Reissue on vinyl for this
full-length debut from British blues-rockers Spooky Tooth. It has a tone
similar to Traffic with its psychedelic take on the influential pop and soul
music of the '60s. A few cover tunes including Janis Ian's 'Society's Child'
and the Nashville Teens' 'Tobacco Road' are included, but original songs like
the soulful ballad 'It Hurts You So' and 'Bubbles' (with its Beach Boys
sensibility) are the real standouts. The cheery, psychedelic 'It's All About
a Roundabout' is the catchiest number by far. On this dreamy cut,
vocalist&keyboardist Gary Wright demonstrates some sharp melodic and
compositional instincts. Although Spooky Tooth eventually became better-known
for their straightforward blues-rock, the trippy pop of It-s All About counts
as a career highlight for the group. Fans of late-'60s British rock are
definitely advised to check out this impressive release |

Spanish flamenco artist from the old school, trained since childhood in the
school of life and singing twenty-four hours a day. An impressive performer
with an absolutely personal style that clearly differentiates him from all of

Watch
out for this rarity. You know the Tree People, late 70s predecessors of the
ongoing new folk movement in the USA. You know their 1979 debut album and you
know it's a masterpiece... but oh well, did you know about their second
album??? Surely not, especially because it was a cassette only release at the
time with a very short print. Luckily enough, the Tree People guys kept the
mastertapes of these recordings and we're proud to be making this wonderful
music available now. After the CD version released last month, here's the
vinyl also with splendid sound quality. The music here is equally as good, if
not better, than the self-titled debut and a real must for any folk and
psych-folk lover. Acoustic guitars, subtile percussions, wonderful flute work
and some warm vocals, but overall a real big dose of quality and originality
that makes the Tree People music be absolutely ahead of its time and
therefore so much admired today. A real beauty! Comes with an insert

occasion? A Francesco Tristano’s hand behind a set of five killer tracks that
conform ‚Piano, Hats & Stabs EP’, an EP made for open-eared and
open-minded listeners. Tristano, virtuoso pianist and composer known for his
taste for the electronic and hybrid, has been blowing away dance music-heads
for a while thanks to his impressive live sets solo and alongside the likes
of Moritz von Oswald and Carl Craig - with whom he recently appeared on a
special edition of Boiler Room. Now, Get Physical has the honor to be hosting
the musician’s even deeper delve into the world of techno. Inspired by an
“ongoing quest to unite the sounds of the acoustic grand piano with
electronic synthesizers, sequences and drum loops", the ‚Piano, Hats
& Stabs EP’ draws from over nine months of studio sessions all the way
from Paris and Utrecht to Barcelona and Rome. A tense and reeling monster of
a release that would seem aimed at leaving you breathless - and setting dance

One' is an Ep preceding Ben Klock’s debut album 'One', which will be released
at the end of feburary on Ostgut Ton. It features four tracks, of which only
one, 'Init Two', will be included on the album. These tracks already give a
great impression of where 'One' is heading: Classic techno with heart and
soul. On an equal footing with eachother, all tracks display an even more

Did
you know ? Voguing, which gained mainstream exposure through Malcolm McLaren
or Madonna, owes a little of its fortune to France : since the late eighties,
this underground movement born in the Harlem ballroom scene fascinated the
very first missionaries of house music à la française, whether they’d be DJs,
journalists or promoters. Around the world, most of the wonderful Queens of
Vogue had a break through with their performances in music videos on MTV, but
nowhere else other than in Paris did we take this New-York gay and
multicultural counter-culture so seriously. It didn’t caught the attention of
young producers nor rub off on the pavement of any other city. Therefore, it
is without surprise that with their upcoming album « House of Melancholy »,
Acid Washed, a duo that arose from the second wave of French house, are
bringing back a concentrate of everything that house music encloses (we will
never say it enough) of polictical, social, utopian, and subversive matters.
Because it’s in the legendary club culture, with its heroes and its secret
stories, that Andrew Claristidge and Richard d’Alpert found the clay, the
ideas and the outline of pretty much everything that they wanted to inject
into Acid Washed. Two house music and techno lovers swaying between nocturnal
experiences and encyclopedias, both musicians picked up the house nation as
an haven, a home to live in, a place to learn and exchange. One grew up next
to the cradle of French techno (Grenoble), the other was trained on classical
music, new-wave and punk : Andrew and Richard did indeed cross paths around a
substrate named Daft Punk, but above all and later on, around the sprawling
club culture which came to life at the same moment in Chicago, Detroit and
Manchester, and gave birth to the duo. Considered as a return to the origins
of house and techno music after the euphoric unpacking of a big bangish first
album, « House of Melancholy » however proposes a synthetic cocktail, highly
indiosyncratic : a return to the origins of their own house and their own
techno. In this way, the ones who would only see Acid Washed as a pair of
skillful technicians of vintage synths and references are in for a surprise.
We won’t dance nor dream to the songs of « House of Melancholy » like to any other
album, always higher and louder, and a little bit stronger too. Recorded
after going twice around the world, « House of Melancholy » is the soundtrack
of Claristidge and d’Alpert’s lives, following the leap into the void. As
Richard says, ‘‘My melancholy always travels with me…’’, and it’s especially
the emotional paradox of electronic music as it resonates in our hearts that
seems to finally reveal itself |

