Kiki Gyan's star didn't burn
long, but it burned bright. Drafted into the Afro funk super group Osibisa at
age 15, he was millionaire by 18 and regarded as one of the best keyboardists
in the world by 21. In 1983 he dived head first into the New York party
scene. He took a lot of drugs, spent a lot of time in clubs and got together
a team of crack local musicians to record 'Feelin- Alright', his third and
final solo album. All the Kiki Gyan trademark elements are present and
correct. The album is unique a blend of highlife music with electronic funk
and disco. Kiki Gyan would never hit such heights again. His addictions
eventually took hold and he died aged 47, destitute and alone. 'Feelin-
Alright' remains one of the brightest stars in his extraordinary
constellation |

Legendary Chicago hardcore punks
Life Sentence began their self-titled debut in l985 with vocalist/bassist Joe
Losurdo, drummer Tom O'Connor, guitarist/vocalist Eric Brockman and vocalist
Ray Morris. Morris quit before the record was finished and the band became a
trio with Losurdo taking over the lead vocals duties with occasional help
from Brockman. Above O'Connor's pounding rolls, Losurdo's melodic bass lines
and Brockman's scathing lead licks, Losurdo and Brockman spit furious lines
about police harassment, the futility of war, unemployment, and other burning
issues, as well as punk's commercialisation: raw, raging, and excellently
executed, this is first-rate US Midwest hardcore, influential in its day, and

Nina
Kraviz's trip presents "all his decisions", the latest double vinyl
album on the label. Always moving beyond the scope of the traditional, trip's
conceptual approach brings together a range of artists around a uniting
theme, supplying a sense of cohesion and narrative thrust. "all his
decisions" is inspired by trance and especially psytrance. It continues
the exploration of the subject that first started on the "locus
error" conceptual album. Released in 2019 "locus error" had
psytrance veterans X-Dream and PTU's modern interpretations of the genre
sitting next to Sophie and Juliana Huxtable's Analemma project on the same
record. Lolytrance by ANTIGONE is the album's first single that has been
championed by Nina in many of her sets, from the biggest festivals to online
streams. trip regulars PTU once again provide their fresh contemporary take
on psytrance. Nina Kraviz contributes the concept album's hypnotic title
track as well as another iridescent Skyscrapers remix by Vladimir Dubyshkin.
As someone very close to Nina's heart the late K-HAND is featured on the
compilation with the minimalist "noroomforerror", taken from her
"inner circle" project. "all his decisions" includes
several debuts. PTU's Alina Izolenta makes her solo debut with the highly
energetic "catching up with the horizon". UFO95's
"J5TEEN" and u.r. trax "atom heart" is a modern nod to
psy classics that sit perfectly next to psytrance artist Jurek Przezdziecki
aka Praecox. Kittin is releasing on the label for the very first time and
rounds off the album perfectly with a dance floor killer

MEANIES cult classic and long out of print 'Come'n'See' album - remastered
& repackaged on LP via Bang! Records! Australia's seminal punk-rock
champs The Meanies are diving back into the vaults to re-master and re-issue
this classic early release on vinyl. Forming in 1989, The Meanies'
catchy-as-hell, buzz-saw style of punk rock and a reputation for blistering
and often dangerous live shows quickly gained a cult following across
Australia. After releasing several sold-out 7"s via influential
Melbourne indie label Au Go Go. From November 1990 to March 1991 they
released a run of EPs and singles, as limited edition 7" vinyl discs.
Most of their material was written by Lindsay "Link Meanie"
McLennan. They toured Australia, including appearances at Big Day Out
festivals in 1992, 1993 and 1994. They supported local gigs by international
artists from 1992, Nirvana, Redd Kross, Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam and Bad
Brains. Their debut studio album, 'Come'n'See', appeared in April 1992, which
was produced by Michael 'Ded' Kennedy and the Meanies. A PBS reviewer
described how they had established themselves as one of Australia's
pre-eminent underground rock bands through cultivating a huge all-age
following and upsetting the rock establishment by breaking attendance records
in the nation's capital cities. In 1993 The Meanies toured Europe and the
United States. While in the US they travelled to Seattle to record their
second studio album with Conrad Uno producing. |

