in waiting

Axodry was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1983 , the founding
members were Talla 2XLC and RaHen aka Ralf Henrich. The first release Feel It
Right was a success (see also Sound of Frankfurt ). RaHen and Talla 2XLC
composed and programmed the debut song in RaHen's home studio . The Westside
label made the final production possible in Axel Henninger's Dynaton Studio.
There RaHen later produced the songs Surrender and The Time Is Right as well
as many other songs and bands for Westside with Axel Henninger . At times
Kurt Ader and Alexander Maurus were part of the band. The Music Hall concert
in Frankfurt am Main took place in this line-up |
