folks go missing in inexplicable ways, where ravers throw open air summer
parties in the woods, where the raw nature shows its esoteric side to the
explorative youth, an escape from the city. The inspiration for Ryan James
Ford's debut album is also a tribute to time spent exploring there in his
past! After living in Berlin for some years now he came to realisation of how
much influence nature and the area surrounding his hometown (Calgary) had on
him. Ryan has captured his experiences and musical influences over the years.
Growing up in an area were the contrast of nature and technology was more
than palpable. Stories of haunted areas, swimming in the cold river water,
going to raves in the nineties. Exploration, optimism, youth and growing...
His memories surrounding 'Exshaw' are all translated in the sound design and
programming on this 14 track album ranging from almost cinematic pieces to

vinyl reissue of Arpanet's 2006 electronic masterpiece! Under his real name
Gerald Donald, Arpanet is a man-machine from Detroit fond of science with
multiple identities:Glass Domain, Heinrich Mueller, also part of Drexciya,
and Dopplereffekt. Following Kraftwerk, he became on his turn a real pioneer
of an uncluttered and effective industrial electronic music.In 2006 ARPANET
returned with new LP "Inertial Frame". Linked with both Drexcyia
and Dopplereffekt camps, no one really knows for sure who ARPANET is.
Following on from their mighty "Wireless Internet" on Record Makers
set a couple of years back and 2d "Quantum Transposition" on
Rephlex in 2005, this album for Record makers develops their conceptual
electronic fragmentation into yet another evocative and mysterious strand of
sub-marine electro. Though Inertial Frame serves the usual amount of killer
loops, mysterious percussive treads and midnight melodies, Arpanet returns
here for our greatest joy with BEATS and - please note the issue held in such
an assessment- a whole bunch of fully SUNG tracks. An instantly recognizable
tapestry of Motor City soundscaping updated from the most seminal of
archives, Inertial Frame TALKS the listener into derivative reflections on
quantic physics and pays tribute to the works of 20th century great

Following
the unpublished works of the Ukrainian/Estonian musician Valentina
Goncharova, Volume 2 of Shukai’s archival project sits in direct contrast to
the solo works of Vol. 1. Spending her youth studying classical music first
in Kyiv and then in Leningrad, Valentina began her musical career with
rigorous compositional study and concert violin performance. This long player
of duets as such casts a light on Goncharova’s experiences with early free
jazz, democratic improvisation and introductions to pure electronic sound.
Where Vol. 1 explored her home studio experiments and flirtations with
musique concrete and new age, this volume seeks to give audience to similarly
DIY recordings developed in collaborative environments away from the
conservatoire. Properly documenting sessions revolving around smoky jazz
cafes, art galleries, salons and theatre venues across Riga and Tallinn,
these seven pieces add to the historical narrative of the soviet era
avant-garde and show the broader spectrum of Valentina’s work. We begin in
Riga with an adapted score for a delicately unfolding violin drone, voice and
saxophone performance produced by Valentina and Alexander Aksenov. Describing
the nineties as temporarily narrowing the content of cultural life and thus nullifying
the interest of free improvisation in both Tallinn and Riga, Valetina’s bond
with the multi-instrumentalist and theatre director Aksenov led to decades of
close friendship and several demo recordings such as ‘Reincarnation II’.
Their initial chance meeting at a jam session set in motion various
cross-country performances and experimental theatre works. With its focus on
extended harmony, it is perhaps ‘Reincarnation II’ that most recognisably
follows on from Shukai’s first volume |

is pretty!....and rich. Luckily not only rich in terms of gold, money and
securities, but also in terms of artists. Producers, DJs and labels who
constantly bless us and the world with innovative tracks, moving sets and
professional releases. And once the mix turns cross territorial the
excitement rises. One of these interesting fusions is the latest project of
one of the currently hottest artists Switzerland has; Andri on the label
Sirion Records. The Zurich based Andri has played himself into the hearts of
DJs and party crowds through his many releases on Highgrade and Cityfox. His
live sets are cherished at home and in high demand abroad. Herewith Andri
debuts his artistic collaboration with is companion, Valentino - an equally
established artist of the local scene. Promoting and organizing parties,
DJing and co-owning the cult club Frieda's Büxe, Valentino has sculpted and
influenced the Zurich scene, all the while crossing the cantons and the
countries borders with is work. The style of these two gentlemen's tracks
couldn't be more contemporary. On one hand deep with sturdy house note on the
main track "What You Want", and on the other driving with a pinch
of progressive on "Just Take It" or simple synthesis on "Get
Lost". The lessons Andri gave Valentino, the audible influence of
Valentino on Andri, an exciting symbiosis that fits spot-on to Sirion |

