She
Is My Woman is Murphy William's loose, funky and spontaneous call to the
dance floor. It's an infectious collection of good-time tunes that the band
seem to be enjoying as much as the listener. Williams was a stalwart of the
Nigerian music scene, joining Godwin Omabuwa's Cassanova Dandies at 17 before
becoming one of the two lead vocalist of The Apostles from Aba. He was famous
for his distinctive four octave voice, a voice that legendary label boss,
Godwin Tabansi decided was perfectly suited to the new disco sound that was
gripping Nigeria. The title track gets the party started with Felix Liberty
providing the good-time guitar riffs, Friday Pozzo on congas and Sonny Enang
keeping it light on keyboards. The vibe is tight and bright, breathy a breezy
charm into disc-tied versions of Igbo folk songs 'Selense' and 'Ima Obi O.'
The undoubted highlight of the album is 'Get On Up', a certifiable disco
classic that would slay any dance floor anywhere in the world. It's funky,
it's fun and by the time the lyrics implore the listener to get on up and
dance their feet have already been convinced by the music. Put it on and it's

Baad
John Cross's New Revolution is a Afro-electro-funk-boogie-disco banger that
could only come from 1980s Nigeria. Bright, optimistic, with an unrelenting
eye on the dance floor, it is regarded by many as a prototype of the electro
rhythms that would become the signature sound of Nigerian boogie. A
Cameroonian by birth, Cross arrived in Lagos a cheeky smile, a pair of white
dungarees and a bag full of songs. After proving his chops with uncredited
session work, he signed with the legendary Coconut label, hooked up with
producer Modjo Isidore and created a stone cold boogie classic in New
Revolution. 'Gimme Some Lovin' and 'Get Up And Dance Salsa' (briefly a dance
craze in Lagos, apparently) are dance floor classics, 'Jeanie My Love' the
obligatory love ballad and 'We Need Freedom' a Marleyesque call for peace
across the continent. The real surprise is 'Rock n Roll Birthday', a
rockabilly number straight out of 80's London. (The cover photo has a similar
vibe.) Sadly, New Revolution was to be Baad John Cross's only album. He was
soon back in Cameroon, eking out a career as a session musician, but not
before creating one of the freshest Nigerian boogie albums ever made. - Peter

Beksi's Modeight imprint turns out its 14th record with mighty Moldovan
producer Dubfound. Spread across 4 tracks, his "No Time For Wind"
EP winds its way through a classy and cutting edge minimalist house vibe. The
A-side begins with the mind bending, "Mishkitsunami", a raw and

Skating the lines of punk,
post-punk and goth, Paranoia was formed in the northern potter's town of
Stoke On Trent from the ashes of politically-oriented protest group, Civil
Defence. With the Brereton Brothers on drums and guitar, and bassist Mick
Edgington and his wife Jan on vocals, the group had an intimacy not often
encountered in punk, their outlook and northern location bringing them onto
Riot Squad's Rot Records for this sole LP. The music is fast, bold and deals
with pertinent themes, "Vietnam," "1984" and "My
World" protesting political failures, "Dead Mans Dreams" and
"Man In Black" edging towards the gothic. An overlooked classic
that reflects the underground musical shifts of the early 1980s |

The
first record from keepitgoing. is finally here, a panorama from Switzerland
all the way to Chile in our world with no borders. An EP from Camilo Gil
& [ONE+1] with 2 originals backed up by two contrasting interpretations
from Dorian Paic and Franco Cinelli, is how we kick off our labels musical
journey in our vinyl only series. The opening original track "Can
Soleietes" offers a minimal, dubby twist with sweeping chords and
atmospheric pad work with hints of skippy percussion layered throughout. On
the second original "Opera House" this is where things begin to
turn around a darker, acidic corner consisting of rolling acid baselines and
spooky pad-work. It features various chords and stabs working in the
background, while the prominent acid bass moves around creating some dark,
trippy vibes on the listener. Franco Cinelli reworks "Can
Soleietes" perfectly with a minimalist approach to the track, offering a
more mellow and groovy interpretation of the original. One that will get you
lost in the cosmos with an immediate listen. The second remix from Dorian
Paic is a more stripped back affair than it's original. It is another
minimalist one that represents his sound truly, as a classy remixer for the
EP alongside fellow family member Franco. Join us as we begin our journey
from every corner of the world, all connected without any borders between us.
Like this, anyone can express themselves freely, and really create the way
they want to without any judgement or limitations. We are a forever growing

