Like a steel girder to the
forehead, incomes SCREAMS FROM THE CAGE. 19 minutes of brutally up front and
relentlessly rowdy hardcore punk, that slams a firm British stamp on the
classic Swedish Hardcore blueprint. This wrecking ball sits somewhere between
the 80's Hudiksvall sounds of MISSBRUKARNA, the damaged NO FUTURE confessions
of THE PARTISANS and the sheer rock and roll audacity of the SKITKIDS. Back
to back riffs that-ll stick to your brain like the glue at the bottom of your
bag and steaming drums blasts that'll plough through your skull like a
juggernaut driven by a maniac high on amphetamine. Mylo Oxlo provides the
artwork once again, perfectly capturing the claustrophobic animosity of the
Rat's latest 12 song romp and rampage. Fittingly dropping on the year of the
Rat while the Tory's take a strangle hold of the U.K for another 4 years.
Hold onto your seat, feel the burn and don't you dare turn this fucker down |

The Wheels LP may be 45 years in
coming, but it is well overdue. The Phil Smee-designed sleeve has such a
classic period look that you would swear it came out at the time. Road Block
by The Wheels is one of the all-time great (and expensive) freakbeat /garage
45s. The Wheels were contemporaries of Thems lead singer Van Morrison who
almost joined the band several times. Both the wilder demo version of Bad
Little Woman (the one the Shadows of Knight covered) and the UK version are
also high up on the list of screaming 60s punk. These are the complete Wheels
sessions - a lesson in British (and Irish) beat music of the time |

Feted
as the "Gateway to the South" and situated just above the
Mississippi Delta's cotton-growing zone, Memphis has a long, rich history of
blues music, its strategic location rendering it a longstanding centre for
the mingling of rural and urban blues styles. The city was thus a very
fitting home for the Memphis Blues Festival of 1969 that gave rise to this
incredible double live album. Most of the tracks are provided by bluesmen
based in Memphis and its environs, such as country blues giant Bukka White,
crying blues legend Sleepy John Estes, barrelhouse pianist Memphis Piano Red,
electric banjo specialist Nathan Beauregard, country blues great Mississippi
Fred McDowell *here collaborating with harmonica player Johnny Woods(, singer
and fife player Napoleon Strickland with the Como Drum Band and Delta blues
man Furry Lewis: credited under the unlikely pseudonyms of RL Watson and
Josiah Jones are none other than experimental folk pioneer John Fahey and
steel guitarist Bill Barth, the latter a co-founder of the Memphis Country
Blues Society |

One of the rarest and most
enigmatic LPs in the Brazilian discography, Pra Quem Sabe das Coisas is a
collective album that gathered a group of students from Sao Paulo Law School,
supported by the organist/pianist Renato Mendes, one of Samba-Jazz's most important
names. Released in 1973 by the label EBRAU, finally has a refined reissue and
its mysteries revealed, exactly half a century later, considering that it was
recorded in 1971, but put in the market as LP only two years later. This
reissue comes with an original insert replica with lyrics and an extra insert
with unseen photos and an exclusive interview that the journalist and
researcher Marcelo Pinheiro did with Cau Pimentel adding even more to the
richness of this workpiece, composed by many writers and performers in 1971 |

During the mid-1980s, Rhythmites
used their music to break down racial, ethnic, and cultural barriers. Formed
in the small Roman town of Bath in the west of England, Rhythmites issued a
couple of tapes on UK peace punk pioneers SUBHUMANS' label Bluurg before
cutting debut LP Integration in 1989, by which time lead singer Angus Wright
and bassist Clive 'Flash' Gordon were injecting the Jamaican sensibility atop
the English core of keyboardist Rich Patterson, future Invisible System
drummer Gary Woodhouse and future RDF guitarist Murph Murphy. It's a
compelling set of defiant roots with a touch of new wave, reminding of the
vibrant hybrids conjured in the greater Bristol area, a worthy discovery for
all fans of British reggae and rebellious late-80s post-punk |

After the chart-topping debut
City Baby Attacked By Rats, Birmingham 'UK82' punk pioneers Charged G.B.H.
cut City Baby's Revenge, their second release for Clay Records, and even
though a mere year had passed, City Baby's Revenge showed significant progression,
Jock's guitar more obviously inspired by metal, the lyrics more explicit and
the sound even rawer than before. With a cool take of the Stooges' 'I Feel
Alright' and the reggae/rockabilly-esque 'Skanga,' this acclaimed winner is
the LP that broke the band in the USA and is arguably the best they ever
recorded required listening for the band's devotees and all fans of
metal-edged hardcore |

40th Anniversary Edition! This is it! The godfather of hardcore from DOA,
Canada's legendary punk pioneers. This is the album that popularized and
pushed the term "hardcore" into the common vernacular. For Hardcore
'81's 40th anniversary, a restored band's blistering second album to its
original state. It comes with an extensive 12/page booklet that features lots
of photos and old school flyers. See that great line up of Joey Shithead,
Chuck Biscuits, Randy Rampage, and Dave Gregg in action.indeed the Men of
Action. Tracks like "D.O.A.," "Slumlord" and
"Unknown" lash out at the listener, as well the incredible
"Fucked Up Baby" and "Smash The State" just spear one
right in the gut. This album has influenced three generations of fans and
artists like Rancid, Henry Rollins, Jello Biafra, Red Hot Chilli Peppers,
Green Day, NOFX and Sonic Youth. All versions feature three bonus tracks:
"Disco Sucks" (1978 7-inch EP version), "The Prisoner"
(1978 7-inch single version) and "Fucked Up Ronnie" (1981 7-inch EP

After releasing his first Album
Liber Novus' on Form Music, followed by 'Liber Secretus' and 'Liber Tertius'
on his Praedikat imprint, Christian Hornbostel now presents 'Liber
Prodigiorum' (Book of Prodigies). Hornbostel's previous releases have
garnered support from major players like John Digweed or Richie Hatwin and
are regularly popping up on Joris Voorn's Spectrum. Liber Prodigiorum
confirms the full diversity of Hornbostel’s various strands and his
interesting look on techno makes it a worthwhile listen, especially if you're

On Electro Records' ''Sci Fi
Electro'' series, each artist has created a 15 minute track for each side of
the record, taking you from pure electro tracks to very experimental
compositions, sounds and atmospheres. Each side is divided in ''movements''
in a continuous morphing process without any pause between different tracks.
The series is a collection of seven releases inspired by the following films
created in the 20th century: THX 1138, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner,
The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron |

