repress - Next up for Time Is Now's white label series is Prozak - a
Dublin-based producer who has garnered a growing following over the past
year. Prozak, aka Zac Curtis, follows up an EP of remixes for Kiwi Rekords
with Make Me Feel. The EP is 100% club gear dabbling in classic rave sounds
and jungle before masterfully returning to his garage roots. The title track
"Make Me Feel" is equal parts euphoric rave vocalisations and
growling bassy ruffage, with stuttering stop-and-start breaks thrown in for
good measure that tear through the track - an instant classic that knocks you
breathless. "Missing You" builds from a gentle ebb into wobbling
bass-heavy garage, Curtis chopping and changing the vocal samples into
unrecognisable snatches with expert production. He then dishes up a glitching
speed garage tool with "Negative", still seasoned with a ravey edge
that makes the record as a whole feel festival ready. On the B-side,
"Sunshine" is sweet buoyant UKG constructed from neatly cut up
vocals that clamour against each other and a skipping irresistible rhythm.
Equally upbeat, "Falling" stands out as the most playful track,
with mass appeal and large drops that shakes off some of the dark bassiness of
the A-side. The record closes with "Leave You", contrasting
frenetic junglist breaks with blissed out vocals. It's a dynamic offering
from the up-and-comer that shows signs of great things to come |

thrilled to welcome two new artists to the SNF family. Two of the most
ubiquitous names in today's UK jungle circuit, it was only a matter of time
before the raucous jungle of Tim Reaper and Dwarde found a home in Shall Not
Fade's catalogue. On End Of The Universe EP, the two join forces to flex
their creative muscles, together worth more than the sum of their parts.
Whilst the title track is easily imagined in a Sherelle set given its strong
pulse and hardcore proclivities, the following two are equally suited to home
listening as they are, raving. 'Midnight Sun' takes the focus away from the
lower ends and puts it on melody and percussive texture, whilst
'Stretchpants' maintains the focus on building atmosphere with sounds
reminiscent of Dat Oven's 'Icy Lake'. Finally, DJ Sofa steps up for the remix
duties on the last track. This one is pure DnB, strap in. End Of The Universe

Oxygeno writes a new chapter with
Vertigo, moving into a more angry mood. The EP kicks off with Thirty Against
One, with a heart-wrenching bassline, distorted drums and a tense atmosphere.
Norbak pays tribute to the original, carefully using the stems and getting a
powerful and direct remix. Side A continues with Vertigo, a suffocating and
anxious track, rising and becoming more and more tense as the track
progresses. On side B we find False Mirages, a hypnotic, distorted and direct
track for the dancefloor. Positive Centre, with a sound design mastery,
remodelled the track into heavy industrial vibes. Finally, we also deliver a

Saft's
X series signs up accomplished French house artist Pablo Valentino for a new
EP that features Patchworks and includes a remix from Seb Wildblood.
Valentino hails from East France but his work has made a global impact. He
runs FACES Records and is A&R for the cult MCDE Recordings. Next to that
he DJs around Europe and has produced both solo and as part of collectives
such as Creative Swing Alliance and Hipster Wonkaz for labels like MCDE,
Eureka and Room With A View. Atmospheric opener "Look Deeper" is a
rough and steamy deep house cut for cosy basements. The drums are raw and
alive, the lead synth is haunting, and the keys bring a jazz feel while vocal
coos add some serious soul. French jazz, soul and deep house artist
Patchworks guests on "X Rousse", a freewheeling jam with
loose-limbed drums and funky chords. It channels the spirit of Moodymann and
is sure to bring heat to any party. The final original is "Bagaco";
a bubbly and percussive number underpinned by warm bass stabs. The dynamic
groove never rests and raw claps amp up the energy throughout. Seb Wildblood
is a driving force in the South London scene thanks to running Church, All My
Thoughts and Coastal Haze. From house to downtempo, leftfield to techno, he
has a broad stylistic range that always looks forwards. His remix is a
celebratory broken beat workout. It's all about big stabs, soulful smeared

