project by Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson. Operating out of Bangkok,
Thailand, the Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV founding member started this
audio and visual endeavour following Coil's end. Despite the name, it was a
solo project which relied heavily on computer generated vocals. The name was
derived from a play on words, combining the terms houseboy, house of boys,
boys' choir, and Threshold House, which was Coil's own label. "Form
Grows Rampant" is the soundtrack of a film shot by Christopherson (a
video capture at the GinJae Vegetarian Festival in the south of Thailand) and
his first major musical project since the tragic death of John Balance and
the subsequent demise of Coil. The music is a suite of lenghty dense
atmospherics that combine shuddering electronics with sampled vocals, eerie
digitalia, buried melodies and sinister undercurrents hinting at a gleaming
heart of darkness, with a joyful melodic progression that sounds positively
triumphant towards the end of the disc. It's both Coil-esque and quite
different, and undoubtedly is the worthy successor of the legendary group
that Christopherson created with his partner John Balance. First released in
small quantities in 2007 as a CD/DVD set, this is the first time it is
released on vinyl, CD and digital. This reissue has been mastered from
original files by Sidney Claire Meyer at former Deutsche Grammophon studios
Emil Berliner in Berlin, using the half speed mastering process, and pressed
on heavy vinyl. File under COIL Forever, Erotic Trance, Religious IDM,

riding a tide of success, dj poolboi, makes his return to Shall Not Fade's
Classic Cuts with the sequel to his Rarities EP which kicked off the series.
Like its first installment, Vol. 2 is a blissful and warm listen with tinges
of party experimentation set to get feet moving. Easing in with fuzzy,
crackling chords and house rhythms, 'i know you tried' is a stylish start to
the record. It's straight lo-fi house sound palette fades into buoyant pads
and a trance-like use of spaced out vocals in 'with you', which is full of
texture and production skill. 'yesterday' uses stunning organic
instrumentation and hyper-glitched vocal samples to great effect, to which
the final track 'early you' feels like the perfect match with similar muted
and melancholy chords. The B-side comes to an end with the romantic
atmosphere this track builds |

Blood
Oaths Of The New Blues is the Sunday morning 'wake and bake' record to last
year's critically acclaimed Briarwood LP's Saturday night revelry. With his
once-every-five-years proper rock and roll record out of his system, James
Jackson Toth - AKA Wooden Wand - retreated back to Alabama to record this
spooky, heady follow-up, an album that demands close attention. This is music
for quiet reflection and shares a worldview more in line with noise and doom
metal artists than it does summer of love casualties and beach burnouts.
Every Wooden Wand album trounces expectations, and Blood Oaths Of The New
Blues, thankfully, doesn't break that trend. David Hickox, Janet Elizabeth
Simpson, Jody Nelson, Brad Davis and Les Nuby III make up the band, and it's
a testament to their versatility to note that this same group who pulled off
slow-burn rock epics like "Motel Stationery" and Stones-y, soulful
jams like "Big Mouth USA" last time around could so artfully and
effortlessly create a follow-up that does not contain a single guitar solo,
snare hit, or country affectation. Harmonium, organ and disembodied vocals
are the order of the day here, with back-masking and subliminal messages
added to enhance the trip. Blood Oaths Of The New Blues represents a break
with the past with an eye on an uncertain future, and is the boldest, most
adventurous and most intensely personal album of Toth's long career. The new
focus on texture and sonic space does not, however, come at the expense of
Toth's inimitable lyrical style. For proof, see the "alt couple"
travelogue of "Outsider Blues," the menacing firsthand account of
the real-life Doherty Gang's crime spree in "Southern Colorado
Song," or the suicidal yearnings of "Supermoon (The Sounding
Line)." Elsewhere, Toth evokes the weary spirits of state-executed men
and women in "Dungeon Of Irons. This is the first Wooden Wand album that
should equally satisfy both the fans of Toth's acerbic rambler narratives as
well as older fans who miss losing themselves in the fried, psychedelic
atmospheres of albums like Buck Dharma and Harem Of the Sundrum & The
Witness Figg |

