a special limited edition reissue of a stone cold classic from the R&S
vaults, 1993 style, remastered and repressed on special transparent wax.
Capricorn aka Dutch producer and DJ Hans Weekhout originally released the
'20Hz' 3 track EP on R&S sub-label Global Cuts to much acclaim. A record
that was literally everywhere in '93 and still rocks any club today, '20Hz'
is undoubtedly an all-time anthem with it's combination of rolling,
thunderous drums, glacial marimba-like melodies and a tense trance inducing
atmosphere that literally lifts the dancefloor to another place. 'Didn't I'
is also a proper old-school peak-time stormer, it's uptempo, dripping in
positive vibes with sampled soulful vocals and chopped up drum breaks all
encapsulated within a real rave sensibility. Closing out the EP we are
treated to 'For The Soul, Body & Mind' which is a much darker, deeper and
menacing vibe than the previous cuts. More in line with the earliest fringes
of jungle, hardcore and bleep tehcno the track takes us on a journey into the
heart of the night with it's bass heavy and intricate sound programming and
breakbeats, proving that Hans Weekhout was an extremely versatile and open
minded producer. Overall, a truly classic and essential EP from the heyday of
European house and techno that still packs a punch today! This special 2021

Orlando B returns with a timeless
track, ‘Foreversong’ for the sixth installment on his ‘Contemplate
Recordings’ label. Running in at just over 10 minutes, ‘Foreversong’ is an
emotive “tour de force” showcasing his love for nostalgic, ‘Detroit’
influenced melodies and tugging string lines. With its uplifting vibe and
atmospheric breakdown, ‘Foreversong’ is the perfect “end of the night” track.
‘New Day’ kicks off the B-Side with an uplifting piano house intro’ and a
cheeky oldskool vocal sample. The arrangement builds gradually before the
kick and bass line drop, taking it to the next level. Closing track ‘Dark
Place’ goes down a stripped back techno route to compliment the first two
melodic house tracks. The main riff was born out of a jam session, playing
around with a twisted hypnotic synth line which mutates throughout keeping
the listener locked in. Muted percussion and a subby bass sound give this
track a dark warehouse vibe, ideal for moody clubs around the land |

In
January 2004, Sébastien Tellier released "Politics", an ambitious
album which preaches the defense of the oppressed peoples, in a luxurious
dressing. The press ignites, but he was considered as an original elitist.
Nevertheless, "La Ritournelle" is a piece which whole France knows,
without knowing who sings it. In September 2005, lead by his Ritournelle
which crossed the Channel by swimming, the same album goes out to the UK with
crash. "Epic, gorgeous dance track we can't, can't, can't stop
playing", The Sunday Times, October 2005. Sébastien Tellier's live shows
reached a kind of artistic summit, a model of intensity and strakness. It is
from this control that came the idea to record, on December 30th 2005, an
acoustic session of his directory accompanied by the pianist Simon Dalmais.
The fruit of this session gave birth to this album, "Sessions",
intimate and straight. "Sessions" is a collection of timeless
pieces, stemming from his directory, in the right lined by the authors /
composers / performers who mark their period. In bonus of this recording
produced as an album studio by Alf (Air, Phoenix), Sébastien Tellier recorded
a resumption of Christophe's "La Dolce Vita", as well as an instrumental
unpublished one "Classic". This is the first time this album is
pressed on vinyl |

Canadian bassist/vocalist Neil
Merryweather relocated to Los Angeles in the late 1960s and hooked up with
the singer, actress and future Penthouse pet, Lynn Carey. They would find
greater fame upon forming the band Mama Lion in 1972, but Vacuum Cleaner captures
the prototype of the group on this collaboration cut the year before, after
RCA signed them as a duo. Merryweather's bass is a solid anchor and his
harmony and musical arrangements help keep everything in place: Canadian
keyboardist JJ Velker adds atmosphere, but it is Carey's powerful voice that
really drives this hard rockin' beast, gleaning comparisons with Janis
Joplin. Merryweather & Carey notably appeared in Russ Meyer's The Seven
Minutes too |

