Cosmic traveller Herman 'Sonny'
Blount became Sun Ra after an alien abduction, proclaiming that he came from
Saturn and using music to point to human failure on earth, offering space as
ethereal alternative. Supersonic Jazz was released in 1957 on Ra's Saturn
label and regularly reissued, even making it onto Impulse in 1974, its blend
of bop, avant-garde and galactic well ahead of its time. More melodic and
cohesive than many subsequent titles, 'Advice To Medics' is a troubling Ra
piano diversion, and 'Super Blonde' a big-band stomp: 'Soft Talk,' by
trombonist Julian Priester, is one of the vehicles for John Gilmore's tenor
sax and 'Kingdom Of Not' has uncommon swing. A must for all Sun Ra scholars! |

As
the tides change and the majesty of the moon once more begins to illuminate
our forgotten domain, the hotly-tipped Incus has made the jump to hyperspace
and determined that now is the time to unleash his neoteric creation into the
macrocosm of music. At the behest of the sonic social masters,
"INC.AUDIO" will be deemed a passion project, but in reality it
will rip the very fabric of what it means to have a personal creative outlet,
curtailing boundaries and expectations alike. Based on the creed of freedom
of experimentation, the label will allow Incus and close friends within the
industry to share their creative expressions within a familial and
contemporary framework free from third-party limitation. For now we start at
the first chapter of the INC.AUDIO narrative, and the inaugural release which
comes from the architect himself. His first solo EP contains 4 tracks
conceived at home during lockdown, combining new sound design techniques
developed through the mediums of trusty Korg Hardware and Ableton live. The
end product is a consummate representation of the benefits of free time,
reckless abandon and zero red tape. Kicking off with "Design Your
Mind", Incus draws on his longstanding influences collected via years of
crate-digging and supporting underground idols in the UK and Ibiza |

characteristic for the Polish producer are still there, but there is also
progress, the significant mark of development and challenge. Gogan is on a

Acid
lovers unite! Techno House Connoisseurs release their 2nd record with 5
tracks that blanket the acid genre offering something for everyone. Acid
extraordinaire Acidulant kicks things off with a jacking, stompy monster
meant for the warehouse with 808 beats and a crispy 303 throughout. Jon Lee
of Tilted records in Seattle is next up and his production shines with a
moody, tech house gem that is sure to get the floor heated with it's warpy
and bleeping layers on top of rubbery acid lines. A real treat! Canada's Jay
Tripwire shows why he is at the forefront of the production game with his
acid ripper Kneel to Zod. This track oohs and aahs with it's heavy percussive
rhythms and psychedelic leanings. A brilliant 303 wobbles throughout the 8
minute workout with dreamy synths and a wicked breakdown. More dance floor
magic from Mr. Tripwire. Label CEO Dave Zam AKA Space Ace revisits his 2019
Acid Odyssey release and reworks the original into a bass heavy punisher.
Adding on more percussion and layers of 303 with dramatic deep synths it
promises a glimpse of what the label seeks to achieve. Lastly, LA's Praus
brings another cosmic diamond to THC records with Luigi's Illusion. Praus
continues to impress with lush layers of atmosphere and rich percussive elements
followed by a whopper of a baseline with wiggling acid all throughout. Buckle

The four tracks of "Victory Belongs To Those Who Fight For
A Right Cause" are four short vomits of anti-religious sentiment made
music. Sang in Moroccan Arabic TAQBIR's lyrics are irreverent, careless
outburst of anger towards an extremely patriarchal oppressive place.
Musically TAQBIR walks a thin line joining some of my favourite qualities in
punk music. The aggression of fuckwave originators DISKOLOKOST, the nastiness
of THE COMES vocalist' Chitose and the raw reverb/drenched heavily-distorted
non-production of THE SEXUAL or DESTINO FINAL. An amazing example of
primative world Musik and hopefully part of a new wave of Taqwacore bands.

Byron
the Aquarius (aka Byron Blaylock), an accomplished keys player as much as he
is a producer, has a deep love for the organic side of music. This shines
through in his creations, back to his debut EP in 2007. More recently,
Blaylock's skillful jazz beats have found a home on the one and only Jeff
Mills' Axis Records. From his birthplace in Birmingham Alabama, Blaylock has
grown into an international figure of acclaim for his explorative
compositions.Already having two successful EPs with Shall Not Fade under his
belt - most recently marking the labels' 50th release with What Up Doe? Vol.2
- Byron the Aquarius returns for a gorgeous double LP. Expect the smoothness
of deep house, melodic instrumental hip hop production of the J Dilla creed
along with tight jazz pieces. The New Beginning LP showcases range and
expertise from the off, exploding with pulsing discordant jazz in
"Amaya's Voyage". Psychedelic g-funk is the MO of "Smoke One
For Huckaby", before a B-side milieu of jazz and hip hop reminiscent of
Guru's Jazzmatazz. The album settles into a deep groove across its C-side,
the highlight of which is the percussive workout of "Underground Was
Black", complemented delicately with dazed pads and buoyant but smokey
lounge jazz sounds in "Cosmic Jazz". Off kilter hip hop shines
through in "Last Time We Gonna Do This" and its eclectic sound
palette, then we are blindsided by the heavy electro distortion of "The
End Of The World". The record closes with a collaboration of the genres
explored throughout, pieced together into the pumping "Lost People of
Tron". The album feels like a lap of honour around all the influences in
Byron The Aquarius' sound - it's yet another artistic triumph |

