delivers a super nice fragile and deep techno album on Trip. Eight tracks of
versatile techno tracks full of tension and atmosphere. Recommended! Rising
Dutch talent Deniro (aka Reynier Hooft van Huijsduijnen) returns to with a
double EP of original works. The Tape Records member previously appeared on
the label as part of the concept albums. 'Mendoza' is an 8-track quest into
the spheres of polarity and tension. Anxious distortions jitter in controlled
spaces, angular melodies disfigure warm tones and frenetic cross rhythms
flutter through minimalist forms. Contrasting messages are weaved together
with precision to facilitate a dialogue where dancefloor function and
cerebral stimulation interact. Deniro navigates his way round vintage gear
with a meticulous accuracy, held together by an intuitive ear for timbre, an
ingrained passion for Detroit soul, and a firm understanding of sonic

Taking
its place as opener is the title track “Nokaut”. Stomping along with intent,
the walloping kick and ravey 303 elements coerces you to move. The robust
vocal sample spouts repeatedly while the 303 builds and fades, before
storming back in with slapping hi-hats. MK’s Random Mod Edit follows. His
rendering is a warped and disjointed edit, but still manages to retain the
energy and soul of the original. Showing off his production skills, he
transforms the once acid-tinged melody and turns it into a jolting, jittery
tune that allows the percussion to take centre stage. The galloping kick drum
and searing hot cymbals push the tempo as snare drums and hi-hats layer and
fall over each other. On the flip, “Scream” is a step away from the
relentless, high powered rave energy of the A side and a step into the
deeper, darker side of techno. Booming kick drums sound out over a powerful
baseline and snapping detuned percussions. An echoing woodblock is struck and
fades into the distance while the brooding melody takes control. Last up is
“Slow Sucker”, which commences as a laboured, chuggy cut, but builds to a
steady march throughout. An indistinct voice jolts across the explosive kick
drum and snare combination, an element that Klein cleverly uses sparingly
during the track. A distorted baseline hangs over an oscillating synth that
drapes an impenetrable veil of darkness, creating the atmosphere of this
closer |

for the 1962 horror film 'La Strage Dei Vampiri' (aka Slaughter Of The
Vampires) directed by Roberto Mauri starring Walter Brandi, Dieter Eppler,
Graziella Granata. Fully restored sound remastered by Roberto Zamori at the
Film Music Art Studio. The music composed by Maestro Aldo Piga is a wonderful
example of the essence of the Italian Opera, composed for an intense love
story, in the style of Mascagni and Puccini, two of the best composers of
Italian Opera |

with 'Favourite Past Time', a swooning breakbeat roller that also gets a
funked up remix with a signature boogie basseline by Romanian stalwart

A
stateless trio (Japan, UK, Sweden), Tristesse Contemporaine chose Paris as
their battle field. The sound of their first album, produced by Pilooski in
2011, was immediately praised among the music scene and critics – raw and
minimal, catchy yet mesmerizing, both poppy and spleen-heavy. Equally
inspired by the ghosts of shoegaze, krautrock and Madchester, they aimed to
write the soundtrack of an era that got lost into the night. Songs like « I
Didn’t Know », « Daytime Nighttime », « In the Wake », or « Hell is Other
People » set catwalks (Chanel) on fire and but also the music press and live
venues, as much in France (where they recently opened for Pulp at the
Olympia) as elsewhere, including Russia and Eastern Europe. The Woodwork E.P.
is the second episode of the Tristesse Contemporaine story. They have a new
label, Record Makers, which is co-releasing it alongside their mother-house
Dirty. This is a definition of their DNA in four new tracks: Waiting :
obsessive, haunted, elegiac – the art of making dead people dance. Vampires :
in the shadow of new wave giants, a minimal prayer to make ghosts go away.
Woodwork : sun-drenched and languid, this is Tristesse Contemporaine very own
version of a praise for patience. Low Tide : back on the dance floor for
perverted, drug-induced nursery rhyme. Higher than the sun. Placed at the
very entrance of the club, Tristesse Contemporaine now waits for us. A new
album is to be released in September. No one will survive |