The
journey that Jan Swerts started on his debut album along the fading places
and people of his youth ended in a dead-end street towards a cemetery. The
fascination for that place where every story ends was destined to result in a
graveyard album. Oud Zeer thus continues where Weg stopped. Swerts - a
university college professor during the day - often wanders around cemeteries
at night. He likes the silence that lingers there; save for the crunching of
the inevitable pebbles, the ringing of the bells and the barking of a distant
dog. He craves the memories that float above the tombs, different for every
visitor. And the confrontation with finiteness, Swerts is also very keen on
that. The new album, his fourth already, is a musical graveyard journey. Oud
Zeer contains ten piano tracks, each of which is named after epitaphs of
graves Swerts likes to visit during his dwellings. From opener 'Deze kille
grond' to 'Het ongekend Nadezen' to the closing track 'Alles vergaat, alles
verdwijnt'. After Weg, Anatomie van de Melancholie and Schaduwland, this
feels like a logical next step for Swerts. All his life he has been curious
about what the ravages of time can do to man, not the least to himself, and
so cemeteries were never far away. The musician is surprised that it has
taken so long: the idea of making a 'graveyard record' - with music for 'dead
moments' - has been haunting him for years. Musically, Oud Zeer is more bare
boned than his previous albums. Piano, voice, some sparse guitar or strings:
that's all there is. And if he previously liked to point out the influences
of Nick Drake, Jotie T'Hooft and Wim Mertens, this time Swerts was mainly
inspired by The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe ('Nevermore') and Hejira by Joni
Mitchell, one of his favorite records. "Well I looked at the granite
markers", Mitchell sings in the title track of that album. "Those
tributes to finality, to eternity." The same song also echoes the
immortal words: "There's comfort in melancholy". And it is above
all that bittersweet taste of the graveyard that Swerts tries to convey: on
the one hand the old pain that slumbers over the graves, the countless
stories of sorrow behind the graceful tombstones and the human struggle with
evanescence. On the other hand the wonderful detachment and relaxation that
such a place can offer. Nowhere will you find a more efficient
"detox" from the excessive noise, stress and ego that is so typical
of the modern age |

Channelling sounds of The
Reatards, Gun Club, Pussy Galore, and GG Allin, London-s Suicide Generation

There's something about
Stockholm... Strong musical connections are to be found in most parts of the
city, from early days inner city creatives, to the current outskirt and
suburban nightly events, where past and present intertwine in a mix hard to
find elsewhere. This is a city with rich musical history. Some stories well
known and other needed to be sought out. Some commercially successful and
others secured in well selected record shelves over the world. Focusing on
the latter, Skudge suspectedly looked backwards to that well known label with
a capital S, also founded and ran a few blocks away from the Skudge studio.
One could presume that the A side, '97' hints of a past remembered, as where
side B with 'Svek' delicately concludes the fourtheenth release from Skudge |

track EP with mangled percussion, disorienting voices, unravelling textural

pack of international artists who in the past few years have taken a
hauntological approach to re-moulding the scents of breakbeat, rave, jungle,

Silver, released under new alias Cucumb45, performed his new live show at
clubs and festivals from Mutek ES and Peacock to Printworks, and recently
announced a US tour for July. TRP015 finds Bjarki in typical, monstrous,
floor slaying form with four trance leaning tracks that have proved an
inspiration for Nina Kraviz's DJ sets over the past year. Bjarki takes key
aspects of trance and takes it for a headspin into the unknown - mangled

