Propulsive
techno solicitations abound on Ideoma, the debut EP from Oscean, a
collaboration from Sebastián Galante, also known as Seph, and
Andrés Zacco. The two are figureheads of Argentina's techno sound, with
releases on labels such as Insurgentes, Echocord Colour and Ilian Tape over
the last decade. Galante and Zacco join forces for the first time with
inspiring effects, moving forward with vast paces, unshifting footsteps, with
uneven prisms of electronic rhythm. Its direct intent and crisp sonic detail
conjure a cinematic and nocturnal drive, unearthing subterranean pulses that
leave all in its wake. With Ideoma, Tresor Records presents a whirlwind of
dense movement and cosmic energy that twists on percussive bends and
distorting spirits. Spiral recalls natural phenomena, bound tight, with a
rugged texture like no other, as flickers of sound processing suggest
lift-off. The flanging Feral exudes a potent demeanour, wicked and unceasing.
The ebbing melodics of Spacion hark back to 90s ambient techno and yet
possess a rhythmic cut and thrust that navigates unchartered terrain.
Transmuting beyond planet earth, further into the extra-terrestrial, Galante
and Zacco mask fractal brush- strokes with hurrying rhythms. They smear
primitive and sharp sonics, pressed with dizzying resilience. The nosediving
FM synths of Austraal beckon a haunting trip, cloaked in a trance of motion
and forever eschewing all prediction |

on white vinyl of the 10 year anniversary re-issue of HOLLY GOLIGHTLY's
greatest album with 2 unreleased bonus tracks!. Sleeve notes by none other
than Jack White III. It's been out of stock for a while so we've decided to
make this re-issue a little bit special. Often cited as perhaps her best solo
album (so far, at least), "Truly She Is None Other" was recorded in
2002/3 at Toe-Rag Studios by Liam Watson and features the song "Tell Me
Now So I Know" which was picked for the main title theme for Jim
Jarmush's "Broken Flowers" movie. Along with the nine HOLLY
GOLIGHTLY originals the album features two Ray Davies songs ("Time Will
Tell" & "Tell Me Now So I Know"), along with "There's
An End" (penned by her friend Craig Fox from THE GREENHORNES). There's
also a fine version of Jessie Mae Robinson's "Black Night", a song
most famously covered by Muddy Waters. Backed by the cream of Toe-Rag's in
house musicians plus the HOLLY GOLIGHTLY band stalwarts Bruce Brand (THE
MILKSHAKES | THEE HEADCOATS) & John Gibbs (KAISERS | MASONICS) this is

Returning
to continue Shall Not Fade's Season Series with a second LP, Joe Newham
serves up harmonious and glimmering jazz infusions under his Gavinco moniker.
The Brighton-based producer saw success with his Dumont LP earlier this year,
and fans will recognise his smooth composition immediately on Beriza.
"West Horizon" begins the record, an expansive slow burner with
haunting vocals, leaving room for a club beat that sets the tone going
forward. Field recordings feature prominently on the title track, a laid back
style which evokes tropical heat and lazy evenings, easing you into
"Savoy's" dance floor grooves complemented by syncopated hand
percussion. Hints of sax and strings provide the ear candy on
"Momento", a gentle poolside jazz exploration. "Like
This" is punchier, tight funk riffs contrasting discordant piano bits
which swirl to an uptempo rhythm. "Creative Times" centres its
flute melodies while the rumble of sub bass slowly swells into a perfect
pairing of dance music and jazz. The closing track continues this energy.

Sons
of Alpha Centauri are the UK's original instrumental stalwarts. Formed in
2001 they released their atmospheric and progressive debut to acclaim in 2007
and since then proceeded to develop their instrumental approach having been
accepted and adopted by instrumental luminaries Karma to Burn and Yawning
Man. SOAC have released multiple split records, undertaken several
collaborations and toured extensively with Karma to Burn since 2009 and have
also formed Yawning Sons with members of Yawning Man. The collaboration
heralded involvement from Scott Reeder (Kyuss), Wendy Rae Fowler (Queens of
the Stone Age) releasing several albums to critical acclaim in 2009 and 2021
both widely referred to as cult classics. Push is a soundtrack that blends
the instantly recognisable sonic landscape of SOAC with the wrought emotional
tone of Far and the epic backbone of Will Haven. This milestone album was
recorded by Lance Jackman of EightFourSeven in Sacramento and engineered and
mixed by Dan Lucas. This album has been mastered by the legendary Nick
Zampiello (Cave In, Converge, ISIS) and presented impeccably by Exile on