On Electro Records' ''Sci Fi
Electro'' series, each artist has created a 15 minute track for each side of
the record, taking you from pure electro tracks to very experimental
compositions, sounds and atmospheres. Each side is divided in ''movements''
in a continuous morphing process without any pause between different tracks.
The series is a collection of seven releases inspired by the following films
created in the 20th century: THX 1138, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner,
The Thing, Akira, Terminator and Tron |

This
fabled 11 minute+ version of Brazilian icon Joyce's groundbreaking
"Feminina" was recorded at Columbia Studios, New York in 1977, for
the as yet unreleased Natureza album. Produced, arranged and conducted by the
great Claus Ogerman (Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Billie Holiday...
the list goes on), Natureza would have ostensibly been Joyce's big break to
international stardom, but mysteriously it was never released. With Joyce
came fellow Brazilian icons Mauricio Maestro, Nana Vasconcelos and Tutty
Moreno, and Ogerman employed North American jazz legends Joe Farrell, Michael
Brecker, Buster Williams and Mike Manieri. In anticipation of the monumental
forthcoming Natureza album release via Far Out Recordings, this astonishing
version of a true classic gets it's first proper 12" release for Record
Store Day 2022. In the spirit of making the release special for RSD, rather
than make it a single sided 12", Far Out boss called up Joyce to talk
about the recording, recorded the conversation, and pressed it to vinyl on
the B side |

Originally
written by João Bosco and Aldir Blanc and released on Bosco's 1976 album
Galos De Briga, "O Ronco da Cuica" is a samba/MPB masterpiece. In
the song, the cuíca roars: roars in anger, roars from hunger and is told to
stop, but it cannot - "it's a man thing" explains Bosco in the
lyrics. Personifying the instrument in this way, "O Ronco da Cuica"
points to something quite profound about the nature of human suffering and
our primitive need for expression. On this brilliant reimagining, renowned
bassist Dudu Lima teamed up with Joao Bosco himself, as well as Azymuth
drummer Ivan 'Mamão' Conti, pianist Dudu Viana and percussionist Marcos
Suzano. Ironically, this version contains no cuíca, instead it takes a more
stripped back instrumentation, exploring the deep jazz potential of this
roaring samba classic, to stunning effect. On the B-side is a beautiful duet
between Dudu Lima and João Bosco: acoustic guitar and vocals, and fretless
bass - together they take on "Imcompatibilidade De Gênios", also
from Bosco's 1976 Galos De Briga album |

For
the twelfth release on the main catalogue and first record of 2022 Haven are
proud to present the first full EP on the imprint from label boss Keepsakes
for two years. Following on from releases in recent years on South London
Analogue Material, Perc Trax, and more, Keepsakes brings the dancefloor heat
in this 4-track collection of 4-4 killers. The A1 kicks things off with
"Peak Egotist" - where rolling tribalistic drums, playful vocal
samples and 80s industrial-inspired synth stabs interplay in a confronting
track of driving techno. This is followed by "Malignant Motion" on
the A2, with its swung rhythms and discordant rave synthesiser keeping the
club energy high for concrete dancefloors. "Mr. Shakedown" launches
the flip on the B1 with its fast-house-gone-crunchy stylings, where a rolling
16th note synth pattern works with heavy drum patterns and ear-worm vocal
shouts to set feet on fire. The B2 closes out the record with "No
Acceptance Uptown" - a tried-and-tested frisky club banger with
mischievous "yo" vocals and a lively acid-like sequence closing out
the latest offering from Haven |

Prolific
London producer Lxury returns to the Lost Palms catalogue, this time with his
second-ever solo long play - a honey-dipped journey through the rainbow
colours of house music and its adjacent styles. Living up to his name, no
room is spared in Lxury's careful curation of full-bodied soundscapes which
make for a truly immersive listening experience. Emotion-laden melodies and
glistening pads grant permission for shameless self indulgence, whilst
flickers of cooler, harsher tones add dynamism and depth. At times, this
sounds like anthemic melodies, reverberating claps and sunshine-doused pads
("Motion" and "YT Storm"); at others, like mournful
female vocals which are chopped and looped beneath a shuffling drum pattern
("Get Down On"). Elsewhere, highly-processed flutes and
video-game-esque samples transport you to a neon speedway ("Ninja H2R
Flyby") before industrial-sounding textures and down-tempo rhythms ease
things to a blissful close ("Ride"). No matter where it is that
Vivid Night Experience takes you, playfulness and warmth are guaranteed: two
descriptors which have become synonyms with the Lxury's musical output. Vivid
Night Experience LP drops 29th April via Lost Palms |

Twilight In The Desert celebrate
15 years after the first release back in 2007! This was the debut album of
the Roman Fuzz Psychers, first chapter of their long musical history and
needed to be celebrated with an exclusive vinyl pressing with two different
colored effects! In this album the sound of the band was still raw, rough and
not defined but was the beginning of the journey who brought the band to play
all over Europe, US, Russia etc. and record 8 albums during all these years! |

Before joining vibraphonist Terry
Gibbs' quartet in 1962, Detroit-born pianist Alice McLeod played
intermissions at the Paris Blue Note and appeared on French TV with
saxophonist Lucky Thompson, reaching Gibbs' attention in a duo with
vibraphonist Terry Pollard: in the quartet, she became the perfect foil for
Gibbs, her understated piano making room for his intense improvisation,
stepping up with her own expression when needed. El Nutto, their third LP,
captures Alice at her best in this setting, as heard on the reveries of 'el
Flippo' and the title track, this solid set of Gibbs originals showing her
virtuosity, composure and curiousness, which would soon reach more cosmic
highs, once she became Alice Coltrane |

