repress - Originally given a digital-only, Bandcamp-only release back in the
summer of 2016 RVDE's '90s Hammer' has become a sleeper hit, slowly but
surely growing through word of mouth, YouTube plays and DJ support. Now Perc
Trax has licensed it from its original home T/W/B, added two brand new
remixes and given it the vinyl release it always deserved as the label's
final release of 2019. It all starts with the original mix, a whirlwind of
heavy kicks, triplet synths and gangster shout-outs. Heavy music isn't often
as hook laden as this and you can see why Perc has been a huge fan of the
track since its original release. Next up Perc Trax welcome's Slovakian
legend DJ Boss to the label for the first time. Boss is already a hero to
many Perc Trax artists including Sawf and Perc and as usual he doesn't
disappoint with a sub-heavy rolling 4/4 mix. Flip it over and up steps Perc
for the second of the new remixes. The Perc Trax boss pulls no punches as he
adds gun shots and his trademark slicing snares to an explosive arrangement
that has been a highlight of his sets around the world since summer. Finally
Anthro's excellent remix from the original T/W/B release completes this four
track 12". The noisiest and grimiest of all the mixes on show here, it
rounds off one of Perc Trax's most solid pieces of vinyl in a long time |

For
Erika's second album "Anevite Void", she explores her live process
as it permeates everything she does, including documenting the process of
life in the elaborate sci fi mythology she created. Erika began performing
live in Ectomorph in 1997 when she was gifted a TR-606 by BMG and asked to
join the group. This grew to her building her own studio, performing solo as
Erika, collaborating with people like Jay Ahern and Noncompliant, and
performing as a member of Circle of Live. Her depth of thought and clarity of
vision has led to her mentoring people on live performance through the In
Bloom platform, where she has made a large impact on many up and coming
musicians. "Anevite Void", Erika's new album, finds her organically
writing songs for her live shows, allowing them to take shape through
performance, and later recording them in the studio, making this the first
album she has entirely written and produced on her own. Mixed by long time
collaborator BMG, she finds this record as the launching point for a new
process for her. Conceptually, this album was inspired by "the irregular
life cycles created by three suns circling over a planetary organism that
presents two major biomes: rocky crystalline desert, and deep layered forest,
each of which exists above and/or below ground, depending on what phase the
suns are in." From this realm the album took shape. She also chronicled
this concept in drawings but found this painting by Detroit puckish punk
legend Nai Sammon perfectly visually explained the concept, and chose it for
the cover. She describes "each track is about an organic process that
occurs: acts of survival of the biomes, or what happens between them and the
multitude of other beings that they host." Erika is currently splitting
her time between being based in Berlin and Detroit, is part of the
triumvirate that runs Interdimensional Transmissions (BMG, Erika and Amber)
that are releasing this record and produce legendary events such as No Way Back,
Samhain and Return to the Source. She performs live and DJs and collaborates
and oozes sonic truth in its many forms. Visit the "Anevite Void"

Germany, there was a great deal of stage climbing, or attempts to do so. It
seemed like the habit taken on by the British had crossed over to Europe. Here
you have a damn fine selection of short, sharp, snappy Smiths' songs. You'll
also note that the band repeat tracks as an encore-obviously they didn't have
enough songs back then-finishing on Barbarism Begins At Home which would
feature on their 1985 album Meat is Murder. ThiS show in Hamburg was the only

presents a mighty 8-track compilation of propulsive trance, split over two
equally potent parts. The compilation contains a selection of dancefloor
favourites curated by KI/KI herself that have been intensively road tested
during her gigs in the past year. Opening slash002, Copenhagen's Peachlyfe
delivers a deviously ambient interlude. Rising into a transcendent crux,
'Sane & Awake' flirts with breakbeat's signature percussive style,
teasing a drop, before taking a U-turn, panning out into evermore blissful
peaks. Full of bounce, DJ Lucid brings the build with 'Entry Plug', drawing

By now a fabric of the Samurai
Music sound, Tensor sees Sardinia's Last Life back for his fourth release for
the label. The dive-bomb bounce of Offside opens the EP - hurling out
laser-sharp mentasms over a searing groove. Elements adds pace with a driving
amen tunnel, pinned down by a swaying half-step kick formation and a vocal
insignia. Title track Tensor combines many of Last Life's signature talents
perfectly - honed amen edits, a lush percussion loop, and kick drums sitting

