Cosmic Simmering is a very
personal new album of unreleased material from Chris Gray on saft. The 13
track album has been composed of previously lost archives, restored DAT tapes
and old CDs and it plots the musical evolution of one of house mysic's most
underrated artists. Work on this album started in March 2020 when Chris
started digging around in his archives. Some of what he found was sketched in
the late 80s, while other tracks were written a few months after Chris moved
to Chicago and was living in his uncle's south side attic in early 1993.
There are also some cuts from 1995 onwards which have been salvaged from
deteriorating DAT tapes after a friend of CHris fixed his player. There is
also a selection of early 2000s deep4life material taken from 20-year-old
backups on cheap CDs, all brought back to life for this record. Cosmic
Simmering is a beautifully widescreen album that works equally on mind, body
and spirit |

1957 to pursue a solo career. The following year he released this, his debut

lockdown silver linings continue to reveal themselves when we least expect
it... As proved, once again, by the inimitable Amsterdam techno HQ Deeptrax
as they present this stunning analog exploration from scene stalwart Mark
Peeters AKA Caim.? Inspired, created and sculpted during those strange times
when none of us could rave, Caim simply describes the moment by saying the
'clubs were closed, but creativity kept on floating'... Now that floatation
is bequeathed to us through these warm, rolling and wide-armed frequencies.
Tapping into a spirit that goes right back to Detroit and Chicago, there's an
understated groovemanship at play as Calm jams out on the same instruments
house and techno forefathers used to sculpt this culture.? Music to get lost
inside of, music to take away the stresses of the day, music that's a joy to
mix, weave and tell stories with... Caim has created another timeless
collection of grooves that could resonate with or relate to any period in the

introduction at this point. In recent years, the Greek producer and DJ from
Thessaloniki has made a name for herself with releases on Hardgroove, Out of
Place, Soma and Symbolism, among others. Moreover, she has been featured on
several high profile VAs, a track on Amelie Lens's 'Global Underground' mix
being the latest addition to her prolific discography. Her sound heavily
draws on the driving energy and minimalism of 90s and early 2000s techno, as
well as Detroit techno. Her 6-track EP 'Trinity' on Life In Patterns both
showcases her signature DJ tool style sound and a more introspective,
meditative side, making it a perfect fit for the Paris based label. We are
super excited to present ANNE's very first solo vinyl EP, coming in a
handstamped design, and are very much looking forward to its highly
anticipated release on 10 February 2023 |

Ellen
Allien and the We Are Not Alone collective are back with a second edition of
the We Are Not Alone series. A 36-track compilation split into 3 parts, each
consisting of 12 cuts, dedicated to the infamous We Are Not Alone event
series and the best of Berlin’s underground techno talent. Ellen Allien's
innovative party series We Are Not Alone was launched in 2016 and remains
committed to inviting an exciting crew of artists to perform at the 36 hour
events, now in a new home at RSO.BERLIN, where they returned with bang over
36 hours and 3 floors in May. The We Are Not Alone compilation features
artists that have played at the parties, as well as those who will join the
line-up for future events. The 4th, 5th and 6th parts include music by Ellen
and established names names such as Thomas P. Heckmann, Dollkraut & DJ
Europarking, Francois X, Phase Fatale and Etapp Kyle. Rising stars Nene H,
Nur Jaber, Stephanie Sykes, Wallis and Métaraph. BPitch signings including
Rosa Anschütz, Shaleen, Matasism and Uncrat. For this installment of the
series, Ellen Allien collaborates with esteemed director and photographer
Stini Roehrs for the multidisciplinary project ‘’AFTER DARK – Emotional
States of Techno’’, consisting of a virtual rave film, book and exhibition
produced by AKKURAT Studios, and the We Are Not Alone VA, which is to be
released physically and digitally via BPitch. The next We Are Not Alone
parties take place at RSO, Berlin in July, August and October of this year.
22nd July, CSD weekend, is set to be a single night event on two floors. 20th

