Those who are familiar with Mefitic's earlier releases are likely to note a
distinct evolution in the band's sound on their debut full-length. Although
it continues to fester in the wound recently opened by the 2012 EP,
"Columns of Subsidence" the approach to this album is notably less
chaos-driven and instead more controlled than previous recordings. On the one
hand, it invokes the same raw intensity of bands like Black Witchery and
Demoncy, and on the other it conjures a hypnotic dissonance akin to that of a

With
a sonic portfolio that boasts commissions for the Xenon classic pinball
machine, the sounds for the Meco Star Wars theme, the Atari TV commercials
and the electronic sound effects in the original Stepford Wives film (amongst
many others) the mutant electronic music CV of Suzanne Ciani is proof that in
a 1970s commercial world of boys toys, monopolised by a male dominated media
industry, a woman's touch was the essential secret ingredient to successful
sonic seduction. A classically trained musician with an MA in music
composition this American Italian pianist was first introduced to the
synthesizer via her connections in the art world when abstract Sculptor and
collaborator Harold Paris introduced Suzanne to synthesizer designer Don
Buchla who created the instrument that would come to define Ciani's synthetic
sound (The Buchla Synthesiser). Cutting her teeth providing self-initiated
electronic music projects for art galleries, experimental film directors, pop
record producers and proto-video nasties Suzanne soon located to New York
where she quickly became the first point of call for electronic music
services in both the underground experimental fields and the commercial
advertising worlds alike. Counting names like Vangelis and Harald Bode amongst
her close friends Suzanne and her Ciani Musica companybecame the testing
ground for virtually any type of new developments in electronic and
computerized music amassing an expansive vault of commercially unexposed
electronic experiments which have remained untouched for over 30 years...
until now. Finders Keepers Records are happy to announce a new creative
archive based relationship with Suzanne Ciani, a very unique and celebrated
experimental composer in her own right, who, as one of the very few female
composers in the field (Save Chicago's Laurie Spiegel, Italy's Doris Norton,
and a post-op Walter Wendy Carlos) turned a hugely significant wheel
behind-the-screens of many early computerised music modules throughout the
1980s dating back to her formative years studying at Stanford's Artificial
Intelligence Labs in the early 70s. Suzanne Ciani's detailed and academic
approach to music and electronics coupled with an impeccable sense of timing
and melody (and a good sense of humour) shines throughout this new collection
of previously unreleased recordings. Lixiviation complies and
recontextualises both secret music and commercial experiments of Suzanne
Ciani made for micro-cosmic time slots and never previously documented on
vinyl or CD. This is the first sneak peek of the early Ciani metal music and
non-pop that later went on see her nominated for multiple Grammy awards for
her later achievements which brought synthesiser music to the new age
movement |

Portuguese sci-fi maker Lewis
Fautzi is here again with his very own recipe about how the music of the
future should sound like. His style has evolved to harsher territories
lately, with distortion appearing as one of the main components here. First
cut "Induced Pulse" is a broken groove exercise, with pounding
kicks and vocal samples providing the introduction while obscure components
join the march as the minutes go. "Undirected Differential" goes
straight to the point from the beginning, with obsessive sequences running
across a solid paced rhythm. The synth line evolves continuously, changing
the filter frequency, mutating and constantly changing. The B-side opens with
"Intense Mechanism", in a galactic mood with one bar arpeggiated
sounds, modulated wisely running over a blurred and distorted drum line. Last
slice is "Stimulated Desorption", again hypnosis and repetition as
leitmotiv with similar sound components as the previous one but with a more
shuffled drum approach |

is back on Shaw Cuts with "The Rescue", a swashbuckling tale of
sheer heroism, revolutionary sentiment and resistance in the face of
oppression. Following the fall of the Sung Dynasty, minister Wen, who pens a
patriotic song to inspire the nation, is imprisoned by the conquering
Mongols. Sung patriots plot to free the lord from the Celestial Prison by
having themselves arrested and a spy release them once inside. But the prison
general sets a deadly trap. "Harbinger", its heavy drums, mystic
pads and untamed spirit perfectly describes the menacing scene inside the
prison. With the help of free-spirited hero Le Heru, patriot Bai Yaerh
escapes the carnage. With more fighters in tow, he returns to the prison with
a new plan to tunnel underground. Yet this too is a cunning trap that forces
Le Heru to cover up the heroes' escape. The intense buildup of "Light
The Torch" with its echoing chords and noisy elements, invigorates and
drives the pack forward. After convincing a Mongol-raised guard captain to
join them, the patriots make a last attempt to save lord Wen by posing as
Mongols and slipping into the jail. They finally reach Wen who has starved
himself to death |

