Next
up on Asking for Trouble after selling out the album and re-pressing comes a
four track remix EP for Radioactive Man's Luxury Sky Garden album. Life-time
friend of Radioactive Man and Control Tower partner Dexorcist aka Simon Brown
is first up to deliver his take on 'Sonic Portal' on the A side. His style
has always been uncompromising and as a music lover and DJ he's been a major
influence on Tenniswood's style and taste for a long time. Dexorcist turns in
a Detroit influenced banger which goes deep. Ben Pest then follows with his
own take of the same track. A member of funk band Pest, purveyor of Wonky
Techno, music tech teacher and hardware enthusiast Ben has also released on
Jerome Hill's Don't' Label, I Love Acid and Horror Boogie to name a few. His
take on 'Sonic Portal' is as genre bending and weighted as you'd expect. Over
on the B side Pain Struck Stanley Dumb remix 'Blast Furnace' - a fast and
furious electro track which was released as a digital bonus to the album.
They work it into a breakneck speed techno number. Taste the amphetamine!
Completing the package Biggabush (aka Glyn Bush) brings his dub influence to
the mix. Bush of Rockers Hi-Fi connected with Radioactive Man during a
mastering session asking to do the mix after hearing the record. The results
are impressive and provide a welcome tempo and vibe change to the EP with its
deep and dubby elements |

James Ruskin continues
Blueprint's 25th Anniversary with a new EP collaboration alongside Truncate,
which follows Ruskin's solo outing, 'Shortcut'. L.A.'s Truncate (David
Flores) has made previous significant appearances on Blueprint with his
'Terminal 5 EP' (BP049) in 2017 and 'The Bell EP' (BP055) in 2019, but this
will be the first time he's joined production forces with its label head.
Truncate and Ruskin's EP features three sketches, but don't be fooled by the
EP's title - these are fully rounded slices of techno finery delivered by two
mainstays of the scene and an essential release for your BP collection. Look

Countless
incredible records were made in Kingston between 1968 and 1971 that has never
been able to lose the stigma of being described as Skinhead Reggae but in
Jamaica the term never meant anything. However Bunny Lees Aggro Sounds both
at home and away. They were tougher then tough ,rougher then rough ,kicked
like a bovver boot and were sharper then a razor cut trim. Raw, pure and
undiluted every time...some even troubled the UK national charts.. To say the
man and his music dominated at the time would be a complete understatement.
Striker was everywhere...travelling between Kingston, where he opened his
Agro Sounds record shop at 101 Orange Street and London where he set up his
Unity label with the Palmer Brothers for the exclusive release of his productions
and his Jackpot subsidiaries with both Trojan and Pama records. Ubiquitous
does not start to come into it. We sincerely hope that this compilation helps
to point you in the direction of some of the best music from this often
overlooked period from one of the greatest producers EVER! The Aggro Man

Silat Beksi makes an emphatic
return to the fore of his label Modeight, and this time he's in the
collaborative company of Moscow's finest Swoy. The pair are a match made in
heaven, as they traverse a multitude of sonic destinations on their aptly
titled "Starburst" EP. With their granular approaches to production
well established, the pair take off with the deep undulations of
"Allophone". A groove that bangs beneath a shimmer of silver tones.
"Pro2" continues the journey with it's upbeat bassline swagger, and
raucous key strokes. On the flip side "The Escapist" pours ultra

In 2017, Markus Homm and his
romanian partner in crime Mihai Popoviciu, successfully launched our Still
Hot label with their "Insomnis EP". Followed by his solo releases
"Don't Know Why" and "Pleasure", we are now looking forward
to the Still Hot 20, which features two great original tracks, as well as a
superb Mihai Popoviciu remix. The title track "Once again" is
reminiscent of the hit "Insomnis". A playful arpeggio gives the
track a nice vibe, paired with dub sounds, vocal shreds and a groovy house
bassline a la Homm. Mihai's remix is close to the original, but gives the
track a more aggressive touch. The deep house track “Bora" closes the

Following
the recent collaborative SERWED II and Square Fauna albums on West Mineral
Ltd. and Firecracker Recordings respectively, Flaty is back on his own ANWO
RECORDS with an album titled RAILZ. A year in the making, it's a product of
solitary contemplative pursuit, an exploration of a metaspace where the
varied worlds inherent to Flaty's artistic sensibility coexist, blend and
collide true to the original kinship between electro and hip-hop. The altered
footwork and fine-grained dubstep sonic structures, the freeform soundscapes
and refracted beats, the consistently heavy bass and eventful razor-sharp
high frequencies of the album are all bred, built, mixed and mastered
single-handedly by Flaty who has also designed all the artwork and packaging.
In comparison with the artist's previous productions, the tone is colder, the
approach more detached, while the substance is no less personal and the
experience neither less diverse nor less intense. The artistic, cultural and
technological styles and eras of the last half-century fuse and productively
dissolve in the utopian interferences of the LP. Expect RAILZ to be presented
as the soundtrack to a forthcoming series of ANWO STUDIO collaborative
audiovisual live performances |