The Neurotwin project is the
successor to an initiative that encompasses many projects called Virtual
Physiological Human, which was based on the idea of creating a complete model
of a human being on a computer, to perform non-invasive tests at the computational
level. Now the concept has been derived to «Digital Twin«, which seeks not
only to have an equal computational model for everyone, but to create «twin»
digital models of each patient in order to be able to make personalized

Haven't
been released in over a year and a half, London-based Bread & Butter
returns to the table serving some more minimal appetizers. BBR004 comes yet
again in the form of a VA compilation, this time featuring four more on the
rise and talented Romanian favourites. To open the dance is
"Aguamenti" by microhouse specialist Herck, starts with his typical
rumbling modular madness; enveloping the listener is a swathe of an unusual
sensual vocal and ever-switched slaps of melodic noise work from the off.
Some delicate cowbells join the scene, and the hypnotic dimension increases,
arousing our curiosity. Up next is Costin Rp, who immediately sets an housier
tone with his "If You Can". A relatively soft and bouncy low-end
area stages for a playful sequence of sci-fi sounds, catchy female vocals,
spacey pads, and a minimal groove that blinks a bit to the m-nus days. On the
flip, Midas Touch's boss Macarie "Atmosferiqua" gets a bit moody,
offering a bubbling bassline - sometimes coming with some acid splashes in
the background - and tight noisy drums. Suddenly, a long break lays itself
like a spell over the fairytale landscape until the beat kicks in again.
Closing duties are entrusted to Teluric and the harsh "Composite".
A sharp blockhead sub-bassline moves along with a muffled and punchy kick,
letting an ever-changing synth take the scene alongside over-processed
granular sounds for a deep dubby tool |

FDH. In Level 7, Joey steps away from the harder electro beats she's known

Recorded at Willem Twee Studios 's-Hertogenbosch in 2019/2021. Stasis covers
a range from my first encounter with this synthesizer to performances where I
have grown more accustomed to it. Each piece developed its own structure
whilst playing and exploring the instrument. During later visits to the
studio, I expanded the spectrum on tracks II an VIII with two ARP 2600s and
an analog tape machine. Stasis grew into a document where I aimed for the
music to feel close, stripped to its essentials and saved from the whims of
editing and vast processing |

Blueprint welcomes Token's Kr!z
to the label with his second ever solo EP. Kr!z, hailing from Ghent (Belgium)
has always had a strong empathy for the gloomier, dark, raw sound of techno
with artists like Jeff Mills, Surgeon and James Ruskin playing a major
influence in the 90's, helping him to define his musical taste and develop
his own identity in the Techno scene. As a respected and established figure
in Belgium for almost two decades, his DJ schedule takes him all over the
world. In 2007 he launched his own label, Token, which he's rapidly
established as a firm fixture with its timeless and powerful sound. In 2019

repress - Mancunian genre-bender Interplanetary Criminal comes back for more
on Shall Not Fade sublabel Time Is Now; In My Arms EP makes his third full
release on the imprint. This time round, he shares four carefree
rave-influenced garage pieces topped off with a rolling drum and bass remix
from breakbeat master Coco Bryce. Much like his previous releases - spanning
Time Is Now, Sneaker Social Club, Banoffee Pies and more - these tracks feel
mildly tongue-in-cheek. The upbeat title track is skippy, summery garage that
adds a twist of organ to add some playful flavour. "Momofuku"
utilises cartoon-villain vocal samples for a similar effect, multilayered and
crackling with ear candy but with a deep bass that builds through the rest of
the record. Into the B-side, "Opulence" focuses on this darker
edge, echoing and growling with a sub bass that begs to be blasted through a
towering sound system. "Let Loose" caps off the record in style, a
rattling snare giving way to large house stabs that glimmer over swells of
bass - a hands-in-the-air rave track. Coco Bryce's reimagining of the title
track sees it transformed into a deep and gritty drum and bass roller with a
drop as powerful as a gunshot |