two stellar Split EPs with Das Komplex, Brazilian sound wizard ROTCIV
delivers his first Solo EP on Luv Shack Records. With 4 intricate original
cuts and a Massimiliano Pagliara remix, the Elev8tion EP is a bold testament
to modern EBM. The titular track sets the stage with a firework of dramatic
synths, brash elektro beats and a fluttering acid line, finding a perfect
balance between dancefloor appeal and leftfield quirkiness. Italian maestro
Massimiliano Pagliara remixes "Elev8tion" in a straightforward
fashion, opting for a percussion heavy drummachine pattern, a driving
bassline and additional synth melodies, yet incorporating the original 303 to
great effect. On "Unbelievable", ROTCIV lays out a complex carpet
of alternating arpeggios, heavily automated synth melodies and an array of
weird vocal snippets, atop a minimalistic electronic drum track.
"Muquifo", which literally translates to flophouse or dump (or
shack?), is a slow burning breakbeat track with eerie strings and tripped out
acid melodics, making it a hot contender for future afterhours. "The

‘Classic
albums’ may be an overused term but is entirely warranted here with the
announced reissues of this pair of house music long-players from Matthew
Herbert's extensive back catalogue, getting a release on triple vinyl his own
Accidental label. 2001’s much celebrated ‘Bodily Functions’ has appeared in
many Album Of The Decade lists, whilst 1998’s ‘Around The House’ set the
benchmark for a new more considered approach to dance music production that
sounds as crisp today as when it first hit the late 90’s dance floors. There
have of course been many brilliant house albums since Bodily Functions and
Around The House, many of them influenced by them, but there is a
distinctive, timeless quality in the sounds and words these songs were made
from. Those sounds include the distinctive voice of Matthew’s former wife
Dani Siciliano as well as long time collaborator, the late pianist Phil
Parnell, human blood flow, kitchen utensils, bones, domestic appliances,
teeth and laser eye surgery. Indeed, Matthew’s now legendary Personal
Contract for the Composition of Music (PCCOM) for which he is now famed, was
considered radical at the time |

producer with 20 years of experience perfecting his craft, we’re excited to
welcome Ramon Tapia to Drumcode for his debut EP. The artist previously
contributed a pair of cuts to the A-Sides series in recent years with ‘Sonic
Therapy’ and Drum Control’, while also playing the Drumcode stage at
Tomorrowland in 2019. Elsewhere he’s dropped heat on Truesoul, led by the
crisp groover ‘Manipulate’. His ascension to Drumcode for his first
full-fledged solo EP release is richly deserved. As with so many during the
past year, Tapia’s taken his studio work in colourful and interesting
directions. ‘The Future of Mankind’ is a multi-faceted beast. The title track
is a straight-up weapon, driven by an ascendent riff that’s energetic and
hopeful in equal doses. ‘Song of Sirens’ sees ambient pads and rolling
percussion combine for a quality cut every DJ needs. ‘Screwdriver’ does what
it promises on the tin; guttural and textured, it’s a necessary transitional
tool for every techno set. ‘Hold On’ is the kind of emotion charged dance
music that’ll make us go collectively weak at the knees when raving returns.

How
does a musical production in the world of entertainment evolve and
materialize? What happens behind the scenes of designing a musical idea? It's
amazing how music plays a vital role in the lives of people who believe in
it. In a historical moment like this and with the music scene losing its
identity, Supercinema records welcomes ITNA an artist collective to its
world, consisting of Ezio aka SWRD, Edoardo and Luca. The three started in
2016 and after three years of working on this project, they returned aiming
to implement a collective of ideas coming from three different generations
with different sounds while trying to adapt to the contexts of a world that
has radically changed. The idea was to create a musical journey by combining
multiple genres in order to unite diversity and create a balance that brings
the people of music under a single social flag. The goal of the project lays
the foundations of a path that encompasses all those contents, interactions,
and expectations of emerging artists who relate to the external world,
tormented and deconstructed, which through musical, cinematographic, and
exhibition productions, to then move on to tormented artistic scenographic
dynamics of the fashion world. The artistic collaborations will be aimed at
the production of sound samples, beats, audio packages, and unreleased songs
that will be part of the ITNA collective |

