This
release will have you dancing and crying at the same time. On his debut
album, Paris-based producer and founder of the "raw poetry"
aesthetic Loyce Demellier - AKA DJ Physical - takes us on a fast-paced
journey through techno, electro, breaks and more. Whilst the music's
indisputable home is the club, Physical teases out moments of playfulness and
sentimentality amongst hard-hitting electronics. "Silver Lake" LP
resides on the colder, more industrial side of Demellier's sonic spectrum,
following on from his latest release on London imprint 10 PILLS MATE which
saw him depart from the more lofi quality of his previous releases in favour
of a raw, club-focused sound. On the A-side, Demellier situates the release
within the context of old warehouse raves, with euphoric acid melodies and a
140BPM propulsion ("Uranium"): and high-pitched synth stabs that
ascend from darkness ("Gold Mines"). The B-side maintains the pace,
but this time it's about electro and breaks. On "Overshoot",
reverberating cymbals add another layer of depth to Amen break interludes
whilst "Lawbreaker" harnesses a cheekier tone, offering respite
from the previous tracks' venom. This air of playfulness sticks around on "Lunatic
State" helped by MPC drum claps and a ludic electro melody, before
fellow Parisian Ika Sile steps up for "Early Sprinter" and
"Bootybounce": the former offering a slicker take on acid techno
and the latter: rave music at its absolute with piano stabs and sleazy vocal

For
Alan Oldham, artistic expression is a way of life, taking multiple forms and
medi-ums throughout his lifetime. Before he was ever known as DJ T-1000, he
was a published car-toon artist and radio DJ in Detroit writing press
releases for Underground Resistance to get by. One day, Underground
Resistance was in need of a last minute DJ for their tour in Aus-tralia, and
a door flew open for Alan Oldham. With passport in hand he departed on his
jour-ney as a DJ, which little did he know would eventually span continents.
Influenced by every-thing around him, his work has dynamically changed and
evolved along with his life. Currently as an international DJ living in
Berlin, his latest creation is the ACIDSPACE EP, released by Elypsia Records
under the DetroitRocketScience name. The traveler himself takes us on an
intergalactic adventure, beginning with ACIDSPACE (8:48). With a steady beat
and a unique blend of serene space sounds, this jam excites the imagination
for the journey to come. It is followed by ROCKET TO BERLIN (7:20), a subtle
and intricate mix that entices one to enter the unknown. VESTA SYSTEM (6:22)
finishes the EP off on a note that leaves lis-teners grooving and enjoying
the ride. Creativity and sweet sounds are what it's all about for Alan
Oldham. With his recent musical shift to mellower, sci-fi inspired jams, he

latest release I KNOW from Elypsia Records is a quintet of Detroit inspired
remixes of the song 'I Know'. Inspired by Kevin Saunderson, his original
TECHNO MIX (7:06) is a hardcore and high energy track with intensity to match
the wildest of crowds. The EP also contains 3 remixes of the track, each
exposing and accentuating the brilliant aspects of his complex tune. It
begins with the LUCIEN FOORT REMIX (6:41), a lively big room hit with a punch
fit for an epic Saturday night. UK MIX (6:46) follows with subtle electric
melo-dies and rhythmic drum and bass patterns that give listeners the feel of
wonder and excitement under a clear starry sky. With a clean and gravitating
groove BIT FLOAT REMIX (7:42) would fit perfectly in any Ibiza party with
flair and style. This release is a masterpiece of its own and nothing less
than the product of a man who was born with beats and melodies ingrained in
his soul. For Orlando Voorn, making music is more than a way of life, it's a
necessity. From the early age of 9 his natural intuitions became apparent
when his drum teacher told his parents he could play everything that was
shown to him, even though he had no ability to read a score. He began to DJ
at the age of 12, and 3 years later won the World Mixing Championships of
1983 at just 15 years old. Steve Clisby, from the popular American band
'American Gypsies', recognized Voorn's ability and taught him chord
structures, which gave him the tools to begin composing tracks using keys and
bass. His artistry then took off, making a name for him-self with his vibrant
dance tracks under the alias 'Frequency". Today, he's known as one of
the Netherland's most inventive and ingenious producers in the world of