Joe
was asked to support Boris at their headline show in London and by 2011 the
split-release project was fully underway. Now, 5 years to the day of their
first encounter, Invada are proud to present this collaboration which will be
available only on a heavy vinyl pressing. Boris are well known for spanning
multiple genres of music throughout their 20 year history. Supremely heavy.
Always unexpected. Their presence on stage is something to be witnessed. They
have been classified as space rock, outsider metal, avant rock and many more,
all giving a nod to the other-worldliness of the sound they create. It seems
fitting then that for this album Boris have produced Cosmos, a record in
three parts that traverses a landscape of cymbal washes and fuzzed glitches
in Part 1, to the relentlessly volcanic jagged grooves of Part 2, before
descending underwater spirals through Part 3. This journey leads beautifully
to the door of their bedfellow Joe Volk. Joe was the original singer in Gonga
and Crippled Black Phoenix and released his debut solo album on Invada many
moons ago. He is currently working on a new album with Emmy-nominated
soundtrack composer Ben Salisbury. His two songs on this split LP, Call to
Sun and Finland, are stories in technically sublime acoustics, strings and
vocals, but as you would expect from an Invada artist all is not as it seems.
His use of silence and hypnotic rhythms mark this out as something entirely
different. This split album is a juxtaposition of styles from the same
mindset. One story told two ways." |

Hopewell
has never been a band too concerned with classification. For more than a
decade, they have been at turns ornate, primitive, fired up, lashing out,
beautiful, burly, blue, white hot, sardonic and sweet. And through an
impressive amalgam of talent and a knack for twisting the component parts of
the rock eras most inventive music, they have concocted studio works that
evade description and sink hooks in grey matter few other bands find. For any
listener who has tracked the arc of Hopewells output, their arrival at this
particular convergence of studio/song architecture and lead-heavy rocking,
makes perfect freaking sense. Their first three LPs were beautiful sonic
traffic jams that spanned the psych-glam of Ziggy Stardust Bowie and Janes
Addiction, tattered, heartworm, heavy mountain jams, and a mad scientists
approach to production that evoked images of Dr Frankenstein and George
Martin playing 3-D Chinese checkers in the depths of Abbey Road. John Peel
himself took note, gave them a session of their own and the press took
notice. They hot the road and played with just about everybody - most
recently (and heroically) opening for the hyperdecibeled hydra that is My
Bloody Valentine. Good Good Desperation is a chameleon of the most sincere,
beautiful and rocking sort - the sum of a decade long exploration swirled

100th release with the debut album from New York's DAWN OF HUMANS, opening a
door into an unexplored world below the Brooklyn sewers. 'Slurping at the
Cosmos Spine' is a chaotic, creepy and unhinged album that takes the mutant
sound of UNITED MUTATION and mixes it with the basic, hypnotic and relentless
rhythms of THE RONDOS / Early EX. It actually sounds like a RUDIMENTARY PENI
7" played at the wrong speed. This is music for freaks that is wild and
abandoned in parts and then locked in and claustrophobic in others. While
DAWN OF HUMANS is surely a band to experience live due to their ever changing
stage performance 'Slurping at the Cosmos Spine' manages to shine the
psychotic genious-ness of the band thru the grooves of this record. Graphic

Lucy
Kruger is a singer & songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa who recently
moved to Berlin. Her performance focuses on the bare bones of the songs, a
slow burning psychedelic folk that is both intimate and ambient. Dreamscapes
set against drones allow the stories to drift and dive, fall asleep and come
to life. Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys' first LP ,Summer's Not That
Simple" was released in partnership with independent South African label
Permanent Record. The album holds a sea of guitars in conversation with
almost whispered thoughts. In September this year she will release her second
full length album ,Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls" through Unique
Records. The new album is made to be a quiet companion for restless evenings.
The album was recorded just before Lucy moved from Cape Town to Berlin in May
last year. She had been quietly spinning a soft web of songs and wanted to
capture the feeling before leaving. The record was made with a very specific
listener in mind. For the last few years Lucy has gone to bed listening to
the stories and sounds of songwriters that have became close companions, both
challenging and nurturing her and eventually gifting her rest. She wanted to
give something of the same to those who might need it |

now. Despite being from the end of the 1960s, Reinhold has more of an early 60s
NYC Greenwich Village Cafe Wha?-ish folk underpinning. The best tracks have
gravel-pated vocals in a vaguely Tom Waits & Joseph Spence sort of vein,
really syrupy and quite excellent. Overall, a dark and morose vibe dominates
and we can all use some minor key laments, now and then, right |