It
is 1960, Rock'n'Roll has just lost a couple of its protagonists during this
and the previous year, the time of the great balladeers has just begun but
soon will run out due to the new and exciting beat invasion. In US mainstream
the tiki culture has reached a certain peak and is about to collapse but
still goes strong and with it comes the so called "exotica" music,
a crossover between smooth jazz and swing, Latin grooves, haunting melodies
that are rooted in the folkloristic sounds from different parts of this world
plus weird sound effects that often create a spooky jungle or dreamy island
beach atmosphere. It can even bend your mind that far you would see palm
trees growing out of your speakers and witness monkeys and parrots having fun
in your room. Eden Ahbez, born in 1908, passed in 1995, a man living an even
more consistent dropout and hippie lifestyle way before the movement was born
in the mid 60s, a beat poet and composer who wrote the hit tune "Nature
boy" that gave Nat King Cole his first big success in 1947, approaches
the field of exotica music from a different point of view creating an epic
concept album about an utopian society living in peace and harmony on an
island far away from the modern western world as we know it. And indeed we
find many trademarks of the prototypical exotica music beginning with this
relaxed groove combining easy listening swing and Latin patterns, peaceful,
dreamy and even transcendental vocal melodies, tinges of folk music from
around the world including powerful dances and a whole color palette of mind
expanding sounds giving the whole music an even greater depth and width |

The two Dutch production
powerhouses Robin Fett and Polar (NL) collide in this heavy rolling Deep Tech
project called “Call to Cancel EP”. During the pandemic, the three producers
sat together and joined hands to create four tracks that resonated with them
deeply in 2020. The big call to cancel came, leaving many of us in the events
and entertainment industry stranded on an island, yet has not stopped these
gentlemen to be creative and create this beautiful EP. From cancelling
evenings with friends to Christmas dinners with families, some of us had to
cancel all of it. With this EP we want to say that hope is not lost yet and

Next
up on the Kyiv-based label comes from a very promising, up-and-coming
Ukrainian artist, Vladimir Gnatenko. Following his live set last year at the
collective's arguably most-loved event, Natura Festival, his debut EP for
Rhythm Buro entitled "Sacrim" is already being awaited with great
anticipation. Vladimir Gnatenko is one of the unsung heroes of the Ukrainian
underground dance music scene today. He is known for his sonically diverse
live sets that range from ambient sketches and 4/4 trancey techno to, most
notably, an apt selection of breakbeats. The latter often includes both more
downtempo style laid back grooves in the 100-bpm range as well as more
massive breaks that serve the dancefloor with purpose. For a few years,
Gnatenko has been a staple of the parties that Kyiv is notorious for, he is a
resident of the world-renowned and prestigious local club, Closer, and has
been featured in the line-ups of local festivals and raves like Strichka,
Brave Factory and Cxema (where he played live for a collaboration with Boiler
Room). Discography-wise he began releasing on local labels like Progressive
Future, but not long after expanded his legacy with vinyl releases on Twig
(Germany), Animals On Psychedelics (UK) and now our beloved Rhythm Buro |

Jack Nitzsche, a close
collaborator of master producer Phil Spector, was an American musician,
arranger and film music composer who worked extensively as keyboard player
with high caliber rock stars like the Rolling Stones and Neil Young, among
others. "The Lonely Surfer" originally released on Reprise records
in 1963 was the first album under his own name. An all instrumental mix of
Surf aesthetic and eclectic orchestral arrangements featuring great West
Coast based studio musicians such as guitarist Tommy Tedesco, drummer Hal
Blaine and pianist Leon Russell. A golden summer classic full of surfing