Dear
is Pauwel's big step forward. His debut album on Unday (due April 2020) is a
mature collection of songs about loss in all its different facets. Pauwel
openly confronts his demons, without ever losing sight of the essence:
rock-solid and captivating folk songs between hope and despair, comforting
and disquieting at the same time. Dear turns out a record to cherish and
completely disappear into. Shortly after Pauwel finished his previous EP, his
mother passed away. A few weeks later, Europe went into lockdown for a second
time. Pauwel wanted to cope with this turbulent episode on his debut on Unday
Records, but the isolation during the pandemic only cast more doubts. During
the darkest winter months, the 31-year-old songwriter realized that loss comes
in many guises: lovers come to leave, suddenly leave or turn out to have
become strangers. "Dear" is the account of this dark period in
Pauwel's life. A reckoning with all the bad that happened to him and his
peers. It is also a bridge to whatever comes next, a hopeful glance at the
future. On 'Dear', Pauwel expands his musical universe considerably, without
losing his characteristic melancholy and distinctive voice. With the help of
musicians Sander Smeets, Koen De Gendt and David Broeders - his new backing
band - the rough folk diamonds were polished into mature songs. The stunning
voice of Catherine Smet (aka Bluai) serves as a comforting echo on a handful
of songs. "Dear" was recorded at three different locations by
producer Bert Vliegen (Whispering Sons, Sophia). The opening track
"Murderer" and the haunting "Bones" were created in a hut
in Walcourt. The bulk of the record was recorded during an intense week at
the GAM Studio in Waimes. While the TV news showed apocalyptic images of the
floods in the province of Liège around the clock, Pauwel and his band
finished the songs. Rich, spacy arrangements ("Lazy"), rambling
country-rockers ("Deer" & "Sister") or a tearful one-taker
on Fender Rhodes ("Mother"): during this session "Dear"
finally came together |

Anfisa
Letyago has established herself as one of techno's key players. An intrepid
selector with a positive attitude, and an infectious smile, the Napoli based
starlet has been making seismic waves within the industry for several years.
Her own imprint - N:S:DA has been a home for her own dark-brooding style of
techno, but it welcomes a brand new project to kick off 2022, with the first
of 3 remix packs featuring a host of very special artists and artwork
designed exclusively by Sergio Fermariello. DJ Rush, a master of hard techno
and wicked percussive elements, he's committed himself to the art of rhythm
and drums. A Chi-town hero whose music transcends continental boundaries now
takes his hand to "Rising Sun". Staunch and unrelenting, the barrage
of bass drums keeps momentum at a hauntingly steady pace through the entirety
of the track. A true drum-machine wizard who said "It was a pleasure to
put my stamp on Anfisa's release. I felt her vibe and wanted to keep the
traditional feel to the song but give it that Rush bump". Adiel has
graced the stages of some of the industry's most accredited venues, Panorama
Bar, Dekmantel, DC10 and Concrete. She continues to bring her unique take on
techno and doesn't disappoint with her kaleidoscopic iteration of
"Orizzonte". Renowned for her ability to manipulate crowds with her
mind-bending DJ sets and mosaic-like track selection, Adiel twists the
original mix into a living techno organism of sorts, evolving and shifting
through a deep palette of atmospheric sounds and vocal cuts. "It was a
lot of fun to remix 'Orizzonte', it's maybe one of my best remixes and I am
really happy about it" - adds Adiel. Boston 168 leads us deep into an
acid laboratory for this reinterpretation of "Gravity", masters of
sound design and reformation of classic drum machines like the Roland 909,
808 and 707, the psychedelic and twisting nature of this Italian duo's tracks
is unmatched. Currently residing in one of techno's capital party cities -
Tbilisi, the pair hold down a residency at the legendary Khidi. "Gravity
is the track that inspired us the most with its deep vocal, so we merged this
with our cosmic sound" add the duo. Very few producers have rode the
pinnacles of techno as it unfolds through the decades, Chris Liebing is one
such figurehead. Revered for his energetic, seize-the-moment style of DJing
and music production Liebing is forever finding new ways to innovate within
the booth. "Remixing 'Not There' was a huge pleasure, and the production
process was very organic. I tried to take it in a little less melodic
direction by just hinting it in the break". Says Chris Liebing. This
Germanic trailblazer continues to ignite dancefloors internationally between
running his label CLR and juggling family life. Liebing steps up to the plate
with his own take on "Not There" to conclude the pack. Instantly
drawing your attention with his trademark grit laden kick drums and sweeping
dubbed-out vocal shots, along with a hypnotic and body-jolting start to a
literal Pandora's box of remix material. "Someone like Anfisa, with such
a high spirit and a smile that lights up any room deserves to have that same
representation to her music. Good music will always put a smile on your
face" adds DJ Rush |

Storming
into 2022 with a flurry of high-octane remixed from a stellar array of
artists, Anfisa Letyago continues to solidify her position as one of techno's
most talked about names. An intrepid selector with a positive attitude
regarding all things art and dancefloor related, she's been making seismic
waves within the industry for a few years. Letyago launched her own imprint -
N:S:DA last year, originally a celebration of her own dark-brooding style of
techno, the label has entered a metamorphosis of sorts, welcoming in a host
of established producers to remix the labels first two remix EP's. Kompakt
head-honcho and German techno extraordinaire Michael Mayer opens up the
floodgates of this remix project with an alluring interpretation of
"Nisida". Decades of industry experience have finely tuned Mayer's
taste making to an impeccable standard, his extensive knowledge of
dancefloors and deep cuts serves as an excellent explanation for his
undeniable ability in the studio. Ethereal vocal snapshots from the original
mix are weaved intricately amongst the machine-orchestra of arpeggiated
synths and stalwart drum loops. "My aim for this remix was to
crystallize this yearning sentiment in Anfisa's whispers by adding more
warmth and drama to the track" adds Michael. The Italian-born,
multi-faceted DJ Tennis steps into the arena with his unique take on the
original mix of "Nisida". Elegant pads flourish through the mix,
carrying listeners weightlessly into warping basslines and razor-sharp drum
work. The droning synths seem to induce hypnosis, circling and swaying around
the driving kick and scattered hi-hats. A production powerhouse since the
early nineties, DJ Tennis continues to juggle event promotion, running a
label and booking agency. A hugely talented all-rounder. 1979 draws the EP to
a close with a swirling techno edit of "Orizzonte", tastefully
minimal and precisely crafted with compelling sound design from the analog
synth wizard. Classically trained with a deep penchant for attending illegal
raves in his youth, 1979 has been making waves with a flurry of breakout hits
in recent years. The arrangement climbs through cycles of high-pitched tones
and rolling mid-range bass, taking listeners on a sonic journey steeped in
warmth with classic drum machine hits. "'Orizzonte' caught me in many
ways, and I decided to use the beautiful space-arpeggios and the shoegaze
pads made by Anfisa to create my own version of the track" he adds. The
perfect track for highway driving and rocking dancefloors |