number of monikers including 'Fix', 'Format', 'Urban Nature' and 'X-it', his

portal weapon with a capacity of several megatons made a neutron spit not
somewhere, but near an abandoned abbey on the Easter Island. Since the
beginning of time, the matter mill has been merciless to mistakes, so the
unfortunate miscalculation became fatal, and the teleport opened prematurely.
The theft of analog relics, to which Spacelunch clung with a death grip,
could have been considered successful, if not for one nuance — a Sacred
Scarab of gigantic size. The guardian of the ancestral dimension managed to
jump into the funnel, eager to behead the daring strangers. His deadly spikes
swept very close, showing primal ruthlessness. It seemed that even the stone
idols were perplexed by what was happening. The loss of spatial orientation
and situational awareness activated survival instincts, which, following the
footsteps of ancient creatures, led to an untouched plateau. Cat, short of

Following
an outing on DJ Mag nominated breakthrough label of the year 10 PILLS MATE in
October, Atlanta-based and NYC-born producer Xiorro readies his Lobster
Theremin debut with four cuts of heavy yet varied techno, heavily influenced
by the sounds you might hear at ALKHEMY - a collective co-founded by the
artist, whose genesis is dedicated to spreading diversity within techno and
making space for marginalised, people of colour and women to play - their The
Black Hole parties helping to re-shape the NYC soundscape. 'A Quien No Le
Gusta Duro?' - 'Who Doesn't Like It Hard?' - attempts to answer its own
question across six minutes of ravey hardcore and industrial techno before
diverting to a more soulful vibe on 'Get Down To This'; it's choppy vocal samples
and groove giving off the energy of an NYC ballroom. 'Shock To The System' is
trance-techno without the cheese; ethereal malfunctions and transcendental

Reunion'
is the third album from nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets.
Released this summer on Eskimo Recordings 'Reunion' is a stunning follow up
to the German producer's first two critically acclaimed albums and features
14 stunning tracks of sun kissed disco, Balearic house, leftfield pop and
guest vocals from the likes of Australian star Panama, Belgian singer Ivy
Falls, US based vocalist Metaxas and up and coming British singer Tailor.
With Bernhardt's 2nd album, 'Solar Nights', one of the most successful
nu-disco records of recent times the following years should have made the
Satin Jackets name a regular fixture on club and festival bills worldwide.
Sadly, much like the rest of us, the pandemic saw the producer's horizons
limited to the four walls of his new Munich studio. Still with the world out
of reach Bernhardt turned to the internet to keep in touch with his fans and
sow the seeds for what would become 'Reunion'. "Throughout 2020 we
recorded a number of what we called Lockdown Streams" explains
Bernhardt. With almost no promotion those sessions ended up being streamed
over a million-and-a-half times, but for Bernhardt the real reward was the
response from fans. "We had so many positive comments from people saying
how these streams had helped through difficult times or simply put a much
needed smile on their faces. Despite being unable to connect in person, these
sessions helped me rediscover the power that music can have to create shared
moments." "It allowed me to rediscover the connection between what
I do and what people feel and that fed directly into making 'Reunion',"
elaborates Bernhardt. "There's a lot of despair and division in the
world right now but it is so important we try to stay positive and hold onto
the things that bring us together. There's few things that can do that more
than music, and that was the thought I took with me when I started work on
this album. Not just the idea that music brings people together but going beyond
that, asking why we do the things that we do and feel what we feel."
Thankfully just as Bernhardt was able to connect with his fans online, he was
able to reach out to his friends and accomplices around the world reuniting
with many of the singers and songwriters that had graced both 'Panorama
Pacifico' and 'Solar Nights' and song by song, as files sped back and forth
across the globe a new album, 'Reunion', took shape. Where the first two
Satin Jackets albums saw Bernhardt work to first develop his own sound and
then elevate his productions to another level, 'Reunion' reveals an artist
now completely at ease in the studio, a musician and producer now confident
in both his abilities and artistic vision. From start to finish 'Reunion' is
an album that adds new depths and dimensions to the Satin Jackets sound
whilst sounding utterly unforced |