Following their debut on the
imprint in 2020, Kassian step up for a second outing on Shall Not Fade, this
time via the Basement series. Their return to the label takes a deeper,
heavier direction than their previous releases, more suited to a warehouse over
an intimate club setting. As Kassian have continuously pushed their sound
forwards, they've gained recent accolades such as contributing to BICEP's
Feel My Bicep mix series, playing Mixmag's LAB London live and notable
coverage from DJ Mag and more in the last year alone. Their latest EP
'Breathe' is perfectly placed for the long awaited return to nightlife. The
A1 delivers what a true A1 should, a peak time driving track with undeniable
energy. "Aerial" pulls back the pace slightly, it's a deep and
rolling effort with a classic trance influence. Rounding off the EP is
"London Orbital", clearly inspired by the sounds of London that the
duo are so familiar with, the track switches up the pace and presents a

For
the third release in Klasse Wrecks' ELEGAL RECORDS sub-label, the clock is
turned back to the early nineties and the destination is set for Toronto,
Canada. Throughout their career the duo of Dominic Paterson and Todd Nickolas
released a handful of EPs on their own 'Floorshaker Productions' and two
albums, one of which on Cargo Records during the tim they were signed to the
label. ADSR cultivated a rich and unique sound, one that ranged from piano
induced euphoria to heads down serious breakbeat territory. ELEGAL3 is based
around one track that originally was only available on the 1993 CD album
'Accelerated Emotions', 'Haunted' is a floorfiller comprising of piano stabs,
choir vocals, depth charge basslines and acid energy. The record features the
original track remastered for 2021 and two remixes, one from label boss Luca
Lozano and a reinterpretation by original member Todd Nickolas. Also included
is a never heard before DAT tape find of 'Menace', a grooving beast with a
low slung bassline and a simple chord stab melody |

Belgian
drummer / songwriter Elias Devoldere has been playing clubs and festivals
across Europe with several prominent bands (Nordmann, Sumi,
Hypochristmutreefuzz, John Ghost, Hast...) for the past ten years. He was
also invited to create soundtracks for dance performances and theatre quite
often, which in hindsight turns out to be the starting point (and
inspiration) for his upcoming solo debut. In Nordmann, Sumi and
Hypochristmutreefuzz, Elias already had a fair share of the writing and
arrangement credits. He mainly gets his energy from creating music together
and never settles for the supporting role that is often reserved for
drummers. Therefore it was just only a matter of time before he would be
sharing his own 'solo' music with us. While working on a dance performance in
Finland (2018), the first sketches for Elias' debut 'Kaiku' emerged:
well-crafted songs, sung with a longing, melancholic voice, driven by Elias'
sumptuous drumming. Volatile chord progressions create this enticing yet
sinister soundscape ... as if Wim Wenders were directing an episode of The
Bridge. For this project, unpretentiously named Elias, Devoldere composes
music that is intuitive, personal and highly visual. Elias' approach is
cinematic, he's always on the lookout for images that move him, but instead
of capturing them on photo or video, he turns these pictures into music |

&apos's
music veers between abstract, experimental compositions and more beat driven
tracks, all held together by a defined aesthetic of sonic impurities and
random patterns thrown up by algorithmic computations. In &apos's music
compositional decisions are not merely reliant on himself but also on a range
of processes from constrained randomness to full fledged neural networks.
That is to say, the 'instruments' he creates have -to a certain extent- a
mind of their own. There will always be a dynamic between the musician and
something else that triggers, proposes or decides what will happen to the
music.It is exactly from this human-machine interaction that &apos
extrapolates his musical ideas that are both intricate and detailed while
never losing an overall sense of emotional value. His first solo project
'Lichtdrank' is a selection of four tracks made during his time studying
Sonology at The Hague's Royal Conservatory and the time following. It is the
third and final installment of bepotel's startupLabel trilogy. Previously, he
has released music together with Walrus and Sagat under several musical
projects like smaakwaterval and bepotel. The artwork of the Lichtdrank EP is
based on screenshots from an interactive multiplayer video game where the