Closing
out another breakthrough year, Anfisa Letyago has established herself as one
of techno's most talked about names. An intrepid selector with a positive
attitude regarding all things art and dancefloor related, the Russian born
starlet has been making seismic waves within the industry for a number of
years. Past releases have been featured on revered labels such as Carl Cox's
Intec, Nervous Records, Hotflush and Rekids. Letyago returns now with a brand
new project primed and ready for her own imprint - N:S:DA. Originally a
celebration of her own dark-brooding style of techno, the label has entered a
metamorphosis of sorts, welcoming in a host of established producers to remix
the labels first releases. The unapologetically raw house sound of DJ Seinfeld
opens up the third and final remix EP, putting his own spin on Letyago's deep
cut 'Insidia'. Cavernous synthlines occupy the track's main body, reminiscent
of late seventies golden-era Chicago house. The remix is laced with hard
hitting percussion and bubbling sound fx, a supercharged production primed
for widespread club usage. Seinfeld welcomes us into the project with his
trademark, rough and gloriously danceable sound palette. Letyago follows suit
by revisiting 'Nisida', reshaping the track into an electro-acid workout
adorned with sharply tuned drums and heavily-treated shimmering vocals. The
euphoria-inducing breakdown at the center point of the arrangement unfolds
weightlessly, building into an energetic barrage of low-end frequencies. Letyago's
ability to raise and release tensions within a track is truly exceptional, a
technique she has perfected over several years of DJing, witnessing at first
hand the importance of building up to moments of high intensity on the
dancefloor for maximum impact. Drum and bass royalty, Calibre offers his dark
and brooding interpretation of 'Don't Hide'. The original track has been
wickedly morphed into an after-dark roller fit for extensive basement usage.
Commanding and minimal, Calibre's remix has been executed with devastating
precision, perfectly balanced space-age pads glide seamlessly across the
disjointed rattle of breakbeats and white-noise imbued hi-hats. A painter,
fine artist, multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer, this multifaceted Belfast
producer never ceases to disappoint. Closet Yi concludes the compilation with
a slow burning techno metamorphosis of Letyago's 'Listen'. Subterranean and
primal, the track unfurls from its ambient beginnings into a low-end focused
four-to-the-floor rhythm steeped in misty reverb and distant chords. Based in
Seoul, South Korea, Yi has played at some of the most respected underground
clubs in the capital, including Cakeshop, Faust, Pistil, Contra and more. A
welcome addition to the remix project and a seductive end to this shadowy
collection of tracks |

Standard
version on black vinyl in printed innersleeve. Belgian instrumentalists Glass
Museum have found the perfect balance between piano and drums, where jazz and
electronics collide, uniting the surgical precision of the best contemporary
jazz, à la Gogo Penguin and Badbadnotgood, with the electronic influences of
Jon Hopkins or Floating Points. In motion since 2016, the duo consisting of
keyboardist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire, have a rich history
written around a powerful connection to duality. From the initial impact of
the 'Deux' EP in 2018, to the synthetic and organic textures of the
critically acclaimed 2020 album 'Reykjavik', Glass Museum has found its
balance in symmetry. Released 29th April via the groove-obsessed Sdban Ultra
label, 'Reflet' was born out of a desire for freedom, a wish to innovate and
travel differently. This new piece stands out as an artistic climax crafted
at the crossroads of time and genres, an electronic proposition wrought by
two brave hearts, tempered by the organic reflections delivered through
computer free melodies. An album which places the human at the core of its
compositions and in order to return to a more instinctive and instantaneous
means of creation, the duo retreated to a secret location in one of the most
remote parts of the Ardennes. It's there, in the shade of spruces, that the
album was first born. Extremely cinematographic, 'Reflet' delivers a
panoramic view point: jazz, breakbeat, minimal techno and deep house, collide
on neo classical grounds. From the dynamic instrumentation of album opener
'Caillebotis' to the absorbing oscillations of 'Shiitake' and grand gestures
of the album title track, 'Reflet' is an odyssey running through troubled
times, an ode to night time, to life, dreams and to all rhythms that convey
emotions beyond words. Like its immersive creative process, the album offers
a counterpoint and, above all, endless perspectives... |

...Elsewhere,
the pulsing, melodic 'Auburn' and entrancing electronic textures of 'Opal
Sequences' continue the exploration before the strutting 'Kendama' showcases
the electronic sensibilities that are buried within their productions.
Shining as a true instrumental tour de force, 'Reflet' also takes inspiration
from the progress of the Ohme Collective. At the crossroads of art
disciplines, science, new technologies and societal challenges, this creative
community draws the future of visual arts and created the album artwork for
this resolutely futuristic album. Having initially won the opportunity to
perform at the Dour Festival, Tournai back in 2016, Glass Museum have picked
up a series of awards and distinctions back home in their homeland and they now
find themselves dining at the top table of Europe's contemporary music scene.
The international music scene opened itself to the band once again in 2019,
with the duo performing at Elb Jazz in Hamburg, the legendary Ancienne
Belgique in Brussels and the Iceland Airwaves Festival, Reykjavik. In 2020,
Glass Museum distinguished themselves by remixing a track for electronic
artist, Rone. Having recently received a César Award for his soundtrack to
the Jacques Audiard film, Les Olympiades, the French producer called on the
Brussels duo's know-how - a mark of confidence which once again underlines
the international reach of Glass Museum. Germany, Iceland, Turkey, Romania,
Greece, France or Czech Republic have already approved Glass Museum's
singular recipe |