Detroit's
deep techno master, Deepchord, makes a more than welcome return to Soma after
5 years. With a brand new album dropping, Rod Modell delves deep into his
ethereal sonic world to bring you 'Functional Extraits 1'. The first single
to be taken from the forthcoming album. Built in a way that only Deepchord
can, he transports you to different realms with lush soundscapes and
perfectly processed electro-acoustics giving you an insight to the mind of
the unique artist. Shale glides across a field of electo-static noise, guided
gently by cisps, fleeting percussion and gently warping synths. Lateral
begins awash with waves of sound and glistening dub stabs while rolling beats
acts as the heart beat of the track with a building intensity adding a sense of
urgency. The uplifting yet dystopian sounds of Mapping spiral into existence
urging you down the rabbit hole as more classic techno percussion manoeuvres
this track on it's journey. Modell seeking out his roots as yet more
traditional dub techno prevails via the final track, Ricochet. Pumping kicks

Clouds - About the Record The Stoney Clouds Ep is unfolding a wide span of
warm and soulful electronic dance music, again beautifully boxed by our
in-house visual-arts-mastermind Marek Slipek! Go Bananas Original The opener
of this wonderful EP immediately sets the record straight, with smooth as
silk drum-patterns rolling around an obscure vocal sample over dirty
state-of-the-art-jazzloops. With these ingredients, mastermind Chocky unfolds
his unique world of shuffle-laden hyperspace-house, fizzling and wonking
every floor to great extent! Go Bananas Scherbe Remix Dresden-resident and
long-time bigbait collaborator Scherbe takes control of the remix. In his
highly significant Slowhouse-style, he turns the original into a lightfoot
dancefloor bomb with trademark MPC-grooves slowly pioneering the way for this
huge and wet clap, that's bursting every club speaker into pieces. After the
break a sparkling synth arpeggio comes in, abducting the dancer into unknown
yet addictive discoid heights. Stoney Clouds Original Straight forward from
the beginning, the title track of this EP opens dj-friendly with huge kicks
and jazzy hihat patterns. In an unbelievably smooth stop-and-go manner, a
deep bassline pairs itself with an almost sucked-out clap compressing
everything into an amalgam of UK-history-laden deephouse funk for every
smoked out latenight workout. Stoney Clouds de:pot Remix Last but not least
we have de:pot, the crazy beat-wizard from Gera. His remix doesn't even
bother to stay close to the original. Instead, inscrutable, de- quantized
patterns wipe over deconstructed sample melodies twisted with his highly
educated trademark sound to a completely new definition of German dopehouse
science. This one is for the sophisticated headphone connoisseur who likes
his b2 sides slow and dirrrty! |

promo restock! Catch 'n' Release - About the Record With 'Catch 'n' Release',
the first solo vinyl from the Big Bait labelhead since his 'Peter Clamat EP'
back in 2011, the shuffle-don delivers a highly elaborated house music EP -
extremely warm, soulful, sparkling with energy and fully loaded with
refreshing grooves. Bethinking himself of his roots, Peter this time
handsomely digged into the history of Disco Music (his first contact with
Disco was at the age of 5 - in the early 1980s - after discovering the record
collection of his parents, what probably laid the cornerstone for his future
musical career). However, none of the tracks on 'Catch 'n' Release' seem to
be just disco edits in the classical sense. Far from it! Pete picks the
cherrys from the past, amalgamating it with his very distinctive contemporary
style to create four unmistakeable Peter-Clamat-style slowhouse compositions.
Future Cannibals The EP kicks off with the bubbly disco house smasher 'Future
Cannibals', inviting the listener immediately to the dancefloor - and when
the moog synth solo starts after a few minutes, you're gonna be blown away by
the airiness of this ass-shaking monster. Disqualified 'Disqualified' is a
reminiscence to hip-hop antihero 'Sensational' and somehow Pete's
examplification of musical simplicity. In spite of its perfection, the track
doesn't need any more than 6 tracks on the multi-track tape to develop a
Theo- Parrish-like flow and create an outstanding stripped-to-the-bone
slowhouse smasher. Unhooked Strokes Certainly the most energetic and housey
track on the EP, 'Unhooked Strokes' pushes the dancer to the peak. Most
certainly from the moment the wobbly Juno- chords burst in, you gonna feel
the urgent need to jump. Adumblated airy pads in the second part of the tune
polish the composition and lead to an audible orgasm you won ´t get enough
from. Clubs And Feedings The B2 side, 'Clubs and Feedings', is a very moody
composition on pretty low bpm, funkin' alongside the incredibly groovy rhodes
chords for highest afterhour pleasures. With this unmistakeable reference to
70's disco-funk Peter brings his 'Catch 'n' Release'-EP to the 'Grande
Finale' |

