Following a masterful release
from Dubfound, Ukrainian label Modeight is back again with another superb
12". This time it's UK brotherly duo Clay & Heath Ostrer, also known
as Last Pines who are centre stage. The pair serving up 4 silky smooth, and
seductively deep minimalist house tracks. The A-side kicks off with and title
cut "Solon" as it delves deeper with its bumping, low slung
attitude. A certified bass face initiator featuring a cheeky nod to the
Matrix. Followed by A2's "Drift", a hazy, funk infused roller that
meanders effortlessly below some echoed brass. A flip to the B-side and we
continue with "Nocturnal", a darkly hued, warehouse worthy jam,
featuring raspy, robotic vocal samples and tonal overlays. Finally we finish
with B2's "Go Ahead", a badass banger with a supreme subsonic
undercarriage that takes no prisoners. Always in fine form with their artist
selection, Modeight provides the gold once more |

Clitorium is the newest inbreed
of Zolex and Woktrax! We're not sure if this song is about flowers or
defloration. It's definitely about machines and techno. The track has a
special scratchy sound that rolls over. Pounding and stomping without
stopping. We gave the track to 3 techno producers. They gave us their
interpretation. And so this release became a beast. An all black vinyl, with
black sleeve, black innersleeve and black labels. On the innersleeve, you can
find a download sticker with all 4 tracks included, and 2 extra tracks, all
mastered for digital use in a high end club-inviroment. This will fit any

Belgian based Phara makes a huge
debut on Soma with The Great Attractor EP. With his fast, raw and energetic
sound, Phara's ascent has been quick off the mark and this latest release has
the young producer stretch himself farther with cleverly produced and
exciting tracks. UK Techno don, Setaoc Mass backs up this already masterful
EP, lending his own prowess to the title track. Great Attractor leans on 90s,
spaced out techno vibes as fast paced 909s fire against the backdrop of
rapid, modulating synths. Setaoc Mass' remix comes up next, offering a deeper
more restrained affair. However, as usual, the adept nature of his
productions deal out devastating effect. On the flip, Mission 3,2,1 delves
into dubbed out synth work whilst retaining drive and groove. Further dub
explorations are found on closing track The Andromeda Manoeuvre. Spacial
synth work and atmospherics ebb and flow as Phara's hard hitting and

As &on&on, DJ's Noni and
Worth Way have been making some serious waves over the past year, being named

with their first full length after a very distant demo and 7". Made up
of 13 tracks "Asquerosa Humanidad" doesn't let the foot off the gas
for a second. It is relentless pogo inducing attack that falls somewhere
between FERTIL MISERIA, RIP and early CHAOS UK. With tunes full of
aggression, melody and fuzz in equal measure, laying the foundation for
vocalist Sara to spit her vile. Lyrically the album deals with modern day
frustration, showing little faith in humankind and a massive dis-respect
towards authority like any self respecting person should. While stand firmly
in the punk terrain PORVENIR OSCURO borrows from the rich worldwide sounds of
the underground delivering a fully formed sound and aesthetic which is their

Temporaneo was born very spontaneously as the natural continuation of a
collaboration that has lasted for over a year with Tamburi Neri, Adiel and
Danza Tribale. It is pure magic when seemingly different worlds meet and
create a dialogue which is the foundation of successfully bringing the
creation of this record into fruition. The EP functions as the fusion between
the past and the present of the musical experiences of all of us. Arresto
Temporaneo was born by cutting a text "Prepariamoci ad un arresto
temporaneo" that the artists liked. The sentence is free to interpret as
any of the listeners wish, there is a deliberate reason why the subjective
interpretation is avoided. The EP is filled with the voice and lyrics of A.B.
The track "Silenzio" symbolises a moment with which all of us, in
spite of ourselves, had to deal with, the deafening noise of silence that can
sometimes be devastating and for this reason it is important to understand it
and not be afraid of it when it resonates within us. "Nella
penombra" refers to something that moves inside us, not too deep but
just important enough to understand, with sounds that nature emits at dawn,
when the light still reigns in the dim light, we must learn to move with
skills and lightness without harming ourselves and especially others |