Stuart Evans, aka Sordid Sound System is one of the founders of
The Green Door Studio, a not for profit, analogue recording studio in Glasgow
which emerged from an increasing disillusionment with the modern ways of
music production. His sound holds outsider qualities, being everything but
generic and predictable, mixing dub with movie soundtracks in the tradition
of Carpenter and Italian likes.On this 7” released on Höga Nord Rekords, SSS
deconstructs and rebuilds music in an imaginative style, pairing tribe-ritual

enjoying straight up dub here but this record is also a display of the vivid

ankles. ‘A Demon In My View’ runs at a dangerous 90bpm, a total night stalker
of a beat riddled with menace and the deep stench of fear. You will be
scared, but that’s OK, we’ll get through this. ‘Counter Culture’ runs at
126bpm and projects us far out into distance space for a Sci-Fi adventure to
a distant galaxy with a techno shaped rocket to propel us out there (well,
there’s a 4/4 kick in there at least..). Flip for ‘Ashes’ where we get a hint
of dubstep influence melded with mangling technology and more perfectly
placed sounds. Lastly we turn to ‘Bedlam’ which takes the pace down a few
notches and we find ourselves hypnotized in a half-step, rocking gently,
wrapped in a blanket, slowly shaking off the trauma |

the first release on DJ MELL G's Juicy Gang Records label, the legendary DJ
Godfather joins forces with an artist who has continuously shone throughout
the dark days of 2020 and beyond -- DJ MELL G herself. Echoing the pair's
bouncy aesthetic and love for freakish electro and ghettotech, the Detroit
legend and rising star from Hamburg have produced a 4-track EP called 'COPS
CAN'T DANCE'. Combining the vibrant efforts of DJ Godfather and DJ MELL G
with Detroit vocalist Parkhouse, 'WERK N' TWERK FEAT. PARKHOUSE' opens up the
EP with pulsating aplomb. A synth-heavy production with a touch of acid
stitched between Parkhouse's relentless orders to "werk n twerk",
it's the product of three artists delivering a succulent punch. With Parkhouse's
vocal too good for just one track, 'VOCAL' follows suit. A stand-alone
edition of Parkhouse's lyrics from 'WERK N' TWERK', it's stripped-back to the
bone and provides a tool for DJs to layer into their sets. On the flip,
'SPLINTER' rips through, highlighting DJ Godfather and DJ MELL G's penchant
for electro. Bleeps, blips and burbles, this is an off-kilter opus with a
futuristic twist. Imagine a world ruled by AI, robots and humans hibernating
in pods; 'The Matrix' sonified.* Wrapping up the EP in a parcel of skittering
percussion and wobbling bass and tied up with a fluorescent pink bow, 'HIT
THAT SHIT' ends the release on an urgent note. Fast, frantic and a little bit

Probably
the most respected and sought-after producer of the European reggae scene of
the last ten years, Spanish genius Roberto Sánchez (Willi Williams, Earl
Zero, Alpheus, Keith & Tex, Milton Henry,...) takes place behind the
microphone to deliver a new album as a singer under his pseudonym LONE ARK.
Soberly titled Showcase Vol. 1, this album is a collaboration between Sánchez
and the Swiss band THE 18TH PARALLEL, whose playing is well known to reggae

that make good mood disco inspired by the 1980 Italo and Munich Disco vibe

Legendary
Reggae vocalist Cornell Campbell is to release a new E.P entitled 'Time For
Peace', to mark the 52nd Anniversary of Martin Luthur King Jr's
assassination, 4th April 2021. Taking its title from Cornell's lyrical
addition to Black Man In A White World, "I want you to understand, I
need, I need everyone to hang on, in love, peace and unity", the new
12" EP features bold interpretations of two of soul music's most iconic
songs about race, identity and injustice.Both Michael Kiwanuka's 'Black Man
In A White World' and 'Outernational Blues' - a take on the Marvin Gaye
classic 'Inner City Blues' - evoke the sentiment and spirit of MLK's peaceful
protest, and act as a reminder as to the importance of grace, pride and
dignity in difficult times. Capturing a unique combination of vocal
vulnerability and wisdom, this is music that demands deep listening. Cornell
Campbell's voice at 75, carries a new found poignancy and depth of emotion;
one which feels perfectly suited to delivering an elders perspective on such
emotionally loaded topics. The E.P was recorded and produced over four
countries, with the music for all tracks having been recorded in London,
England at The Total Refreshment Centre, before being voiced in Kingston
Jamaica at Anchor Studios. Additional backing vocals were added at Heritage
Recording Co in Burbank, California, before the track was finally mixed and
produced by Sergio Lopez, in Andalucia, Spain |