Monikca's
new sound is excitingly fresh, clubby, emotional and allocated somewhere in
the unknown, deep space between Wonky House and Deep House. This 12' is a
proper tool for the moody and laid back 2017 summer-dancefloor. Monikca lives
in the beautiful Bavarian town Regensburg, loves Pancakes and isn't that much
into clubbing. With her debut ep Münchner Jazz Bar back in 2015, she already
set a glittering landmark. Now she's back with a surprisingly fresh 12' vinyl
named Floating Herbert. The synthesizer (she calls him Herbert) supplanted
the uplifting jazz samples from Münchner Jazz Bar. A slightly more mature
mood took place of the lighthearted, uplifting sound we know from her. This
maxi is a soulful masterpiece for the joyful, in-between mood of an early
summer outdoor sunset party. With this edition we continue our special
limited edition series of 555 individually colored vinyls. Each record is a
random-colored, totally unique piece. The colors range from black to white,

based DJ, producer and live act End Train makes his label debut on Mørbeck’s
Code Is Law imprint this June as he reveals four twisted techno cuts to make
up his ‘Body Business’ EP. With releases to date on the likes of Planet
Rhythm, Khemia, LDNwht and his own labels Metempsychosis Records and Ways to
Die Records, UK artist Joseph Bianchi aka End Train’s own interpretation of
dark and warping techno has seen him become a rising name of note across
recent years. Following a string of recent appearances across his home city
of London, here we see Bianchi head to Mørbeck’s Berlin based imprint Code Is
Law, following the likes of Under Black Helmet and Sawf to delvier his latest
EP ‘Body Business’. Opening proceedings, the tripped out ‘The Day I Didn’t
Want To Wake Up’ sets the tone as dark, brooding atmospherics evolve amongst
menacing low end tones and Tonia Nee’s haunting vocals, whilst ‘Be The Rave’
quickly introduces further tripped out vocal murmurs and effervescent analog
synth patterns. Next up, the gritty ‘Infinite Universes’ wanders forth as raw
lead melodies and crunchy metallic drums clash and combine throughout, before
combining with fellow Metempsychosis and Ways to Die Records co-founder
Flaminia to reveal the driving ‘Zuppa’, fusing rich lead synths and cavernous
kicks to close out proceedings |

from strength to strength. Roberto has consistently delivered at DJ bookings
that have seen him return time and again to the likes of Tresor and fabric,
while the label has fast become a favourite in DJ boxes and amongst Techno
heads. The label closed 2016 on a high with its first set of remixes from two
Techno legends, Sterac and Rolando. And now for the first release of 2017
Roberto is thrilled to draft in the refined skills of Fachwerk's Roman
Lindau. Roberto has of course released on Fachwerk in the past and been
featured on the bill on more than one occasion when the Berlin label have
taken over Berghain, so Roman is a fitting and very welcome addition to his
UK imprint. Teaming up for 'Nerinea Trinodosa' on the A-side, Roman and
Roberto's production styles complement one another perfectly on this solid
peak-time offering, bringing a depth and power that continues the Fossil
Archive dedication to raw and unfaltering beats. Roberto then goes it alone
for 'Triage' on the B-side, a track which was already featured on Alan
Fitzpatrick's recent fabric mix CD. With its tough tribal sound and deep
bass, there's some serious funk in the groove, completing another essential
release from the Fossil Archive camp |