The
primer of techno was barely dry or England already had its own variant of the
genre: UK techno. Original Man by British producer Dave Angel is perhaps the
perfect example of what that variant sounded like, back then. If only you
knew where to find it. The single was released in 1993 on a record label that
has long since ceased to exist. Fortunately, Utrecht-based record label
SoHaSo made this transverse techno-soul classic available again, in a punchy
remaster. With its juxtaposed rhythm programming and orchestral arrangements,
Original Man still lives up to its title, even if it is 30 years later. On
the flip you'll find Quarter Pounder. With its nervous hi-hats and high paced
rhythms, this seems like the perfect soundtrack for a highway chase between
two roadhouses. As a bonus, SoHaSo has supplemented the vinyl version of this
EP with a rare Dave Angel track which also was released back in 1993 on
French dance label FNAC. It's called 4th Symphony and ticks all the right
techno boxes: strings, hihats and a melancholic melody. If you wanna learn

music-as-sauce philosophy, Brussels-based groove formation M.CHUZI invites
you to dip your ear into the sonic sauces that are on offer in its versatile
menu. Released 4th November via Sdban Ultra, the collective's debut album
'Papara' is an inviting mouthful of afro rhythms, funk, and prog jazz,
combined with the spacey soundscapes of the Brussels metropole, as they look
to Fela Kuti's afrobeat style for inspiration. Winner of the prestigious
Sound Track[IB1] contest held at Ancienne Belgique back in December 2019, the
octet has gone from strength to strength, including having album track 'Tzatzìki'
feature on the critically acclaimed various artist's compilation 'Lefto
presents Jazz Cats volume 2', released earlier this summer. The track was
arguably the highlight of the album and received radio support from leading
radio DJs including Gilles Peterson of BBC Radio 6 Music and Worldwide FM
fame. It's the tasty 'Tzatzìki' that launches 'Papara', an exotica-spawned,
merry bombardment of fizzing percussion and a subsequent brass freakout. Next
up is the heavy acid rock of 'Mammoet' featuring rising trombonist Nabou,
which soon breaks out into a groove-laden mix of Egyptian-inspired horns and
Fela-style rhythms, before poetic warrior Joy Slam, adds her vocals to the
dub-centric rhythms of the sweet 'Carbonade'. Elsewhere, 'Intermetsauce' fuses
skittish horns with funky drums while the spicy 'Tahini Miso' bursts into
life with trance-inducing beats and mystical, Middle-Eastern seasoning. The
album closes with the multi-rhythms of the burning 'Sambal', before we
dive-dip into the funky 'Pickles', featuring Mixmaster Menno's (STUFF.)

up to Original Soundtrack. Both albums were written during the 2020 pandemic
lockdown, which was no doubt a phase of experimentation and pushing
boundaries, as producers found themselves with a lot of time and no dancefloors.
This saw ASC pushing himself creatively and focusing on instrumentation
within his ambient music, and in the case of both Original Soundtrack and
Colours Of Absence, this meant the piano. The piano focus is a little less
obvious in Colours Of Absence though, as this album attempts to strike a
balance between ASC's 'traditional' beloved ambient work, and the
aforementioned Original Soundtrack. 9 tracks spread over two slices of clear