CiM returns to Delsin with a nine
track LP crafted out of his personal Amiga archives. Simon Walley started off
in the early 90s trying to write Amiga demo scene music. Influenced and
inspired by the blossoming techno electronica sounds in the UK around that
time, he tried to replicate those sounds via old school tracker techniques.
Learning through ripping modules by Romeo Knight, Audiomonster, Firefox and
Mantronix from demo disks, and writing/re-writing in Protracker resulted in a
unique style, creating fresh clashing beats out of tweaked Amiga samples. A
386 PC that drifted in tempo was sync'd by ear to add pads and melodies that
the MIDI-less Amiga couldn't generate. Recording most of it on the fly,
fooling around in Protracker and leaving all mistakes in and un-edited. All
tracks written between '96-98 |

The Shadracks are a three/piece
rock n- roll group hailing from Medway, Kent, with Babylonian
overtones.Drawing lyrics from the forgetfulness and lost hope the group aims
to play 40 years in the past, but with modern precision. The origins of the
group date back over 6 months when Huddie Shadrack and Ellisa Abednego had a
brief encounter in deserted park land. With a sheared an interest in
incompetent punk and beat music it became paramount that they form a group,

A
pure shot of abrasive punk/rock'n'roll with a hint of working class Oi!,
Blitz were among the most influential punk bands ever. It was Gary Bushell
(who wrote for Sounds magazine and was later dubbed the Godfather of Oi!) who
brought the band to the attention of his friend Chris Berry, who had just set
up No Future records with a bank loan and high hopes. No Future 001 catalog
(and Blitz's debut release) was a 4 track EP titled 'All Out Attack', a
20.000 copy bestseller that made the label's fortune, later to become the
most representative of the whole UK82 movement. Its follow-up, 'Never
Surrender', reached number 2 in the Indie charts, while their 3rd EP,
'Warriors', showed their slight move towards the sing-a-long-style of classic
Oi!. Before shifting to a more new wave-influenced vein right by the end of
1983, they managed to reach number 2 in the charts with a fourth and last
'punk' single, 'New Age'. This complete 1980-1983 retrospective features all
four aforementioned singles along with their very first recording session
from 1980, the legendary 'Timebomb' demos, and 4 cuts from the 'Voice Of A
Generation' demos! |

Ciani's advertising portfolio that, when taken out of context, could be something
crafted at the hand of modern composers such as James Ferraro, Ford &
Lopatin, College, Kavinsky etc. Here these strange advert jingles and synth
experiments take on a life of their own presenting an alternative world where
muzak, advertising jingles and pseudo-80's soundtrack music is basically a
valid and awesome creative outlet, which, in my opinion it is when done this

elements and more. "Hauling Ass" is a distinctive track, which is
one of the highlights on this release, due to its minimalism and old-school
textures. The warmth of the glitchy sonics in the background, as well as the
warped vocal parts, create a unique listening experience, breaking the flow
of this EP to perfection. "Woke A Late" is a quintessential tech-house
jam. The song begins with a minimalistic beat, which consistently grows into
a more developed sonic soundscape, with darker sounds and ominous effects
adding to the listening experience. It almost sounds like pipes and bells
being slammed in an underground cave, as the beat rages on for one of the
most engaging and atmospheric bangers on this EP. Last, but definitely not
least, there is even some room for a stellar remix curated by Michael Rosa.

behind Sankofa, Amaro elucidates the imperative behind his music: “I worked
to try to understand my ancestors, my place, my history, as a black man.
Brazil didn’t tell us the truth about Brazil. The history of black people
before slavery is rich with ancient philosophies. By understanding the

desires, dreams and wishes come from.” Sankofa is an Adinkra symbol depicting
a backward-facing bird. After stumbling upon the symbol on a robe at an

the depths of an ancient dark underworld, Nigh/T\mare has conjured a powerful
offering of burning emotions that light the fires of one's demons and invite
the beginning of an epic journey through the unknown. Via Threnes Records