Sorang,
the debut album of Yalta native Wulffius, represents his work over the last
eight years. The playful creature on the cover, Stone Eater, is based on
childhood sketches of producer's father. The name of the album alludes to the
first collection of his father's poems, which took its name from a short
story by Konstantin Paustovsky, a master of nature writing in Russian prose.
Sorang is the name of the south wind that "blows once in
centuries", and you can hear its unique warmth in these tracks. There is
a sense of wholeness here, and a palpable style and atmosphere that permeates
the individual pieces. Wulffius creates what he himself refers to as
"B-sides": something too strange to be danceable, with
"complex ease" and rhythmical variety. The music has a charming
serenity and beauty thanks to Wulffius' intuitive approach, which is
childlike and whimsical in the best possible sense. By the way, Paustovsky
wrote Sorang in an hour and a half at a speed writing competition. You can
hear a similar spontaneity here, but make no mistake, this is the work of a
master and has been crafted over a period of years. It all comes from
experience |

Not Fade is cultivating a tight family of producers for the Time Is Now
imprint, showcasing some of the freshest garage and breaks - London based DJ
Yosh is well-established within that family now, returning for his second EP
of 2021. Like the last,expect killer cuts of breakbeat madness, built for the
darkest clubs and the wildest nights. Tactics EP opens with the rough and
ready "Strike Back", harsh percussion and screeching rave stabs
that make the heart race and sets the tone for the record. Returning to a
more classic sound on "Just Like That", Yosh smatters syncopated
samples with UKG elements to create a throbbing dance track.
"Drifted" catches the listener off-guard - chilled out pads that
give way suddenly to layers of breaks that make for a dark and dirty jungle
breakdown, pushing at breakneck speed into "Hypnotise Me", a
rolling tool inflected with garage-esque melodies. EP closer "Gen
1" feels like the wind-down of a rave, stuttering breaks and echoed
vocals slowing to a sweaty, satisfied end |

‘Everybody and No one’. Clealry, Bingotoma Traore was not trying to get rich,
or entertain: he wanted to change the world. And all it took to get there was
four cassettes, all recorded between 1994 et 1998. In that time he went from
extreme poverty, sellings eggs in the streets and killing pigs at the
factory, to being the biggest pop star in his native country, Burkina Faso,
and a legend all over Western Africa. Corruption, ill governance, education,
colonisation… All his songs were history and philosophical lessons for the
ghetto youths, the unemployed, and the many people who could identify
themselves with him. He died 20 years ago, mortally wounded after going
through a car crash. Today, his videos still ranks millions of views on
social network. No one has forgotten him. And his fight is more relevant than
ever. Rest In Power Black So Man (1967-2002). Thank you to his son Ange Fela
Traore and his ex-wife Adji Sanon (to whom he dedicated the song ‘Adji’

Delsin's
next trick is a debut double 12" from Sentomea, an Amsterdam native,
real name Sander Schuurman, you might not have heard of but a real synth
freak. Exclusively producing his music in hardware-based live takes, and that
gives rise to perfectly imperfect stuff that feels visceral and alive. Often
making music with a visual connection, this EP is full of versatile 909 beats
and fizzing electronic textures. 'Relative Solace' is up first and is a
frosty house trip with bell textures and melancholic strings sounding all
celestial and heavenly. 'Wander' is all about a sludgy 909 groove being lit
up with bright strings and icy hi hat ringlets as dissonant pads stretch and
skew all about the arrangement then 'Fortitude Boogie' has classic Detroit
pads, a lovely broken rhythm and a funkateer bassline that makes the whole
cut dance and emotional dance. 'Fluid' is more stripped back and clean, with
rubbery 909 drums plodding below watery, gurgling synth sounds up top and
this most expressive and textural EP closes with the experimental FM
synthesis that is 'Matter' with its raw, off beat grooves and glassy
surfaces, and finally 'Reminiscent,' a horizontal, star gazing cut that
encourages you to lay back and day dream in the grass |