Joe Claussell readies the ‘Raw Tones’ LP on Rekids this June. The first LP
since 2008’s ‘Corresponding Echoes’ on his Sacred Rhythm Music, Joaquin Joe
Claussell arrives on Radio Slave’s Rekids for ‘Raw Tones’, a nine-track
excursion through the sound of his exquisitely soulful house music.
Originally released on uber limited cassettes, the music within ‘Raw Tones’
caught the ear of Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, who messaged Claussell, a
friend since remixing Edwards’ Machine project in 2012, and convinced the
legendary producer that the music needed a wider audience and, so, ‘Raw
Tones’ the LP is here. Introspective opening cut ‘Lock Down’ draws for
breathy strings and swirling pads, followed by the hypnotic and low-slung
‘The Blame Game (Table Top Idea)’, which sees jazzy keys float around
carefully crafted dubbed-out ambience and subtle, whispered vocals. ‘Break
Free’ ups the energy, bringing a wonky bassline under decisive, machine-like
drum hits while both spoken and sung vocals interplay throughout. ‘You Mutha
Fuka’ brings rock-solid drums and thick bass underneath delayed vocals before
the dreamy chords and twinkling keys of ‘Way Back Then’ close out the B-side.
The gorgeous ‘Air We Breathe (Revisited Cassette Demo)’ marries rolling percussion
across live bass and softly drawn-out pads, followed by an instrumental
version of ‘Break Free’. The final side of vinyl sees the extended trippiness
of ‘If It's All In Your Mind Let It Out’ lead into the floaty low tempo
closer ‘Hallucinations Ejaculations’. Joaquin Joe Claussell, co-founder of
Body & Soul with Francois Kervorkian and Danny Krivit, continues to run
his Sacred Rhythm Music record label and curate the Cosmic Arts community
centre in his hometown of Brooklyn, NYC |

volume. Rixe appeared from nowhere and went from strength to strength over
the two years since the Debut EP Coup Et Blessures was released in February
2015. The EP was their calling card and harked back to the glory years of
Bologna-s finest Nabat mixed with the classic 80-s French Oi! sound. It was
instant and loved by all and went on to have six pressings. A year later came
Les Nerf A Vif / another four tracker with extra bite and bile. Every track
was perfectly recorded and produced. Lean with snarl and each track a nugget

It Over' by Riley Downing came about whilst his band, New Orleans-based
American group The Deslondes, was on hiatus. Downing went into the studio
with the intention of recording two songs for a 7" but the creative
juices kept flowing and more songs came. 'Start It Over' is rooted in country
and blues and has a whiff of J.J. Cale about it |

with the first track produced with Dyen, nearing hardcore techno with

collaboration between Jacidorex & Epidemie, the second generation of
Belgian Acid scene. This one is an energic hard track, with hard floor kick,

Sau
Poler makes his return to Atomnation with Nocturno, a debut album that finds
him pushing himself beyond his usual confines. The nine immersive,
meticulously crafted tracks arrive in Spring 2021 and come with original
artwork by New York artist Jane Dickson. Sau Poler is part of a so-called
golden generation of Spanish producers alongside the likes of Pional, John
Talabot and Bawrut. He has put out three EPs on this label before landing on
others such as Mule Musiq, Modern Obscure Music and Fort Romeau’s Cin Cin,
where he honed his organic house, techno and ambient fusions. They’re often
bright but obscure, intimate and contemporary, with taut samples and
shuffling beats that manage to be leftfield as well as nostalgic, and have
had support from the likes of Kelly Lee Owens and Dixon. All that also plays
out in his DJ sets which have taken him all over Europe to the likes of DGTL
and Sonar. This new album was recorded between 2018 and 2020 in Poler’s
studio in Badalona. Two years of experimentation, expanding his methods of
composition and moving out of his comfort zone eventually lead to the concept
of Nocturno. It’s an album that draws on those special late night feelings:
introspective sounds, a middle ground between lightness and dark, euphoria
and loneliness. It means the music is often hypnotic and mystic, with
references to the conceptual movies, sonic obscurities and the video games of
his youth. Two pieces of gear were also key to shape that sound: the Roland
JD800 synth and the Roland Chorus Echo-301 tape delay, which help lend the
whole thing a cohesive, immersive feel, with some first ever uses of an
electric guitar and trumpet also adding further colour and emotion |