- Creation: ASC mixes up the Spatial framework superbly with Creation,
channeling the classic 720-style vibe of yesteryear. Transforming apache
breaks with a twisted sci-fi crunch, the harsh beat patterns take center
stage throughout, stabbing and jittering over computerised FX and an
unsettled extra terrestrial backdrop which could punctuate an interplanetary
starfighter dogfight. This one will be at home in sets spanning several
generations of the atmospheric drum & bass movement. A2 - Placid: ASC's
intricate, tight breakwork returns with Placid, bringing an elegant,
mysterious aura echoing a solitary avian predator calmly scanning its vast
territorial expanse from the skies above. The listener is treated to a host
of familiar throwback samples delivered in a subtle, refined manner, with a
beautiful simple melody developing over the beatwork as the track progresses.
AA1 - Essence: An unnerving atmosphere from the off here as Essence brings
forth an unforgettably simple, addicting beat pattern with constant hats and
echoed mellow snares driving an energetic rhythm which will quickly get the
head nodding along. ASC drops muffled vocal samples and a repeating melody
into the mix to ensure Essence will stay with the listener long after the
conclusion. AA2 - Silent Running: Dialing back the intensity somewhat, Silent
Running provides respite to close the EP with X-Files-style keys and minimal
synthwork. The break structure follows a chilled 2-step pattern with double
snares closing the loop, mixed up occasionally with a subdued threat of more
energetic arrangements which remain dormant in the shadows... Until the next

It
is 1960, Rock'n'Roll has just lost a couple of its protagonists during this
and the previous year, the time of the great balladeers has just begun but
soon will run out due to the new and exciting beat invasion. In US mainstream
the tiki culture has reached a certain peak and is about to collapse but
still goes strong and with it comes the so called "exotica" music,
a crossover between smooth jazz and swing, Latin grooves, haunting melodies
that are rooted in the folkloristic sounds from different parts of this world
plus weird sound effects that often create a spooky jungle or dreamy island
beach atmosphere. It can even bend your mind that far you would see palm
trees growing out of your speakers and witness monkeys and parrots having fun
in your room. Eden Ahbez, born in 1908, passed in 1995, a man living an even
more consistent dropout and hippie lifestyle way before the movement was born
in the mid 60s, a beat poet and composer who wrote the hit tune "Nature
boy" that gave Nat King Cole his first big success in 1947, approaches
the field of exotica music from a different point of view creating an epic
concept album about an utopian society living in peace and harmony on an
island far away from the modern western world as we know it. And indeed we
find many trademarks of the prototypical exotica music beginning with this
relaxed groove combining easy listening swing and Latin patterns, peaceful,
dreamy and even transcendental vocal melodies, tinges of folk music from
around the world including powerful dances and a whole color palette of mind
expanding sounds giving the whole music an even greater depth and width |

Funky Chicken brings together
some of the best Belgian dance tracks from the early seventies. Emerged in a
country where virtually every musical wave passes through, most of these
tunes were created and recorded by hired guns, in this case a few clusters of
gifted session musicians and composers. The music on Funky Chicken is their
take on (afro-)funk, soul and Latin. Some of their releases were hit parade

"Tango que me hiciste
mal..." is the sought after first album by the Uruguayan rock band Los
Estómagos. It was one of the main groups in the post-dictatorship Uruguayan
rock scene. This album broke all the molds and it is considered to be a cult
record, an indispensable experimental album to understand everything that
came after in the continent. Los Estómagos- debut album, released in Uruguay
in 1985, is a very personal take on post-punk and darkwave. Exuding teenage
angst, "Tango que me hiciste mal" has ties with the sound of bands
like Joy Division, Soft Cell or Bauhaus, but shows a unique personality and

Braindance
is the second, highly anticipated, collaborative EP from Irish producer DJ
Mudak 2000 and French producer FTL, landing on their new label as the debut
release. Produced in Dublin & Paris, the two prolific junglists have
encapsulated the intricacies of modern jungle while still highlighting the
emotive elements of yesteryear. The first track "I Wanna" begins as
a fantastically light, classic jungle track with piercing soul vocals that
unpacks into a soaring brawl of amens and intense 808s. A great
representation of the duality of light and dark elements which make this
whole EP a standout. A2 "Barriers" is a driving, high tempo club
ready cut. There is absolutely no messing about with this one, in your face
reese business for the peak timers. On the flipside, title track
"Braindance" is a complex yet ethereal roller carried along by
hovering staccato vocals that are contrasted with a deep cutting sub that
will hit you in all of the right spots. The final track "Chasing A
Dream" lives up to its name as its emotive synth lines and Sad
Boys-esque cowbells will fill you with the tangible feelings of want and