Born out of distaste for the
current trend of excessively hard and fast techno, this collaboration between
Berlin based Roman Lindau and Fossil Archive boss Roberto from London, seeks
to bring the groove and soul back into Techno. After back to back sets at the
likes of fabric in London, Tresor in Berlin and Culture Box in Copenhagen,
the connection between these two artists was firmly cemented. This lead to
their first studio collaboration ‘Nerinea Trinodosa’ which appeared on Fossil
Archive 006 in 2017. The studio process felt very natural, with each artist
assuming different roles. Their latest effort ‘Path to Enchantment’ comes
with 4 new fresh tracks designed to tell a story by both of these exciting

Word Records is pleased to welcome back Souleance with a brand new single for
Summer 2022! 'GUILI GUILI' is a double AA side 7" single, with an
additional remix by Art Of Tones on the digital version. French slang for
"tickle", 'GUILI' is an epic disco-funk piece inspired by the likes
of Azymuth, Herbie Hancock and Marcos Valle, but incorporated with
Souleance's trademark sounds of fuzzy bass-heavy electronica, synths and
samples, giving the track a fresh contemporary twist. Meanwhile, the (digital
only) Art Of Tones mix ramps up the disco elements heavily, incorporating
some vocals, strings and horn stabs to create some sure fire heat for the
summertime. The flipside 'TORO' is a much more tweaked-out, synth-heavy bomb,
influenced by artists such as Prince, Parliament and French electronic club
music. All tracks mark the evolution of the duo into a full live band, whilst
remaining true to their sonic mission of producing music crafted especially
for the dancefloor. The band have been performing live at various festivals
and venues across Europe, with upcoming appearances scheduled at the Pura
Vida Festival, Greece in August and Jazz à Vienne in July. This two-track

Records, a sub-label of Favorite Recordings, proudly presents the long
awaited reissue of Version Excursions, first album by The Dynamics.
Originally released in 2007 and highly hard to find today, it could be
considered as a modern reggae classic. The band composed of Bruno “Patchwork”
Hovart (production & programming), Eric “Flab” True (programming) and a
vocal trio made of Mr Day, Sandra “Mounam” and Stevie Levi, quickly became
famous with a 7inch single series, displaying their unique recipe of covers
from classic hits by Madonna, Curtis Mayfield or The White Stripes to name
just a few. True to Rocksteady and Reggae’s timeless tradition, everything
from Pop, Roots, Disco, Soul & Rock is distilled through their fuzzy
hypnotic filters to create amazing cover versions. Originally hailing from
the villages of Cameroon, the halls of Harvard, the palaces of Versailles,
the boweries of Bristol, or the squares of Provence, it’s then in Lyon that
The Dynamics united and created their timeless music, both vintage and fresh.
15 years after its release, the album’s still a real success, with more than
350k listeners on Spotify every month. An achievement easily explained by the
quality of the tracks gathered, which also brought the original release to
become quite rare years after years, now selling for crazy prices on the
second-hand market. "Whole Lotta Love" (Led Zeppelin),
"Fever" (Peggy Lee), "The Creator Has A Master Plan"
(Pharoah Sanders), "Lay Lady Lay" (Bob Dylan), these are only a few