Formed
in April of 1986 in Belo Horizonte, in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil,
Insulter was born in the same lineage of early Brazilian deathcore as such
bands as Sarcófago and Sextrash, among others. In fact, all three bands
shared members at different stages of their development. Not to be confused
with the way the term is more commonly used today, this brand of Brazilian
"deathcore" was more of a reinterpreted brand of first/generation
black metal, transformed by its heirs after having been bequeathed to Brazil
from early European forefathers such as Bathory and Sodom. In addition to its
emergence at the hands of these bands and others from Minas Gerais, a
significant amount of cross/pollination occurred between them and Sao
Paolo/based bands like Vulcano and Genocidio, which truly made this a unique
musical brand of its own and one which would later serve as a primary
inspiration worldwide for the bestial black metal bands of the late 80s and
beyond. Insulter recorded and released two demos in this remarkable style in
1986 and 1987. The first of these demos, "The Insult," may be
considered inferior due to its unpolished production, as compared to more
traditionally accepted standards. However, it can be argued that the rawness
of its sound serves as a better reflection of the band's true character. The
second demo, "The Last Illusion" *aka "Black Church"(,
contains a re/recorded version of the first demo's track "Black
Church" and another song simply entitled "Fuckin'." This
latter track in particular, with its seemingly reckless percussion and
frenzied guitar leads, demonstrates the elements of early Brazilian deathcore
that separate it from all other subgenres. Following the release of these
first two demos and several lineup changes, Insulter took another direction
in musical style and aesthetic, moving somewhat away from the sinister black
metal of the Brazilian deathcore movement and instead towards redefining
themselves more as a traditional thrash metal band, which is evidenced by the
sound of its third demo, "Ignoring the Falsity," from 1989.
"Blood Spits, Violences, and Insults" compiles all three demos from
both eras of Insulter as well as a previously unreleased rehearsal recording
from 1988. Moreover, this compilation serves as a tribute to the mighty
Insulter's role in the emergence of the Brazilian deathcore movement and the
individual contributions of the band's members that have since passed on. As
such, this release aspires to call further, well/deserved recognition to a
time and place in metal history that is certain to never be duplicated |

His interest in techno/house
electronic music begins 1993. Rich clubbing experience gave him a chance to
start his own production. Main source of quality electronic music were clubs
and guest Djs mostly here in Zagreb. After gathering all styles together DAV
came up with sound that is based on tech-house & deep-tech style
influence. Background of 80's electronic music is also present in his work.
As a dj he played in many Croatian & Slovenian clubs with his basic
tech-house style, playing only his production . Finally in 2001 he signs for
his first release in London and many of them followed. He is also a member of
«Stereo Studio» crew here in Zagreb, which is the strongest promoting

For his debut Dawn rill Dusk outing, the producer showcases his pedigree
through four elegant deep house originals that demand repeated plays. The
summery deep vibe of 'Ledonia' is intoxicating. A warm two-finger bassline
runs across snappy drums awhile lush synths and leads dance with a repeating
vocal refrain that feels cheerful. This is refined yet compelling dance
music. On 'Morlina' the class levels are turned to 11. Sparkling keys and a
sensual synth accentuate a super deep rhythm that doubles as a brass
instrument. All the elements combine for a mature dance experience which
reminds of smokey jazz clubs and illegal speakeasies. The vocal delivery on
'Panaray' is exquisite, an escape to a deep house holiday we all deserve.
With grooving bongos and shuffling hats, this feels exotic, but the elongated
bassline ground the track to its true nature: High-quality dancefloor music.

The Stormmers was a group led by
Renny Pearl, former bandleader and bass player with Aktion (The
Aktions/Aktion 13), an Afro funk band from Warri, Nigeria that burned
brightly and briefly in the mid-'70s. With the help of Jake Sollo, an
ex-Funkee and recently reconstituted disco dandy, the guys created 'Lovers
Song', an album of frantically musical bass lines, skittery high hats and an
irresistible urge to get onto the dancefloor. The album was recorded in
Nigeria and the UK and released in 1981, a time in Nigeria when oil prices
were falling, beats-per-minute were rising and clubbers wanted to party like