Five-piece
hybrid jazz outfit Black Flower are set to release new album 'Magma' on the
28th January via the groove-obsessed Belgian label, Sdban Ultra. Piloted by
Brussels-based saxophonist/flutist/composer Nathan Daems (Echoes of Zoo, Dijf
Sanders), the quintet is a vibrant, hypnotic mix of Ethio jazz, afrobeat,
psychedelia and oriental influences, inspired by Mulatu Astatke, Fela Kuti
and varied western musical traditions. Black Flower is a band at the peak of
their creative powers. Having received glowing praise for the 2019 album
'Future Flora' from Mojo, Songlines, BBC Radio 6 Music's Gilles Peterson, BBC
Radio 3's Music Planet, Worldwide FM and Jazz FM among others, forthcoming
album 'Magma' sees Black Flower embrace new synth and organ sounds from the
band's most recent recruit, Karel Cuelenaere. His influence can be heard from
the outset - his keys adding a swirling, mischievousness to album opener and
title track 'Magma'. Elsewhere, the shuffling drum patterns and flighty,
flute-propelled 'O Fogo' are rich in texture and flow. Driving rhythms and
Eastern influenced melodies serve as a rich source of pleasure that, like
magma, become real and solid when finding its way to the surface. It's the
perfect metaphor for this album's creational process. The pulsating,
trance-inducing 'Deep Dive Down' continues the joyous process while
singer-songwriter Meskerem Mees (winner of The Montreux Jazz Talent Award
2021) adds, her clear-as-spring-water vocals to the celestial 'Morning in the
Jungle'. With the much-trusted Frederik Segers on production and London-based
visual virtuoso Raimund Wong (Total Refreshment Centre) on artwork duties, it
all adds up to the psychedelic and exploratory identity of the band and are
key elements that helped 'Magma' in its ascension from deep down up to the
surface. A creative process solidified into vinyl, just as magma into rock.

producer Terrestrial Access Network - Distant Lands. The release is drawn
from the artist's shifting and hectic nomadic existence around the rattling
expanse of the United States presenting 5 original cerebral electro tracks,

Conforce. Based in Austin, Texas, a city famous for its hyper-vibrant
creative musical scene, Terrestrial Access Network feeds from the energy of
this environment just as much as the desert that surrounds it. His day to day
life involves travelling for near constant work projects - spending days and
weeks away from home in what is a hectic lifestyle. In the feelings he
channels when writing Distant Lands - he is pulled back towards the energy of
the serene and calm landscape while on the road dealing with an unsettled

collaborate with Hector Oaks, 999999999, Keith Tucker (AKA Optic Nerve),
Amelie Lens, Rebekah, AnD & Perc, for a new five part Soma Records
project LOUDER THAN CHAOS. On March 2020 the world was abruptly thrown into
collective disarray. The Pandemic stopped almost everything dead in its
tracks. No social gatherings, self isolation, a sense of panic and
bewilderment prevailed. An industry that had become so dependent on human
connection and unity, was suddenly switched off and put on pause for an
unforeseeable future. It was in this climate that The Louder Than Chaos
project was born, facilitated by Soma Records head honchos and techno
protagonists Slam. A collaborative project with friends, colleagues and
contemporaries normally only seen at airports, or events, now brought
together under a completely different set of circumstances, allowing for a
purposeful connection in a time of disconnect. The focus of the project is
built on a powerful mutual participation, remotely constructed over time and
fully intended for holding court on peak time dance floors when they
inevitably return. That time has now finally come. The Louder Than Chaos
project is a series of 5 releases, on 12 vinyl" & Digital, to be