Following a live debut at
Berghain and standout shows at De School and Institut fuer Zukunft, Daniel
Martin-McCormick returns as Relaxer with the fourth installment in the
project's eponymous EP series. Jamie Lee' takes over the a-side, harrowing
screams are framed by strobing chords and a deadly groove. Simultaneously
euphoric, agonizing and cathartic, Jamie Lee' was written as the climax of
Relaxer's live set and is a prime example of the artist's uniquely feral
techno. Drawing equally on punk confrontations and more haunting emotional
explorations, Jamie Lee' is a lacerating and visceral descent. On the b-side,
Unwind' oozes from the speakers, a miasmic cut that builds on the white
knuckle tension of Jamie Lee.' A lone synth figure worms its way through
pulsating 3D drones, shimmering dissonances and hiccuping drums, rocking out

reggae duo Mafia & Fluxy - two brothers who’ve often been compared to Sly
& Robbie, and have played on countless Jamaican and European hits over
the years. Such high praise for this ace rhythm section is well deserved, as
anyone listening to this album can tell you. Each of these essential tracks
has been chosen with DJs in mind, and are guaranteed to excite roots crowds,
who’ll thrill to hear top drawer artists revisit some of their classic hits
over powerful rhythms that follow the original blueprint, yet sound fresh and
new. Mafia & Fluxy’s musical gifts stem from the love and respect they
have for reggae music’s proud heritage, and that’s why the legends assembled

with them and Gregory Isaacs, the Cool Ruler, in particular. Johnny

Rudolf
Abramov is taking a step in a different direction from his last release on
Höga Nord Rekords. This 7” contains the works of deep mining in an old hard
drive during the introversion of the pandemic quarantine. These two gems have
been going under a bit of tasteful polishing before reaching the point of
release and the result is a punk meets Stoner rock experience propelled by
hard sequencers and drum machines. This record is as English/Irish as you
find em: straight forward instrumentation and lyrical performance presented
with a dirty and rough production. The beats are stripped with an edgy punch
and the synthesisers are overdriven, giving them guitar like qualities. The
Paracetamol/Clonex 7” is a release of covid demons, and the sound of spitting
out the bitter taste of isolation, or to use his own words: “On this 7"
you will find absurd and desperate lyrics accompanied by heavy English and
Irish accents, driven robotic drum machines, dirty synths, crunching bass,
and as unpolished as your dad's old Angle grinder. All that served alongside
your favourite cheese and onion crisps” |

Motorik, Techno, Lo-fi, Primal
and monotonous are words to describe Black Bones unique take on afro and post
punk. This 7” is their first on Höga Nord Rekords and contains two tracks
showing depth in musical creativity and record collections. Black Bones use
familiar components in surprising ways: electronics and loops swirl over
sequenced pounding backbeats, but when the aggressive stereo bass kicks in on
“Nairobi Night Train”, Kenya’s border stretches all the way up to the British
Isles and a huge savannah opens its horizons just south of Belfast. This is
an unusual mix of European and African music tradition - a meeting of genres
so seamless it’s hard labelling it crossover. It’s just an explosive potion

Berlin-based, Italian-born artist Alignment, whose real name is Francesco
Pierfelice, has emerged as a real force in the techno world in recent years.
He has had an outstanding array of vital productions, and his sound helps
carry forward the diversity and musical identity KNTXT stands for. His sound
has smartly evolved since as he continues to pick up new influences. All that

Dorival Caymmi was a Brazilian
singer, songwriter, actor, and painter active for more than 70 years
beginning in 1933. He contributed to the birth of Brazil's bossa nova
movement, and several of his samba pieces, such as 'Samba da Minha Terra',
'Doralice' and 'Saudade da Bahia', have become staples of música popular
brasileira. Equally notable are his ballads celebrating the fishermen and
women of Bahia, including 'Promessa de Pescador', 'O Que É Que a Baiana
Tem?', and 'Milagre'. Caymmi composed about 100 songs in his lifetime, and
many of his works are now considered to be Brazilian classics. Both Brazilian
and non/Brazilian musicians have covered his songs. Ben Ratliff of The New
York Times wrote that Caymmi was 'perhaps second only to Antônio Carlos Jobim
in -establishing a songbook of the 20th century- Brazilian identity. This
anthology is truly a majestic entry into his own influential lifetime |

album by the punk band The Exploited, released in 1983 through Pax Records.
The title refers to Margaret Thatcher's decision to go to war over the
Falkland Islands in 1982, suggesting that she did so almost on a whim. Let's
Start a War reached the Indie Chart Top 10 when first issued in 1983, this
album also includes the single 'Rival Leaders' which hit No. 11 in the Indie
Chart. A classic of the 'UK82' hardcore punk sound that provides a blueprint
for the decade of punk and metal to come, and all in the space of just over
half an hour |