One
of Europe's most in-demand electronic music engineers turned star in his own
right, Hannes Bieger's no-shortcuts approach to making wondrous melodic house
and techno makes him an ideal candidate to provide a truly special mix for
the long-running Balance series. Since stepping back into the light as an
artist, he has released on leading labels like Bedrock Records, Poker Flat
Records, Tronic and Awesome Soundwave, topped the Beatport Progressive House
Chart, provided a guest mix for John Digweed's legendary Transitions radio
show and taken his scintillating, analog gear-heavy live show across, from
D.Edge in Sao Paolo to Awakenings in Amsterdam to Watergate in Berlin.
Balance snare him just as he begins his ascent into the uppermost echelons of
dance music. Comprised of all-exclusive music from Bieger, his friends and
collaborators, this mix capitalises on the fact that he was gearing up for
another artist album. Instead, the music he'd been saving up for his next LP
appears here, alongside music sourced from people has been working in tandem
with in the studio. "As an engineer and producer, I am working with many
'A-List' artists in this industry, but also with a bunch of up and coming
guys and girls. So, I decided to make my Balance Series not only a platform
for my own music, but to view it also as a wonderful opportunity to showcase
some of the up and coming artists I am working with." Well-established
scene legends like Gui Boratto, Victor Ruiz and Rodriguez Jr. also feature
alongside these upcoming names. Bieger wastes no time in getting down to
business, whetting our appetite with the throbbing bass, jagged synths and
heavenly vocals of 'The Butterfly & The Bee', a collaboration with
French-Lebanese producer Yet More. Tripolism's 'Volta' segues in beautifully,
with more dulcet female vocals adding a sweetness to the chromatic bassline
scales and squelching synth mutations. ALX's 'Beyond Light' draws in a
hypnotic arpeggio that pulls teasingly in and out of focus while snatches of
rasping synths cut through the darkness, and Bieger's 'Alluvium' goes into
deeper territory, channeling golden era trance with its sorrowful lead
line-but keeping things restrained with its introspective feel. Acidic bass
pressure abounds on Rafa Silva's 'Prosodia', the moody vibe intensified by
bold, heavily reverbed snatches of arpeggiated melody, before Thies Dry's
'Nomad' comes through like a sledgehammer with its intense blasts of buzzing
bass and fizzing white noise. Jason Lange's stunning 'Nebula' sends tingles
up the spine with its endlessly modulating, intricate melodies, leading into
the blissful vocals, scintillating bitcrushed arpeggios and acid squelch of
Bieger and Luna Semara's glorious 'Lose Control'. The second half of the mix is
comprised exclusively of tracks by Bieger himself. His collaboration with
Rodriguez Jr. 'Orca' pulls us into a deeper place once again, but still heady
pitch-bending melody abounds on this dreamy workout, while 'Embers' is a pure
scene-setting, brooding, atmospheric mood piece |

Re Issue , groundbreaking, chart topping legends depeche mode release their
long anticipated new studio album, sounds of the universe on mute. eclectic
and energised, the bands new release is their most dazzling and diverse album
in decades. Recorded in santa barbara and new york, depeche mode returned to
using a lot of vintage gear, from analogue synthesisers to drum machines, in
order to conjure up the retro-futuristic arrangements featured on the album.
lyrically the release contains many of the group's enduring obsessions plus
more overt black humour than any of their previous collections. like their
2005 studio album, 'playing the angel', 'sounds of the universe' features
writing credits for both martin gore, the group's primary songwriter, and
dave gahan, who, after honing his talents on two solo albums, has earned his
place as depeche mode's second writer. the release also marks a reunion
between the band and producer ben hillier (blur, doves, elbow), who worked
with the band to help give their new album its timeless sound. the first
single from the release, 'wrong', grabs the listener's attention from its
first stack-heeled, staccato shriek. over stomping beats, screeching
synthesisers, and dave's overlord chant, 'wrong' already feels like a depeche
mode classic. other standout tracks include martin's velvet-lined scott
walker croon on the sensual lounge-music ballad 'jezebel', to the sci-fi
gospel-blues hymn 'in chains' and 'hole to feed', which marries modern
electronics to a floor-shaking, bone-rattling bo diddley beat |

Artificial Owl Recordings is
proud to announce its second album release from Spain’s OG Orfeon Gagarin.
The Madrid-born Miguel Angel Ruiz (1964) is one of the leading names in
experimental music in Spain, a true pioneer of the risky and underground
Spanish electronic- music scene since the early eighties. He composed more
than twenty works, many of them in their own label (founded in 1987 )
"Toracic Tapes", and under different names (Ventral Metaphor,
Orfeon Gagarin, Funeral Souvenir, Zoltan Coxis, Michel des Airlines, etc.),
which had an important international diffusion to the point of recording an
LP for the Asmus Tietchens ´label “Hamburger Musikgesellschaft”. Also he
collaborated with russian & german musicians for diverse projects as
Codachrom or Efficient Refineries. His music is considered as bizarre,
surreal, dark and funny at the same time, using in a very personal and
original way very different styles in an amazing and unique universe |

Ellum Audio welcomes back Raxon
for another of his cosmically minded techno EPs. Egypt-born but
Barcelona-based, Raxon is at the forefront of the melodic techno scene thanks
to always well-designed sounds on Diynamic, Kompakt, Cocoon and more. As a
DJ, too, he explores an interplanetary sound that has seen him on the billing
at influential festivals and clubs worldwide, from DGTL to Resistance Ibiza
at Privilege. He opens this one with the superb 'Mantis,' a terrifically
twitchy and astral track. Robot vocals are stitched into the mix with
turbo-charged synths and a looping bassline over heavy drums. It's the sound
of intergalactic warfare with a real sense of electronic funk and cinematic
design. Then comes 'Input Robot,' a jostling broken techno groove laced up
with sleek cosmic chords. Alien life forms live between the beats, and the
elastic bass keeps you moving as the track rolls on through a turbulent night
sky. The ‘Mantis EP’ is another innovative techno exploration from Raxon |

Red
Axes make a triumphant return to Phantasy with a further trio of
expertly-crafted leftfield club tracks. Having produced several of the
label’s best-loved club moments such as ‘Sipoor’ and ‘Sound Test’, the
Israeli duo easily surpass their charismatic reputation across ‘Some Lights’.
‘Some Lights’ stomps forward to reveal the footprints of a rave giant, yet,
even Red Axes at their most anthemic unfold the unexpected. Bleary-eyed
chords stretch wistfully into the far-distance, as a male voice compounds the
mood; “Sunrise”. Suddenly, the Axes pull the rug and reveal the howling club
wolf hidden behind the sheep’s dress code, plunging dancers into a heavy trip
of vintage rave chords and EBM-drum play. The more psychedelically inclined
will meanwhile find plenty to embrace in the wide, kaleidoscopic canyons of
‘Skulls’, a deeper-still groove machine that conjures up images of untamed
sonic plains, Morricone-esque chords unexpectedly synthesised with
psychobilin. Finally, ‘Professor Grasstov’ finds the duo loosening up into
more playful form still, dragging the good name of this notable academic on a
loose, breaks'y trip full of baggy energy (and complete with audible liquid
experiments) |