Jesus & Mary Chain, & Spiritualized. Gunman and the Holy Ghost is
another music project created by Hakon Aoalsteinsson (The Third Sound). The
songs were written in Berlin during the coldest months of the winter then
recorded and mixed next spring time. Now available on 180 gram vinyl. From a
review by JJ Baker: When I started listening to Gunman & The Holy Ghost
it actually made me laugh. Such misery! This is melancholy with gristle! This
album is barefaced in its misery-it doesnt resist it, it uses it. Song titles
like "I Dont Believe In Love Anymore" and "Oh Lord, Let Me Die
In Pain" are pretty good indication of what were in for here, though
theres great variation on this deliciously dark album. Opener "The Eight
To Five Train To Nothing" snared me right in the lip and I was willfully
dragged up through that ink black water and onto the good ship Gunman. A
relatively upbeat tune, it has some sad, sad lyrics:"I would want you
here but youre nowhere near so I just keep steaming on; Into the wilderness
and unhappiness right back where I came from" Lines like this are so
damn dark, they bring a smile to my face |

Ned Collette moved to Berlin from
his native Melbourne two years ago. A well known and respected
singer-songwriter in his own country and in underground circles worldwide, he
has toured Europe previously with the likes of Joanna Newsom, Akron/Family,
Bill Callahan and Nina Nastasia. His early musical output was based mostly in
experimental music, before he gravitated towards more traditional song
structures. His new album "2" (his fourth album but his first
outside of Australia) will be released in August. It is a mix of experimental
pop songwriting, musique concrete and dark folky soundscapes. His current
solo shows are performed with voice, nylon string guitar and samples. While
comparisons have been made to everything from Leonard Cohen to Ghostface
Killah, Collette remains tricky to define but instantly identifiable |

brainchild of German songwriter, singer and rhythm guitarist Silvi Wersing,
Chorusgirl blend the shimmering dreaminess of 4AD bands like Lush, the noir
pop of The Cure and the bittersweet electricity of The Breeders across 10
songs that sparkle with melody and pop nous but are stealthily subverted by
something darker. After several years playing in bands that either split up
or fizzled out, fed up with being someone elses bassist and feeling like the
eter-nal chorus girl to other peoples dreams, Silvi Wersing decided to strike
out on her own. Nam-ing her own band with a heavy dose of irony, she
recruited Udo Westhoff (bass), Michael Boyle (drums) and Diogo Oliveira (lead
guitar) to flesh out the demos she had made on her laptop, Dig beneath the
surface of the perfect pop songs on Chorusgirl and youll find heavy lyrics
about saying goodbye, giving up, grief, alienation and loneliness. Its all
deliberately coded though, shrouded in the metaphysical poetry that Silvi
does so well. No longer the eternal chorus girl to oth-er peoples dreams,

Dimi Angelis' 10th release on his
ANGLS label is an exercise in weaponised minimalism - four highly machined
tools, rich with subliminal and subversive frequencies. "The Web of
Fear" opens with assertive and persistent percussion complemented by an
enveloping low-end that slowly builds tension across the track's length.
"Burlesque" follows with a militant, broken rhythm pattern that is
progressively interrupted by dissonant and metallic stabs. Both tracks are

veers into minimalist sci-fi territory, perhaps the most introspective track
on the EP. It presents a sparse groove decorated by FM tones that come and go
like passing comets. "Polemics" closes the story with aggressive
character - machine-driven, bitcrushed loops driven to the point o
destruction, against the ebb and flow of a continuously modulated low-end.