Back in 2010, Boris Bunnik
released his first full-length album, Machine Conspiracy, through the now
defunct Meanwhile label. Delsin are re-issuing it along with Love & Hate,
the EP that came at the same time and that features three tracks from the album.
Machine Conspiracy came a few years after Conforce had first emerged and was
a magnificent dub, techno and electro opus that made for a complete listen
from start to finish as well as offering up some key dancefloor tracks.
Showcasing the skills that have since made Conforce a household name in
underground circles, the album is full of analogue invention, seriously moody
atmospheres and non standard textures, patterns and feelings. Released on CD,

Since
he started producing music, Berlin-based American sound artist Jake Muir has
been obsessed with sampling. His 2018 album "Lady's Mantle" was
based on manipulated chunks of vintage Californian surf rock, and its
follow-up, 2020's midnight symphony "The Hum Of Your Veiled Voice"
was sourced from a wide variety of old records, and inspired by the work of
experimental turntablists like Marina Rosenfeld, Janek Schaefer and Philip
Jeck. On "Mana", Muir looks back to a misunderstood musical
movement. Around 1995, a group of New York producers and DJs - including DJ
Olive, DJ Spooky and Spectre - pioneered a genre-dissolving sound by unifying
hip-hop techniques with ideas pulled from dub, jungle, ambient music and
industrial noise. Badged "illbient", it was a short-lived genre
that felt like a high-minded psychedelic cousin of the UK's trip-hop. Muir
uses illbient as the springboard for "Mana", utilizing a selection
of samples to inform his frothy drones and foreboding atmospheres. He ushers
the material into 2021 by diverting it through his own contemporary
worldview, attempting to recreate the hyperreal fantasy histories of Japanese
RPGs (think "Dark Souls" and "Final Fantasy") and nod to
sensual, tactile soundscapes of European industrial labels Staalplaat and
Soleilmoon. The result is a magickal, sensory journey that's as physical as
it is representational. If the illbient producers were encouraging a
burgeoning experimental music landscape to emphasize the tactile feeling of
turntablism and sample manipulation, Muir is doing the same with
"Mana". Each track heaves and breathes not just with his cultural
reference points, but with layered, complicated emotions. We can hear joy,
sadness, desire and anguish, obscured by disintegrating noise, hallucinogenic
harmonies and sub-aquatic bass. It's electronic music that's rooted not in
technology, but in touch |

You
might think that Robert Hood is an artist who is content with the successes
he's achieved via his solo work and those alongside daughter, Lyric (as
Floorplan) but this is not a man who easily rests on his laurels so after a
long-time in the planning he is set to regenerate his much-loved Monobox
alias with a new EP in October followed by an artist album in November.
Originally launched in 1996 his Monobox sound spanned a trio of EPs on his
own M-Plant label, culminating in more releases including the 'Molecule'
album (in 2003) for French label Logistic, which later spawned a series of
remixes including those of Ricardo Villalobos and Matthew Dear. A brief
return came in 2014 as part of M-Plant's 20th anniversary celebrations, which
saw the release of a new Monobox 12", 'Film / Rectangle'. Speaking to
RBMA that year for one of their Fireside Chat interviews, Robert said:
"Monobox was an alien project. I read this book when I was probably
around 13 or 14. It was this ominous black box that came from some other
universe, and it was just sort of hovering over the planet, over a cornfield
somewhere." In Robert's mind the idea for the new EP and album is that
this vessel has been lying dormant for 40 or 50 years and is now beginning to
rise up again, or regenerate. His 'Forwardbase Kodai EP' features two
exclusive originals that will not appear on the forthcoming album |