zoeken, onderweg z'n teen stoot aan de essentie, en vervolgens de tocht
fluitend verder zet. Zijn tocht begon op heel jonge leeftijd met onschuldige
liefdesliedjes op gitaar en piano, maar nam plotsklaps een heel andere koers
toen hij enkele Antwerpse rappers op z'n pad tegenkwam en het collectief
opwindende Roedel uit de grond stampte. Als Mitxelena liet hij zich toen al
opmerken met z'n gevoel voor melodie én gevoelige teksten. Anders dan de rest
was hij altijd al, dus het hoeft niet te verbazen dat hij rond 2019 alweer
een nieuwe richting koos, helemaal alleen ditmaal. Eéntje die hem terugbracht
naar de instrumenten en de insteek waarmee het ooit allemaal begon voor hem.
Mitxelena werd Simon en in 2021 leerde het grote publiek deze sympathieke
Antwerpenaar met Baskische roots nog een stuk beter kennen, door een
finaleplaats in De Nieuwe Lichting en enkele goed opgepikte radiosingles,
waarop hiphop en lofi pop hand in hand gingen. Intussen komt dat debuutalbum
er eindelijk aan en het mag duidelijk zijn dat alle voorgaande ervaringen
Simon inspireerden tot een hoogst eigenzinnige en bijzonder mooie plaat.
Vooruitgeschoven singles als 'Geen Spijt' en 'Al Lang Voorbij' deden en doen
het erg goed op verschillende radiozenders en zijn naam komt op steeds meer
radars terecht. In de elf nummers die 'Zoveel Nog Te Doen' telt, horen we een
artiest die tot zijn volle wasdom aan het komen is en meer dan ooit weet
welke richting hij uit wil gaan. Simon komt er ontwapenend eerlijk op, zowel
tekstueel als muzikaal, en laat zo een nieuwe wind draaien door
Nederlandstalige popmuziek. 'Zoveel Nog Te Doen', een uitgave van Fake
Records, verschijnt digitaal op 2 november en zal op 18 november op vinyl in

Hendrik
Lasure leaves the safe harbor and opens up his heart on his new record 'Het
Wiel' (The Wheel). After around ten acclaimed instrumental albums with
different ensembles, he decides to play with language for the first time and
sings in his own colloquial language. "I want it to feel as intimate as
possible, both in the lyrics and in the performance. Suddenly I really heard
my true self - beautiful and ugly at the same time, but very human and honest
nonetheless" Brussels, 2020. The world is silent, the big city is
sleeping. As a way of keeping himself busy, Hendrik dives into his memories
in search of key moments from his early childhood. Moments that make a
difference in a world that has dried up completely on a cultural level: the
lyrics of the album were written in a time when nothing happened. This way
Hendrik found a new challenge in playing with language after ten instrumental
albums with ensembles schntzl, Bombataz, warm bad and An Pierlé Quartet. On
'Het Wiel', the words are central and form the seed from which all music
originated. The musical concept for this album had been haunting Hendrik for
a while: recording songs in Dutch that feel immensely close, which are sung
in Hendrik's colloquial language. His pronunciation is not cleaned up or
magnified and therefore the music feels very honest and intimate. "I
came to this way of singing by recording myself writing the songs. When I
stayed very close to my own way of speaking while singing, it moved me much
more, because I am not used to such direct communication in a song. Suddenly
I really heard myself - beautiful and ugly at the same time, but very human
and real' On 'Het Wiel', too, Hendrik (though a gifted pianist) chooses to
stay away from any form of virtuosity. Fragility is never avoided in his
music, rather it is highlighted. After an academic education and plowing
through countless scores behind the piano, Hendrik learns to play the guitar
and sing, two musical roles in which there are still great risks for him.
'This way I can still slip, I don't always have a lot of backups at hand when
playing the guitar and singing. Let's say there is more tension and
excitement if you stay out of the comfort zone." The entire record was
produced by Koen Gisen, longtime partner-in-crime at schntzl, An Pierlé
Quartet and Thunderblender. Hendrik wrote arrangements for a chamber
orchestra with strings (La Chapelle Sauvage conducted by Karel De Wilde),
double bass (Soet Kempeneer) and woodwinds. The lyrics often refer to
Hendrik's childhood, so he thought it appropriate to include his father Joris
Lasure and mother Els Mussels in the horn section. They play flute and
clarinet respectively for the first time in a long while. On Bethlehem and
Huil Voor Mij, Adia Vanheerentals (soprano sax, Bodem) and Koen Gisen (bass
clarinet, An Pierlé Quartet) also play along. Hendrik sings, plays guitar,
piano and also chest organ (a type of organ often used in the performance of
Baroque music). This way, the play with the Catholic imagery of Huil Voor
Mij, Hotel Dieu and Bethlehem is reinforced. Hendrik Lasure is mainly known
as a keyboard player and golden boy of the lively Belgian jazz scene. In the
past he released albums as a member of ensembles such as schntzl, Bombataz,
An Pierlé Quartet and Thunderblender. In addition, Lasure is also active as a
solo artist, in theater and as a film score composer |

aki is is a Belgian jazz project
by drummer Anke Verslype. Together with various musicians she brings her
compositions to life. At the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp she met Willem
Heylen (guitar), Ruben van Cauwenberghe (harmonica) and Jasper de Roeck (bass),
who contributed to her first EP 'warme dagen'. The album, 'Niobe' came into
existence with the current band consisting of Willem Heylen (guitar), Ruben
de Maesschalck (bass) and Marjolein Vernimmen (harp). For the their newest
album 'nader' the collective worked together with Joachim Badenhorst
(Clarinet). The music explores uncomplicated melodies, of which the borders
are touched and crossed through improvisation. The listener is floats along a