This vinyl only release is a very personal statement from an artist known for

his mark in the music scene through pivotal releases on Silent Season and
M_Rec Ltd. His profile fits perfectly as Wolfskuil’s Limited sublabel is
dedicated to left of centre releases aimed at leftfield dancefloors. 1989.1
is a perfect setbuilder or afterhour anthem with it’s lush string
arrangements and offbeat groove. It’s counterpart 1989.2 is more meaty

returns with The Warning. The London-based producer is skillful in his
creation of break-heavy, dubbed-up tracks to fire up the party, and blown up
with releases on Dansu Discs and Holding Hands under his belt this year. This
EP hits from the start; hyper breaks meet down low sub bass on "How We
Roll" in a minimalist roller. "2 Times" goes back to the
classics with a stylish two step groove and expansive diva vocals, one for
the old schoolers while the frenetic energy of "It Goes" will
rumble easily through a club. Yosh slows the pace for "Shape The
Future", which grows from a staccato rhythm into a cheeky distorted

Kohib,
AKA Øivind Sjøvoll from Sortland in the north of Norway, has been an
important part of the club-scene in the town of Tromsø (the birthplace of the
Northern Disco scene) since 1997, first as a DJ, later as a club organizer.
In 2012, he started a string of dancefloor EP's, and the first one,
"Solar Day EP", had a fairly limited distribution outside Norway.
So, here is finally a "proper" re-release! The "Solar Day
EP" is a rousing four-tracker of superb dance tunes. The selection
features prime examples of Norwegian electronic music ranging from nu-disco
to slinky house music to downtempo electronica. "So Good" leads the
pack with a high charged house music rhythm, fancy bursts of percussion and
bass line pulsations, and the appealing vocals of Dagny (yes,
"that" Dagny, of "Backbeat", "Wearing Nothing"
and "Love You Like That" fame) which beckon the listener to
"take off all your clothes and dance with me!" This one's begging
for immediate deployment on the dance floor. Kohib touches on more
Italo-flavored grooviness with "Don't Tease The Bumblebee" which
rides and glides like the flying insect in the title should. A bouncy low end
and floating synths add to the cosmic romp. "Escape Velocity"
lessens the tempo but fizzles with intriguing elements and melodies.
Seemingly plucked synth lines and rolling, reverb-ed arpeggios evoke
slow-motion bob-sledding across the Norwegian tundra. The set closes with the
eponymous "Solar Day", a mildly uplifting piece withdriving drums,
buzzy, throbbing synth action, and more delicious Italo-inspired loveliness |

Slave’s colossal ‘The Revenge’ track now gets expert remix treatment from
Klasse Wrecks label head Luca Lozano. Luca has also released on the likes of
Optimo, Sex Tags UFO and Unknown to the Unknown and brings a raw, acid tinged
sound to his beats. As a performer Lozano’s versatile DJ sets span between
raw house, cosmic disco and dynamic breakbeat selections, which is why he’s
become a regular at key clubs across Europe and tasteful festivals like
Houghton. His ‘How Bow Dis’ Remix’ is solid and features wild old school
flavours in its huge drum breaks, a monstrous bassline and dark filtered
vocals. It bangs for seven superbly heavy minutes with plenty of twists and
turns along the way, and will transform any club or warehouse into a
writhing, sweaty mass in seconds. On the flip, his ‘How Bow Dah’’ version is
based around elastic drums and rumbling bass while a loose synth line darts
about up top. Some distant synths bring a sense of serenity to the madness
and so despite the physical impact of this one, it also has real emotion to