Black
Chamber (Escape to the Sun)', out on Sdban Ultra, is the brand new single by
John Ghost. The Belgian band had been toying around with the idea of
collaborating with a different artist for some time, and decided to join
forces with Frank Wienk aka Binkbeats for this track. This Dutch producer,
percussionist and multi-instrumentalist previously remixed tracks by Aphex
Twin, Flying Lotus and Atoms For Peace. Norwegian producer Jørgen Træen,
well-known from his earlier collaborations with Jaga Jazzist, Kaizers
Orchestra, the Hubro-label and Sondre Lerche, signed on as co-producer and
took care of the final mix and mastering of 'Black Chamber (Escape to the
Sun)'. Træen was also the producer of Airships Are Organisms, the
internationally lauded second album by John Ghost. 'Black Chamber (Escape to
the Sun)' is reminiscent of that album's cinematic themes and dreamy musical
atmosphere, but has a more straightforward pop-direction because of
Binkbeats' contribution. The rhythmic approach is characteristic of the Dutch
percussionist, while the composition's dark sounds interact with frivolous
elements in a striking way. Frontman Jo De Geest: "In the studio
Binkbeats often works with audio design. He is particularly versatile with
this and has very strong personal views on the sound design of a project. Our
musical styles are a nice fit as well. As a group we also wanted to stress
the productional aspects and experiment with electronic components |

initial release on the new Futurepast label marks Davy's first output as a
producer, crystallising his endeavours in the studio and bearing witness to
his long-standing experiments in electronic music. Built between London and
Berlin over the last four years, The Long Now lays down the blueprints for
following ventures on the label: using old and new gear to create unique,
obscure soundscapes both outside of memory and away from nostalgic
projections of lost futures. In a timeless and precise collaboration, Davy
has brought together two historical figures for this release: 1990s R&S
Records associate David Morley mixed the tracks, while Simon Davey of The
Exchange lent his renowned mastering skills to the project. Temporality, time
travel and perception are key concepts for Davy, and not only in the EP's
title. The four stripped-down tracks move forwards, sideways and backwards in
a bid to get us lost - not in space but in what time might sound like should
we be swimming through it. Mysterious and ageless synths mesh with the beats
of an unnamed drum machine under Davy's control. We move through a non-linear
story told by three distinct forward-thinking techno titles: No Memories
Planned, Time Tubes and Causal Loop. Finally, the titular ambient track pans
out cinematically over the images left in our heads: an invitation to begin

"In
this album I was trying to explore the idea of pop music on PCP. PCP has
fantastic lore around it and I think the most fascinating thing about it is
that it seems as if many people have had these experiences where they took
PCP, it presented them with an alternative reality, and they accepted it
without question. It's as if that umbilical cord of knowing that you're high
is cut, and the person taking it is fully immersed in the trip. Not only that
but from some of the accounts, the alternate reality seems quite twisted and
perverse. There are reports of people disemboweling and eating each other, or
deciding that the best course of action is self-mutilation or castration, and
then emerging from the trip still convinced it was the right choice. Or even
the accounts of people gaining superhuman strength and fighting off 5 or 6
cops at once. It seems like there's something quite dark on the other side of
that door. So for this album I tried to write what I imagine the pop music of
that alternate reality might sound like. What would happen to the sugary
sweet, wet dream, corporate sponsored top 40 hits, if we dipped 'em in angel
dust and got "wet". What would happen if we slopped all of those
fun summer hits into the meat grinder of the PCP reality tunnel, and just
pushed them through. I like to imagine an intersection under an overpass in a
cyberpunk dystopian future. It's midnight and you can see the neon's from the
storefronts on the other side through the thick smog. A modded AE86 Corolla
pulls a left turn and you can hear the music pounding from the sound system
as the rubber peels underneath it. As it's drifting through the intersection,
smoke pouring out of the tiny gap at the top of the tinted windows, the music
pours out of the car like a thick syrup, engulfing us as we stand frozen for
a moment as they pass. This is what they were playing." |

together, building a culture of inclusion, diversity and tolerance. In the
tradition of original raves DURCH organizes solidarity events ranging from
parties, to art and community events, with the strong belief that raves are a
much needed place for people to come together, celebrate their diversity and
learn to respect each other. Musically DURCH is eclectic inspired by
hardcore, straight forward techno, ghetto and scouse house and 90s acid. We
proudly announce the release of our first vinyl record "dogged
boldness". This is a long held dream by the entire crew. With Femanyst,
Hybral, Marsch and Fluid we are happy to showcase four artists that are close
and dear to DURCH BLN/TLV. The record is a compilation of four hard-hitting,
inciting techno tracks. Rough, bold and aggravating, just the way we like it.
We are proud that we are able to continuously work with queer artists and to