Larry
Tee and Radio Slave announce The Royal Acadamy Of Fierce. Featuring Justin
Vivien Bond and Tobell von Cartier, ‘Fashion Queen / Black Pussy’s Revenge’
drops in March. Founded by US icon Larry Tee and Rekids label boss Radio
Slave, The Royal Academy Of Fierce is a project inspired by underground drag
culture and the unmistakable sound of early nineties New York house.
Featuring Broadway star Justin Vivien Bond and drag sensation Tobell von
Cartier, the first release from the project channels this raucous energy
across a ferocious pair of club-ready tracks. Best known for writing the
smash ‘Supermodel (You Better Work)’ for RuPaul, as well as a discography
that includes seminal late 80s house cuts on Funtone and Quark alongside
pivotal work with Princess Superstar, Scissor Sisters, Erasure’s Andy Bell,
and Peaches, Larry Tee’s rep goes way beyond his coining of the
‘electroclash’ genre in the early 2000s. A literal party starter for decades,
nights like Love Machine (NY), Super Electric Party Machine (London) and
KRANK (Berlin), Tee’s a genuine cultural institution |

Early
Experiments sees Jackmaster release a collection of music recorded during
lockdown, a particularly abundant period spent getting to grips with his home
studio. After years of honing his craft solely as a DJ, lockdown saw him dive
headfirst into exploring music production and sound design. As you would
hope, the results draw from as many strains of influence as his wide-ranging
club mixes do. The A Side opens with ‘Face Your Fate’ which sees Jack call in
Keith Tucker from Aux 88 and Blak Tony to further cement the Glasgow >
Detroit bond with a classic short & sweet vocal delivery. Next up is the
polished loopy techno of ‘Vizor’, reminiscent of close friend Artwork’s Grain
project meeting Chain Reaction, the EP moves through Dutch electro-funk,
Detroit influenced pads and chords and even the sounds of UK Garage. ‘SBS’
pairs a clever monologue sample with hard-hitting percussion and a floor
friendly breakdown, inspired by his his formative years dancing and watching
in awe when the likes of Lory D, Claude Young and Jeff Mills would pass
through Glasgow. The tempo rises to 140 on the menacing ‘A Tribute’, with
sharp synth programming recalling the foundational Mixed up in the Hague CD’s |

Delsin
is pleased to welcome a true pillar of the contemporary techno scene, Answer
Code Request, for his first EP in six years. As an integral part of the
Ostgut Ton family since breaking through some 10 years ago, Patrick Graser
has shaped a patient but potent discography which embodies the hybridised
nature of techno in the 21st Century. His distinctive style of melodically
embellished, subtly fractured body music helps define the contemporary
zeitgeist, but it also moves with enough emotional maturity to stand on its
own terms as compelling, artist-led electronic music. Arriving some four
years after his second LP Gens, the Shattering EP opens in an especially
exploratory mode as Graser teases elements of breakbeat and ambient techno on
the spellbinding 'Resonate'. 'Shattering' finds a different palette through
which to explore broken rhythms, leaning in on a heavyweight bassline
injected with rave-wired distortion. There are more linear techno pulses to
be found in the tunnelling propulsion of 'CRS-21', but in the interests of
contrast the EP closes with the sparkling refraction of 'Sustaining Life', a
floor-ready masterclass in electronica with teeth |

The
Anarcho-Syndicalism Initiative (ASI) is currently one of the more active
anarchist groups operating in Serbia. They are known as the Union
Confederation Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative section that forms part of the
International Workers Association4unreliable source? and they have committees
in many Serbian towns and cities, including Kragujevac, Kula, Cervenka, and
Vrsac.3 They spread their ideology through the magazine Direct Action
(Direktna Akcija), which is distributed through various channels to workers
instead of being sold on newsstands,4 and in which they publish pieces
against the state, authoritarian control, and capitalism.3 The group is
believed to consist of approximately 1,000 anarchists, many of whom are
students and workers.3. On September 3, 2009, six members of the
Anarcho-Syndicalism Initiative (Tadej Kurepa, Ratibor Trivunac, Sanja
Dojkić, Ivan Vulović, Nikola Mitrović, and Ivana Savić)
were arrested and charged with international terrorism after they were involved
in a Molotov attack on the Greek embassy in Belgrade.4 It has been claimed
that this attack was carried out in solidarity with anti-police protestors
who received unjust treatment at the hands of Greek police and
prosecutors.[4] The charge carried the possibility of 3–15 years imprisonment
and the six were imprisoned for a total of five months |

With the VOI 030 -
"Sense", the project Z.I.P.P.O enters a new sphere within its own
sound direction. This release is characterized by IDM texture work, glitchy
percussion and drum patterns, that find their room within deep atmospheric
spaces and carefully placed delay programming. Certainly, recognizable is
Maffei's eclectic taste for more complex electronic bits, which are also
known from his more demanding DJ sets. "Sense" brings together
different factettes of his nicely equipped studio arrangement, as you get to
hear a range of grainy saturated hardware synthesis to innovative and more
complex sound design. The sound of this record combines a bit of everything
while keeping its very own character. If you like to give it a name, then it
might feel like Aphex Twin meets Doppler Effekt and Pan Sonic |

Firing
on all cylinders in 2022 is Italian house pushing label, Black Box Records.
Marking the fifth release on the label is a four track vinyl VA that packs a
punch. Behind the controls for the EP they have called on a healthy selection
of artists including Land 9, Shacklo, DJ GLC and label founder, Vito Fattore.
Dynamic dance floor heat from four budding artists. Launching you into the
release is Land 9 who provides an infectious number with a killer depth and
groove at the heart of the track. “4MAI” twists and turns blissfully,
utilising a killer vocal sample which instantly lifts the mood of the
listener. Shacklo’s “Another Liability” is a crisp and punchy encounter with
a certain spring in its step, tight and rolling from the get go, ready for
the peak times. Dreamy pads doing the business here. On the flip side is DJ
GLC’s “Euro Dream”, a huge sound here from the talented Italian, four to the
floor elasticated grooves throughout, nodding to the title of the track.
Smooth synths manoeuvre their way around the driven structure of the track.
Shutting things down is label founder Vito Fattore with his “Since “87” bomb,
rough and ready, cruising on a wobbling bass line before being met with
housey chords, igniting the flame of the track. Black Box Records proved once
more they are enforcers of classy house cuts that are ripe and ready for the
dance floor, with plenty more in the pipeline for this year |