and Love are back after the overwhelming success of their previous two
releases and are excited to announce DFL003. A reissue of Mandisa’s “Summer
Love”.Originally recorded in 1980 at Omega Studios in Chicago, Mandisa’s “Summer
Love” is another deep crossover glider with the deep and obscure jazzy
floater “Love’s Dream” on the flip side. Both sides of the original 7 were
versions of tracks taken from Prince Billy Madhi Wright’s album “You Got Dat
Wright” and added Maggie “Mandisa” Epting on vocals. The players on the
original 7inch session were Billy Madhi (William Wright) on Saxaphone, The
Plaxico brothers on Bass and Drums, Bruce Jones on Keyboards and Gensia
Williams on backing vocals The record has been almost impossible to find in
the last few years so we are incredibly pleased to release a fully licenced

round the songs of principal writer James Howard, Gobstopper is the
compelling and cinematic result of two years work with Ursula Russell (who
penned two tracks), Dimitrios Ntontis (Dimi the Greek), legendary producer
Capitol K, and a host of other beautiful characters. Recorded at London's
vital Total Refreshment Studio, this is an album rich in its production,
every track exquisitely delivered with layers of harmony and instrumentation.
The cover art is painted by artist, Phillip Reeves, taking Mingus' The Clown
as its starting point. Gobstopper represents an expansion of sound and a
widening of subject: it is an album sung from inside the gluttonised belly of
up-for-grabs capitalist Britain, swallowing up whatever is in its way: a
jukebox on the coast, 'see-through wheels on a see-through motorway', Soho
square policemen and silent discos. The record roams like a child on a sugar
high turning over stones, sometimes finding compassion, sometimes the weird
and beautiful, and sometimes just woodlice. Gobstopper narrates the poetic
shift: observation and tellings on the experience, emotion when our gaze
turns to that curious realm that exists between the day to day living, common
need and the conditioned madness of the island of Great Britain |

London-based
producer and DJ Tarquin has returned to Gobstopper Records for his second
release with the seminal underground label, 'Grease'. Tarquin delves deeper
into the boundary pushing sound that his productions have become synonymous
with for this two track release, out on digital and 12' vinyl formats from
5th may. The release's A-side, 'Grease (Chord Mix)' is a high tempo example
of the genre's more experimental side, using fragmented percussive samples
set to a background of pitch-bent chord stabs and twisted melodic elements.
Providing as much impact in the track's negative space as in its
instrumentation, Tarquin's minimalist approach to production on 'Grease
(Chord Mix)' establishes its boldness and makes it one of the most
recognisable examples of deconstructed club music of the year so far. As a
counter-point to the abstract starkness of 'Grease (Chord Mix)', the
release's flip side 'Foxtown' utilises ominous synths and distorted bass
tones to tackle the more upfront sound of first generation grime production.
Tarquin adds short, sharp chops of texture to the mix from every angle,
creating a sound that feels robust without ever adding too many layers |

as a visual artist with a past in the art world (his first solo exhibition
opened at the Amigos del Arte gallery in 1995), as well as a self-taught
minimal improvisational cosmic garage rocker -see his La Banda's (1993) and
Jesus Freaks (2004) projects-, Diego Hernández (Santiago, 1972), active
public and semi-privately in both fields since 1992, is one of the
iconoclastically multifunctional characters of the scene casually scattered
around 'free improv rock, electronic and psychedelic collectives', such as A
Full Cosmic Sound, Kb Cabala, Watchout!, or more specifically, The
Psychedelic Schafferson Jetplane or False Sir Nicholas, by way of independent
DIY labels such as E.T.C.S. Records, Cosmovisón Andina Registros, BYM, Yellow
Moon and Productora Mutante, within the more adventurous substrate of what
has summarily been termed the new Chilean psychedelic scene, which in this
case may be seen as the connection between local archival reference points of
the nineteen sixties and seventies, such as Los Jaivas, El Polen or the more
extravagant moments of Los Blops, the musical background, halfway between
hardcore, conceptual prog-kraut noise and classic rock, and an autonomous
organizational outlook aimed at practical achievements (rehearsal room or
workshop home recordings, analog no-fi immediateness, concerts and
exhibitions set up among friends, and small or outright minimal print runs of
a work aesthetic and ethics equally associated to art brut as well as to post
capitalist popular mass culture, closely connected to the cassette format
rescued for home production values). Thus, DH has devoured whatever music,
cartoons and books he can get his hands on, operating handheld cassette
recorders in order to register noise and melodies privately, as well as
drawing all over his notebooks since he was a child |

Kerrie made her impressive
Cultivated Electronics Ltd debut in July with 'We Continue Part 1' which has
grabbed the attention of media and DJs alike, recently featuring in DJ Mag's

This Irish born, Manchester based DJ and producer has been rising in the