a loss for a word to describe the music of Ghent-based Ramkot, they wouldn't
have to look far. 'Ramrock'; done. It's how the solidly carefree rocking
Ghent triumvirate themselves describe the music with which they have been
selling clubs, concert halls and festivals spicy maws since 2018. With two
EPs to their credit, 'Ramkot' (2019) and 'What Exactly Are You Looking For'
(2021), and a giglist that you can only be in awe of, the laureates of De
Nieuwe Lichting 2021 thought it was high time to stamp their awe-inspiring
sound on a first album. Le nouveau Ramkot est arrivé: with 'In Between
Borderlines', Ramkot delivers a debut full of particularly solid, yet
danceable, 'ram rock' and bangs its way through the wall of sound to a - no
doubt - very exciting future. 'In Between Borderlines' is the apotheosis of
two years of rock hard work. Idea. Elaborating. Polishing. And there's the
diamond. Ramkot is not the band to sit still and wait for the time to put
their music on tape. The time is always ripe. For 'In Between Borderlines',
Ramkot dove into the studio for a year - at different times - where they
canned eight songs, all with the familiar Ramkot signature: hard and cutting,
melodic and danceable and now and then gleefully deviating from the usual
path. The two advance singles 'Exactly What You Wanted' and 'I Can't Slow
Down' already beautifully indicated the tenor of 'In Between Borderlines':
the back straight and firmly in line, ready to continue on the successful and
- above all - very eager momentum. And did the music hit its mark?
Absolutely. Studio Brussels, Willy and KINK were immediately on board. With a
spot in De Afrekening, Catch Of The Day (Studio Brussel) and Daily Drop
(KINK) as a result. It is sometimes said that three is a magic number. It is.
A three-piece band reduces music to its essence and cuts harder live than a
Japanese chef's knife. Whereas during the recording process Ramkot was
tempted to also get to work with synths, live they invariably opt for the
more pared-down versions of their songs that - just like on the album - grab
the audience by the neck and show them every corner of the room. And it is
this playing live that has certainly not hurt the band in recent years. On
the contrary, it made Ramkot more natural, tightened the reins and gave the
band an even more distinctive look. 'In Between Borderlines' is brimming with
the pleasure of playing, the desire and eagerness to go flat out until
'everything is broken'. Ramkot never gets stuck. On 'In Between Borderlines'
this manifests itself in multi-layered songs with tentacles in solid riffs,
occasionally borrowing from other genres. Does a song have a ragtime feel to
it? Or is there a hint of 'despacito'? The band is not afraid to blend some
exotic influences with abrasive guitars and sulky drums. Extra flavour makes
the dish more interesting. And as for 'In Between Borderlines', the starter,
main course and dessert are immediately on the table. It may be finished in
one sitting |

mastering engineer Matt Colton (Metropolis Studios) to remaster and recut the

time. This must have been the beginning of the ongoing struggle of mankind
dealing with self-consciousness. Anna and Ole (Das A&O) also met at the
water point and much like the myth of the first human couple "Adam and
Eve" they ate too much poisoned apples but instead of getting obsessed
with one's ego, they wrote some beautiful Synth Wave music together!

for 2023! Our first vinyl release of 2023 sees two classic tracks from Groove
Park take centre stage. Hit The Bang and Carrousel first came to the fore in
1995 as separate releases and, after a few solid remixes, our Bonzai Classics
imprint resurrected both tracks along with top-notch remixes in 2002. 21
years later we bring to you the original versions of both tracks on glorious
12” vinyl. André Strässer and Sharam Jey aka Sharam Nickjey Khososi make up
the dynamic duo that is Groove Park. They were also the brains behind massive
projects such as 16C+, Three n One and Johnny Shaker to name just a few. The
tracks found a unique place in clubland, having a diverse structure that
spanned genres flawlessly. The A side features Hit The Bang with its hybrid
progressive/techno flow. The relentless bass groove, distinct voices and
stabbing synths gave rise to a powerful, energetic and mesmerizing moment
that lives on. On the flip, Carrousel takes up the B1 slot opening with that
infectious woodblock sequence alongside pumping kick drums. A groovy bassline
joins the party as old skool pianos come through. The track reels us in with
many twists and turns, from wide, epic progressive parts to energetic trance,
all wrapped up in a warm, nostalgic glow. A proper piece of dance music

JAKOMO
is a Brussels-based band that transforms their turbulent twenties into a
sound they call suave rock. The band found its origin in frontman Julien
Tanghe's bedroom, where he and his social anxiety withdrew themselves to
create music. It didn’t take long to find his musical partner in Wout Vermijs
(guitar), who also brought the whole visual aspect of the band to life. Match
made in heaven! With also Jef Ballon (bass) on board, the band soon played
Dour, Botanique and Ancienne Belgique. A well-deserved place in the finals of
Humo’s Rock Rally 2020 followed a few months later and they impressed
everybody with their debut EP ‘Fastbreak’. With the release of their latest
singles "Sexdroom” and “Atlas” JAKOMO is clearly taking big steps
without losing their playful lo-fi character. This is partly thanks to the
collaboration with producer Michiel De Maeseneer (Balthazar, Sylvie Kreusch,
Nordmann...). During their week in the studio, their energies dynamically
blended into an eclectic mix of catchy melodies, alternative hooks and groove
rhythms. JAKOMO's debut album will be released 17.02.23 on On The Level |