inspirations spanning from Samurai Movies of the 1950's across Hip-Hop from
the 80's, to white-labelled tool-techno records and Anime from the 90's,
Narciss has catapulted themself into the contemporary hard dance spotlight
with a flurry of furious cuts on Lobster Theremin and 10 PILLS MATE, and now
the German producer readies four synth-wavey bops of pop-techno and hardcore
on Eurodance Inc. Staying true to the Eurodance aesthetic, and following one
of the year's most well received dance music records in DJ Heartstring's '4
The People', 'House Of Pleasure' displays Narciss' love for splashes of
colour amongst the usually-grey Berlin soundscape. Taking as much influence
from the golden-era of trance electronics as it is the Tresor heyday, it's
gradual incline from techno to eurodance is completed on 'Power 2 Tha
People'; a cut of deep trance that touches the border of cheese whilst
maintaining a headsy, underground appeal. 'ADHDisco' is a warped sequence of
classic soul nostalgia and high speed futuristic brain-dance that plays out
like an alien discovering Northern Soul for the first time, before the
classic hardcore synth patterns and unrelenting kicks of 'Lovechild (LOVE
MIX)' lay the foundation for a soulfully transcendent cut of classic Chicago
and hard-house blends |

Madison,
Wisconsin producer Sam Link exploded onto the breaks circuit with his debut
EP on Prague-based record label YUKU - exploring classic underground jungle
and juke templates and stretching them into new and distinct formats - and
now the emerging artist readies four varied cuts of stylish, club-ready
breakbeats and bass on Low Battery. With one gun-finger fixated on the past
and the other firmly pointing to the future, Sam implements a unique form of
production within his work. Holding down a full-time job as an artist is
never easy, so Sam now works in 20-30 minute bursts, capturing the creative
spurts and happy accidents, and allowing space between creation to allow
ideas to breathe. Ragga-tipped jungle at break-neck pace kicks things off on
'The Breath'; a cut of vortex-breakbeats that strikes a fine balance between
meditative and energetic, like all great ragga-inspired cuts should. 'Uproar'
lowers the tempo slightly in favour of stretching basslines, underwater-wubs
and murky atmospherics on a growling cut of breaks that transatlantically
shatters over the UK-sound. 'Chance' puts the emphasis on 'less is more'.
Stripped-back percussion, nature-atmospherics and hefty low-end bass
vibrations combine on a minimal jungle cut designed to vibe in the rave,
before Teklife and Cosmic Bridge affiliate A.Fruit rounds out the release
with a stuttering breakbeat-footwork remix of its predecessor |

A good old fashioned amen banger
opens up Quantum State, as Howling Winds takes it back to that classic break
sliced and chopped expertly as you'd expect from ASC, with a solemn, almost
mournful melodic backdrop. A tense, moody vibe awaits you with Nectar,
ominous pad work and Hot Pants breaks craft an uncomfortable, brooding
atmosphere you won't forget. Flashback lives up to its name with classic
jungle break work and effects, taking you right back to the 90's with a
purposeful yet sombre oceanic backdrop. Towards the back end of the track the
mood shifts skyward somewhat as if reaching its goal. Delightful. Minimal
breaks punctuate Hindsight with spaced-out kicks and jittery cymbals, smooth
pads and that classic deep 808 bass wind and weave through a relaxing sonic

On the 2nd January, 1983 Minor
Threat played the '555' Club which comprised of Minor Threat, Faith, and
Marginal Man. This was the first time all three bands played as a 5 piece.
Songs A1 to B17 are from Minor Threats first set and shows what a powerful force
they were. Songs B18 to B21 were recorded at The Lansburgh Centre 29th March, 1983, where
Minor Threat played with The Big Boys. It was pretty obvious the spark had
gone and this was the last show Minor Threat ever played. This show was
notable as it was the only time they played all 3 songs from the Salad Days