Scuba
begins a new project with London vocalist and producer DOMiNii, who makes his
debut with ‘Diivorce’. Paul Rose (aka Scuba) has long since explored
cross-genre sounds, blending disparate elements and mining nostalgia to
create cool moods and moments of pure escapism. Over four critically
acclaimed albums and mix CDs for DJ Kicks, fabric, and Ostgut Ton, he’s
established himself as one of the industry’s most respected artists and
tastemakers. He’s continued to evade musical pigeonholing over the course of
his career, never hesitating to challenge himself with new creative
endeavours. The fresh sonic direction expressed on ‘Diivorce’ is one he’s
been developing since 2018, when he took an indefinite break from the
full-time DJ circuit.
‘Diivorce’ is a collaboration with debut artist DOMiNii, a vocalist and
producer who takes influence from the likes of Wang Chung, David Newman,
Arthur Russell, and The Blue Nile. Although he appeared uncredited with
backing vocals on Scuba’s ‘Forgive Me’, which initially came out last summer,
‘Diivorce’ marks his first official release. Covering areas as varied as
power pop, indietronica, exuberant house, and classic rock, the project
seemingly touches as many points as it can think of, something Rose acknowledged

Already
a well-established presence on the outlandish fringes of experimental,
alternative and dance music, celebrated Israeli duo Red Axes make a surprise
left-turn onto Phantasy with a three-track 12”, ‘Sipoor’. Unsurprisingly, the
results are as pleasingly out-there as the occasion requires. Following on
from last year’s self-released LP, ‘The Beach Goths’, ‘Sipoor’ immediately
announces the Axes’ uncompromising return to the front and centre of the
dancefloor with the raw, provocative ‘Bad Time Story’. Brazen, brash acid
triggers this particular tale, as Red Axes briskly modulate their way through
a ruff, tuff but never less than musical landscape of 303s and 808s. ‘Sipoor’
takes a more gradual approach to building offbeat rave tension, featuring an
unknown male using his native tongue to request some kind of house, some kind
of techno and some sort of release. His wish (and we hope, yours) is the
Axes’ command, as the music goes deep before seamlessly unfolds around a
throbbing bassline and a playful, familiar keyboard sample, beckoning feet to
the dancefloor and perhaps tongues ever so slightly to cheeks. Concluding the
12”, ‘Teroof’ takes each of Red Axes’ signature ingredients - deeply rhythmic
EBM-inspired drums, spiralling electronics, unapologetically odd vocal

producer Ben Gomori revisits his G. Markus alter ego for an EP that pays
tribute to the Jungle and Drum & Bass soundtrack of his formative years.
Dreemscape ’93 opens the EP; a vibey piece that instantly recalls old school
house tracks with its use of a contagious groove, fltered elements and a
specifc vocal sample taken from Dreamscape's 1993 NYE party. On the same side
we find queniv turning B side track The Sleepless Moon into his unique blend
of breakbeat elements and twisted ambient layers. On the fipside, Roger Gerressen

Paris is burning! And Eliott Litrowski lit the match with his
latest EP for OOSSHA. The producer from France once saw the light in the
famous Rex club in Paris but has a profound love for Dutch underground dance
music. He previously released singles on Moustache and Bordello a Parigi and
now debuts on Utrecht based SoHaSo sublabel OOSSHA. On his Long Story Short
EP, Litrowski combines the boldness of Dutch west coast electro with the
flair and finesse of French techno, while throwing in a hint of sweet flavoured
Italo vibes. A good example is Blind Pilot, which is both frivolous and
funky. Or jump the needle to Cereal Funk, where the dry hi-hats and wild
arpeggio's give more than a nod to Dopplereffekt, while staying in fourth
gear. No wonder the track gets a remix treatment by Ed DMX, who turns Cereal
Funk into a proper electro monster without losing the core futuristic
elements. Long story short, Litrowski's music is both playful, quirky and
tailor made for clubs |