repress - For the fifth instalment on their label the VBX crew taps frontman
Ferro once more. His 'I Change, Just Like You' EP is a self proclaimed
artistic statement from the man, who's rising star shows no signs of slowing
down. The name Endresonic - the A side of this two tracker - subtly
references the Norwegian vocalist, who's haunting voice lends the percussion
heavy and uplifting track a visceral quality. It's the type of track that you
will be humming the day after you heard it being played out by your favourite
DJ, wondering what it could be. Dark Revelations on the flip feels almost
like the Mr Hyde to Endresonic's Dr Jekyll. Countless heady modulating
soundscapes, gurgling bleeps and blobs, subtle percussive elements and an
eerie voice - with Ferro's signature groove as the backbone holding it all
together - ensure a trippy, almost cerebral, listening experience. 'I Change,
Just Like You' provides the listener with an aural glimpse into the

The
fast rising FUTURA imprint from Leon, releases its new release from Mexican
DJ Producer Mike.D with stellar remixes from Len Lewis and Do Or Die to
complete the package. Salomon Records founder Mike.D hails from Juarez
Chihuahua, and is considered one of the new generation talents of DJs and
producers from northern Mexico. His music selection and mixing abilities have
given him the opportunity to play at the legendary Mexican venue Hardpop for
many years. As a producer he’s released on labels like Kanja Records, Kina
Music, The Lab, Dream Culture and more which has cemented his place in the
scene. His music is regularly supported and played by the likes of Arapu,
Sepp, Cosmjn, Maher Daniel, Mihai Pol, Sublee, YokoO and more. For his debut
release on Futura, he drops 2 originals the first of which is the title track
‘Mente Trascendente’. An edgy minimal deep tech house track with a grooving
electronic bassline, deep atmospheric pads, classy beat pattern all combining
to create an elegant 8 minute journey. The second on the package is Len
Lewis’s remix of ‘Mente Trascendente’. Len Lewis released his first track
back in ‘93 on Jumpin & Pumpin, which then led to records on the likes of
the legendary Swag. Lewis’ designated name for his sound is, SiTH, Sinister
Tech House, claiming its mysterious name after a Mixmag reviewer used this
description for his music many years ago. His remix fits this name perfectly,
powerful low bassline drives the track effortlessly, and smooth breakdown
combining with eerie incidentals and pads, treated vocal cuts providing the
signature hook for the track. This is a remix that’s perfect for the heads in
the scene. Next up we have ‘Sendero Interno’. The original mix is a pure
minimal work out right from the outset. The stripped back and delicate beats
use popping sounds for filling the frequencies, and work perfectly against
the backdrop of the brooding pads and synths make this an classy
introspective underground track, which is everything the Futura label is about.
To round things off we have the final remix which comes from My Own Jupiter
DJ Producer, Do Or Die. Well known for producer techno and electro the fast
rising producer, delivers an acid house sci-fi esq work out on this remix
with punching beats cutting through the mix, whilst retaining the brooding
synths and samples from the original and adding in some special vocal cuts to
keep this remix unique and perfect for the floor |