Stargazing
from the sands of the Niterói beach, Tempos Futuros is low-end-led Brazilian
futurism from one of Brazil’s most prolific and influential bassmen. As one
third of legendary trio Azymuth, Alex Malheiros has pioneered a unique fusion
of space-funk, samba and jazz since the early seventies. His playing can be
heard on the records of Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, Roberto Carlos, Marcos
Valle, and Mark Murphy (to name a few), and he’s performed and toured with
everyone from Stevie Wonder to Chick Corea. Written and recorded in Niterói,
Brazil, overlooking Guanabara and the beaches, mountains and forests of Rio
de Janeiro, Tempos Futuros has deep roots in Brazilian soil. The rhythms of
Malheiros’ homeland have always permeated his music. But just like the Oscar
Niemeyer designed Niterói Contemporary Art Museum which stands spaceship-like
over the water, Tempos Futuros - while inspired by terrestrial forms, reaches
out, deep into the great unknown. Produced by acclaimed London-based producer
Daniel Maunick, who has worked with Marcos Valle, Azymuth, Terry Callier, and
Ivan Conti, the funk comes full circle. Daniel’s father Jean-Paul “Bluey”
Maunick and Alex Malheiros shared a reciprocal stream of influence throughout
the 80s, between London and Rio; Azymuth and Incognito; brit-funk and
samba-funk. But just as with Azymuth’s music, you can also hear the influence
of stateside jazz-funk masters like Roy Ayers, Weather Report, Lonnie Liston
Smith, Mtume and Pleasure. Tempos Futuros features Alex’s daughter, a
Brazilian star in her own right, vocalist Sabrina Malheiros, Brazilian
percussion master Sidinho Moreira, London based saxophonist Sean Khan, Marcos
Valle’s go-to drummer Massa, and Brazilian keyboard player Dudu Viana.
Featuring the late Azymuth keyboard maestro Jose Roberto Bertami on Fender
Rhodes, the title track “Tempos Futuros” was originally recorded as a demo in
1995. On this finished version, Alex Malheiros used Bertami’s original
keyboard take, explaining the posthumous release.Tempos Futuros will be
released via Far Out Recordings on vinyl LP, CD and digitally on the 26th
November 2021 |

Arad,
real name Dara Smith, first joined the VOITAX catalogue in June 2020. Back
then, the Irish artist served us up with "Radiance Haze" - a
6-track EP, spanning from heavy-hitting breaks to the ethereal ambience, with
heavy features of Smith's vocals. Known for his multidisciplinary vision on
music, he has also previously made seminal moves with his work as one half of
Lakker, alongside Eomac, dropping groundbreaking music on heavyweight labels
such as R&S, Blueprint and Stroboscopic Artefacts. For his second EP on
VOITAX, Smith now returns with five beautifully crafted tracks that he titles
"Augmented Fantasy". While following a similar approach, he does
not fail to expand his repertoire of celestial dream-like atmospheres, which
he carefully surrounds with a whole variety of vocals, and accurately placed
broken drum patterns. In addition to his own singing, Arad also presents two
impressive collaboration tracks, in which one of them features the voice of
Stine Omar, also widely known as one half the Berlin-based pop duo EASTER.
Driving rhythmics and processed, grainy vocals turn this piece into
guaranteed hit material. Another collaboration with the befriended vocalist
and music producer Nina Hynes serves as a touching closing chapter for this
brilliantly produced, eclectic 5-tracker. All pieces are perfectly glued
together while keeping their very individual character and soundscapes. The
listener is certainly left with an augmented fantasy, as well as a curiosity
to hear more to come from the Irish talent |

No one sculpts
volts & frequencies into a story quite like David Morley. For
Futurepast's third release, he has delivered a precise rendering of its
vision to transcend temporal associations and perceptions. In the title track
"Boundary Travels", he ascends quickly into a weighty melodic line
that oscillates like the natural intonations of an inner monologue, built
upon a foundation of tightly knit hits and bleeps. "Limbo" travels;
the story unfolds in the infinitesimal margin where intensity becomes
softness, hesitation becomes resolution, and boundaries become intersections.
Sounds drift past, above, and below in "Crushing Pressure" as if a
city, or its memory, was suddenly suspended in a black hole. Boundary Travels