There is a place in this universe
called Ploiești. A former industrial city, grey, totally colorless. This
is where the story begins for A Dublu, a project founded in 2012 by Ardeleanu
Bogdan and Andu Simion, when they created musical sequences inspired by
Cameliei or Vlasiei areas. Geodesic 003, or Polytraffic EP is a collection of
tracks suitable for different moments in a clubbing night, acid textures,
warm synths for warm-up but also techno directions perfect for more
aggressive sessions or more alert bpm |

We are happy to announce that
after several months of delay, we have prepared our next vinyl release. It is
a very special release, since we work a long time to provide the highest
quality, from our hearts. We present the latest from DONOR "Apollo".
Techno with deep textures and dynamics for the original tracks. We also add
the remixes of Alien Rain, acid, rave and powerful as its trademark: Pfirter
gives us a more robust and forceful vision, Squaric brings the remix to 5AM,
Zadig prepared a special Break for the album & Shao delivers several deep
versions, with enveloping textures. An unprecedented detail for our catalog
is to present a BONUS TRACK. And for this we have prepared something very
special, to have the track on vinyl: YUUKI SAKAI - DI AMO. The album
"Yuuki Sakai - Hide By Launch" was presented in 2016 and now we
remastered it to add it to this limited edition. Without a doubt, these
voices will sound again throughout the planet. The message is here |

repress - Greyscale lures a mythical name to the label's roster list for it's
first release of 2020. Mike Schommer, co-founder of the fabled Deepchord
label with Rod Modell, has recently made a return to producing after a more
than decade long hiatus. With his second straight vocal-centric project here
titled "Come Home EP", Mike is breaking molds in the dub techno
genre that few others can succeed at. The multi-talented Milly James lends
her distinct voice and positive lyrics in a way that supports the music in a
fantastic way much like Tikiman did with Main Street Records and Rhythm &
Sound many years ago. The pairing is natural and perfectly balanced
throughout the EP with neither stepping on each other's bandwidth. The beats
are particularly striking and the dubbed out washes are subliminal and very
catchy. The title track "Come Home" will have everyone looking for
the dance floor while "Breathe" & "Cut You Down" are
steeped in traditional dub sounds. This record has something for everyone.
Deepchord's "Ocean remix" of "Breathe" by the amazing Rod
Modell completes the 4 tracker with a return to the roots of the genre they
so much helped define. Mike Schommer and Rod Modell together once again on
the same release. "Come Home" truly has a unique and special
meaning here. 2020 is kicking off in grand style for Greyscale with one of
Mike Schommer's most personal releases yet! It's awesome to have Mike back
active and a pleasure to have him on Greyscale. Lovingly released on 180 gram
white vinyl with beautiful photography by Kristina Petrosiene. A must have
for aficionados of true dub sounds |

After
getting glimpses of Denyl Brook's production prowess in recent collaborations
with the likes of Shall Not Fade family members THEOS and Romeo Louisa, we
welcome him to the groove-focused, dancefloor-oriented Killer Cuts series to
which he delivers 6 feel-good house bangers in his signature funk-infused
style. If groove is the word, then Denyl Brook is your man. An incredibly
prolific producer, in the space of his relatively short career the
Marseille-born Silver Steps Records boss has been responsible for an
impressive output, released via his own imprint as well as labels such as
Basement Discos and House Cookin' Records. Leaping Tenacity EP into action is
the sunshine-dipped, serotonin-saturated "Baby It's You" which
comes complete with a skippy house beat and syrup-smooth vocal licks before
"Take Me Higher" takes things deeper, cool oozing from its
funk-infused bassline. "His Name" takes us right back to the dance
floor, where we will remain firmly-footed for the next two up. Arpeggiating
synth tickles and luscious pads illuminate the aptly-titled "Bliss"
before "Hear Me" awakens us from our reverie with a hard-hitting
pulse and low-frequency acid melody. Finally, "My Friend Barry" sees
the EP at its most stripped-back - deep house in its purest form: meditative
yet steeped in sex appeal |

Running
can be a form of stress relief. It helps to clear the mind, catalyze emotions
and refuel. It can even cause a rush of energy and make you high on
endorphins. It is in these ways very similar to dancing. What sets both apart
is the collective experience. While the former is rather seldom associated
with groups, the latter almost always is. Moderat's 2nd single
"Running" has quite a unifying effect to it. It blends the isolated
voice of melancholy with the collective excitement of a night at a summer
festival. Their music is for the main stage: a highly emotive kind of pop,
which is built to dance, but never simple. The sonic palette of 'Running'
spans intricate percussions, cascading, yet overtly recognisable synths, a
driving kick drum and a whole lot of feel-good vibes. The rhythms are as
compelling as they are deadly effective. At the same time the lyrics address
feelings of impotence and powerlessness in a hyper-capitalist world, where
each individual isn´t striving for anything anymore but just repeats
mechanisms that are out of its power to control: "Running is about being
part of a mass. A mass that constantly needs to move to function, but one
that's not deciding directions by itself." (Sascha Ring) In its
endeavouring balance of self esteem and subtlety, the brightness of synth pop
and the moodiness of UK house, this song will recharge your batteries much
like a perfect workout. Its emotional juxtaposition emits a grandeur, seen
seldom in current pop music. It depicts the torn feelings of today's youth
and is another fine example of how Moderat manage to unite the two worlds of
the energy and the hedonism of the club and the thoughtfulness and delicate
instrumentation of leftfield pop music. If "Running" leans towards
the latter, '90% Wasser' the exclusive B-side of the EP, bows deeply to the
undercurrent of contemporary UK club music. In this brooding track with it´s
big dubstep claps, the lyrics are reduced to a distant humming, reminding
one´s self not to get lost in escapism but to immerse in the present |