Welcome
to BM-18 the biokinetic realm created by Dana Kuehr, a lush audio environment
where organic and synthesized matter coalesce. As we float disembodied above
this verdant pixel plain, Dana offers us shifting repetitions and sequences
in disguise, each track a landscape within a world created in the utmost
detail, from the minute bleeps and chirps to the enveloping and bumping
bouncy basslines. Flickering drums explode like dandelion seeds in a breeze,
searching for a place to lay, grow, and flourish. Sounds are captured
(fingers tapping, rain patter, Belgian parakeets released from a '70s zoo,
vocal oohs and ahhs) and hybridized with patterns, samples, and musical
manoeuvres (jungle breaks, west coast hip hop, layered drums, IDM crunch and
twinkle, reverb, delay, '90s R&B, underwater video game soundscapes). As
in any imaginary sphere, there are characters who exchange and converse:
rivers, coasts, clouds, lakes, echoes of dolphins, and peaceful frogs. Amidst
their complex chatter, the sounds of BM-18 extend an invitation to dance, to
feel our bodies alive and present, to acknowledge the impulse of movement and
the pulsing heartbeats of each track. An ode to the Taoist consideration that
all creatures live together in mystic unity, co-evolving and feeding each
other, Dana brings together cloud ethereal with earth pounding, and like an
orca's tail upon a restless sea, it slaps!!! All tracks written and produced
by Dana Kuehr between April 2020 and November 2021 in Brussels, and mixed by
Dan Piu at Checkpoint Charly Studio in Zurich between November 2021 and March
2022. Mastered and cut by Stefan Betke at Scape in Berlin. Original artworks

Lig has melody running through his veins. On his quest to explore his deep
love for the bitter-sweet yearning of Motor City techno, his tracks transcend
trends. Over his three-decade spanning career he has refined his blend of
soul-infused dance music to striking effect. His gift for a catchy hook is
unmatched. His new studio album "The Mental Bandwidth" shows his
musical range as a producer once again. On the album's twelve tracks, he
effortlessly traverses, cosmic house, funkified techno and electronica,
combining his trademark quirky melodies with playful songwriting and dance
floor focused beats. The album format is giving Lig enough space to explore
his musical ideas from different directions while staying true to the overall
atmosphere. "The idea for the album was to go back to the fundamentals
of the original Detroit sound and to find new ways of expressing that soul in
my music - as I've been doing for years", explains Lig. With Ann
Saunderson and the former Kraftwerk-member Wolfgang Flur, the album features
two heavy-weight collaborations that connect the "The Mental
Bandwidth" to Detroit's musical legacy, too. Slikk Tim aka Garry
Grittness also has a cameo in the form of a funky bassline on "Healing",
the pop-infused Ann Saunderson collaboration. The title of the album is
inspired by Lig's lecture of Sendhil Mullainathan and Eldar Shafir book
"Scarcity: Why Having So Little Means So Much" which explores new
approaches to reduce poverty. "The authors discovered that the mental
bandwidth of poor people is sometimes really low because of short term issues
they are facing and are forced to solve", explains Lig. Those issues are
reducing the mental bandwidth for long term thinking capacities, which in
turn has consequences for the decision making process. An example: before the
quality of education of poor kids is increased, the quality of life they have
must be increased. This increases the capacities of the kids to learn more
than solely better educational programs |

next to scarred over wounds. I turn my head and see that there are a few
drops of blood dried on the white bathroom tile next to caked on red stains
turned brown. I've reached the point where I stopped asking "why"?
In fairness, I stopped asking "what?", too. I stand out of bed into
a relatively organized room. There's no headache, no hangover, no shaking, no
blurred vision. There's no nausea, no instability. One foot smoothly walks in
front of the other. I trace my fingers along the white walls as I cross the
threshold into the bright kitchen. Through the windows I see the city, its
skyscrapers glowing in the cold winter morning sun. Beyond them I can make
out the snowy mountains and the cold black ocean. As I dress in silence, my
mind is empty and clear. My day is not purposeless, I'm not directionless. I
have a calling and it's guiding hand leads me outside. As I step outside I
turn left down the road one foot smoothly in front of the other, I'm not