Steady Cool is another fine collection of Rocksteady hits. The ‘Cool’
subtitle could not be more relevant to an album, as around 1966, an extreme
heatwave hit the Jamaican island. This would not stop the all night dances
from going ahead but the jerky Ska Rhythms proved too strenuous of an
activity to partake in, so a new slower beat to suit this extreme weather had
to be found and the ever resourceful music entrepreneurs came up with the
slower paced beat and Rocksteady was born. This two-year Rocksteady period
ran until 1968 and would see some of the power escape from the big three
producers, Clement ‘Coxone’ Dodd, Prince Buster and Duke Reid. It was time to
make room for a new wave of up-and-coming producers that also had something
to offer the people. Such names as Joel Gibson (Joe Gibbs), Sonia Pottinger,
Derrick Harriott and most prolific of them all, Mr Bunny Lee would step
forward and add some new musical touches to the island. Rocksteady was an
inspirational and somewhat overlooked sound that provided us with some
outstanding music. So, sit back and enjoy some Rocksteady straight from the
dances of Jamaica. Hope You enjoy the set…. |

Hell and Radio Slave are Radio Hell for REKIDS200. Celebrating the label’s
landmark release, the two legendary producers’ team up for a massive
two-tracker with artwork from Alan Oldham, aka DJ T-1000. From the
electro-influenced intensity of ‘Radio Hell’ to the melody infused techno of
‘Lost Souls’, ‘This is Radio Hell’ is a release worthy of its creators'
reputations as two of the most recognisable names in dance music over the
past few decades and beyond. With both tracks clocking in at over 11 minutes,
the release is epic in every sense of the word and is a fitting 200th release
celebration for a label that has hosted some of the finest names in house and
techno since its inception in 2006. DJ Hell, founder of International Deejay
Gigolo, curator of the Museum of Modern Electronic Music, DJ since the late
1970s and acclaimed producer, is an icon of modern dance music and culture.
Drawing lines between photography, art, design, fashion and music, Hell has
worked with Sven Marquardt, Tom of Finland, Balenciaga, lectured at the
Munich Chamber of Architects and created his own fragrance, all whilst
holding down residencies at Tresor, E-Work and Watergate throughout his
career. Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards, is responsible for some of the most
recognisable techno tracks in the genre, including ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop
No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts. His collaboration
work with Joel Martin as Quiet Village and solo work as Rekid has received
critical acclaim, and he remains one of the most in-demand and consistent
remixers around. Rekids is one of electronic music’s most bankable imprints,
having played host to the likes of Nina Kraviz, Robert Hood, Joe Claussell,
Mr. G, DJ Deep, and Laurent Garnier amongst other esteemed artists. Reaching

Following
the release of his track 'Celestial' on Fuga III, Ignez is back on Token for
his own 4 track EP 'Nadi' to confirm that his work cannot be overlooked.
Dissonant and seductive synth work offer the only release from a uniquely
unforgiving use of percussion throughout the project - a masterclass in
effect. Kicking off the record with a track built on atmospheric shifts
certainly sets the tone and it's called 'Aura'. Carefully sequenced and
erratic synth lines are thinly sliced by high energy top percussion to make
an anxious opening. Moving on to the A2, Ignez strips things down to the
essentials and takes out the ear candy. Being the most rhythmically-centered
piece of the project, 'Warrior One' fills space through the body of its few
elements to accept tension from a simple yet hypnotic vocal synth. The linear
quality of this piece then dives into the persistently moody title track
'Nadi'. A more cinematic addition to the EP, 'Nadi' brews tension through
most of its elements over the duration of the track to be released into a
deep club groove with expert attention to detail. The attitude of this track
makes for a twisted way to drop into the final piece of the EP, 'Centaurus'.
Built on a strong base of a more classically crafted rhythm, the unpredictability
of this B2 lies in the melodic interactions between the bass synth and
suspenseful strings that stalk the listener for a cliffhanger of a closer.