charts in 1985, the Italian queen of “romantic dance” made her second single
“Get Closer” a clairvoyant poem about… errr… life and love: “when the world
is running down - get closer"! Think stonewashed jeans, endless summers
on Italian beaches, boats coming back to the shore. Remixed by fellow country
men Tiger & Woods, “Get Closer” gets sandblasted into our modern times
and the necessary treatment to be the peak- and night time hug fest, it’s
always supposed to be. Add a run out tool by DJ Oyster and a gentle

complex song structures, De Beren Gieren deliver an extravagant blend of
polyrhythmic soundscapes and elitist twists, showing an ability to change
mood in a way that constantly holds the listener's attention. They
effortlessly shift from more rigidly styled compositions to improvised
sections and thus reveal the pulsating and ominous futuristic sound of a new
world. Produced by Dijf Sanders and Frederik Segers, 'Less Is Endless' is an
ode to a universe teeming with life. Seen as an extension to the critically
acclaimed 2017 album 'Dug Out Skyscrapers', it searches for vents through
which life can emerge and evolve. The secret of communicating creativity can
be found in the cultivation of the unfinished; the missing piece of the
puzzle tickles the imagination more than the perfect end result. From the
psychotropic opener 'A Funny Discovery' and off-kilter piano rhythms of
'Animalcules' to the impressionist melodies and harmonic soundscapes of
'Tuin', De Beren Gieren give the music the space to breath and grow with
every unexpected twist and turn. Elsewhere, 'Guggenheim House' is a lesson in
the avant-garde, while 'Gentse Leugentjes' is a far cry from the traditional
piano-bass-drum set-up, before the affecting 'Moments Never a Moment' and
18-minute 'A Random Walk' is an adventure in improvisation and electronics
that defies any logical convention. Forming in 2009, Fulco Ottervanger
(piano, fx, synths), Lieven Van Pée (double bass, electric bass) and Simon
Segers (drums, fx) quickly built a reputation across the Benelux region with
their 'must-see' live shows and have since taken their transcendental live
energy across Europe, Morocco and Japan and have performed at North Sea Jazz,
Jazz Middelheim, Trondheim Jazzfestival, Ljubljana Jazz Festival, Moers
Festival, Gent Jazz, Kanazawa Jazz Street and Eurosonic. The trio's
breakthrough came with second album 'A Raveling' (2013) which received rave
reviews, and the following year, a live recording with Portuguese trumpet
player Susana Santos Silva was released as 'The Detour Fish' (2014) on the
Clean Feed label, gaining De Beren Gieren further widespread recognition.
Their 2015 release 'One Mirrors Many' was lauded by Dutch magazine Jazzism
and signalled the beginning of their electronic quest, finding its maturity
in 'Dug Out Skyscrapers' (2017). In 2019, they celebrated their 10th
anniversary, releasing the limited edition 'Broensgebuzze EP'. De Beren
Gieren have collaborated with renowned jazz artists including Louis Sclavis,
Ernst Reijseger, Joachim Badenhorst, Marc Ribot, Jan Klare and Jean-Yves

& Skyscraper Street is special in many ways! On 'Dancing Street', Martin
gives your equilibrium a real test with its off-axis beat structure and
fantastic chord definition. As the track releases the pressure nearing the
end is nothing short of genius. This is not for the faint of heart!
'Skyscraper Street' is the ideal counterpoint to 'Dancing Street'. A
perfectly tempoed tech masterpiece, it soars over a city soundscape riding a
confident beat. For the B side, grad_u on the remix gives us a wall-shaker! A
serious main floor sound and the only relief from the intense bass is the
beautiful chord work. The word epic comes to mind from our label leader!
There is a handful of names that are buy on site when you see them and VRIL
is no doubt one. This remix of 'Skyscraper Street' is drenched in layer upon
layer of shimmering and fractured melodies. This experimental and almost
dreamlike state of consciousness is auditory sensory overload of the highest

legendary Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin on 180 gram vinyl. The depth of

After a solid 3 years of working exclusively on building the Greyscale label,
owner grad_u felt its the right time to also focus on his own music. And we
all can't be more happy to hear what he's been up to! Redscale #10 has all
the hallmarks of the classic output but the energy is dialed up to 11.
'Siren' is a pure dancefloor packer! It has that ideal combination of
underground techno club power and catchy supporting chords. Think Aril