Maceió,
the capital of Brazil’s Alagoas state on its sprawling east-coast, is home to
pastel coloured colonial houses, white sand beaches and a brilliant young
composer, poet and multi-instrumentalist named Bruno Berle. With a voice of
pure gold and a startling sensitivity for heartfelt pop songwriting, on No
Reino Dos Afetos (In the Realm of Affections), Berle firmly embraces
earnestness, through starry-eyed Brazilian love songs, ambient vignettes,
warm, home-cooked beats and gentle strokes of MPB genius. “It’s an album that
was built from my desire to find beauty”, Berle explains - his simple,
graceful words mirroring the graceful simplicity in his music. But amongst
the simplicity, the compositions, arrangements and productions on No Reino
Dos Afetos tingle with nuance and detail. On the contemporary R&B
inspired lead single “Quero Dizer” - produced by Berle and longtime friend
and collaborator Batata Boy - the swirling, lo-fi, kalimba and guitar-fronted
beat is turned into a feel-good hit by the ingenuity of Berle’s honey-soaked
vocal melody. Powerfully intimate, “O Nome Do Meu Amor” (My Love’s Name) is a
guaranteed tearjerker, with Berle’s stunning voice soaring over gently
plucked acoustic guitar and the textural flutter of soft movement, as if we
hear him writing the song in the moment. Drawing upon a close-knit,
collaborative scene of Maceió artists and musicians, (of which Berle and
Batata Boy are vital members), Berle also recorded some of his friends songs
on the album, including João Menezes’ “Até Meu Violao”, the album’s
beautifully laid back sunshine soul opener, which has all the charm of
early-70s João Donato. Having cut his teeth in soft-rock group Troco em Bala,
and more recently finding himself embedded in both Rio and Sao Paulo’s
contemporary music scenes - collaborating with the likes of Ana Frango
Eletrico, who took the photo for the album cover - No Reino Dos Afetos is as
musically diverse as Bruno himself. It’s hazy indie rock (“É Preciso Ter
Amor”), calming ambient and field recording (“Virginia Talk”) as well as
Berle’s own take on West African High Life (“Som Nyame”). Instantly
recognisable as a truly special artist, Berle’s character fills every corner
of the sound, which is unsurprising considering he played most of the

Psychologist Timothy Leary and his proposed theory of "The Eight-Circuit
Model of Consciousness". The Models are applied to the "Overmind"
album and present a varied collection integrating acid house, techno, electro
and rave culture. 3 of the tracks on offer here were written exclusively for
Mike's live performance at the De:tuned "Meeting of Minds" event in

is the Universe, and Ahora Aquí, Todavía No the journey that will take you
through it. Patrycja and Louis will be your guides, and with their Bass
Station, RX11, JP/8000 and ethereal voices acting as a synth/pop spaceship,
all the marvels and mysteries they have seen will be revealed, because they
"want to fly and swim at once, forever, in another density". The
Barcelona/based duo continue to hone their brand of electronic post/punk,
dishing out beats, hooks and atmospherics in generous servings, and whilst it
retains much of the stark minimalism of their first LP *2019-s Terra Alta(,
Ahora Aquí, Todavía No somehow feels deeper, more lush and considered.
Clearly influenced by music from the 1980s - synth/pop, new wave, post/punk -
Fatamorgana manage to create a sound that avoids standard retro manouevering,
landing instead on something distinctly their own / an album made from cold
sounds, that in their union become warm. A record that could just as easily

name with his roots in atmospheric techno steps up for his first solo EP. 'De
Storm' opens the account with a loose collage of textured drums and
scuffed-up synths. It makes for a bubbly groove that journeys far off into
the night while 'De Bron' is more rooted underground, with cavernous echo
chambers run through by supple bass synths and icy hi hat trails. Spooky and
haunting, its a track to send shivers down your spine. Last of all, 'Het Meer'
is a watery affair, with aqueous drips and drops, radiant pads and then more
tightly coiled drums brushing up against one another to make for something

Jay Lumen's successful Preacher, The Loop and Aura tracks were
massive chartbreaker weapons of his Voyager album. Finally these floorfillers
are out on vinyl as well. The Drumcode, Second State artist and Footwork
label head Jay Lumen was playing these bombs all around the world from South
America to Europe, USA, Africa, Asia and Australia. The live tests were very
helpful to get the final results for a fully gem release. As Jay explained:

This vinyl, like the previous ones, brings together musicians from all
corners of our one, united planet Earth. The journey begins in Argentina and
is guided by young artist Samos, charging with a powerful vibe and ocean
energy in his track "0303". These numbers can serve as a reference
point that everything that happens in the life of everybody, who has a
YOIONWAXOO7 record in his hands, goes on time and right, and the vibe of the
track will give confidence in every step. This wave is picked up by another
young musician from England - Wodda. He immerses into a modern industrial
city with his track "Fantasy", showing real underground sound,
among English architecture, stoneworks, castles, followed by modern bridges,
arenas, where everything is moving in steady but calm rhythm. Do not be
afraid to fantasize, to dream, to invent something new! That's what the
YOIONWAXOO7 journey is all about! After a brief respite while the record was
flipped and put back on the turntable, the journey continues in Italy, where
Anania with his track "Cobra Goal" takes us into a world of
experimentation. Keeping the wave of confidence and open mind from previous levels,
you can set a goal and experiment to achieve it, just like a cobra does.
After successful experiments and reaching the goals, it remains to work on
small things, details, like weavers work on every fiber of the carpet, as
demonstrated by one of the most experienced musicians of house music scene in
Russia - Matpri in his track "Vors", which completes the journey
entitled YOIONWAXOO7. Complementing the musical component of the journey is a
classic animated artwork made by YOI headmaster Watsche. Supporting the
experimentation and work with details in the music, an animated
"snake" from the well-known game of the same name appears on the

Zapha - electric/upright bass. With the release of The Paradox: Live at
Montreux Jazz Festival, techno legend Jeff Mills and keyboard wizard Jean-Phi
Dary embark on an exciting, ground-breaking musical trip that takes Techno
and electronic dance music to a new level. In the past Jeff has spoken of the
need to, "take a few steps back and try and assess what has been done,
and what might need to be approached to be able to go forward." Paradox:
Live at Montreux is the result. "Trying new things is important, it's
reminding people we have not exhausted all possibilities with what we can do
with electronic instruments," he says. Jeff argues that the form of
Techno we know today formulated itself around the '80's and the early '90's,
after the bang of the rave culture, yet audiences today are still content
with the conceptual heritage of Studio 54 and Paradise Garage - that minimal
form of music and repetitive loop-form of dance music that everyone dances to
today. "I really think creatively we have exhausted ideas to a certain
point and I think it's healthy to look to other genres and the key elements
that make them interesting," he continues. "You look and compare
and maybe borrow some ideas, and bring those back to electronic music, to see
if it can further our creativity." The Paradox's direction of travel
into unexplored musical territory should come as no surprise since the Original
Techno Wizard has never stopped pioneering new ideas. After all, when he
originally burst on the scene in Detroit in the 1980s he was ahead of the
game - mixing on three turntables, introducing a Roland TR 909 drum machine
in his sets, and co-founding Underground Resistance in 1989. Throughout his
career he has been exploring the creative possibilities of techno and
electronic music, pushing at its boundaries to broaden the music's
possibilities, such as introducing a programmatic element to Techno with his
the score for the 1927 silent film classic Metropolis or his 2001 classic
Time Machine, based on H.G. Wells' novel of the same name. Never content to
outstay his welcome by staying in the same place for too long, in 2005 he
revealed the breadth of his imagination with his conceptual classic Blue
Potential, an album with the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra that saw
techno happily co- existing alongside symphonic sounds |

Zolex
heads up our next Bonzai Classics vinyl release with his 1993 cut, Time
Modulator. New remixes come from Emmanuel Top, Tome Hades and Kony Donales
who add their own unique twists to a techno classic. Back in the
mid-nineties, Frank Struyf was churning out top club hits on Dance Opera,
Circus, Frank’s own Zolex Records and our very own XTC and Bonzai Records
imprints. Despite his busy DJ schedule Frank still found the time to produce
his own sounds. Many years of producing quality records followed and he is
still twiddling the knobs and spinning sets to this day. The Original Mix
graces the A1 slot, with its dark drums and rolling techno vibe hitting the
spot. Moody and twisty, the groove becomes infectious and hypnotic thanks to
a combination of blippy, bleepy sounds and relentless strings. The energy
levels rise after the break, causing chaotic scenes on the floor, an absolute
stomper. French DJ and producer Emmanuel Top takes up the A2 slot, delivering
a fine remix with his instantly recognisable signature sound. Responsible for
so many acid laden moments throughout his career, Emmanuel Top remains an
inspiration to many. On the remix here, the tension mounts as 303 lines fade
up alongside a hybrid drum construction and hypnotic FX. The acid effect
takes hold, dominating the groove, the perfect set builder to whip up the
crowd. Over on the flip, Belgian artist Tom Hades offers up his
interpretation, turning the original into a slamming slice of techno for the
modern dancefloor. Undoubtedly, Tom is responsible for some of the best
techno joints released in recent years. Here, he employs his skills to great
effect, using banging beats and minimalistic sounds that drive a solid, dark
room techno vibe. This one is a must have, no doubt. To complete the vinyl,
we have French artist Kony Donales on remix duties. Kony is the owner of
Cayden Records which has churned out top techno tracks since 2011. He is
known for his minimal style and he definitely knows how to work a track. The
remix here brings the essence of Time Modulator into the 21st century with a
strong contemporary groove. Nice pounding kicks and crispy percussions set
the rhythm loose as metallic hits join raucous percussions and FX. Top-notch
stuff once again |

