Involve
Records boss Regal presents "RWYS Remixes Pt.02", containing four
edits of his debut album from JKS, Ellen Allien, Clouds & Lady Starlight.
Regal drops the second remix EP from three packages lined up on his Involve
imprint, "RWYS Remixes Pt.02". He invites some of techno's finest
producers to rework his debut album, including JKS, Ellen Allien, Clouds
& Lady Starlight. Parisian Producer JKS takes on Regal & Z.I.P.P.O's
track "Run" for the opener. Modifying the pads, he emits an
elongated, ravey sound that's accompanied by a vast emphasis on the original
samples. He uses the vocals to redirect the track after each command, veering
through drum patterns, menacing 303's and clattering rhythms. Following is
almighty German force Ellen Allien, with her equally ferocious rendition of
"Dungeon Master". She shifts the original arrangements by injecting
wavering synths and bubbling chords. A rounded kick drum gallops throughout,
marrying the psychedelic realm created by Allien with the track's original
demonic flare. Revered Scottish duo Clouds are next with their concoction of
"Requiem from a friend". Originally a melancholic and dubious cut
from Regal and pianist Fabrizio rat, Clouds transform the wistful keys and
understated synths into deep, howling sonics with sharp, stabbing spasms.
They accentuate the kaleidoscope elements and maintain the disordered
kick-drum, adding weight, a trippy vocal and spacey pads. NYC producer Lady
Starlight closes with "Burning Old Idols". Maintaining a number of
elements from Regal's composition, she manages to amplify the powerfulness of
the track. A deeper kick and the ascended pitch of the 303's churns out a
robust and tenacious sound, perfectly maintaining energy until the close |

builds a kind of momentum where they just produce more and more rippers and
Olympia's PHYSIQUE are clearly locked into a serious groove. 'THE RHYTHM OF
BRUTALITY', their third 12" in a year and a half, and released in time
for their upcoming rampage across Europe, is another uncompromising slice of
crasher crust ugliness, guitars hissing and squealing in anguish, searing
radiation-buzz noise crudely marshalled into seven nasty hardcore salvos,
from the punchy d/beat of -We Make Noise- to the punishing stomp of the title
track and -Miserable Existence-, with its propulsive rolling punk beat

New York's L.O.T.I.O.N. highly
anticipated full length finally dropped in. Following two demo cassettes that
in no way represented the intensity of their live show, L.O.T.I.O.N. finally
has recorded as a full band. If you've never seen the band, they described
themselves as NITZER EBB meets G.I.S.M. but on this LP the sound influences
go beyond adding METAL URBAIN, early SPK and PRODIGY as obvious influences.
L.O.T.I.O.N aesthetic and lyrics are beyond mundane bringing to the forefront
the insane world we live in and dealing militantly with the absolute paranoia
control of our pre-programed existence. The LP comes housed in a heavy stock
sleeve with a Japanese style obi strip. Gigantic poster and a lyric sheet
that could double as a field manual for guerilla warfare. All design work was

The
Jazzinvaders went back into the studio after two successful tours with
Hammond legend Dr Lonnie Smith and the Brazilian fusion group Azymuth. The
Jazzinvaders decided it would be fun to spend some time in the studio to see
if they could come up with a disco-jazz album. According to the band, the
album containing 9 brand new tracks and one reprise to it's "most groovy
album so far". The grooves by Phil, the horn arrangements by Van
Duikeren, Delfos, Nijs and the wide harmonic structures by piano player
Busstra combined with lyrics and vocals of Bloemhard seemed to be again the
perfect ingredients for this new album. Influenced by the 70's albums of Roy
Ayers, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang and Donald Byrd. Just like the
band did on their previous albums, they managed to stick to their trademark
and typical azzinvaders Sound', easy accessible and danceable jazz combined
with funky beats and nicely flavored harmony! This unique sound allowed the
band to tour all over the world over the past few years playing lots of
festivals and clubs in countries like Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland,
United Kingdom, Austria and also Japan! The bands releases can be found all