To
celebrate the 20-year anniversary of our label Jamaican Recordings and to
mark the sad one year passing of the musical maestro reggae producer Bunny
`Striker’ Lee, we have pulled together a brand new collection of some great
Bunny Lee rhythms. Our label started way back with initial meetings with
Bunny Lee and a promise to keep his music available, out on the streets. He
will be sorely missed but will live on through his extraordinary musical
legacy and we hope to add to this by including this release to the stable of
an unbeatable catalogue. Legendary record producer Bunny `Striker’ Lee’s vast
selection of rhythms were ever present at any Sound Clash or Dance worth
talking about in the early to mid-1970’s. Where the version found on the
b-side of a single or special dub cut on acetates, would be played to win
over the people and conquer the dance. Bunny Lee was the undisputed rhythm
master and on this special release he is also the MC telling the crowd how it
is and that any rival sound system should watch out as he has the rhythms
that can reign supreme. The band cutting these timeless rhythms were a group
of top Jamaican musicians Bunny had put together called The Aggrovators. The
Aggrovators were a group of reggae musicians that usually featured Carlton
`Santa’ Davis on drums playing alongside Robbie Shakespeare on bass, with
other musicians added like Earl `Chinna’ Smith on guitar and Tommy McCook and
Vin Gordon and Lennox Brown added for horn arrangements. Keyboards and organ
duties normally fell to musicians Ansel Collins and Bernard ‘Touter’ Harvey.
The band was named after singer Eddie Grant had repeated the phrase to Bunny
Lee on one of his many trips to England, that such and such artist was giving
him `Aggro’. This was a term used in England in the 1970’s by the Skinhead
followers of reggae music. A term shortened from the word `Aggrovation’,
meaning trouble, fighting or making the situation worse. Bunny Lee was so
taken with this term that on returning to Jamaica, not only did he name his
group of musicians the `Aggrovators’ but he also named his record shop
situated at 101 Orange Street `Agro Records’. We have compiled some great
tracks recorded by this fantastic group of musicians. With the added extra
magic of Mr Bunny Lee calling it out as only he can on the microphone. Yes

collaborative piece from Agoria, aka Sebastien Devaud. As well as Blasé and
STS, who returned after featuring on ‘Drift’, Devaud worked with Domino’s Ela
Minus, flamenco innovator Niño De Elche, and the unique hip hop delivery of Rome
Fortune across the LP, with additional collaborators including Sacha Rudy and
Oscar winner (The Sound of Metal), Nicolas Becker. Sonically, the LP saw
Agoria presenting a kaleidoscopic haze of cinematic and evolving electronica
that touched on house, techno, electro, hip hop, and beyond but beneath the
aesthetics, ‘.dev’ was the work of an artist asking himself questions in
order to create worlds out of his answers. Beyond looking to question the
very systems of the traditional album format, his holistic approach to AI and
NFT’s within the thematic world of his work were laid out front and centre
through the visual and conceptual identity surrounding the album |

an original track by the renegade mistress herself, Odette. Better Do It
Right opens the release with Odette’s classic dancefloor ready percussion
arrangements and glorious keywork. The track oozes sensuality; as the track
evolves and its representation of day meets night, Odette’s vocal elements,
delivered in a suitably brooding lilt, really take centre stage. Terry
Francis takes up the rest of the A-side, with a techier take on the original.
Check out the moody bottom end and those hypnotic, skittering chirrups
Francis brings to the mix. Definitely one to take your set up a notch. Tel
Aviv’s Brizman leads the charge on the flip, going for a softer approach to

work. After a slew of signings to some of the biggest labels in house and
techno we are proud to present this ethereal record from Jozef. The EP begins
with “I Felt A Presence”, a both heartfelt & dystopian 303 cut containing
an atmospheric vocal that alternates between undefined parameters. “Between
Two Worlds”, Jozef’s acidic ode to Twin Peaks/David Lynch, portrays an
intricate interplay between dark and light, (which is an underlying theme of
the show for non-TP fans). There are also further meanings Mr. K wanted the
listener to discover for themselves, a very Lynchian concept indeed. Track 3
is the dreamy and pensive “Agkistrodon Contortix“. Another shimmering sci-fi