of top quality industrial/experimental techno. Entitled
"Katharsis", this artistically crafted set of tracks in the form a
debut album twists and turns its way over tribal rhythms with dynamic feels
and beating drums that break down anything standing in the way. A powerful
offering from the depths of the soul. "Impure" is a powerful
opener, like an army banging its drums and marching towards the fight, this
track sets the stage from the drama to come. Like a speeding train through
dystopia the injection of adrenaline comes in the form of "Self
Immolation" which makes the heart beat with the force of a 100 pounding
drums. Tribal percussion keeps banging its way through "Anti
Balaka" before slowing into a deep melancholic track by the name of
"Unarmed". Slowly building out of the calm "Unavoidable
Unveiling" creates tension with droning notes and broken industrial
percussion laying the soundscapes. "Doomed to Struggle" Feat.
Prophan is a dramatic pushing and pulling of the hard hitting sounds and
ritualistic chanting before diving into the galvanic rhythms of "The
Summoning" Feat. LAIR. "The Path of Moans" brings the mood to
a sombre place where the whispers from the demons below can be heard
alongside the chiming of distant bells. Pact Infernal's remix of
"Impure" demands attention as it offers chaos into the fold along
with viciously delicious synths. Torn Relics remix of "The
Summoning" builds into an onslaught of relentless percussion and deep
howls from the underworld which leave you with chills running down your
spine. A fitting ending to an impressive array of dynamic tracks, this is an

is a high-pressure roller that centers a pacey melody - sure to be a 3am

‘Classic
albums’ may be an overused term but is entirely warranted here with the
announced reissues of this pair of house music long-players from Matthew
Herbert's extensive back catalogue, getting a release on triple vinyl his own
Accidental label. 2001’s much celebrated ‘Bodily Functions’ has appeared in
many Album Of The Decade lists, whilst 1998’s ‘Around The House’ set the
benchmark for a new more considered approach to dance music production that
sounds as crisp today as when it first hit the late 90’s dance floors. There
have of course been many brilliant house albums since Bodily Functions and
Around The House, many of them influenced by them, but there is a
distinctive, timeless quality in the sounds and words these songs were made
from. Those sounds include the distinctive voice of Matthew’s former wife
Dani Siciliano as well as long time collaborator, the late pianist Phil
Parnell, human blood flow, kitchen utensils, bones, domestic appliances,
teeth and laser eye surgery. Indeed, Matthew’s now legendary Personal

Khin takes a step forward with the release of her debut production
"Demons To Some Angels To Others" on her label Lazy Tapes, which
takes its title from the cult horror "Hellraiser". Developed
throughout last year, "Demons To Some Angels To Others" is a play
on euphoric and horror aesthetics. The positive and negative coincide into
one. Taking a club-oriented approach while keeping a distinctly bold
atmospheric tone throughout. The listener is greeted with the ambiguously
titled "No Escape", a breathy roller containing bespoke snippets of
background noises from unknown horror archives, tied together with huge
pummeling kickdrums that has been a staple in her dj sets. Next is "Do
You Believe In Evil" characterised by its powerful take on doomcore
riffs and ominous bells almost guaranteeing dancefloor destruction.
"Full Belly" is a fast paced, twisted take on psytrance with
claustrophobic razorlike synths piercing through the mix. Finally we have the
closer "Demons To Some Angels To Others" which also serves as the
title track of the EP. Alarm bells are ringing, glass is breaking, attention
is demanded but most of all the lines between opposite forces are shown to be
interconnected. With the tracks combined, it serves as a modern techno
soundtrack pointing to the current collapse of consensus reality |

is a Various Artists that opens with an original track of Error Etica, a
production in the purest style of this artist, Death Factory is a dark and
deep techno track, as well as energetic, a cut created with modular synths.
The second cut of face A is in charge of Pedro Pina an artist from the
Barcelona scene who presents us an original track techno sound, drone, with
the title ASP02, a production in which he twists the modular synths to create
a very personal atmospheric climax, in addition this track in its vinyl
edition ends in a locked groove, which gives a different and exclusive touch
to this reference, trying to stop time, and claim Justice today more than
ever. Face B consists of 2 tracks, the first cut is an original industrial
theme of Delusions also from the Barcelona scene, Blood of Sacrifice for
which they have been inspired by an apocalyptic future. For their composition
they have used modular synths, drum machines and also contact microphones to
create the atmospheres. And to close the vinyl another artist of Spain
Lectromeda has developed a Blood of Sacrifice Remix adapting it to your
personal sound, giving it a more techno mental and hypnotic approach, but at

