Dominic Glynn together with
Justin Mackay are both very respected producers out of the early underground
Techno and Progressive London scene, concealed behind various alias as single
artists and as a duo, releasing music for some of the most seminal labels
such as Infonet and Rising High and working part-time providing BBC

their own label No Bones, a platform based on creative freedom and quality

Following a four-year hiatus, our
main imprint is back with a new outing by our long-time friend, Laslo. His
previous works found home on quality record labels like Greta Cottage
Workshop, Greta Cottage Woodpile and Soundscape Versions. Now he is delivering

Maybe Tomorrow is the only album
released by the British group The Iveys, who later renamed themselves
Badfinger. It was issued in 1969 on the Apple label in Japan, West Germany
and Italy. Although the album was scheduled to be released worldwide, the release
in the US and UK at that time was halted without explanation. Many reasons
for halting the album have been suggested by the band and Apple employees,
but the most common theory is that Apple's newly hired president, Allen
Klein, stopped all non-Beatle releases on Apple until he could examine the
company's finances, which were in disarray at the time |

Colombian sisters Elia and
Elizabeth Fleta recorded a handful of songs between 1972 and 1973,
accompanied by Jimmy Salcedo and his group La Onda Tres, mixing soft-pop with
a touch of tropical-pastoral funk, singer-songwriter sweetened by the subtle
perfume of Caribbean music and psychedelia. These elements blended
graciously, brimming with freshness, in a perfect partnership of sharp
melodies with lyrics inspired by a genuine juvenile curiosity about life's
mysteries, love and nature in their simplest forms. This album shows a
certain garage influence soften by the sweet voices of Elia and Elizabeth. So
it is not surprising that the record includes 'Pesadilla', an uncredited
version of Paul Revere and the Raiders' 'Kicks'. First time vinyl reissue of
this album that includes Elia y Elizabeth's sublime anthem 'Soy Una Nube'.

Leon’s
Futura imprint returns with is 4th outing and the burgeoning label delivers
another edgy underground EP this time courtesy of Roof Club, Italy resident
LUCIO. LUCIO has been providing the Banda Sonora at Roof Club in Isernia,
Italy as its highly regarded resident for the last 4 years, and has released
on YAY recordings whilst also founding Roof Club Record label back in 2019.
LUCIO joins FUTURA and delivers a slick 2 track EP which also comes complete
with two remixes, one from Mark Ambrose and MADVILLA. The first track on the
release is Panic Zone. Eerie synths lead the way and combine well with the
well executed 909 beats and classy old school synths give this a distinct
flavour which is perfect for heads. The second track on the release is Mystic
Area. From the very first second this sounds like it comes straight from the
90’s and something you’d hear back in the day at the Warehouse in Chicago.
The smooth old school synth chords combine with well worked vocal samples and
electronic bassline and 909 beats deliver a sure fire underground winner.
Next up are the remixes and the first remix comes from Mark Ambrose. The
Crayon label boss and owner has been producing forward thinking and abstract
Tech House for 20 years, releasing not only on his own imprint but also on

The 'black album' projected its
impact onto the live performance of a band that was becoming more and more
solid on stage. That tour had many unforgettable concerts, and among them,
the one in Bilbao on a Halloween night when Manu Chao and Fidel Nadal knew
how to connect the frequency of Radio Bemba. The album that came out of that
recording has 'Borreroak baditu milaka aurpegi' tattooed in its marrow:
absolutely devastating and without a single chink, it can be read in the
folds of a work that is more imposing than aggressive, a faithful reflection

Los
Prisioneros is the most successful Chilean band of all time, with fans all
over Latin America. Influenced by The Clash first album, musically simple but
with lyrics full of teenage anger and deep social comments, 'La Voz de los
80' is the soundtrack of the dark days of Pinochet's dictatorship. 'La Voz de
los '80' (Remaster 2021), is the first album by Los Prisioneros, released by
the indie record label Fusion in December 1984 and it came an instant hit.
Time has proved that this is the most important album of Chilean rock.
Written and produced mostly by their lead singer and bass player, Jorge
Gonzalez, the album is a collection of Latin American rock classics, with
anthems like 'La voz de los '80', 'Sexo', 'Latinoamerica es un pueblo al sur
de Estados Unidos' o 'Paramar' - songs that has punk, pop and reggae as their
main influences. 'La Voz de los 80' is a masterpiece of street rock, from a
band from the suburbs, with the raw sound of a garage band and lyrics that
were saying everything everybody wanted to say but couldn't because of

et cetera, the writer/director of "What Is A Group?" (the world's
only rock 'n' roll sci-fi documentary exploitation film), the host of
"Soft Focus," the musician-on-musician chat show that preceded all
the pretenders, and, more recently, his first full-length picture « The Lost
Record ». On this new album, he plays minimalist electronic rock'n'roll with