On
'Upon This Fleeting Dream' Clive Bell's Twinkle3 embraces medieval and
16th-century Japanese poems and haiku about death and saying farewell. Bell
and his trio, consisting of Dave Ross and Richard Scott, expand their sonic
borders: bringing these pithy epigrams to a new Fourth World where
electro-acoustic sounds glitches into a hypnagogic, if not the unconscious
level of fragile beauty. The distinctive voice of David Sylvian (ex-singer of
Japan and known for his highly acclaimed solo work (Brilliant Trees, Secrets
of The Beehive, Blemish...) and collaborations with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Robert
Fripp, Holger Czukay and Jon Hassell amongst others) - who reads the English
version of the poems and created field recordings and the artwork for this
album - blends in the most organic way with the shakuhachi, Thai reed flutes
and mouth organs played by Clive Bell. The narrative voices of David Sylvian
and Kazuko Hohki's (Frank Chickens, Kahondo Style...) velvet timbre are the
cornerstones of this compelling journey while the tangling and abstract
rhythms transcending from Dave Ross' modular synths and Richard Scott's
sampler and analogue electronics, unravel and unfold a mesmerizing universe
with unknown dimensions and frequencies of a fleeting dream. File under:

"Album
no. 5?! Have we really been around that long?" asks Johannes Genard.
"I feel like I'm only just starting to get how it all works." When
their fourth album, 'Things That Don't Go Right' was ignominiously cut short
by the pandemic in March '20, Genard turned around and started writing the
next one. "If you don't keep plodding ahead, then you've already given
up," he says. The group's subsequent plodding quickly evolved into a
collection of 13 songs infused with energy, emotion, playful exuberance and
plenty of signature School is Cool elements. Despite the new album's name -
Brittle Dream - the atmosphere within the group is better than ever.
"After Matthias Dillen, our drummer since the very beginning left the group,
Niels Meukens has seamlessly slipped into the role and is now fully
acclimatized. It's been awe-inspiring to witness his deep musical insight
firsthand, not to mention his willingness to take on a new project in such a
short timeframe," says Johannes. "His contribution to this album
was massive!" School is Cool's fourth - and, as it turned out, aptly
named - album, 'Things That Don't Go Right' hit the airwaves in 2020. After
that, things actually did start to go in the right direction for the group.
And following the release of hit singles like 'Close' and 'On the Halfway
Line', the time is ripe for a new album. Musically, the album breaks new
ground while remaining true to that unique School is Cool sound we all know
and love |

two successful years, NowNow Records' first V/A features Vienna's Aida Arko,
whose A Long Night Into Dunwall kicks things off with her typically
industrial, dark, and percussive groove before melding into Brecc's
appropriately titled Praise the Rave. The Utrecht-based artist, known for his
relentlessly energetic sets, draws from much experience with this one, and it
shows! Next, Paris' enigmatic Blicz lets the music do the talking with
Independance Night before fellow Frenchmen Geerson closes the affair with the
bonafide banger, Domenical Mass. The complete release is not one for the
faint of heart but definitely for those looking for that moment where the

Inside
the shuttle: Narumi, Leo & Mike, respectively from Japan, Sweden and
Jamaican-British. All "united" behind the unique Tristesse
Contemporaine flag and led since the start by French label Record Makers
(Kavinsky, Sebastien Tellier, Cola Boyy…). After three rock & post-punk
infused albums: "Tristesse Contemporaine" (2012), "Stay
Golden" (2013) and "Stop and Start" (2017), they’re off to a
new start and open a new cycle with their new opus "UNITED". Who
other than young prodigy Lewis OfMan, the one-man band behind hits like
"Attitude" and renowned collaborations including Rejjie Snow or
Carly Rae Jepsen, to join the joyous ride? After hearing "Sly
Fox"'s first demo in 2019, they convinced him to produce a whole album
for them and became the fourth member of sorts, adding his pop sensibility,
mixing genres and emotions with funky basslines, strong hooks, and digital
arrangements. A free-spirited album filled with irresistible beat-driven
tunes thanks to Mike's thunderous voice, Narumi's sparkling synths and Leo's
gleaming guitar, conquering new territories from reggae to 90’s breakbeat or