Telefon
Tel Aviv are Joshua Eustis and Carles Cooper, two US Boys based in Chicago,
Illinois. Both are great musicians und adorable buddies with a sense for the
right sound. They already approved their talent successfully on two
previousely released albums - the third and upcoming album “Immolate
Yourself“ (BPC188) is the result and essence of a development in their music
that was initially started with their previous works “Fahrenheit Fair Enough“
(2001) and “Map of Effortless“ (2004). Both see it the same way: “The record
is still entirely Telefon Tel Aviv, but throuhout a cross processed filter
saturated, grainy, distorted, dusty and distressed”. “Immolate Yourself“
unites ten tracks with the aim to give the term “electro pop” a new
definition for the year 2009. Although each track has its own story to tell,
together they paint a bigger picture that encapsulates the Telefon Tel Aviv
sound. Arguably the album's standout track “Helen of Troy“ was in fact the
last track to be finished and in a way marked the climax and the fundament of
the whole work. Telefon Tel Aviv state: “We knew, after completing this song,
that we were in fact finished with the record“. In a nutshell Telefon Tel
Aviv are setting a statement that combines popular tendencies with their own
reflections about the electronic sound universe |

Italian
producer and Fine Human Records label head Dino Lenny lands on Crosstown
Rebels for the first time this November, bringing his distinct and personal
style to the label on the absorbing Doctor, also featuring a remix from
Nuiton. The haunting, emotive vocals of Dino impress throughout on Doctor,
chugging groove moves alongside waves of dark electronics and panic-struck,
devilish synth. A track crafted to capture the inner workings of Lenny’s
mind, transforming them into a hypnotic piece. Nuiton remixes Doctor on the
reverse, adding energy to the original with skipping hats and quirky
arrangements, building tension that reaches an intense jazzy crescendo of
percussion and brass to leave you in a headspin. On the digital release a dub
version loses the voice but retains the mysticism. With almost 30 years of
releasing records under his belt, Dino Lenny has naturally built an
incredible back catalogue of remixes and collaborations. He’s worked with
some of the biggest names in the business, yet his productions retain a
unique style that is all his own. A true lover of the 80s, when he needs that
extra touch he will add his vocals to the music, always trying to deliver
something original that will stand the test of time, often opting for
imperfect unique experience over precise emotionless never-ending loops.
Alongside this, he has remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland
and has collaborated with legends including Madonna, Wu-Tang Clan, Seth
Troxler and Dixon. Lenny has been named as “a wizard of electronic music” by
the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the
likes of Crosstown Rebels sister label Rebellion, Innervisions, Diynamic,
Cocoon & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. Constantly
evolving his sound, Dino is unpredictable & eclectic |

Circa 2000 aka William Wiffen
presents his debut album 'Thought In Vias' on Computer Club, a journey for
the ears and hearts of electronic connoisseurs. These are the sounds of an
electrical engineering graduate and accomplished musician, from Bridlington
to Brighton, via a unique autobahn of analogue synth sounds. Haunting
modulation with finely detuned oscillators sweep through the tracks, glued
together with relaxed improvisation. Provoking feelings of Depeche Mode, Air,
Neu!, Tangerine Dream and including the killer track 'Fall All Over The

Well, what about Tuesday Israeli
hybrid house and techno masters Juju & Jordash return to Dekmantel
Records with yet another outstanding release. Their relentless work ethos
makes you wonder if these guys sleep at all. Maybe that's what Tuesdays are for
DKMNTL 043 is a three-tracker and a fine display of Gal Aner's and Jordan
Czamanski's next-level, improv based way of painting records. 'Monday Mellow'
is a dubbed out, twisted and subtly emerging house groover, while 'Wednesday
Something' continues the journey with a dense electronic jazz-tinged stomper.
'Thursday, Heavy.' demonstrates their full range, combining eerie melodic
synth excursions with a jagged bassline - an out of this world, destructive
yet classy house bomb. As always their intergalactic excursions are superbly
executed. Let's give them some rest on those Tuesdays |

Some proper jazz funk here. Ron
Trent executive produced EP that reminds of bands like Atmosfear.
With its debut EP on the Future Vision label, is the band created by
artist, writer and producer Jared Hines in collaboration with executive
producers Ron Trent and Jonesy. Inspired by the Jazz Funk elements of UK
outfit Atmosfear and the alternative Disco sounds of Dinosaur L, presented
here on this EP are five tracks that embrace the energy of “live” dance
music. Reminiscent of the early 80’s Boogie sound, A Band Called Flash will
surely capture the attention of the more eclectic, global dance floor. Andras

the man himself, Nocturne will also call upon plenty of high profile remixers
and really aims to keep the spotlight on the exciting Northern Irish scene.
Nocturne, which started out as an illicit afterhours gathering and has also
spawned a weekly Saturday offshoot, The Night Institute, is a party that is
very much setting the local agenda and as such has gotten plenty of kudos
thanks to tasteful bookings like Roman Flugel, Session Victim and Gerd
Janson. After the success of the parties, the logical next step is to develop
the brand into an outlet for quality club beats. The man behind it all is
Jordan McCuaig, someone who has impressed with releases on Luke Solomon's
Classic Music Company, Extended Play and Made Fresh Daily. Like his home
city, he is very much a star on the rise, as this first new EP on his own
label proves. Expert opener 'Killing Mockingbirds' is a jostling, busy cut
with warm and dubby drums, loose claps and a fat bass line that rips right
through the middle. It's fresh and inviting and has some well sculpted synths
to add colour and heat. On remix duties first is Borrowed Identity, one of
the breakout stars of recent times who releases on DVS1's Mistress label and
the infamous Ostgut Ton. His take on the original is expressive indeed, and
the result is a peak time cut with hulking drums, catch chords and knotted
bass riffs that really get you going. Next, 'The Block' is a classically
inclined house cut with a wild and rich bassline spraying about between
pinging kick drums, spangled synths and explosive snares and is a truly
dynamic workout that will make every dance floor jack. The last of the
originals is 'Strung Out', and it has rinsing breakbeats, wild, pitchbending
tones and a dark jungle energy that makes it perfect for freakier late night
sessions. This one gets remixed in style by Adesse Versions, the acclaimed
British techno talent who runs his own label and relates his killer wares on
others like Numbers and Local Talk. In his hands it is an expansive, tough
house groove with punchy kicks and perfectly smeared synths bringing a great
sense of soul to the table. This is the start of a sure to be exciting new
label that pays homage to its local roots as well as to Jordan's own well
informed dance music understanding. As such, you should waste no time in
getting behind it |