'Nappy' Brown recorded a total of 28 singles at Savoy, clearly marking the
transition from rhythm & blues to rock'n'roll, and also his subsequent

For
fans of Grouper, Julia Holter, Cat Power. Sunfear, the project of
Istanbul-based multidisciplinary artist Eylül Deniz, debuts on Dark Entries
with Octopus. Since 2017, Deniz has been working as a composer, performer,
and DJ, with a focus on different facets of ambient, jazz, and experimental
music. Deniz is deeply steeped in both music theory and history. She explores
electroacoustic techniques, utilizing piano, guitar, voice, and synthesizer.
These are her tools for self-expression, the means to tell her story to the
world. Octopus is a rumination on loneliness, memory, and Deniz’s childhood
fondness for aquatic creatures. The ten songs on the album are static and
turbulent, mournful and optimistic, grounded and otherworldly. A field
recording of a gently flowing stream undergirds instrumental album opener
“Dokun”. The stream begins by soothing us, but as tension builds throughout
the song, its presence becomes unstable, uncanny. On “I Don’t Know Why I’m
Crying”, a repeating motif serves as the canvas for Deniz’s majestic,
reverberant voice. While the source of sorrow remains unknowable, her
catharsis is pure and real. The penultimate track, “Octopus”, breaks into an
unexpected trip hop-esque beat, which only enriches the album’s introspective
terroir. With Octopus, Deniz gently guides the listener to places unknown.
All songs on Octopus were mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The
sleeve, designed by Eloise Leigh, features a manipulated photograph taken by
Deniz, which contrasts textures and colors in a non-representational fashion.

Bread And Butter Recordings is back to serving the goods, this time with a
tasty number by the always-in-shape Silat Beksi. The entitled "Special
Edition" EP is the first-ever solo EP on the label, and follows four
successful VA compilations that have hosted Sublee,DoubtingThomas,Costin Rp,
Herck, Miroloja, Macarie, and Direkt to name a few. Opening the games,
"Just Play It!" hits hard and clean with its crispy percussions,
gnarly sounds, and hefty short pads that really give a floating touch. As
soon as the track goes, some bongos and extra hi-hats appear, all together
into a delightful ever-evolving groove. A2 "Hero Suit" features
fluffy chords that get reverberated throughout the track, flying over a sexy
and engaging bassline and tight drum patterns. Fairytale synths and
overprocessed vocals join the symphony, making this one a lovely dancefloor
roller. Closing the BR005, "Jungle Meditation" sticks to its name,
with the Ukrainian artist relying on his signature groovy signature sound,
which this time focuses on more hypnotic moods that interlock sharply in an
unpredictable or volatile manner. Proper B-side, late-night affairs. The next
two courses - BR006 & BR007 - are on the way and they will not stop

It was in 2011 when Carlo
launched his Midnight Social Recordings with artists such as Dudley

digital releases later, it was the right time to unleash some vinyl only

With
music promotion being what it is across the board it is refreshing to see
labels keeping the focus on the music rather than wild artwork and overplayed
promotional campaigns. Wsntme that has popped up from the underground with an
aim to keep the spotlight on the music and not so much who produces it and
thus removing any sort of bias form the listeners ear. For the first EP there
are two heavy hitters to choose from. B1 jam ‘Rghtdoe’, a crunchy groover
with tight shuffling drums and deeply penetrating bassline. Filtered vocals
from a certain Rapper roll over one and other adding serious attitude until
the mood is lightened considerably with the emergence of the looping string
section first made an appearance in the 70’s and has played a part in electronic
music since. It doesn’t hang about for long and as quickly as it emerged it
is gone leaving the pristine beats behind. Flipping back over to side A and
‘Mryjn’ is a much more moody, muscular workout. Elongated bass tones and
synths are drawn out alongside the pitched down musings of an unknown artist
that certainly was not suffering from writer’s block. The inviting paddy
synths envelope the lower end of the track frequencies like a warm blanket
while the filtered noisey drums kick in all the right directions |