Feel's newest signing Private Agenda are taking us back to a time when soul
first met synthesisers, shoulder pads were as vital as the right Berlin
address and Sheffield met the sonic Caribbean playground of Compass Point. It
was from this juxtaposed melting pot that the early seeds of Alfredo's
Balearic Beat movement gathered pace and 'Déjà Vu' is a cocktail of Linda Di
Franco, a Roxy Music esque aesthetic, bound together by elements of the
inventive, contemporary production values of artists such as Todd Terje and
Prins Thomas. 'Freefalling' on the reverse proves a fitting reflection of
Private Agenda's wider vision. Finding sonic roots in early Balearicism –
ethereal vocal lines over delicate percussion. Uniting their disparate tastes
and talents for the first time, the trio's debut single, 'Déjà Vu', provides
a wonderful introduction to their world? where production values are as
detailed as they are bombastic? lyrics, as reflective as they are bold.
Private Agenda are Martin, Sean & Nick. Martin's first synthesiser was an
organ. He met Sean in German class. Sean was famous at school for his
Mercuryesque indierockband stage presence and was especially dedicated to the
art of songwriting. A few years later in Berlin, Martin moves in with Nick.
The first time they worked together, they went for hours straight without a
break. "I wanted to watch him mix music forever, it was magic,"
Martin recalled. Although it could have happened anywhere, Berlin was the

Wilted
Woman is a producer whose left-field approach to electronic music emerges
from an experimentally minded and refreshingly unapologetic attitude, forged
on the punk and DIY scenes of the East Coast of the United States, and more
recently, Berlin. Across her debut release for Phantasy, she contributes two
unpredictable and outlandish cuts of hyper-modern club culture, complimented
by a remix from fellow outsider alchemist, Laurel Halo. ‘Lon Lon Night
Vision’ is a creeping, industrial interpretation of acid sounds, peeling away
layers of tension to reveal a melody straight from the cold heart of a John
Carpenter soundtrack, resolving in uniquely dystopian funk. ‘No Stinger’
immediately unleashes a burrowing, cybernetic ear-worm of a hook, biochemically
blossoming into a sublime, undulating landscape of contemporary trance, rich
in ideas and sonic euphoria. Finally, Laurel Halo turns the screws on the
original mix of Lon Lon Night Vision, extracting an almost impossibly taut
slice of techno, building raw tension towards a blistering rush of electro

The
Ethiopians are one of the great vocal groups to come out of Jamaica. Singing
songs of life and times as they found them, themes that resonated with the
people of the Island that made them such a treasured group. Lenard Dillon (b.
9 December, 1942, Port Antonio, Jamaica) the founding member of the
Ethiopians began his singing career at Clement 'Coxonne' Dodd's Studio One.
Initially he recorded under the name of Jack Sparrow, and backed by the
Wailers, cutting 'Ice Water' and 'Suffering In The Land'. Under The Wailers
encouragement, he went on to form his own vocal group. Recruiting singers
Stephan Taylor (b.1944, Portland, Jamaica) and Aston 'Charlie' Morris to
become The Ethiopians. They cut 'Live Good', 'Why You Gonna Leave Me Now' and
'Owe Me No Pay Me'. Although receiving favourable response, Aston Morris
decided to leave the band and the remaining pair carried on and cut 'I'm A
Free Man' and 'Don Dead Already' and 'For You'. On meeting contract builder
Leebert Robertson who had recently returned to live in Jamaica, ashad he
wanted to get into the music business, a session was booked for Treasure Isle
Studios. The session produced their seminal 'Train To Skaville' track, which
became an immediate hit in Jamaica and in the UK, when in 1967 it reached
number 40 in the charts. They also cut 'Engine 54', which became the title of
their debut album. Its follow up 'I Need You / Do It Sweet', did not fare so
well and the band moved over to Sonia Pottinger's stable, where they cut 'The
Whip / Cool It Amigo' which revived their fortunes and proved another big hit
for the band. Two more hits followed 'Stay Loose Mama' and 'The World Goes
Ska', after which the band decided to return to a trio, adding Melvin
'Mellow' Reid to the line up. The band now hit another run of successes with
producer JJ Johnson 'Everything Crash, 'Gun Man', 'Hong Kong Flu' and 'The
Selah'. Many hits followed leading the band to work with a variety of
Jamaican producers. Such tracks as 'I Want To Be a Better Man, ' Conquering Lion',
'Fire A Mus Mus' Tail', and the timeless 'Reggae Hit The Town' to name a few.
Two albums 'Reggae Power' (1969) and 'Woman Capture Man' (1970), pulled a lot
of these tunes together. Sadly Taylor was killed in 1975 after been struck by
a van in a road accident. Dillon returned to Port Antonio till 1977, when he
was persuaded to return to Treasure Isle studios with producer Niney The
Observer and cut the Rasta based album 'Slave Call'. Additional members who
joined for this album were Bro Fatty, Bro Ewing, Bro T, Mello and Hychi Dread |