called Cling Cling Avenue. We present to you the one and only, the
Originator, the Godfather, Daddy U Roy!” U Roy had visited Brighton before
but there was something special about that balmy night in August 2017, when
he walked out on stage at the Komedia to a hero’s welcome and immediately got
the crowd cheering and dancing. There was so much warmth and excitement
generated that night, and it’s all captured on this final live album of the
reggae superstar’s illustrious career. U Roy wasn’t quite the originator, but
he was the first Jamaican deejay to dominate the Top 3 places on both radio
stations and turn his predecessors’ simple exhortations into an artform – one
that evolved into a global phenomenon. It was his performances on King
Tubby’s Hometown Hi-Fi that made him the talk of Jamaica and led him to
Treasure Isle studio, where he voiced hits like Tide Is High and Wear You To
The Ball. From then on his catchy, uplifting rhymes could be heard on radios
and jukeboxes throughout the island, as well as from behind the control tower
of his King Stur Gav sound-system, where MCs like Josey Wales, Brigadier
Jerry and Charlie Chaplin learnt their craft. The veteran deejay, who died in
February 2021, continued recording and touring into his late seventies, and
without abandoning either his musical standards or Rastafarian beliefs. At
his peak, U Roy voiced for Jamaica legends like Lee “Scratch” Perry, Bunny
Lee and Channel One, in addition to several European labels. What most of his
recordings have in common is a sense of hope and often joy, because even Get
Up Stand Up is delivered with optimism. They are the qualities that come

the iconic Goa scene in India in the 90s, so she grew up surrounded by

sets and productions ever since she moved to Madrid to pursue her career. Now

Bààn
is a Belgian instrumental duo, formed in 2016 in Brussels by Pascal N. Paulus
(keyboards) and Jean-Philippe De Gheest (drums). In their music they
interweave ambient, psych, jazz and rock and they create an infectious
atmosphere that immediately transports the listener to distant places. Very
soon after the band was founded, both men entered the studio and recorded a
self-titled debut album that was released independently in 2017 on LP and
digitally. Not much later - in 2019 - a limited cassette was released under
the name 'Outtakes' and barely a year later a second full album 'RESET'
followed. After these three DIY releases, they joined forces with the Belgian
jazz / not jazz label W.E.R.F. records for their upcoming fourth album. This
record will be officially released on LP / digital on March 4, 2022 and is
entitled 'Shadowboxing' Pascal N. Paulus aka Paulson has earned his stripes
as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, keyboardist, performer and producer. In
recent years you could see him at work with Melanie De Biasio. One of the
driving forces behind her breakthrough record 'No Deal' was Pascal's
compelling synth work. He also played with artists such as Kris Dane and La
Jerôme. Jean-Philippe De Gheest has worked for many years with none other
than Mark Lanegan, the American singer-songwriter and ex-member of Queens of
the Stone Age. He is also a member of the improv collective Pilot. Both
musicians get their inspiration from the improvisational language of jazz and
mix it with elements they take from 1970s krautrock, groups like Pink Floyd
and sounds they pick from the ambient scene |

with original artwork) Todd Terje's 2012 EP It's the Arps rumbled the floors
of warehouse parties and hedonistic sleepovers alike with lead single
'Inspector Norse' leading the vanguard of electro fun. Given that Todd
Terje's first original material in some five years resulted in one of last
year's highlights with the Running Back released Ragysh, it's natural he
would want to leave some space before following up. The first of a series of
EPs crafted from using one bit of vintage gear in particular, It's The Arps
sees Terje dabble with the intricacies of the Arp 2600 analogue synthesizer
as well as pay homage to his favourite Monty Python sketch. This is just as
nerdy as you'd expect from a man who recently launched a website with the
specific intention of exploring the obsessive studio nature of his
contemporaries. The aforementioned "Inspector Norse" is an obvious
highlight here, slowly unfurling gorgeous layers of playful synthesis that
grapple the simplistic drums with flirtatious delight. Naturally for someone
who spends most weekends of the year in a nightclub, Terje demonstrates a
real prowess for building up the track, teasing your senses once before
unleashing the mid point monstrous moment. It makes for another signature track
from Terje which is likely to engender a rapturous reception for many months
to come. Alongside it, "Myggsommer" provides a brief, twee
interlude into oddball sci fi soundscapes which again prove to highlight the
Arp 2600's capacity for inventive and idiosyncratic sounds. From here Terje
unveils a two part skywards saunter through "Swing Star" showcasing
a more dextrous manipulation of the Arp 2600's melodies across the markedly
more rhythmic upbeat first part and expansive luxurious cosmic subsequent
endeavour. Whilst "Inspector Norse" is guaranteed to be the one
track from this release you will hear in the international discotheques, the
remainder of It's The Arps serves as a excellent reminder of Terje's ever
growing talent as a producer |