Bongos,
bouzouki and Farfisa organ galore ! The explosive cocktail of rock'n'roll and
traditional Tsifteteli hailing from 1960's Greece is still alive thanks to
Deli Teli : the Marseille-based quartet performs a string of forgotten hits
that once set Athens on fire, with a contagious energy and a subtle dose of
Mediterranean drama. Half a century ago, while French seasiders would dance
to « Yéyé » sounds and dig the Beatles or Pink Floyd, a whole other scene was
happening further along the coastline. Notably, Greek artists were a huge
influence beyond the Mediterranean cradle ; Aris San's version of « Boum Pam
» (a.k.a. « Bros Gremos Kai Piso Rema »), brilliantly interpreted by Deli
Teli on this record, was a n°1 hit from Southern Europe to the tip of India !
Far from being an exclusive Greek sound, Tsifteteli music has travelled
through borders for centuries and means « double string » in Turkish. In the
1960's, it mixed with rock'n'roll, surf and Latin-american influences, and
gave birth to the typical « Laïko » sound. With their powerful electric
bouzouki (Greek lute) and the distinctive sound of the Farfisa organ, Deli
Teli have carved their style while digging through the incredible goldmine of
the late 60's and early 70's Tsifteteli/Laïko singles. The 4 musicians met in
2019 with a burning desire to dive into electric sensations – bassist
Christos Karypidis used to play oud and keyboardist Arthur Bacon played
accordion in most of his former projects – and made the most of 2020's «
lockdowns » by building their repertoire and thinking up Deli Teli. On this
mini-album, they also interpret Koko's « Chily Chily », a groovy belly-dance
mover ; « Ekso Dertia Kai Kaïmi », an intoxicating and frenetic floor shaker
; « Tsiftetelli 1969 », a cool organ-lead surfing instrumental ; and 2
slightly freer and more psychedelic numbers, « Taksim Deli » (improvisation)
and « Bournelis », a creative re-arrangement of 2 tracks by Leonardos
Bournelis. Deli Teli preach a collective, sensual and solar hip-wiggling
across the continents and beyond ; they are ready to shake our minds and

strength to strength, touring around his homeland and New Zealand and playing
at large-scale festivals like Pitch Music and Arts. If you thought Moment in
Time EP was kaleidoscopic, Vagabond EP gives the word a new meaning, touching
base at disco, acid and speed garage. The A-side showcases Brando's
inimitable take on house with meandering funk basslines and skippy drums
(Ricardo's Kicks'); classic disco samples and deep bass thumps ('Flux
Deluxe'); and earworm acid melodies and whispering cymbals ('Radar'). 'Marz'
then might take you by surprise - although less so for those accustomed to
Jordan's artistic versatility - a warped bassline groans over a garage
rhythm, bringing the UK-inspired ruffage before 'UGOT2C' strips things back.
Deep rolling drums lend the track a grooveable swing before and blissful
breakdown leads to a solid, thumping drop. Finally, it's up to the title
track to close proceedings. Let Evanna's syrup-smooth vocals stroke the soul
whilst celestial piano tinkles and a blissed-out garage rhythm transport you