Reissued from the original
masters, Pal Joey unearths an early ‘90s gem from his much sought-after back
catalogue. Alongside Ola Salanke, Pal Joey created ‘Aye-Le (Rough World)’
under the alias Roots Foundation, an anthemic drum focused, tribal tinged, deep
house groover. The e.p. contains the three mixes from the original release,
kicking off with the ‘Love Mix’, marrying a rolling bass and emotive stabs
with a combination of percussive hits and tropical guitar riffs, that provide
the perfect basis to enhance those hypnotic chants. The B side houses firstly
the ‘Peace Mix’, adding some choice vocal backing to ramp up the spellbinding
nature of the track. Finally, the ‘Unity Mix’ rounds off the e.p. dropping
the main vocals in favour of the sparse backing chants from the ‘Peace Mix’,

The
mysterious Cecil Moses & The S.G.'s (Oliver Klomp - drums, Colin Higgins
- guitar, Bob Heinemann - bass, and Marc Hager - keys) unite with deep funk
pioneer Lucky Brown to interpret Lucky's original "Mesquite Suite,"
a collection of spiritual folk/jazz modal melodies fused with earthy and
arcane rhythms composed in the summer of 2015 in an ashram in the Texas Hill
Country. The S.G.'s, who specialize in their own brand of great quartet
instrumental soul ala Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Meters, adapted
quickly to Lucky's experimental, rudimentary, vernacular, and minimalist
approach. One thing you will notice in these tunes is that the vast space
created by the musicians and the composition is what allows the FEEL to
filter through, and for Lucky Brown, FEEL is what it is all about. This first
single presents the themesong of their collection, a deep tribal shuffle,
"Mesquite Beat," upon which Jason Cressey - trombone, and Thomas
Deakin - sax, offer their own explorations. The flip is an upbeat and minimal
pentatonic anthem entitled "Justice," featuring Lucky Brown himself
on funk flute. With this release, we are proud to introduce the first
installment of the "Mesquite Suite" collection on Tramp's own

This
limited 7" has 'Morning In The Jungle' on The A side. The track is taken
from Black Flower's new album 'Magma' and features Belgian singer-songwriter
Meskerem Mees on vocals. The B side has an unreleased Black Flower track
entitled 'Invisible River'. 'Morning in the Jungle' was born not in a jungle,
but in a city near a jungle. Black Flower was on tour in Brasil in 2020 and
drank deeply of the cup. There were concerts and there was contact:
spiritual, musical, cultural. Late one particular evening in the Lapa
neighborhood of Rio De Janeiro there was a hand reaching through a crowd,
owned by a dancing woman, reaching for a cell phone or wallet, finding its
mark, then handing off the prize to a waiting accomplice. The remarkable
aspect was the strange, deranged, toothless smile of this otherwise very
beautiful woman, looking for an instant in recognition: of theft, of
addiction, of pleasure, of complete loss of hope. What happened after that is
a fantasy, of these two characters, the thief and the victim finding each
other in a psychedelic moment of epiphany. Alone. In a holy jungle, waking to
a growing brightness finding its way through a canopy of leaves and
wilderness. This first inclusion of lyrics in the music of Black Flower is a
collaboration that has a most auspicious and excellent timing. Meskerem Mees
is an up-and-coming talent, having just released her first album entitled

SHDW & Obscure Shape The duos rolling opener "Conquest Of
Paradise" quickly sets the tone and builds to reveal a classy and slick
offering, combining rich stabs with tough drums and sharp hats, while Invexis
keeps the tempo high as he weaves escalating synths and pacy kicks across
"Elektronenwind". VIL & Cravo combine on the jacking and lively
"Apolonia Loop", as eerie synths work amongst warped vocals across
a tweaked out peak-time effort, before Alarico keeps the energy levels up
throughout the relentless funk of "I'm Into You". The second half
of the package sees Lars Huismann enter the fray with the no-nonsense,
snaking grooves of "Hyper Dub", with Nicolas Vogler's "Sauva
Bite" fusing hypnotic tones with straight regimented claps for an
intense yet playful ride through sounds and sonics. "Your Dry Lips"
switches up the aesthetic as Grindvik journeys down a wormhole of metallic
percussion and warping low-ends, before closing the show with authority via