Drifting
on oceans of thunderous stillness, carried away by endless currents, whipped
up by waves of darkness devouring you until you see the light. The first
album from Platoo, a collaboration between Michelle Samba and Phil Mills, has
an unrelenting cadence that grabs you and refuses to let go. A distinctive
combination of calming soundscapes and highly-charged energy fitting any
occasion, from dancing like lost souls in the empty halls of ancient barracks
to ecstatically tripping on a distant desert planet. To Phil and Michelle
creating Platoo was about being given a sense of freedom and exploration, at
once shaking off habits and rediscovering forgotten values. Phil's love of
the mesh of ''real'' sounds and electronics, and quest to establish a balance
where both would feed off each other saw him abandon convention and standard
structures, deviate from the beaten path and let things come to life.
Michelle's quest to create, to inspire and be inspired, to draw her
conclusions from serendipitous events allowed her to break things open and be
at ease with letting herself go to create the breathing space needed for this
new sound. What makes their symbiosis fruitful is a common yearning for the

Inversions
is a new imprint, spawned by parent label Power Vacuum. The overall brief is
broadly the same: driving, kinetic music of an exploratory and divergent
bent, but employing more of a live/traditional instrumental approach. The
first release encompasses electro-kraut, psych-punk, lo-fi pop-folk,
prog-fusion and drone doom-metal, still with one eye on some sort of
dancefloor, but equally at home on the turntables of bedrooms and
after-parties. A1 Cavern of Anti-Matter - Bring the Hiss (Version): Requiring
the least introduction are Cavern of Anti-Matter, comprising former Stereolab
cohorts Tim Gane and Joe Dilworth, plus the appropriately named synth-magus
Holger Zapf. Here is a more frenzied version of 'Hi-Hats Bring the Hiss' from
their acclaimed 2016 album 'Void Beats / Invocation Trex.' The track mirrors
the nexus between Power Vacuum and Inversions, with a predominantly
electronic start point mutating into a phased, percussive live groove. A2
Booze - 5 Minute Break: Booze is the illegitimate offspring of Demian
Castellanos (The Oscillation,) and Milo Smee (ex-Chrome Hoof,) conceived
during evenings in the studio whilst taking respite from their main projects.
An untameable beast, swaggering uncontrollably through musical moods like a
sordid being intent on unknowable deeds. B1 Fupper - I'm Fine Little Man:
Fupper is the solo project of Simon Hughes, who has been quietly creating

Wiggle
celebrate 25 years and relaunch their iconic label with a releases including
co-founders Terry Francis, Nathan Coles and Eddie Richards, as well as
artists like D’julz, Silverlining, Mihai Popoviciu, and more. Wiggle, the
brand that gave birth to tech house a sound that would power London’s club
music community for over two decades, step out into their 25th year. To mark
reaching this remarkable milestone, they plan a special series of
international shows and a relaunch of their influential and ground-breaking
label. Taking their lead directly from the acid house movement, Nathan Coles
and Terry Francis first brought Wiggle to life through their heady warehouse
parties in the early 90s. Unpretentious to their core, these now infamous
events were known for their purist values – community and a sound that booms.
Finding a kindred spirit in another new face, Eddie Richards became resident
from early sets and was a key figure from the off. Through these now historic
events, they embedded themselves deeply into London’s party landscape
becoming familiar faces at cultural institution fabric. Heavily based around
the core residents they also invited parts of the international and local
world from Richie Hawtin, Jay Tripwire, Abe Duque and Colin Dale. It’s about
here we acknowledge Wiggle’s place in originating tech house - working the
hard line swagger of techno together with the depth of feeling of house,
matching rhythm with bass in a way perfectly aligned with endless hours of
hedonism. This potent mix of musical elements is where it began and set down
the foundation of London’s rich and active community of DJs, producers and
ravers |