retrospective spread over twelve vinyl discs, Sven Väth takes us back to the
early days of his DJ career. On What I Used To Play we meet great pioneers of
electronic music, gifted percussionists, obscure wave bands, and innovative
producers of a bygone 'new electronic' era. Rough beats and irresistible
grooves from the identification stage of house, techno, and acid remind us
not just how far electronic music has evolved over the past four decades, but
how great it was to dance to EBM, techno, and house for the very first time.
If there is one protagonist of the electronic music scene who has remained
curious, innovative and at the very cutting edge of music for over four
decades, it's Sven Väth. His multi-layered artist albums and Sound of the
Season mix compilations have been defining the genre for over two decades,
and even today, he is constantly on the lookout for the next top tune to add
to the highlights of his next set. At least, that's the case when he's not
producing them himself as an artist or remixer. "Actually, it's always
been part of my DNA to think ahead," and nothing had been further from
his mind than looking back at his past, but when in spring of 2020 the
international DJ circuit had to be scaled down to virtually zero, the
'restless traveler' suddenly had time. Time to stop and reflect on "how
it actually was back then, at the very beginning of my career..."
"It was a great trip and with every track, beautiful memories came
flooding back". In the London apartment, he had just moved into, Sven
has set up a "little music room", where he cocooned himself for
several days, "to look way back for the first time and review my musical
journey through the eighties, so to speak." The interim result was six
thematically oriented playlists with a grand total of 120 tracks from 'early
80s' to 'Balearic late 80s', together with excursions into afrobeat, European
new wave, and EBM sounds and a few epochal techno/house tracks from the USA
in between. From these 'Best of Sven Väth's favorites', the project What I
Used To Play crystallized. Sven remembers how the Cocoon team reacted to his
proposal: "They found the idea of making a compilation out of it MEGA
from the beginning and everyone said 'Sven, go for it', but then, of course,
the work really started, namely, to clear the rights and to get clean
sounding masters of the up to 40-year-old tracks. There was also
disappointment, of course. We couldn't clear certain titles because the
rights holders in the USA had fallen out with each other or simply
disappeared from the scene. In short, it wasn't easy, but now I can safely
say we got the most important tracks." Finally, after two years of
research, curation, design, and administrative fine-tuning, the "little
retrospective" from 1981 to 1990 is available. The exquisitely packaged,
and three-kilo heavy box set is not only physically impressive, WIUTP is also
the definitive record of Sven Väth's musical development. On each of the
twenty-four sides of vinyl, you can trace track by track, what influenced him
during which phase, and how he took off as a DJ from his parents' Queen's Pub
straight into the spotlight at Dorian Gray. There and at Vogue (later OMEN),
Sven became the style-defining player in the DJ booth that he still is today |

come! It has arrived in the form of the strictly limited collection box
“Music Is The Healing Force Of The Universe”, containing all singles released
on the label between 2019 and 2021. The Höga Nord – galaxy resounds of all
good between strict electro and loose jams, fluffy krautrock and moist world
music to underwater techno and space funk. Although, what it is that defines
the Höga Nord sound is not genres, instead it is, to cite Mathias Nilsson,
founder of and boss for the label, music “strongly connected to fantasy, to
the creative world.” Creativity over profit! The collection is an overview on
Gothenburg’s underground music and on an international scene that breathes

Swedish duo Alexander Johansson
and Mattias Fridell have built an impressive reputation since their
production debut in 2000. From there Fridell and Johansson released music on
a succession of classic and legendary labels including Audio Assault, ARMS and
XXX Records. When Johansson decided to take a six-year break from electronic
music, Mattias Fridell kept going. After reuniting, they released new
material on the likes of Cari Lekebusch's H. Productions and Ben Sims'
Symbolism. In 2022 they launched their Lømsk label which has seen them go
from strength to strength. Now they make their Blueprint debut with four new

J and Steve Rachmad join forces as Speedy & Steve for a four-track techno
EP on Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver this February. Dutch artists Speedy J and
Steve Rachmad have long been defining the techno underground with seminal
tunes on a range of influential labels. For their new release, the duo jammed
in Speedy's studio for their new release, working the live results into four
fresh and powerful new tracks, kicking off a new series of live
collaborations on Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver. The intense and textural
'Reddo' kicks off with industrial synth lines designed for maximum warehouse
impact before 'Dabler Nine' brings its deep rolling drums and mind-melting
synth lines late into the night. 'Right Well and Clean' has fresh, airy kick
drums rolling beneath harsh and icy hi-hats before 'Rotor' closes the release
in cosmic fashion with spiralling pads and intensely layered synths and
drums. This new series will see artists collaborating in person, with each EP
capturing the creative moment as it happens, with results aimed squarely at