The third release focuses on the
worlds we see within. "IVE" is a wonderful collaboration between a
Local sorcerer and Rambadu. During isolation they researched ways to escape
reality by traveling inward and explored the connections between our audible
and visual perception. By using the power of our voices we created an Image
Visualization Environment that can bring us to many places. "Nue"
represents our joy in life, the serene chants help us to cleanse our minds
and in "Oiwo" we get lost in space so we can rise back into a world
of light. To support us on this journey we invited Forest On Stasys from
Buenos Aires, Argentina for his interpretation. He has worked his magic
giving you a warm and groovy feeling while we dance towards freedom. Even
though we live in distant places it is still possible to share and feel each
other's energies. A connection we should never forget exists. All sleeves are
hand-made with love! |

Marcel
Vogel has cultivated a reputation for smooth, consistent and infectious
Detroit-influenced dance music with attitude. The Amsterdam-based polymath
blends live instrumentation and samples into groove-heavy beats, releasing
across many popular labels while also running two of his own and touring
across continents. Having teamed up last year with Dutch producer and
key-player Tim Jules for the raw single "Take Me Back", the two
return with a fresh pressing on Shall Not Fade showing off their authentic
soulful sound. Each track features a different vocalist, each bringing their
own skill to the fore; in the title track, Alessandre's honey-sweet and
porcelain-smooth vocal caress the playful keys for an instant earworm.
"This is When I Leave" strips the sound right down until only the
drum, like a heartbeat, and Khadija's wistful vocals remain, making for an
intimate experience. The B-side focuses on high-intensity instrumentals put
together by Vogel and Jules: a breathless funk and rhythm workout begins in
"Why Don't You Leave Me" with Hector Wijnbergen's infectious,
powerful words taking centre stage. This headsy beat continues in "Like
a Fish In The Water", LYMA's crooning subtly making an entrance and complemented
by delicate guitar lines, building to a crescendo |

Nukubus (AKA Jan Katsma - one
half of Syncom Data) returns with his first full solo release in 3 years,
'Para’. The record is a collection of dubby synth cycles rumbling with
restrained power and ever threatening to break into full acid eruptions.
Somewhat disparate to the artist's more danceable tracks included in
Dettmann's DJ Kicks comp or the SD inclusion Stingray's recent Kern mix, this
latest collection are more reminiscent of stunted fever dream spin-outs,
though not to say the incessant chug of Para 3 or wonky march of Para 2
wouldn't get bodies moving. Para is released on 12'' vinyl housed inside a

album full of hits! After a tour with The Darkness (who are obviously huge
GLC fans) the band is ready to hit it with their own brew of old-skool (90s)
hip-hop. Featuring just the finest soul samples and humour flavoured lyrics
about 30+ guys living still at their parents place ( Livin at home'),
gangster-wannabees ( Gangsta'), Fast-Food-addicts ( at the drive-thru') or
the final hymn to Notorious B.I.G. ( What would Biggie do'). The band is
always good for a story. So who could forget their appearance at the football
game Wales vs. England when they played Your Missus is a Nutter' and dedicated
it to David Beckham The record is limited to only 300 copies. So what you're
waiting for About the band: GLC is a welsh rap-group from Newport. The group
produces humorous, controversial and often explicit songs that satirise hip
hop, today's consumer society, the "chav" culture and life in
Suburbia. The group recorded 6 albums before gaining a major record deal and
were signed to the East/West record label, the home of rock band The
Darkness. Rumours suggest that GLC was signed after record label bosses heard
The Darkness playing GLC tracks whilst on tour. In August 2004, the group
reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart with "Guns Don't Kill People,
Rappers Do" |