DJ and producer, Coco Bryce, makes his Lobster Theremin debut with an

LT White is the perfect home for this extremely vibesy, playful EP. Title
track, 'Ma Bae Be Love' sees saccharine sweet vocals, bouncy broken beats and
jungle energy come together - an uplifting cut you'll want to keep on loop.
A2, 'Blue Tile Lounge' marries intricate drum patterns full of sunkissed
grooves, with warm pads and uplifting vox lines. On the flip, 'Smoke Screen'
reaches further into hardcore terrority with acid lines bubbling up, frantic
percussion and whirlpool electronics swirling throughout, with timeless rave
references - watch ya bass bins! Finally, 'Get Schwifty' is a total crusher.

& Obscure Shape welcome Alarico back to Mutual Rytm as the Italian
delivers a medley of diverse techno cuts across his latest EP, 'Boya'.
Arriving fresh from an impressive twelve months with releases via the likes
of Token Records alongside his notable self-production only mixes, Italian DJ
and producer Alarico continues to grow as a talent on the rise within techno.
Combining nuances from across the genre to shape his own fast-paced and raw
yet soulful sound, the Milan based talent hasn't slowed down since launching
the alias in 2019. Having featured on the label's VA 'Federation Of Rythm I'
earlier this year, he now returns to SHDW and Obscure Shape's blossoming
Mutual Rytm imprint for his first EP on the label - delivering eight cuts
across both digital and vinyl for 'Boya'. Kicking things off with the rugged
and loopy 'AE86', Alarico quickly gets to work fusing driving grooves with
slick vocal interjections, while title cut 'Boya' veers into slightly more
raw and metallic territories guided by snappy claps and resounding kicks.
'Killa Cut' brings the funk on the B-side as soulful vocals ebb and glow
amongst the mix, with 'Lost In Time' offering up pulsing bass beneath
ethereal vocals, sweeping melodies and lively hats. The vinyl package is
wrapped up by 'The Ballad of Lisa', with the infectious bleeping topline
leading off-kilter clangs, slightly offsetting the track's tight core groove.
With three bonus tracks on the digital package, the Italian continues to
bring the heat with 'God Bless Hip Hop' providing yet more punchy, skipping
rhythms accented by rich chords. 'Cigarettes After Sex' carries a more manic
and chaotic arrangement yet still manages to hold the track together amongst
murky flutters, before closing the show via 'The Rush Hour' to deliver
warping, arpeggiated basslines and a constant battle of tension and release |

Detroit legend Rick Wade returns
with his fourth Shall Not Fade release: a four track EP packed with different
flavours from timeless deep house to drum 'n bass. On Late Right EP, Wade
delivers the classic Detroit-sounding deep house with which his name is
synonymous, at times experimenting with stylistic elements borrowed from
tribal house, acid and ghettotech. The title track is a punchy deep house
track with a funk-infused bassline and jazzy ambience which carries through
to the next two tracks where it's accompanied by the rattle of conga drums
("Kabukicho") and a gentle acid melody ("Acid Creep").
Finally, "Quantum Jit" brings things to a giddy close: a
stripped-back club tune with skitterish claps and the syncopated breakbeat of

Bristol native Daffy returns to
Shall Not Fade with his second solo EP, focusing on the darker aspects of 4x4
garage. The title track typifies Daffy's unique and forward-thinking take on
UKG. The dynamic chant of a dancehall MC is ramped up to invigorate a UKG
stomper, the product: a rude, flavoursome track which evokes Spooky and Riko
Dan's "High Power". Serious. The aptly-named "Darker
Days" is more reminiscent of El-B with cool-toned low end growls before
"Take It Easy" and "Warped" bring things to an energetic
close with a stomping 4x4 rhythm and warped bassline which nod to old school