Utter presents The Jaffa Kid’s
‘Acid Raver’ on 2xLP housed in a smiley sleeve with bonus perforated acid tab
sheet. While The Jaffa Kid - real name Daniel Pringle - has been releasing
music since the mid 2000’s, he has recently become a man possessed, relentlessly
and unceremoniously uploading over 50 albums to Bandcamp since 2019. Prolific
is an understatement. ‘Acid Raver’ was recorded in 2019 during what Pringle
describes as a ‘two week acid bender’ and is part of an ongoing series of
303-based experiments. With BPMs varying from the 120s up to the 150s, the
tracks collected here touch on a variety of acidic styles from the
stripped-back and hypnotic to full-blooded jacking fist-pumpers, then on up

The next edition of the Dispatch Blueprints series comes from
NC-17 and Kumarachi. Inspired by the original breakbeats / drum sampling
production techniques, NC-17 continues the Blueprints ethos with two
spectacular tracks that celebrate the old skool drum and bass flavours.
Whilst working on the latest edition of NC-17's ongoing album series
"Most Violent Year" we received the two tracks that make up this
release and all agreed that they would find the perfect home on the
Blueprints imprint. "Cache" is a drum heavy collaboration with
Kumarachi that makes perfect use of rasping bass synths, razor sharp drum
edits and well timed vocal samples, channeling the energy of a Blue Note era
banger. "Rules of Hell" is pure NC-17 magic - a dark, broody,
cinematic journey through the depths of drum and bass grit. Tuned to make
whole dancefloors shake, this one is a real monster. Watch out for that

From
Nursery to Misery crawl back to Dark Entries with Tree Spirits, the follow up
to 2017’s Pixies In The Woods. The project was founded in 1987, when producer
and keyboardist Lee Stevens invited identical twins Gina and Tina Fear over
to record in his home studio in Basildon, Essex. Four years of prodigious
studio experimentation followed, resulting in two full length cassettes
(1989’s The Oak Tree and 1990’s Equilibrium), and a split EP with Nostalgie
Eternelle in 1990. Stalwarts of the Mail Art scene, they also appeared on
over 22 cassette compilations, home-dubbed in true DIY fashion, before
splitting in 1991. The eleven tracks on Tree Spirits display From Nursery to
Misery’s signatures: chunky drum machine patterns, playfully eerie synth
melodies, and Tina and Gina’s stark, nursery rhyme-esque vocals. The lyrical
content ranges from dreary to grim; they explore existential despair, sexual
violence, and death through an acerbic, feminist lens. Inspired by the
Bladerunner soundtrack and 4AD, Lee’s production is alternatingly warm and
icy, like a glacier wrapped in analog tape hiss. Stylistically, the tracks
range from charmingly miserable synth pop on “Cry Me”, to the clanging
rhythmic industrial of “The Daily Raper”, and even a haunting flute driven
instrumental with “A Summer Morning Trip Through The Misty Woods”. From
Nursery to Misery are a pure expression of the British DIY aesthetic, which
is made all the more captivating by the band’s own confession that they were
just trying to make pop music! All songs on Tree Spirits were remastered by
George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The cover art by Eloise Leigh features a
photograph of the twins posing dramatically in the woods. Included is a
12-page booklet with lyrics, liner notes, and an archival interview with the
band, as well as a bonus 1.25” square pin featuring the band’s logo |

Founded
by saxophonist Vincent Brijs, BRZZVLL have been a household name in Antwerp
and the Belgian jazz scene since 2008 but after a fifteen-year period, the
sextet has decided to embark on a new chapter in their story with a name
change and new line-up. Enter Lucid Lucia, named after Brijs' eldest daughter
and also the name of a track which first appeared on BRZZVLL's 2016 album
'First Let's Dance'. It also symbolizes a brighter, clearer sound. On the 8th
October, Lucid Lucia are set to release their self-titled debut EP via
Belgian tastemaker label Sdban Ultra. Searching to unwrap the bundle of
complexity, contradictions and mystery that is a human life, across six
tracks of jazz and space funk-infused grooves, Lucid Lucia look to the sound
of Herbie's 'Head Hunters' and Miles' acid funk of the mid-70s for
inspiration. Continuing with an instrumental core, 'Lucid Lucia' is a
mind-expanding celebration centered on freedom and rhythm. Free-spirited
saxes, futuristic-sounding keys, monstrous bass lines and shifting drum beats
fuse, resulting in an uplifting and joyous celebration of jazz, funk and
groove. The Vincent Brijs story began in 2007 when BRZZVLL won Jong
Jazztalent Gent - a competition that taps into the unbridled creativity of
one of the most creative music scenes in Belgium; the jazz scene. A
performance at the prestigious Gent Jazz Festival followed with the band
releasing their debut album 'Days of Thunder, Days of Grace' in 2008, which
included contributions by Zap Mama's Marie Daulne among others and was voted
'Best Jazz Album of 2008' by Le Soir newspaper |