fourth pressing to arrive from the Romanian imprint feeder sound is titled
“Mirror Time EP” and features three intriguing cuts signed by Mihai Dinu aka
Bucurie. Well-known in the international scene for his collaborations with
Depth Over Distance, Otaku, Stamp Records, Hubble Recordings, Honne Music as
well as for his independent releases on Bandcamp, the local DJ and producer
brings forward a distinct sound which blends his deepest thoughts and
feelings with hypnotic and vibrant microhouse or minimal techno music.The
artwork for this 12’’ was carefully created by Maria Bălan as a part of
the label’s ongoing live streaming events which brings together musicians and
visual artists in order to connect the two different creative fields, expand
beyond their borders and deliver fresh cultural alternatives. With
Dragutesku, Piktor and Oana being the ones that so far contributed to the
catalogue, feeder sound stands on solid grounds, enjoying the support of a
worldwide movement which can interact with the platform in numerous ways.
Bucurie’s productions have been noticed by the team for quite some time now
so this record was a natural step to follow after his participation on the
podcast series, the exclusive premieres and the EP Review sections, as well
as on one of the live streams |

artist and Boysnoize mainstay Unklevon returns with more bristling electro
sounds on his excellent ‘Sharping Shadow’ EP. The no-nonsense Unklevon
project was born after years of experimentation. It exists independently of
any specific aspect of the music scene but combines all niches within the
worlds of electro and techno. Unklevon debuted on this label in early 2019,
and has also landed on FLASH and Nechto. His tunes have picked up notable
support from Perc, Nastia and Amelie Lens, amongst other big names, and this
white label 12" is an essential offering of electronic dynamite. The
superb metallic drums of 'Cyborg Romance' open with a bang. Robotic vocals,
glistening synths and punchy bass all make for classy outer space electro.
The title track is another high-energy electro jam, this time with subtle
nods to Kraftwerk. The slithering synth lines and vocal samples, serene
cinematic atmosphere and sleek drums all lock you in. Things get much more
dark and intense on 'Venus Aktivita¨t.' The synths are eerie and haunting,
the bass packed with menace and the drums hit with intent. The excellent 'NJ
Breakers' is more stripped back and high speed as it races on squelchy acid
bass and linear drums towards some far-off planet. Last of all is 'Euroset
Cobra' ft. Brodinski, a caustic world of blistering synths and lurching
broken beats that casts a truly dystopian shadow on the dance floor. Sharping

Belgian-Ghanaian
multi-instrumentalist Esinam Dogbatse, a.k.a ESINAM, is set to release her
highly anticipated debut album 'Shapes in Twilights of Infinity' on the 3rd
September via W.E.R.F. Records. Solely carried away by sound, ESINAM succeeds
in blending her soulful voice with traditional African percussion, adding
electronic influences combined with dazzling melodies and mesmeric flute
improvisations. Her compositions carry traces from numerous geographical,
cultural and musical influences, collected from her personal history and
through various travels, encounters, tours and collaborations. After starting
her solo career as a "one-woman band" sampling and looping all
instruments herself to build her tracks, she released her critically acclaimed
self-titled debut EP on Sdban Ultra back in 2018 and has performed on

Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Eurosonic/Noorderslag. Built on futurist flute

universe. ESINAM invites us on a cosmic journey, a trip towards horizons
coloured with sounds and influences that reach as far as the eye can see.
'Shapes in Twilights of Infinity' finds a balance between the acoustic and
electronic, between the future and ancestral. The songs are deeply rooted in
grooves and global sounds, at the same time composed and spontaneously
evolving, always filled with a strong musical feeling. From 'New Dawn' with
its pulsating beats, vivid flutes and poetical spoken word featuring of the

ambient body music picks up right where Startup Label 1 left off. The
sparkling dust of Quarry_S has settled, and mutates into a liquid morphing
bass drizzle. Moving on to 'Found_Weaver' the hazy synths find a more
rhythmical form accompanied by a staccato groove. When the record is flipped
a new world gets exposed on the track 'Wolf'. A more consistent and
articulate track with a killer groove. Startup Label 2 explores the musical
map of clubland travelling further than the dance floor, not afraid of
venturing behind the 'Here Be Dragons' signpost |