After
a year of acclaimed releases on SK¦Eleven, Voltage, and his own Observer
Station, the ever exciting up-and-comer Altinbas strikes with his debut on
Token. Known for crafting club textures with the utmost attention to detail,
Altinbas offers his four contributions to the Belgian label under the name
'Illumination'. Grabbing the A1 slot with the title name, 'Illumination'
unveils Altinbas's story with a bubbly and strobe-like introduction. With a
long arrangement and sustained tension, suspense is never far from an
otherwise aquatic record. 'Integrate the Shadow' claims A2 as an introverted
and mischievous follow up. Nervous keys loop along with dissonant bells
accentuating the mystery to an already obscure soundscape. More playful with
the percussion here, Altinbas structures his second track with electric stabs
and wide rides to provide appropriate pace. We are then gripped by a
confident third, 'Tenacity', for a pinch of attitude needed in any good club
record. The metallic lead swings off a muffled mid synth line to create
movement here, and the clap booms behind us to create that dimension. Racing
to the end of 'Tenacity', Altinbas then guides us to our final chapter -
'Follow the Eyes'. This dreamy conclusion opens up the EP, giving us far-off
strings and a reliably ethereal lead bell that melts into a thick ambience.
The drums push us through a cloudy landscape to land us safely for the end of

celebrate Kontra-Musik Records hitting the ten-year mark, founder and label
owner Ulf Eriksson has put together a collection of some of our finest
releases. This has been a daunting task, for we are happy to announce that we
could easily have made several very different compilations that we would have
been equally contented with - there are so many superb tracks we had to leave
out. This has, however, been a labour of love. Much like the label itself.
Eclecticism has always been a lodestar for Ulf Eriksson, as we hope this
collection gives testimony to. The label has always been moving freely
between techno, house and more experimental sounds. Kontra-Musik intends to
show different angels of perspective, not to convert you to a new Religion or
Ideology. Being open to a broad variety of sounds and rhythms - judging them
not solely by their functionality but rather by their personality - has been
the Kontra-Musik way from day one. While it has been a crooked and sometimes
exceedingly hard road to follow, we're hoping to carry on for several years
to come. After 10 years, the label still feels meaningful and current to us -

Resistenza is pleased to present the latest release from the prolific,
restlessly creative composer-performer Anthony Pateras, two side-long pieces
- one performed by Callum G'Froerer on double-bell trumpet, the other sung by
Clara La Licata - in which soloists are accompanied by numerous pre-recorded
tracks of their own instrument or voice, creating acoustic halls of mirrors
where the distinction between live performer and recorded accompaniment
becomes difficult to perceive. Palimpsest Geometry (2020) for double-bell
trumpet & tape works with rapidly pulsed single trumpet notes, at brisk
tempos that hover at the perceptual threshold between rhythm and tremolo. The
interaction between different rates of pulse produces skittering echoes, as if
G'Froerer's layers of trumpets were really a single sound bouncing around the
sonic space. There Is A Danger Only Our Mistakes Are New (2021) for voice
& tape goes to work on a see-sawing two-note melodic cell, insistently
transposed and transposed again, hummed or sung with open vowels, contracting
to a semitone and expanding to a minor third. More than anything in the canon
of Western art music, the piece calls up the criss-crossing repeated figures
of Inuit vocal games or the interlocking repetitions of Banda-Linda music,
where rhythmic and harmonic displacements of repeated motifs fuse together
individual parts into the illusion of an impossibly rich and multi-faceted
unitary sonic organism. Essentially homogeneous in texture yet built up from
constantly changing details, broadly static yet always moving and shifting,
these pieces exemplify Pateras' recent work while also pushing it into a new,
strikingly immediate direction. Here, form grows organically out of the
material itself; the results are sparkling, immersive, and quietly

grit and zeal of Berlin, Detroit, Birmingham, and, his own, Sarajevo, Sev Dah
unleashes his distinctively punchy and deviously structured spheric sound
across this 4 track EP. Opening with a stomping dancefloor tool that sets the
energy high with playful and nostalgic loops, "Audio Grape"
showcases the dynamic range of the techno proletarian. The dexterity of
"Butter Knife" cuts intensely through the air with unexpected tones
and drums, evolving into a steamy big-room journey made of sinister spins all
the way through. On the B side, "Dense Fog" permeates the space
with a thick grip, softly engulfing all the senses in a labyrinth of sound,
steadily building up anticipation with gleaming pads and elevated melodies as
the story unfolds. The final track "Meraki" glistens with cold,
robotic, fast-paced beats, roaring with otherworldly chords, like omens from
the dystopian future, and melancholic subtlety that leaves a feeling of
bitter hope. From start to end, the EP Merak is an expression of the thriving
and techno-revolutionary spirit of Sev Dah, crafting powerful narratives
through a minimalistic approach. As a founder of DIG records, Olivia Mendez
aims to bring precisely this signature sound, and a dedication to vinyl
culture, which puts Dust In Grooves at the forefront of the contemporary