repress - 2020 was a big year for dj poolboi (AKA Adam Ansley); his debut LP
'it's good to hear your voice' and a remix for Moby amongst his achievements
- now the Austin native has turned his mind to the UK with a shimmering
four-track release on Shall Not Fade. 'rarities ep' is the premiere release
in a new series, Classic Cuts, which focuses on feel-good sounds of all
styles, with a nostalgic edge. Ansley describes his sound as "music to
skate to" and rarities has some of that languid summertime feel to it,
but has a vibe that brings to mind a boat party on some sun-baked French
coastline more than a skatepark. It opens with 'Ghosts'; a track as
melancholic as the title. Touched with faint vinyl crackle, lingering keys
draw you into a driving house beat that is danceable despite its haunting
air. Where 'Ghosts' has you slowly swaying to the beat, beer in hand, 'Tu
Tienes Mi Corazon' is a hands-in-the-air banger - all subtle bassline and
slow natural breaks. Saxophone melts in and out of the background and the
A-side fades away into birdsong. On the B-side, 'Elope' leans into the
summery day-party energy replete with syncopated organic percussion; it's a
track that ebbs and flows wonderfully. Closing out the record, 'Before You
Go' is the most "electronic" piece, a nod to electro that
forefronts the earworm bassline. The EP is a balm for the soul that is made

Marc
Brauner makes his return to the label, this time collaborating with fellow
Berliner, Ulrich Harrison - better known by moniker Tender Games - on five
summertime sweeteners. These two producers are no stranger to working
together, co-running their own imprint, Nostalgics Records in their home town
of Berlin. This collaboration then came together naturally, and represents
the ideal blend of Marc Brauner's syncopated rhythmic tendencies, and Tender
Games' musical antecedents in soul music and penchant for instrumentation.
'Concrete Jungle' epitomises this fusion: a two-step rhythm carries a deep
bassline which cruises beneath a blissed-out trumpet melody. 'You Keep Me Up'
and 'Listen' are skippy old school bangers, the former complete with anthemic
piano stabs a la Manix and Inner City and the latter peppered with blithe
whispers of a saxophone. 'It Makes Me' follows suit, substituting hi-hats for
a focus on funk-inflected low ends before the UKG-leaning 'Violation' draws
things to a close with MC vocal chops and bass womp ruffage. Concrete Jungle

Innovative Communication label, Visions of Audio delves further into
minimalist musique concrete, extending themes developed on Memorymetropolis
in drawing on non-European vocal chants, here applied in dissociative layers.
The diverse, complex arrangements include the symphonic synths of 'Promised
Land' and the war-mode Sensurround of '1922 In Baku,' as well as the obtuse
loops of 'The Final Ritual,' the work inspiring future hitmaker Pilooski.

Italian migrant relocated to Peru
Luciano Luciani put together an orchestra in 1968 which performed under the
name Luciano y sus Mulatos after gaining a name as composer in that country.
His debut album "Mulata, Vamos a la Salsa" was originally released
on MAG in 1970, comprising mainly cumbias and also guaracha, son and salsa
tracks, mainly Luciani's own compositions. This album also stands out for the
vocals by guarachero Víctor Kiko Fuentes and Benny del Solar, the star of
countless Peruvian tropical music recordings. The album also prompted Luciano
Luciani's interest in the innovative recordings coming out of Spanish Harlem
in New York that would be manifested in his later recordings for MAG in 1975.
Reissued now for the first time, over 50 years after its original release, in
180g vinyl and including an insert with notes. RDS exclusive release |

This was the debut of singer Dave
Tice, who joined the original line-up of Zennon De Fleur (rhythm guitar and
haulage), Johnny Guitar (guitar), Steve Lewins (bass) and Paul Balbi on
drums. As tight a unit as you could wish for, they produced a driving, raucous
rhythm and blues. The LP is a mix of originals, blues tunes and classic 60s
covers, all played with plenty of meat on the bone. Julian Holland is
credited as piano on 'Down The Road Apiece', and I wonder whatever happened
to him. Vic Maile, one of the country's finest engineers, pushed faders and
worked magic on the audio. Two originals, 'Baby You're Wrong' - 'Stay Free'
became the single off the album and the band hit the road with Motörhead. If