One of the most seminal Japanese
punk bands ever, Stalin formed in 1980 and blew away all previous attempts at
Japanese punk thanks to their frontman Michiro Endos crazy on-stage
perfomances and their unique style. Even though by the release of their first
LP "Trash" in 1981 Stalin moved towards a more hardcore/punk
direction, which resulted in whats known to be their best work - the classic
Stop Jap LP from 1982, Stalins early singles are one of the best examples of
what would be 15 years later defined as killed by death punk rock. Originally
released in 1987, the Stalinism LP collected their first flexi 7", the
Stalinism EP, the Fish Inn flexi single, along with Chicken Farm their
contribution to the legendary international hardcore compilation Welcome to
1984, to whom Stalin owe a good portion of their cult status. A great reissue

House Society starts 2022 with a high quality EP from Cologne based German
artist DJOKO, and this also comes with a remix from the head honcho himself
Sidney Charles. DJOKO’s sound takes influences from funk & soul, garage,
deep house and everything else in between that is both underground and raw.
He’s released on an impressive selection of underground labels like PIV, Berg
Audio, Talman and Rutilence, garnering numerous genre number 1’s on the
download stores whilst also accruing over 11 million streams on Spotify
alone. For his debut release on Heavy House Society, we bring you his Rapture
EP. The title track to the EP, Rapture is a classy deep and minimal house
affair, with his house beats combining with a driving bassline, the cleverly
constructed filters organs and pads giving this a sublime journey feel. The
second track is Inside of Me, which has more a skip to the beats, weighty
bassline, and well worked samples. Add the lead melody line and this is a
great track to get people moving. The third track is My Crib, a bassline led
track with an old school flavour to it which combines atmospheric pads which
provide depth, delicate and intricate melodies and leads. The last track is
the Sidney Charles remix of My Crib, for his remix he takes this a little
deeper which offers a great alternative to the excellent original mix. A more
sub bass groove free’s up frequencies in the mix giving more space for the
melodies to breathe in the track and take this on a stunning floating groove.
This is a superb release featuring 2 amazing artists, and for sure this with
deliver the goods for Heavy House Society yet again |

Job Organization (also known as SJOB Movement) was a rarity in the Nigerian
music scene - a collective of equals in a world where band 'leaders' ruled
the roost and 'band boys' had to make do with the crumbs. The name was an
acronym representing each of the members - Samuel 'Spark' Abiloye, Johnnie
Woode Olimah, Ehima 'Blackie' Ottah and Prince Bolarinwa Agba. They were
music scene veterans and the nucleus of Sonny Okosuns' group, Ozziddi.
Unshackled, their undeniable chemistry fizzed. Listen to a SJOB record and
you can almost hear band members nodding their heads in appreciation of each
others' mad skills. On Freedom Anthem, the music is deep, dark and funky. It
took inspiration from the new sounds coming out of black America with a focus
that was increasingly political. 'Ayamoto' calls for Africans to stand up for
their rights. 'Freedom Anthem' is another funky call to arms. 'Oya' and
'Wombiliki' incorporate local folk sounds and a tinge of reggae for a
distinctly African burnish. The egalitarian structure of SJOB eventually lead
to its demise. Without a dominant personality to galvanize the band, they
lost direction. Johnnie Woode rejoined Ozziddi. Prince Bola joined King Sunny
Ade. The great social experiment was over. But in Freedom Anthem, the magic

In
1979, long-time Highlife veteran Aigbe Lebarty decided to try his hand at
high-energy disco funk. Checking the Lebartone Aces at the door, he borrowed
the Sex Bombers from Prince Omo Lawal-Osula and created Unity, a sure-fire
dance floor stomper that channels 'Ring My Bell' into a clarion cry for,
well, unity ... and a good time. The title track is the undisputed highlight
of the album. It rattles along in a wonky, skittish fashion, with the
high-pitched toms dueling with the Sex Bombers in a musical game of Space
Invaders. 'His Highness Erediauwa 1 Oba Of Benin (Part 1 &2)', sees Aigbe
slips back into Highlife like a comfortable pair of slippers. The tracks were
a gift to Erediauwa, who had just been crowned the 38th ruler of the Edo
people in Benin City. Like eastern Nigeria, Benin City had remained a haven
for highlife, so no surprises there. Spookily, the re-issue of this album by
PMG coincides with the passing of his Highness Erediauwa 1 and the coronation
of his successor. There is no word whether a follow-up is in the works. -