Having
just announced his first solo Ibiza residency, Dance or Die, Nic Fanciulli
continues his impressive run of form with a long-awaited debut on Crosstown
Rebels. Entitled Miracle (Body Rock), the two-track release includes a
stunning remix from esteemed UK talent Paul Woolford. Beginning things in
fine form is Nic Fanciulli’s original Miracle (Body Rock). Whispering
percussion combines with the subtle plucking of guitar strings, as echoing
vocals are layered underneath soft, moving pads to create a well-rounded,
moving number. Paul Woolford’s Endless Bassline remix comes next. Stuttering
hi-hats provide rhythm as the titular rolling bassline chugs on, whilst
toneful piano keys merge with reverberating, soulful vocals. Unique, yet
staying true to the original, the addition of distorted claps helps create
the perfect dancefloor cut; but it is the re-singing of classic Jomanda’s
‘Make My Body Rock’ vocals that links both tracks in a moving, emotive
fashion. A name synonymous with electronic music culture, Nic Fanciulli is a
DJ, producer, festival curator and label owner whose career has spanned two
decades. It was in 2005 that Nic founded Saved Records, an imprint that is
now synonymous with releases from some of the scenes greatest, including Adam
Beyer and Hot Since 82. But it was his latest release on Rekids, titled
Understand, that further cemented his reputation as a standout music
producer, with a clear-cut ear for the perfect dancefloor melody |

After
two in as many years, low-key German producer Yør returns to similarly low
key Dutch imprint Purple Maze for his third full outing on the label in the
form of the 'Sublimation EP'. Across the four tracks Yør continues to explore
the same frayed and decayed, abstract electronics as he has in the past, with
distant kins like Kassem Mosse and Morphosis still resonating. The opener and
title track is an intense and moody, nerve jangling affair where huge
searching synths pan in the background of grinding drums and dense percussive
clatter before 'Gravity', with its heavyweight and churning drums, trudges on
through sonic scuzz and lo-fi blizzards as a backlit melody keeps things from
growing all too dark and abstract. The many different contrasting surfaces
and counterpointed moods make Yør's sounds as arresting as they are. The
dystopian, tortured industrial funk of 'Parallels' with its slapping claps
and decaying percussive lines are proof of that, where through chaos comes
beautiful order. Closer 'Trust' holds its head a little higher, more
spiralling synths and bleepy fax machines tones add a sense that the
apocalypse is coming and machines will take over, but there's enough organic
beauty in the deeply hidden melodies to keep the track from being all too
hostile |

For
his sophomore effort with the Visionquest family, Bodj teams up with fellow
Greek native and audio engineer, Roksi, to create the Weird Science EP. The
four track EP starts with title track "Weird Science". The slow
burner emerges with etherial pads, tight percussion and warm sub bass, as
toms and a reverb drenched vocal emerges. Atonal synths pop in and squelch as
the track drives forward, keeping the uptempo momentum high. A2, "Otis
AX", keeps the tempo poppin', with beautiful chords dropping in,
supported by a nice, round bass that bumps the pads along as synths enter and
sprinkle away. The track stays bouncy with chopped arpeggiated synths,
tactfully dipping their toe in the water. The B1, "Flowtec",
indulges the listener in the dirtier, late night club vibe that we all enjoy
so much, while minimal textures, murky vox and bleeps and synths stab in and
out. Minor chord rhodes stabs pop in and out until deep pads fill out the
sound in a luxurious way to finish out the track, without losing any of the
steam it started with. "Tomodachi" rounds out the EP, keeping the
vibes high and quick with another dope bassline. This offering stays true to
the bassline and delayed chord stabs, and acts more as a bumping dj tool for
the release, sure to keep the vibe going. One things for sure this standout
release won't be putting anyone to bed! |

Nostalgia
is a hell of a drug. No one in particular is renowned for that cliched
statement, but when something is so universal, who cares who said it? And is
there anything more nostalgia inciting than a blurry film, bursting with
colours but aged just perfectly so that you know, it's from a past which will
never return. Het Jaarronde, a 1977 short film by Dutch amateur filmmaker Jan
van Keulen is a picture perfect study of Dutch rural life. Filmed at an
observer's distance it, as the title states, follows the Netherland's
throughout the year. It's not bombastic and grand like 1967's John Fernhout
film, Sky Over Holland. Instead it's modest, even shy, as if afraid to
document too much because to document means to acknowledge change and loss.
For the second time, Nous'klaer and The Netherlands Institute for Sound and
Vision's RE:VIVE initiative have teamed up for a split 12" featuring two
new film scores of Nous'klaer staple, Mattheis and newcomer Ranie Ribeiro.
Each artist was given half the film to compose for, resulting in two
sonically disparate pieces that are emotionally twinned. Mattheis offers a
lush, heart melting wave of pianos and synths and field recordings to appease
his own inner-nostalgia, as the images struck an immediate chord with his
childhood and youth in Goeree Overflakkee, South-Holland. Ranie Ribeiro,
known under his solo moniker for his slamming chopped beats and earlier club
oriented releases as D-Ribeiro unveils his talents as a harpist for the first
time. His work, is an encapsulation of a calm autumn day. A work in the
present rather than a reflection on the past. But as the day fades into
night, one can't wish for it to stay, just a little bit longer, because who
knows what tomorrow is going to bring? |