The
rich sounds of Maloya and Séga music, originating from the Réunion island (as
well as Mauritius and Seychelles for Séga), have recently been brought to the
ears of the Northern hemisphere's music lovers. Hailing from the French Alps,
where Réunion-natives and young "metropolitan" French youngsters
have been sharing parties, food and music for years, Les Pythons De La
Fournaise are a flavoursome electric "Séga" band and they have
already put out a couple of albums over the last decade. This time, they are
interpreting Séga and Maloya songs under the form of a - nearly –
all-acoustic orchestra : "L'Orchestre Du Piton" ! This Long-Player
has got a particular sound and character, starting with a powerful four-woman
choir (often sung in unison, in accordance with the Maloya tradition). The
"lead" is a different singer on almost every song, which brings a
variety of tone and vocal texture to the album. Instead of keys, organ or
synth, Les Pythons went for accordion ; they also brought into the studio an
array of percussion, ranging from classic bongos and bells to typical
instruments of the Indian Ocean : theKayamb, the Pikeur, the Sati and most
notably the Roulèr– the king of them all, majestic barrel-shelled bass drum.
On songs like "Anon Manz Demiel" (Let's go and eat honey), two
crazy electric guitars with intertwined riffs add a fresh element to the
sound – somewhat echoeing with Esquivel's exotica and Congolese rumba at the
same time ! And the most unusual fact on this record : there is no bass
guitar. Perhaps the band had a statement to make; in our modern music culture
where bass plays a central role, they prove that one can move to other sounds
– and appreciate the more organic deepness of percussion |

Since
debuting on Central Processing Unit with 2018's Projections EP, Silicon
Scally has averaged a release a year for the Sheffield label. New offering
Revelations finds the one born Carl Finlow keeping up that hit rate. Both
Finlow's name and his many aliases have become bywords for top-draw electro
productions since he first emerged in the mid-90s, and Revelations is no
different - this is dystopian machine-funk of the highest quality. With its
burbling electro groove, piston-precise drum programming and plethora of
gurgling synths, Revelations' opening title-track comes beamed in direct from
the Dopplereffekt realm. However, as well as being a mid-set weapon of
serious heft, the manner in which Finlow daubs the track with some plaintive
synth chords will also bring just a hint of pathos to the dance. That wistful
edge quickly dissipates when following cut 'Walk Over' homes into view -
ushered in by eerie, paranoid synth work, 'Walk Over' has an air of technoid
ghoulishness to it which invokes John Carpenter sparring with Egyptian Lover.
Revelations' flip is taken up by a pair of remixes that go deep on the A-side

the 10th anniversary of the labels first release 'New Identity' with two new
tracks pressed especially for you on 180g vinyl. Lost in vaults until now
'Panna Cotta' resurfaced in Marco Carola's recent sets off of a CD Mathew
made for friends in 2003. After multiple mails and YouTube links sent from
Marco's fans it spurred Mathew to look into the old collections and find the
masters. The track was untitled so chances of finding it were at first
thought to be slim. As fate would have it though it would be the first out of
hundreds of CD's only labeled '2003 that Mathew picked from the box in his
search. Here at IIWII we believe heavily in synchronicity. These tracks have
found there place in time to be released. To add to the occasion 'New
Identity' will also be released for the first time digitally for those that
didn't get the vinyl years ago |

The
double LP ‘Mamari’ by Muito Kaballa Power Ensemble from Cologne (Germany)
will be released on 28 May on outernational Brussels label Rebel Up Records.
It represents the vast musical development of the Muito Kaballa project since
the release of the first album 'Everything is Broke' in 2019 on German label
Switchstance Recordings. Muito Kaballa, also known as Niklas Mündemann,
started out as a one-man show on the streets and quickly gained attention
through his loopstation performances. After the recording of the first album
Niklas Mündemann wanted to move away from the entertainer image and explore
new musical ideas. When he met musician Jan Janzen, the two instantly decided
to create a band and take the project to the next level. The band now consists
of members Nora Beisel on vocals, André van der Heide on drums, Leonard Gaab
on percusscions, Marie Tjong-Ayong on trumpet and flugelhorn (replaced
recently with Lilli Thomas on trumpet), Till Weise on bass, Benjamin
Schneider on guitar, Tim von Malotki on baritone sax, Jan Janzen on keys and
Niklas Mündemann on tenor sax, flute and synthesizer. The result is a jazz
album that brims with afrobeat, afro-cuban and funk influences and current
activist thoughts on social equality, racial politics, climate change and
more, all through the voices & bodies of this young ensemble. ‘Mamari’ is
the title song and first single. Bass player Till Weise composed the song
about which he says; “When I first wrote Mamari, I wanted to create a song
that I could play alone while singing along to it. Mamari is a song with a
groove heart that moves forward fast and at the same time stumbles. Like
riding a bike with bent wheels or the way how camels move, which is called
the pace gait, or in arabic: Mamari.” ‘Aga Aga’ is named after a lake close
to Cologne called Aggertalsperre |