Repress!!! Reissue of the album
from 1980! The young Barrington Levy (aged 16 then) teamed up with Herny
'Junjo' Lawes to pay tribute to Robin Hood, the heroic outlaw in English
folklore. The two created an impressive longplayer which boasts some of the heaviest
rhythms from either the singer-s or the producer's career. Backed by the
Roots Radics at Channel One (in a rare outfit with Carlton 'Santa'
Davis/Drums, Earl 'Chinna' Smith/Guitar and a full horn section), the LP was
mixed by Overton 'Scientist' Brown at King Tubby's Studio - the tracks also
provided the basis for the classic dub album 'Heavyweight Champion' |

7 4th album Yeah Ghost from 2007, spans everything from dance pop to acoustic
folk and everything in between it's an idea-splattered work of genius that
even includes a quartet of instrumental tracks derived from their
experimental side projects and sampled, overdubbed and rebuilt from scratch.
From the evocative intro 'Count Me Out' to the album's shuffling, twitchy
closer 'All Of Us' - via the haunting 'Solastalgia' and 'Ghost sYMbOL'
avant-garde electronic and distorted vocals - it's Zero 7 as you've never
heard them before. 'Destiny' this aint. One thing that remains consistent
though is the roll call of up-and-coming talent on vocal duties, including
singer ESKA Mtungwazi. The Londoner, whose collaboration credits include
Matthew Herbert and Bugs In The Attic, appears on 'Mr McGee', 'Medicine Man',

Ricci. This guy is a talented multi-instrumentalist whose music can be
described as a blend of House, Tech House, Deep and Minimal. His love for
this music brought him to become a producer, to express what he feels through
music. After a few years of production his style can be described as minimal
deep tech due to the influences of Toman, Chris Stussy, Anotr, Rossi, Djoko,
Sidney Charles and other artists. This guy has done a lot of work and
released a lot of good music during the last year and today we finally

ensemble is a band around Belgian bass player Kobe Boon. Initial a
seven-piece band they found each other in the rich music-scene of Ghent,
while in the music academy. The search for a wide range of possibilities with
the human voice was one of the key elements from the start. Genres are mixed
up: going from jazz to classical, from electronic to indie influences, all of
the musicians being very openminded in their musical interest. Their debute
Limbs was released in winter 2019. It brings a mix of Eastern European choir,
groovy krautpop & saxophone madness à la Rashaan Roland Kirk. A record
unlimited by genre which now takes you to somekind of weird utopia, spiced
with exotic herbs, then to a chaotic hurricane. A varied record which is both
cerebral as organic. A different, green world, as Brian Eno once imagined.
Mós Ensemble lives up to their name, pollinating every ear as one, growing,
rampantly moving organism. Music as the matrix for spring dreams, for an
arcadian adventure. A pristine archipelago in a sea of jazz, folk, and

Limbs could be considered a first letter of intent by Kobe Boon and his crew,
this new album dives headfirst in a world of endless possibilities. Behind

predecessor, but digs deeper, dances more frivolously and explores the edges

Almost
exactly a year after Tower Block Dreams' Time Is Now debut and the launch of
our white label series, the UK-born, Madrid-based producer returns with a
club-ready 5 tracker which fuses together the most danceable facets of UKG,
grime and breaks. The opening track "Bare Dubs" pays tribute to
UKG's antecedents in pirate radio with sporadic MC vocal samples and a
womping bassline. The product: a soundsystem banger with a disjointed, yet
fiercely controlled two-step rhythm and grimey, extended basslines a la So
Solid Crew and early Scratcha. Flip over the record and the A-side's cold
rigour is swapped out for a sultry groove. Euphoric piano stabs and playful
R'n'B vocal chops energise "If You Want The Reload" and
video-game-esque bleeps lend "Last One From Me" its blissed-out
melody. But don't get too comfortable. The aptly-named "From The
Top" sees a return of the opening tracks' grime sensibilities and
introduces an FM static atmospheric to take things back to the old school.