Shkema's
debut EP 'Kronikos' is a double release with four originals and four remixes.
The author describes it as 'world news show, where each song represents a
different story'. Some of them he has experienced himself, some are hearsay
from TV news programs, and some are actually imaginary. Stories are not
really related - just like in the news. 'Ispanija' was created during a
friend's band rehearsal. Psychedelic vocals sounded interesting in Shkema's
headphones while he was watching soundless singers and the muted musicians.
The true reason why this track is called 'Ispanija' is still unknown to this
day. According to Shkema, 'Ola' is an allegory of Plato's cave. It's a story
about prisoners, chained in the cave and the only moving thing they could see
was a passing shadow - quite deep, uh? Justin Strauss and Max Pask recently
have joined up to form new project Each Other. True dance floor legends
delivered bass-busy remix of 'Ispanija'. It could probably be best described
as 'juicy distorted badboy from New York you don't want to mess with'.
Moscow's finest - Simple Symmetry - joined the pack and went back to the
roots. Their remix for 'Ola' is future clubbing classic, four to the floor
banger with a drop perfect for pogo |

Hot on the heels
of AUS' recent releases from Breach, Huxley and Bwana they ready their next
offering from Irish duo and long term label affiliates Bicep. Aptly timed for
the festival months, their 'Just' EP follows up a series of self-released
titles which include collaborations with Ebony and Midland and is an
impassioned bundle of broken beats, shimmering synth lines and rapturous
piano chords. The title track kicks things off and suffuses a broken kick and
snare combo with a poignant sequence and heart-rending synth strings. A vocal
refrain drops in and out throughout a lucent breakdown before () lays a soft,
filtered croon over a swelling piano motif. Tension is astutely balanced,

reggae band X-O-Dus are best known for their single English Black Boys,
produced by Dennis ‘Blackbeard’ Bovell and released on Factory Records (Fac
11) in February 1980. This remastered compilation collects together 7 of
their best tracks and is limited to 500 copies on 180 gsm vinyl (plus digital
copy) Talent-spotted by Joy Division manager Rob Gretton, X-O-Dus performed
at live events such as Zoo Meets Factory Halfway (August 1979) and Factory By
Moonlight (April 1980). In time-honoured Factory fashion Fac 11 was released
almost a year late, being the only reggae record to appear in a sleeve
designed by Peter Saville. Digitally remastered by Peter Beckmann in 2021,
this 7 track vinyl edition includes both sides of the Factory single as well
as 5 album demos recorded in 1980. For optimum sound quality the album is
pressed on 180 gsm vinyl. The vinyl inner bag contains sleeve notes by former
manager Martin Dunlop, along with archive images including previously unseen
shots from the Moonlight Club show on 4 April 1980 by Peter Anderson. Praise
for the CD edition released in 2012: ‘One of the most remarkable chapters in
British reggae history’ (The Wire); ‘A wonderful mix of lovers rock, soul and

Bring Me The Head of Kyle Bobby
Dunn is a full length triple vinyl reissue of the original 2012 double
compact disc album from Canadian composer Kyle Bobby Dunn. It was recorded at
Bunce Cake studios in Brooklyn and remote parts of Ontario. The compositions
are mostly long, slowly evolving minimal ambient and drone based works
created from electric guitar processing. Perhaps more cinematic than previous
albums, some pieces have since appeared in BBC documentaries and independent
films over the years since its release. The original recordings on this
Diggers Factory vinyl edition, however, have been remastered and practically
rebuilt from the fog of their initial masters which have often been
considered the composer's most quiet and even translucent works. Iranian
composers and engineers, Milad Bagheri and Maryam Sirvan have brought out a
certain clarity and freshness to the music and Dunn has considered it an
almost completely different listening experience from the originals |

Zahn drops ‘Feed The Fire EP’ on Radio Slave’s Rekids ahead of full LP in
November. Active since the early 000’s, Dustin Zahn’s hypnotic and driving
techno has consistently caught the ears of top DJs and labels, with releases
and remixes on Chris Liebing’s CLR, James Ruskin’s Blueprint, and of course
Radio Slave’s Rekids. Alongside his productions, Zahn runs the Enemy Records
imprint, having released music from Regal, Truncate, and DVS1 alongside his
own music since 2004. For his latest offering on Rekids, which arrives ahead
of his first full-length album since 2014, Zahn leads the charge with four
direct and expertly constructed techno cuts. Title track ‘Feed The Fire’
makes use of a snaking synth line, evolving in tandem with the sound of classic
drum machines atop a pounding 4/4 pattern, while ‘Heresy’ leans towards the
twilight hours, with tripped out bleeps, chugging percussion, and deep
chords. On the flip, ‘Profane Purposes’ sees bubbling synthesis alongside
raucous claps and vocal cuts, making for a high octane techno bomb before
‘Golden Hour’ closes out the release, lowering the energy levels as twinkling
keys, blissful pads, and dusty hats craft a warm and inviting atmosphere |