The Microbeat' is the long-awaited debut album by Sync 24. London's Phil
Bolland, known as Sync 24 has been flying the electro flag for over two
decades via his popular Scand parties and beloved Cultivated Electronics
label which he launched in 2007 as a direct response to the dwindling electro
scene in the UK at the time. The label has gone on to feature many of his own
releases, his collaborations with the likes of Silicon Scally (Carl Finlow),
DMX Krew (they collaborate as MMT-8), The Exaltics and Morphology as well as

the fourth installment of the ELEGAL RECORDS sub-label, Klasse Wrecks is
happy to present 4 different versions of a track that originally came out in
1993. Produced by the South London duo Aura (Gary Folgate and Dave Tutt), the
track featured on an EP of the same name and was originally released by
Infectious Records. Now specially remastered and remixed for 2022, the record
comes with new versions from original group member Electron Forest (Dave
Sage) and label regulars Luca Lozano and DJ Steve. The original tracks parts
are picked apart in the new remixes, most making weighty use of the signature
pipe drum melody (which was originally made by hitting lengths of plastic
pipe with table tennis bats). Electron Forest turns in a wonderfully produced
version, this is modern Trance with stylish elements perfectly executed. Luca
Lozano provides what is now expected from the producer, a stomping
breakbeat-led groover that introduces new vocals to peak the interested while
DJ Steve turns in an ever impressive and original sounding Bleep-Techno
interpretation, replaying the original parts with new synthesizers providing
the tunes |

Hidden's sixth solo album "Isoclusion" is less aimed at dance
floors and more intended for home listening. It was written during the Covid
pandemic and could be considered the most introspective DJ Hidden album to
date. As the titles of the twelve tracks on this release suggest, it explores
the emotional processes he experienced during and after mandatory physical
and mental isolation. The way our thoughts are shaped is constantly changing
and it can be interesting to think about the elements responsible for this.
Actual quarantine but also prolonged exposure to digital platforms and
so-called social media could both have had an influence during this unique
period in recent times. The ways in which we are exposed to information could
modify thoughts, experiences, and even memories. Current events force us to
strongly rethink our place in individual social bubbles but also our place in
the world. All tracks on this album were written with thoughts like this in
mind. Even its portmanteau title is meant to provoke the listener into
exploring thoughts: their own and those of others. While most music on this
release is instrumental, the combination of words in the track's titles, as
well as their rich atmospheres and melodies are of a type that suggests yet
never forces anyone into a particular way of thinking. The music leaves
enough room for the imagination and enables it to be the dynamic force it is
supposed to be. Each track is capable of transportation, taking listeners to
a world of their choosing. It can be interesting to wonder, though: have
these worlds also changed, and if so, what have they changed into? |

In a very special edition of our
Basement Tracks series, house legends Alan Fitzpatrick and DJ Deeon team up
on a Chicago-inspired house track, later flipped by Shall Not Fade family
member, DJOKO. A figure who needs little introduction, Alan Fitzpatrick has
long been electrifying dance floors with his big-room selections and
production. This EP sees the tech-house icon collaborate with the equally
illustrious DJ Deeon on a track which gleams from the Chicago producer's
musical heritage in juke and Ghetto house. "Shake That Thang"
cruises along a deep house beat whilst Deeon's unmistakable vocal chops float
over the top, offering a blissed-out take on the genre before Cologne's house
music stalwart DJOKO who brings the funk on a buoyant flip. Rounding things
off, "Learning to Love" sees Fitzpatrick fly solo with a
sunshine-doused melody and euphoric drops. This one's sure to be heard on
festival stages all across the globe this summer. Learning To Love EP drops