Pev re-masters and re-issues a
lead track from his debut LP 'Jarvik Mindstate' on Punch Drunk alongside a
newly unearthed and previously unreleased track from 2008. A leading
protagonist of a nascent, more techno indebted sound in the 07/08 dubstep
era, alongside peers such as Martyn, 2562 & Appleblim, Peverelist
released a series of tracks that helped shape and define that scene.
Alongside 'Infinity is Now' (Tectonic), Circling (w/ Appleblim - Skull Disco)
and 'The Grind on Punch Drunk to name a few, Bluez was a standout track
fusing melancholic Detroit style synths with the dub-wise aesthetics of the
UK underground. Peverelist has since explored these themes further with his

The Corner provide the first taste of a landmark recording that the label
embarked upon two years ago on the East African island archipelago of
Zanzibar. Pete On the Corner was consulting for the ambitious permaculture
development of Fumba Town. The story of Siti Binti Saad, the mother of Taarab
is rooted in Fumba. Pete joined the dots to shine new light on the pioneering
life of Siti Binti Saad as the innovative town development took shape and
looked to connect with the Island’s unique history at the centre of the
Swahili world. Whilst steering a recording project that would celebrate Siti
Binti Saad’s legacy, Pete brought in producer Sam Jones and the pair met with
filmmaker Andy Jones (who documented the life and work of the legendary Bi
Kidude) who revealed that Siti Binti Saad had a great grand-daughter, Siti
Muharam who led a very private life but had a ‘golden voice’. With music
director Matona on board the scene was set to go beyond celebrating the
singular legacy of a Swahili pioneer and find a new hero. Siti Muharam has a
golden timbre and on this 7” we get the first taste of her debut LP that will
represent her great grandmother’s legacy for the next generations. The 7” is
two tracks which are at the furthest reaches of the LP project. The A-side is
a Sam Jones Construct of ‘Ashikibaya (Ft. Tamar Collocutor)’ who find new
frontiers of this Swahili jazz out across the Indian ocean pushing a cosmic
Taarab on the trade winds. The flip is an instrumental affair with Matona
driving the stunning ‘Mandira’. This project came to life in a derelict
studio in Zanzibar in February 2018 with the help of Fumba Town Development,
Dhow Countries Music Academy, The British Council, Matona, Sam Jones and On
The Corner. The album ‘Siti’s of Unguja’ is set for release in East Africa in
January 2020 with a full international release to follow on Limited Edition
Vinyl in February |

up on Seasons Series is an upbeat 5-tracker from Berlin-based producer,
Carlo, who offers an exuberant respite from the context of urban seclusion
out of which it was imagined. Since his debut release back in 2009, the
Spanish-born house connoisseur has well and truly mastered his craft: music
that strikes the balance perfectly between the transportive, meditative
potential of deep house and disco's danceable groove. where is everybody? EP
is the product of this discovery. Lilting deep house track "Sensitive

temporal reaches of techno. Clocking in at 150 bpm, these tracks are bold and
blazing signals for a collective return to highly energised club experiences.
'Danke Dingo' pierces through a stroboscopic grid of chords – 'Iron Hive' is
one assertive rhythmic manifestation of menacingly metallic swarms. More

Whippet return to Toy Tonics with an EP showcasing emotionally layered dance
tracks and their refusal to stick to genre conventions. The duo are
synonymous with sublime cuts that are just as suited to late nights and early
mornings on the dancefloor, as they are to home-listening, this perfectly
exhibited on the "Noguiera" EP. The four-tracker is named after a
remote place in the mountains around Rio de Janeiro where it was made on a
creatively fruitful getaway in 2021. It's sentimental, joyful, bouncy, and
futuristic, and showcases the duo’s musicality combining bass guitar and
piano, with hardware synths, loops and fragmented vocal samples. Robin
explains - "Spending time in Brazil in recent years was a blessing. The
nature, culture and musical heritage over there is beautiful. Mostly in
solitude, as I ended up spending most of my time in a remote place in the
mountains around Rio, music became the only real emotional outlet for a
while. So in a way this is a record of dance music created as far away as
we’ve ever been from the dance floor!" Both from a live performance
background, Robin and Avi met studying at Goldsmiths London and found their
way to the dance floor via playing in bands, Robin a guitarist, Avi classically
trained in trumpet and later on picking up the keys. Absorbing the community
of South London, they eventually set up artist collective and record label
Squareglass - a proudly established home for new artists coming out of the
area. They’ve remixed for the likes of Rhythm Section, collaborated with
Olugbenga, and their releases have come with reworks from Ross from Friends,
Cameo Blush, Baltra and Seb Wildblood. In 2021, their hybrid sound found a
new home with tastemaker German label Toy Tonics who released their
"Vesta" EP in May, followed by a run of European tour dates
including Funkhaus Berlin, Phonox London and Amsterdam Dance Event |