the London-based imprint is far from being dead in a cradle and has a pair of
legitimately attention-commanding names presented on the sleeve of its
sophomore record as a matter of fact: with a career spanning well over a
decade, Osaka's reliable warehouse demolitioner Ryuji Takeuchi needs little
in terms of introduction and really so does A1 remix-assigned Swarm
Intelligence, whose designer creations are known to provoke thought and
action at even degree. Phenomenon Of Combination starts off with
Noctambulism, an anxious-to-get-to-it opener whose 6 kicks a tact work nicely
to perceivably speed up its tempo of 132 and aren't halting for bit as the
distorted acidic sequence, spinning hats and tides of noise gradually show up
to do what reaching crude oil connection would to a wildfire already raging.
As percussion in a revised 136-BPM version is approached differently and with
more emphasis applied, the signatures remain uneven - as is often the case
with Swarm Intel's offbeat and off-the-wall production; that aside, the
roaring digital grinding and vertiginously panning mid-section drones add
sinister colors to Takeuchi's metaphorical picture which wasn't exactly evoking
green pastures and still waters to begin with. While brought down to 124 a
minute, one probably wouldn't want Somnambulism running much faster anyway
with a somewhat convoluted drum programming that is involved; a steady rise
of distortion and gain of its fluctuating acid bassline also proves to
provide enough fortitude to make up for the mid-range tempo and slowly but
surely fills up every patch of the spectrum with acute aural intensity.
Definitively exhausting the synonyms for this titularly addressed brand of
parasomnia, Sleepwalking brings the release to closure through diligently
whanging 4x4s alongside a condensing arrangement of 16x16s, paced at 137 and
supported in their plight by faintly striking claps with light hats peaking
from behind the perpetuating pattern of a deranged acid wall that undoubtedly
does to psyche something akin to subtly stirring the sanity meter towards E
while drilling a hole in tank to eliminate the possibility of a refill.
Maddening in all good senses, second adoptee of Depth.Request is a four-pack
of tools forget to inflict hard damage, best recommended to those that regard
their local factory-made-a-venue as weekend retreat |

at right now. Opening up proceedings is Somniac One, making her Perc Trax
debut after well received releases on RAW, Ghostly International, PRSPCT and

Chile-s premier fuzzed out hardcore punks! After multiple cassette only
releases and two 7"es, here-s their first time on 12". 13 tracks of
snotty angry punk blending the simplistic in-your-face aggression of typical
Latino-American taste with a noisy distorted approach recalling '80s Japanese
and British classics (Gai, Confuse, Chaos UK, Disorder). Ignorantes stands
above as one of the current gems of punk, their sound and attitude are
totally spontaneous and out of the guts, without any ambition or intention.

singer and songwriter Meta Dia and his roots/rock, soul, and reggae band The

Knocker
Jungle's sole LP was released by Ember in 1970 when the duo had already
split. Little is known about members Tony Coop and Keith Jones, but their
music displays a true passion for classic song-based artists, from Donovan to
Nick Drake or Dylan. Tony Cox held production duties and Dave Pegg and
Mattacks from Fairport Convention featured among the band players. Almost 47
years after the original album was withdrawn from sale due to a controversial
picture in the inner sleeve, this rare gem gets a deserved vinyl reissue.
Presented in facsimile gatefold sleeve and pressed on 180g vinyl. Ember was a
British label created in 1960 by Jeffrey Kruger, founder of London's Flamingo
Club. As well as recording British acts, Ember distributed many American and
other recordings in the UK. The Knocker Jungle LP was released by the label
in 1970, when the duo had already split, being withdrawn from sale shortly
after due to a controversial picture included in the inner sleeve that made
many shops refuse to stock it. A single (for the Spanish market only) somehow
managed to get released too, and that's about all Tony Coop and Keith Jones
achieved in their short life as Knocker Jungle. What the band members had
done before this project was formed or where this album led them to remains
totally unknown. Their music speaks for itself, confessing a true passion for
classic song-based artists, from Donovan to Nick Drake or Dylan, with a
certain degree of hippie-bluesy approach on most tracks. Tony Cox
(responsible for producing Yes' album "Time And A Word" and other
records from Family, Caravan, etc) held production duties and Dave Pegg and
Dave Mattacks from Fairport Convention featured among the band players. From
the splendid opener "I Don't Know Why", consistency remains solid
throughout the entire album. The catchy "You've Lost Your Love For
Me" adds some early T Rex sound into the equation while "Where I
Belong" shows a strong West Coast influence. Almost 47 years after its
sudden withdrawal from the shops, this rare gem gets a deserved vinyl reissue |

music, mainly focused on tropical rhythms although its extensive catalogue
